Personality: Faust Nightingale has a sort of dueling personality. On one end he is a kind sweet old man who tends to plants. He truly wants to help those who are sick, injured and just unhealthy in general. It pains the old soul to see people distraught by pain. This is part of the reason he has made it his goal to become a doctor and to take care of the broken and discarded.
On the other side, he cares to the point that he is obsessed with helping people. He will do anything he can to help people even if that means causing them physical pain or discomfort. In fact especially that. He believes that causing pain is necessary to help heal those who need it. If he does not hear the sounds of screams that means that the medicine is not working. He will also use his patients as his own personal experiments. He does not see anything wrong with this since the goal of the experiments are to better the world. So while he is a sweet old man who truly wants to be a good and kind doctor he takes this ideal too far.
In combat he focuses on healing and defending more than attacking. In fact, the way he heals is in a way of itself an attack. He will not hesitate to use his extreme methods on one that attacks him, or even himself to prevent himself from being taken down by physical damage.
Likes: Screams are something that Faust craves and looks for. Screams show that someone is healing. He believes one cannot truly be healed and well if they did not scream once.
Plants, being a gardener as well as a doctor he has a great love and care for plants, using them for his medicine.
Dislikes: Blood, while being a doctor he has never gotten used to the site of blood and still finds it incredibly unsettling to look at.
insects and rodents are another dislike of his due to the fact they are potent carriers of diseases. However, there are a few he tolerates since they can be helpful to plants and his ecosystem of plant life.
Aspirations: Faust goal is to simply become a notable and trustworthy doctor as well as fixing as many patients as he can. While this is simple in idea it is not so much in execution. Especially with his particular form of medicine it will be hard to gain the acclaim he looks for. But he will persist regardless. After all he is not trying to become famous for himself but so more will come to him for healing. He wants to become the foremost healer in the world. He will experiment and learn the mysteries of life while putting his own body and patients on the line.
Phobias/fears: Full sets of hair. Due to his poor genetics, Faust has only had a full set of hair during his early youth, losing the top during puberty. As such he was ridiculed for losing hair so young and it has traumatized him to the point he is afraid of full heads of hair, especially on men. If someone has a full head of hair(most people) he will be unable to look at their face and will look anywhere else but their head. If a patient of his has a full set of hair he will make sure to sheave just the top part before doing any sort of healing, men and women both.

Appearance: Faust is a short old man but does not let this hinder him from having a good posture. He stands up straight and refuses to hunch unless its when he is working. He tends to walk with short, quick steps so that it looks more akin to shuffling than walking. He has a kind hearted grin and eyes which show his kind demeanor and personality.
While posture is important, once he is operating on someone he hunches over them rubbing his hands together and smile seems much more sinister. It is not intentional but he becomes more malicious in appearance when he is in doctor mode.
He normally wears suits of various color in the Kou style and is constantly throwing clothes out due to his aversion to blood. He also keeps great care of what hair he has left and wears a gleaming pair of spectacles.

History: Born in the land of Reim and as a magician has never had much standing for the man known as Florence Nightingale. He never pursued studying magic despite having the ability to. He saw that and his Reim heritage as more of a burden than anything else. Why must he see these annoying birds everywhere he goes and why must he show Allegiance to the land he was born in? Because of his personality and not feeling like he belonged, the young Nightingale never got along with other kids. In fact, they started to ridicule him immensely when he started to grow bald at the age of 13.
Once he was an adult he moved to the land of Kou and found the love and enjoyment of gardening. There he met a woman who owned a plant shop that focused on flowers but also various medicinal herbs. They ended up marrying and having several kids, grandkids and even a couple of great grandkids. He had lived long enough that he lost a few kids and grandkids but was still having a happy and long life. His family took a big hit during the Kou civil war and they ended up losing his wife in a fire that was set by some woman who led a small time cult at the time. Yet they kept going and kept being a happy and spread out family.
Eventually, Nightingale got sick and was on his death bed. This was when an unknown apothecary and physician came and cured him of what most could not. It was a painful healing process and he thought he was going to die. This time of pain became almost transcendental to the gardener as he had finally found his true meaning in life. It was not these plants or even this loud and clingy family of his. It was to heal humanity of the pain that it is suffering. This age was full of death and illness and it was his fate to be the medicine.
With this he wasted no time in leaving his large family without so much as a word or letter going to pursue being a doctor and finally learning how to use magic.
Role-Play Sample: "Hello there young ma'am. I am your physician today, Doctor Nightingale but you can just call me Faust." They old man smiled in a way that seemed to calm the woman and make her feel better. "Thank you Doctor, i am sorry i just never been comfortable with doctors" "oh that is understandable. I am not either. But i will try to be as kind and gentle as I can" This was something the man meant with all of his heart and soon the woman would know how twisted these words were.
In a flash, vines would wrap around her limbs securing her to the bed as she struggled against them "Dont worry dear, i know this seems scary but truly it is to keep you safe!" He said as he pulled out a series of blades as he hunched over the woman, rubbing his hands together.
Screams would be heard throughout the night until the next day when the woman left in a hurry. Scared but completely Healthy.
