Nemo

D-Tier

Nemo BosMD0G
Name: Refers to herself as Nemo (Meaning “No Name”), Master-given name is Aina. Birth Name Unknown.
Country Affiliation: Kou Empire
Race: Hybrid - Human Reccessive, Fanalis Dominant
Tier: D
Class: Warrior
Age + Birthdate: 22, barely recalls the age in years better yet a date to attach to it.
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Undetermined - Assumed heterosexual
Personality:
- Quiet -
This isn't to be confused with anxiety or shyness. Nemo had learned over the years most thoughts are not worth speaking. In most cases she wouldn't speak up unless someone spoke to her. She keeps a lot of resentment and hold all grudges to herself and not let them be known. Likewise, her own opinions may never be known if they are not asked of her.

- Subservient -
She's a servant first, friend second. Nemo is used to barrages of commands. strict and loose, as well as being told to do certain tasks others might not want to do. So long as they are not incredibly demeaning or harmful to her well being she will follow suite with little qualms.

- Stoic -
She rarely speaks out in dismay or expresses her suffering during trials of pain, lose, and the like. She may come off as apathetic in this regard but she's simply doing what is expected of her. She's no whiner; people have made sure of this.

- Blunt -
That being said, when Nemo does say what is on her mind she is typically straight forward and blunt as all get out.

- Loyal -
Good care and trust can make her follow one or a few's ambitions more than even her own. Call it gullible or whatever, her loyalty should ever rarely come into question. This aspect of her is not easily won however.

- Adventurous -
With mild curiosity and honed senses, Nemo is naturally adventurous and always up to trying newer things. Exploring different places. Though she may not see it as everyone else can the young lady can enjoy food, smells, feelings, and the social nature of her environment all the same.

Likes:
- Kindness -
Who doesn't like being treated kindly and with due respect?

- Recreational Time -
Even with being a servant or maid of some sort Nemo can still enjoy the times off and the social outgoings of her peers and superiors alike.

- Understanding -
People understanding and taking others opinions and her own into the mix.

- Sweets -
She has a sweet-tooth she got to indulge on in her time with Sho. Don't disappoint her.

- Housework -
She had lived with it; It's a thing she can do well and it's simple enough.

- Strength -
This comes in more than just strength in muscle; Strength in character and one's own positives are good in her eyes.

- Gratitude -
Who doesn't like being recognized for their achievements? Nemo's always loved being glorified.

Dislikes:
- Abusive masters/caretakers -
That comes with just about anyone, doesn't it?

- Bullies -
Like the above; She has no reason to continually harass someone, why should other people do the same?

- Crooks -
While she is not against all criminal activity, the typical thief or murderer garners no sympathy from her.

- Assumptions -
Assumptions. Don't take things for face value. Especially her.

- Art -
This is mostly referring to the physical aspect of it; it's not something she can experience without someone explaining it to her, and even then she will most likely not resonate with whatever it painted anyways.

- Strangers too touchy -
"At least buy me a drink and dinner first."

Aspirations:
- Sight -
Nemo's sight. While it's just a memory in her childhood now she still dreams of a day she could once again regain sight and find a way past her blindness in society. Her others senses have been honed to compensate for now. She doesn't like being treated as a blind, and while she does accept her fate she would take just about anything to get it back.

- Freedom -
Nemo's self defense in no way could combat entire social constructs. Unlike many others who strive for this Nemo knows that trying to do so could end fatally. Her worth in a maid is enough to keep her, but her lost vision makes other tasks hard. If she simply ran away what would she do?

Phobias/fears:
- Silence -
Though she's quiet herself? Funny. No, really. Lack of even the passing steps of carriages makes her feel anxious. Something she rarely feels without this in mind. Having such precise hearing, silence would be like closing her eyes to a normal person. If someone were to catch her tapping her finger, snapping them, tapping her feet, or anything else she would do to make a little noise it's safe to say she was just thinking it too quiet in the room without saying it.

- Weightlessness/Being in a Vacuum -
Similar case to the silence. Tactile feeling is another thing she has the pleasure of still sensing rather well. Being suspended fluidly or being stuck without even the air to press against her can make her feel just as anxious.

Face-Claim: Yorha unit no. 2 type B - Nier Automata
Hair Color: Red
Eye Color: Formerly Orange; Currently Orange with clouded burns
Height: 180 Centimeters (5’ 10”~)
Weight: 55 Kilograms (121 lbs.~)

Appearance:

Nemo is a blooming young Fanalis with that trademark red hair, cut in a bob, and orange eyes; kept behind a black cloth at all times. What can be seen of her face is pretty and smooth. Possibly because the cute aspect made her actually able to compete with others. A headband keeps part of her hair back and also helps the cloth stay around her eyes. Her nose if a smooth and pointy small thing and her lips sultry and sweet looking.

Nemo's physique is quaint and curvy with a little muscle. Fair skinned. A contrast from her attire. This black puffed dress with intentional cleavage and leg showing. It covers a majority of the arms and the rest of her body though. As they should...

Rukh Alignment: White Rukh

Special Features:

Nemo's torso, arms, and bandaged area of her head are covered with scars, marks, and burns. Both of Nemo's eyes under the cloth are clouded with the burn they had sustained and are rarely seen open. All of these had been given either from being disobedient or from some careless mishap on part of the people ordering her to do certain work.

History:

Nemo was born into slavery. Quite literally. Her mother a rebellious Fanalis Slave and the father her owner. She would live under her mother's wing not for two years before her own father decided to sell her off to another. Nemo has no recollection of these events; What she does remember is being housed under a more wealthy and crude man named Sion that gave her the name "Aina".

Much like Nemo's mother dearest the young Fanalis would throw fits and holler over being commanded to do labor. Sion's place was a farmstead. What she had to do was a bit much, especially for a young girl like herself. Yard work for hours, little breaks in between. Her hands and feet would become sour and throbbing before the days end. Often she'd be punished for her trouble and mishaps.

Growing older, into her teens, this rebel in her had calmed. Lucky she hadn't tried to run at all during her time with Sion. She had just now started getting on his good side when she had the incident in the living room. A hooded lamp she was instructed to bring out to others for some night time chores was offered to her carelessly. The oil and combustion of the lamp caught a man beside her completely on fire while she herself caught the oil in her eyes and forehead region. The whole place had been caught on fire with that too. Sion and a few of the other family members took to flee out of their little stead while a few of the freer slaves took to run on that very moment. Nemo was taken out with the family and taken care of to the best of their abilities before they could suitably take her away for care.

it was too late for the Fanalis's sight though. The burns had damaged her eyeballs and nerves too badly. At a loss for profit, Sion had to sell the budding little Nemo as a house maid and pretty her up. That's where Sho comes in. This older man who lived in his lonesome out further in the country took the teen and raised her in a more proper home. There she would be treated as a child of his almost. All that was really asked of her was to clean dishes, do laundry, and other very small tasks. In exchange he often taught the woman how to deal with her crippling blindness and taught her all sorts of ways to get around with the use of canes and walking sticks. Eventually the old man told Nemo to adopt her own name. Aina wasn't something a mother gave to her, so it was better to discard it in both their minds. Thus, Nemo was born out of her choice.

Over these years Nemo had become accustomed to her blindness and mostly accepted the fact she'd have trouble with newer places. Then there came a time to be as a young woman that Sho taught her all of those important womanly things as well as started her on the ropes of self defense. By using her other, now honed senses, she could compensate for her sight to a degree. Acute hearing and sensitive tactile feel can sometimes be more of a benefit in certain situations.

The two of them wouldn't last forever, Sho was growing old with age. Alas, with time, her old caretaker had bit the dust and offered her a way towards freedom should she want it. The choice would ultimately come to her ability to function independently.

Role-Play Sample:

It was a strange and daunting morning. For whatever reason when Nemo got up it was by natural course. Sho hadn't come to wake her up per the usual with his morning tea and conversation with the passing by messenger. The whole place was silent in fact. No smell of coffee, not steps of a constantly pacing messenger boy, nothing. The only stirring in there was her, getting up from her quaint bed. She was in her night gown. Nothing really dressed up, not even the horrific scarring on her face. This morning wouldn't need it.

"Sho?"
Her very smooth voice would call out as she stumbled around her familiar room and grabbed a hold of her cane. Nothing seemed in place for a usual morning. With enough stumbling around the kitchen and no reply she'd again call out... To nothing. After feeling around the place for a moment with her free hand she noticed that nothing had been out. It was unusual for Sho to not be up; She could feel the sun beating against her skin now through a window. Perhaps his master room would offer a better picture.

Walking down along the hall she tapped her cane a few times against the ground and made sure to step up just right over the door end. For some reason the years had worn the thing up and made going into the room feel like stepping up onto a platform. Being inside here also felt very similar to the kitchen. Barren of life and noise that came with the old man.

"Sir?"
Still nothing. She'd make her way easily to the bedend and feel the covers with her free hand. The bed seemed... to have a bump in it. To the other side she'd get a feel for the covers again. Something hard was underneath, but made no sound. For a moment she held her breath and had her fingers trail up to the top of the cover to then grab at and eventually pull down. The old man was there still in his bed, motionless.

Silent to the death he passed by during his sleep.

The only problem here is in your history. Unfortunately, the nature of the systems does not allow a D-tier character to master magoi manipulation to the degree you would need in order to use magoi to "replace" natural sight.

However, your character is a fanalis. It is canon that fanalis senses are generally more advanced than the typical human. You could replace using magoi to see with using your acute hearing for sonar-like purposes. Just be sure to spend a trait point on making a custom trait that allows you to do so.

P.S. As you rank up, if you ever gain access to magoi manipulation, you may use it in the way your history currently describes either through a trait or an ability.

Very Happy

Bump, should be fixed and stuff now. Omitted the main concern.
