Hello, everyone! Taking the feedback of a few dominance users, I came up with some changes that should satisfy some concerns while keeping balance in mind. You can see the changes from the Dominance Specialization System page and Dominance Beast Info page in red below. Please comment below if you have any thoughts or suggestions and don't forget to vote. Current Dom users are greatly encouraged to voice their opinion.

Dominance

Dominance is a specialization which revolves around the taming and/or befriending of beasts. Those who specialize in this category are typically referred to as "Beast-Tamers". These creatures are capable of dealing damage equal to their own Tier with their natural weapons.

D-Tier: Can own 1 D-Tier beast. Beasts can register C-Tier and below techniques.

C-Tier: Can own 1 C-Tier beast. Beasts can register B-Tier and below techniques.

B-Tier: Can own 1 B-Tier beast and 1 D-Tier Beast. Beasts can register A-Tier and below techniques.

A-Tier: Can own 1 A-Tier beast and 1 C-Tier Beast. Beasts can register A-Tier and below techniques. At this rank, your primary beast (that is, the A-Tiered one), reduces word-counts on travel topics by 25%. and can trained into a Legend Beast (see below for details).

Ω-Tier: Can own 1 A-Tier beast and 1 B-Tier Beast. Beasts can register A-Tier and below techniques. At this rank your primary beast (that is, the A-Tiered one), reduces word-counts on travel topics by 50%. Ω-Tier abilities can only be used by "Legend Beasts".

Beast Abilities

Unlike people who specialize in other areas and use their own abilities, Beast-Tamers are practically defenseless on their own. All of their abilities and attacks come from and are produced by their beasts. There are several things to note about Beast Abilities:

  • These abilities take up stamina points from the owner, and beasts don't have stamina limits of their own.
  • Ability slots are spread throughout all of your beasts. Just because you have multiple beasts, you don't have any more ability slots than the average person.
  • The type of beast you have determines what kind of abilities they can use. Ex. A normal tiger cannot use wings to fly, or shoot its claws out as a ranged attack. This is further limited by its Classification Type (See more on Classification Type below)
  • All beast types may utilize the speed passives and movement-type abilities.

Beast Roles

Beasts perform certain combative roles that vary between each individual species. At lower tiers, beasts are limited to how many roles they can fill, but can gain access to more as they rank up. The chart below shows how many roles a beast can have at each tier.

D-Tier: A Beast at this tier may perform one role.
C-Tier: A Beast at this tier may perform two role.
B-Tier: A Beast at this tier may perform two roles.
A-Tier: A Beast at this tier may perform three roles.

Types of Roles:

Brute Force: These beasts are close-combat specialists and their abilities follow the strength guidelines. They can only use offensive abilities for close range attacks.

Defender: These beasts are effective at taking blows and acting as a shield for their tamer. These beasts can only use defensive abilities and supplementary abilities for Immobilization.following the strength guidelines.

Assassin: These beasts are effective at attacking from a medium range with a projectile and their abilities follow the stealth guidelines. They can only use offensive abilities for medium ranged attacks.

Sniper: These beasts are ranged specialists and their abilities follow the Dexterity guidelines. With increased ranged, they pay for it with their ability damage dealing a Tier lower, except in the case of D-Tier abilities which deals its tier in damage. They can only use offensive abilities for ranged attacks and supplementary abilities for Immobilization.

Support: These beasts are much more unique able to support their tamer with a variety of skills. They use supplementary abilities for Healing, Poison, Invisibility (up to C-Tier), Sensory-Based Techniques, and more, however they are unable to cause Immobilization. They follow the stealth guidelines.

Beast Size and Speed

The maximum sizes and speeds for beasts are as follows:

D-Tier: 2 meters in scale. Movement speed 5 m/s.
C-Tier: 5 meters in scale. Movement speed 7 m/s.
B-Tier: 10 meters in scale. Movement speed 10 m/s.
A-Tier: 15 meters in scale. Movement speed 12 m/s.

Beasts have multiple different modes of movement. Flight, swimming, walking, running, jumping, crawling, slithering and burrowing are all examples of movement. A person may also think that the bigger the beast the better, however you should also take into account that larger beasts make easier targets.

Training Beasts

Unlike weapons and staffs, Beasts are living creatures. So, instead of purchasing higher-tiered beasts, a tamer can instead train them into higher tiers. The process for training beasts is the exact same as training abilities, including the word-counts. When training a beast to a higher tier, the focus should be similar to Specialization training and focus on the beast gaining power, whether that is through strength, utility, or awakening actives/passives.

D-Tier to C-Tier: 500 words
C-Tier to B-Tier: 1000 words
B-Tier to A-tier: 1500 words

Legend Beasts

"Legend Beasts" are creatures that are typically thought of to be mythical. This can include anything along the line of dragons, phoenixes, and any otherworldly creatures. There are several things to note about these special beasts:

  • These beasts can use a single element. Their abilities follow the Magic Guidelines.
  • All Legend Beasts must be A-Tiered.
  • Legend Beasts can be up to 30 meters in size.
  • If you wish to have a Legend Beast, you may either sacrifice your primary A-tier beast or extensively train your current A-tier beast up to Legendary Beast. The training for a Legendary Beast will be based off the guidelines for Omega tier training.
  • Legend beasts can only be obtained by individuals with Dominance as their Primary specialization.
  • Once your Legend Beast has been obtained, you will be able to replace up to 5 abilities, B-tier and lower, that you lost due to replacing your starter beast.

Beast Systems

Basic Beast Information

  • A Beast’s health is equal to 3 tiers of damage from their own rank. Once a beast gets to A-Tier, however, this changes to 2 tiers of damage of its own rank. Ex.: A C-Tier Beast can withstand 1 B-Tier damage and 1 C-Tier damage before death, or 3 C-Tier damage, or 6 D-Tier damage.
  • A Beast begins with 1 Passive trait at D-Tier and gains an additional one each tier.
  • A Beast begins with 1 Half-cost ability at D-Tier.
  • A C-Tier Beast can retrain their half-cost ability to max at C-Tier.
  • At B-Tier, the Beast unlocks a second half-cost ability that caps at B-Tier.
  • At A-Tier, the Beast unlocks a third half-cost ability that caps at A-Tier..
  • A Legend Beast obtains an additional Passive trait.

Passive Traits

Passive traits are what allow a beast to survive in the wild. These skills do not have any direct offensive capabilities nor do they cost any energy when using them. These types of skills and abilities range from speech skills, heightened intelligence, flight, swimming as well as any passive increase to speed, defense or basic attacks. Anything involving a type of naturally occurring biological feature, such as bio-electricity, acid, flame breath, poison, healing, etc. are also considered passives but require abilities to utilize. These skills are always in use and do not have cool downs.

*An increase in strength will provide an increase of 1 tier in damage to their natural damage, up to A-Tier(this only involves melee style damage). An increase in defense will allow the Beast to withstand 1 extra attack of their tier in damage. An increase in speed will allow the Beast to move at double the base speed of a Beast(this only applies to 1 speed, which is selected at time of registering the passive. To obtain extra speed in other modes of movement, you would need to make an additional passive for each movement type)

Half-Cost Abilities

These skills cost ½ the amount of stamina/magoi that an ability of that tier would normally cost but have a base cool-down of 5 posts and it may be sustained up to 3 posts. For each post sustained, the cool down increases by 1.

Beasts as Mounts and Mounted Combat

Some beasts are large enough to be used as a means of transport. While size plays a factor in whether you will be able to ride your Dominance beast, another important factor is your tier in the Dominance Specialization. You will not be able to ride your beast until your Dominance specialization is at C-tier. This is strictly a means of transportation and you will not be able to attack from the back of your beast. At B-tier in your Dominance specialization, you may begin to utilize mounted attacks (e.g. Shooting arrows while riding, slicing enemies from the back of a horse, launching fireballs while flying through the air). You will only be able to use abilities of your tier and below while mounted.

Rage Mode

If, at any given time, you are killed, your beast may enter a “Rage Mode.” You pet will become enraged that you have fallen in battle and will be allowed to perform one free basic attack against what killed you. This does not allow the use of an ability, as you will be dead. This attack cannot be blocked.

I like this idea. While it will require some reworking for dom pets, I think overall it increases the utility of individual beasts.

Not a fan on the limitations on support beasts, those limitations make running a beast of such a type more of a liability then anything else once they reach C rank and are able to use B tier abilities.

So you believe they should get immobilization? Otherwise support beasts are unchanged from tacticians

You specify that they can only use poison and other such abilities up to C-Tier, which looking over the current guidelines for Dom beasts and the tactician specialization seems to be a rather drastic nerf. Also not being able to immobilize makes little sense, considering a snake could constrict something, a spider could create a web to ensnare someone and other such things.

I believe you are missing the part where it states "and more" in the description. However, I can see your argument for the immobilization, but this is to lend itself to more specialized role, as Brutes can immobilize.

I miss read that, its invisibility up to C tier, everything else is cool to go beyond. I withdraw my statement xD Still don't see why they can't ensnare though. Makes little sense.

I see where the disconnect is now. The C-Tier is in direct reference to Invisibility and the current ruling that Stealth Spec/Tacticians does not get full invisibility. Poison, healing, sensory, etc. are not affected.

As for immobilization, a beast with a support role could get access to it by taking on a second role at C-Tier which allows it, such as Defender or Sniper.

Personally i feel the role system does bring an element of variety to dom users and i do like that aspect, though i do think when people unlock the 3rd Role they might have a little bit 2 much in terms of options.
Might be nice if you created combinations for Example Brute + Defensive, would lead into a Tank or Bull. Assasin + Sniper lead into Rouge or Archer. Just idea just to stop beats having 2 much diversity. Additionally i think people who pick Doms as there first spec should have an additional perk, maybe their first pet [Can start as an Advnaced class [Tank, Rouge, archer,Bull].

Rest of stuff for me isn't 2 much of a big difference compared to the previous for me to really care.
