Rats and Magic do Mix (Job/solo)

Job TItle:

It was a nice day in the magical town known as Magnostadt. Lestacia with staff in hand walked out of her grandfather’s house after kissing him goodbye. She had accepted a job today. To get rid of the academy’s rat problem. These however were no ordinary rats. They were large rats, stronger than their cousin the sewer rat. Lestacia shuddered at the thought of a rat being larger than a Sewer Rat. After all, sewer rats already grew to a ridiculous size. It was bad enough the sewers had a rat problem but the academy itself had a large rat problem. With a heavy sigh she grits her teeth and walked out the door in order to try and gain a handle upon the situation. She would have until later that night to report to an academy professor about her progress. So she thought about doing a little window shopping before reaching the academy but she was given a job to eliminate the rats. She could always window shop later and look at the magic tools that Magnostadt had to offer later, for right now she had a school to get to.

Upon Arrival to the school she apologized to the professor for her tardiness and walked into one of the hallways. Immediately she could hear the sounds of the Rats skittering here and there.

‘They’re here, they’re here what do I do?’ Lestacia stopped in her tracks. Her imagination had begun to dramatize how large the rats would be. After all she was so small compared to normal 16 year olds. She looked like a child. The girl cautiously moved down the hall looking left and right that was until she heard something coming from the room near her. She turned her head slowly towards the door, sheer terror clear upon her face.

CRASH!!

The sound of broken glass had shattering on the floor echoed throughout the hallway sending Lestacia jumping behind a nearby pillar. Peeking out she opened the door to find two large rats on the floor standing on their hind legs in front of her. Bullets of sweat dripped from her face as she backed away slowly. One however lunged at her and in a desperate attempt to defend herself, she cast a spell. Pointing her staff at the Lunging rat she yelled “Curareis”  A white vine shot from amidst the flowers on her staff and grasped the rats leg. She moved to the side and swung the vine around slamming the Rat into a wall filled with beakers and vials of potions and the like. The paralyzed rat tried to limp towards Lestacia but the frightened girl had already gotten the nerve to fight back. “Sapreisa!” A large flower propped itself up and spat a seed at the paralyzed rat killing it. Looking to the second rat she held her staff out as if to taunt it. The rat jumped atop her and attempted to bite her but she fended it off with her staff. It's breath was horid and dreadful. It was so bad that it could peel paint. She pushed the rat off of her and whacked it with her staff. That rat fell to the ground limp and lifeless.  

“2 down, 2 more to g-“ She was interrupted by a pain on her shoulder turning around she could see a large rat with its teeth dug into her shoulder. It used its stinging bite to avenge its friends. The rat jumped away as Lestacia covered her bleeding shoulder and it tried to attack once more. It’s friend was soon visible in the doorway. "Ugh more of you." As the third rat lunged towards Lestacia she brought her staff down upon it's head as it lay limp on the ground. Rat number 4 however stood in the doorway. The two stood there staring each other down. It was best that she not use up anymore Magoi than she already had. Looking to the side she spotted a cabinet of potions that looked quite potent. She made a run for the cabinet as rat number four ran at her with all it’s might. Lestacia pushed the cabinet down and the rat tried to turn around and run but it was too late. The cabinet fell on top of the Rat and he remained trapped under the cabinet. Lestacia brought her staff over head and slammed it down atop the rats skull killing it upon impact. With a heavy sigh of relief the girl walked to a professor so she could get paid for her work. This was the longest day she had ever had in her entire life.
