The assassin turned teacher and master found himself inside of the barn for his sumo student by the name of Shou, the former farmer. However, the elderly magician was not here for training his two students in the art of sumo wrestling. Instead it was the elderly man that would be taking lessons this time, ones that were made by him, for him. He had been stagnant in his trainings since well before the disastrous Kina festival all that time ago now. It wasn’t so much that he had weaken but neither had he improve at all as a magician. He was someone who should be constantly learning new magic and spells but here he was focused on others instead of himself. He would chuckle at this line of thought, in his former life he would only focus on himself, generalizing in spells that were made specifically for assassination.

So for the first part of his training was to decide what kind of magic he wanted to use. Right now he was skilled in sound and light and specializing in lightning. These were all great for assassination and that was how he used them up to this point. However, he was no longer in that way of life, his amnesia and reflection on his past had made him decide to go down the path of a teacher instead. His whole adventure in the isolated island country of Kina had made him decide to help nurture the young people of this world instead of snuffing them out. He had also decided to take a vow of no killing in order to make up for his whole life worth of killing. So he could no longer use spells that killed so instead he would attempt to use spells that disrupt, distract and defend. His current magic types that he has access two was great for that, all of them could be used to attack and effect the senses. So that is where he would start.

Of the 8 magic types that existed 5 of them were suited greatly for what he wanted to handle as a teacher. The three that he already had and the other two were water and wind. Wind was perfect for barriers or affecting movement while water would work greatly with light magic. Life could help as well but that was closer to creation or poison making, heat and strength were all suited best for attacking or spells that he was just not all that interested in dealing with at this exact moment. So this would mean that his next magic types would end up being wind and water which seemed like they could work well together.

First would be focusing on learning about water magic and how to use it. He vaguely remembers using this type of magic in the past but it was used in a much more heinous way. This time would be much different. He would sit down and begin to meditate on what he was planning to do. Magic was all about trying to figure out the nature of the magic and the formulae that accompany the magic to use it. Water was something that was gentle but also a great hateful beast. It was figuring out how to tame that raging beast as well as how to draw out and best use its gentle side. However, water was not just something that existed in rivers and various bodies of liquid. It was something that existed in all life and in air that we breath. Water was something that was all around us in this world. He would spend day after day acknowledging this fact that he knew. This was how he normally would learn magic before he learned actual abilities. Feeling out the nature of the type in its normal state, along with the rukh that tends to accompany that type of magic. It would still take the elderly man about a week to get a good feel for this type of magic.

Before he could attempt to use this in a practical sort of training he would start learning wind type the same way he just handled water magic. Now this was a type of magic that he had no previous experience with at all. Wind was also quite a bit more difficult than water when it came to learning about it’s true nature. Wind did not exist in the bodies of people like water but it was all around us in the air and atmosphere. Wind was what helped assist the living of all life. While water was the source of life wind was the force that moved rain clouds to water the land, wind was also what help spread seeds and pollen that would make plants grow. While wind did not reside in people it helped carry the air that people needed to breathe. But it also helped fan out poisonous fumes so that the air is safe to breathe. While it helped with life it also brought life to an end. Wind could become dangerous storms such as hurricanes and cyclones, storms of massive size that wrought destruction everywhere that they went. This was what the true nature of wind actually was. This would take two weeks of meditation and thought to figure out before he felt like he could possibly use it.

The following week would be spent attempting to actually use both types of magic. This would prove to be a lot easier to the aged man due to the fact that he spent time to learn the nature of the magic types. He would practice by just using simple spells of manipulation and creation. For water this would be making it form from the air and moving it around him then having it freeze into it’s solid state of ice. With wind he would move around leaves that had fallen, lifting them up into the air or using the wind to tear leaves in half. This took a week till he started to get a decent hang
of the magic types. Once he was done with this he would leave the barn taking a well deserved rest afterwards.
