Gilles was feeling restless being cooped up inside of these stuff walls of the magic city known as Magnostadtt. It had been a slow process trying to make their presence clear and known throughout the country. She had been spending quite a while in this country trying to convert the populace to her religion, the Order of the Flames Reach. Too be honest she began to feel like she was spending too much time here in the land of the magician race. She felt that it was taking too long due to a series of setbacks such as losing her inner circle and spending time in Helio as well as her dealings in Magno. However, She was now focusing her full energy on her dealings in Magnostaddt before returning back to Helio to finish up there. In order for her to due that she would need power, it was time for her to gain that.

She had decided it was time for her to learn what was the full extent of this power she still did not fully understand, the power of the dark djinn Bertilak. She had somehow been given the dark metal vessel made of metal fibers in the shape of a cowl from a strange man who called himself the Contractor. The man known as Connie labeled himself as something called a Magi which she did not actually know anything about. He had given her the magical item in a dream where she was joined by two others who were given similar items known as metal vessels. These were weapons of great power that were supposed to be similar to the power granted by the mysterious monoliths called dungeons. She had slowly learned more about it and unlocked the capabilities of said weapon but could tell that there was still so much more to it.

So here she was heading out the gates of the walled city once again. Her destination was the isolated spot in the plains, a few kilometers away from the city so that she could train in peace. This just so happened to be the same place that she had been going in order to train ever since she had arrived in this country. She found it to be peaceful, away from the bustle of the city and all of the shadows that followed her like loyal followers do. Most of the time her mind was always active, always thinking. There was a voice in her head that was always telling her to burn anything she can. Lately this voice has been screaming to her, louder than usual because she had not done much burning since the country of Kou. However, it has quieted a bit after the battle in helio that she had participated in. Due to the voice she would occasionally find a peaceful place where she can calm down a bit and act like a person most of the world is unaware of. She was still delusional and unhinged but she could outwardly pass for someone normal in the way she held herself in this state of mind.

Once she has arrived at the location she would go to a lone him in the plains where she liked to train. She would sit on the hilltop with her legs crossed and he eyes closed while her hands placed the fabric woven from metallic fibers onto her head. This was the dark metal vessel that was known by the name of Bertilak. She was not really sure where the name came from or why that was the chosen name but she was not the type to get hung up on such trivial things. The only thing that mattered to the woman of the flame was that Bertilak was her vessel for gaining power through her lord so that they can make this world a better place. Her goal was to bring true bliss and peace to this cruel world that screams in agony and pain. This world so longed to be bathed in a sea of flames like its numerous siblings that live in the sky. It was the task of the high priestess and the Flames reach to turn the planet into a new star, covered in fire.

However, now it was time for her to focus and tor train. After clearing her thoughts for a brief moment she would stand up and activate her vessel starting with just the basic mode of the weapon. The first stage being the weapon equip. Sure she could have focused on the base form but that was only for simple spells and combat so there was not much point in training with it. However, with her weapon equip stage she could work with it for a bit while she tried to figure out how she would achieve the next stage of the djinn’s form. She had not used this form much since she has achieved it so it was necessary for her to refamiliarize herself with the form and maybe this would give her a realization for later.

With her weapon equip activated her cowl undergoes a wild transformation. Contrary to the name it does not actually take the form of a weapon but one of a habit often seen worn by women of a religious nature. It would gleam in the sunlight as the black metallic fibers fluttered in the wind. However, this would be the most mild part of the transformation. Along with the change of the cowls appearance 4 arms would magical grow from her torso. Although grow was a poor chose of words as they were made of bright, crimson flames that jutted out from her back. These arms could rather be fire or ice but that was something she had to choose when she first activated this stage of the vessel. She would control the arms, moving them here and there trying to get a good feel of them. It was strange using arms made of magic when she had long lost one of hers made of flesh that she was born with.

When she felt that she had a good feel of the arms again she would return to meditating, this time trying to focus solely on Bertilak, still resting on her head. She could not exactly converse with it since it was not a person in the sense that she was, but she felt that the best way for her to get an understanding of the vessel would be through this method. She would focus her addled mind on the object, occasionally feeding it her limited supply of magoi that her body contains. She would continue to do this until she had drained herself of all her magoi she could without killing herself. Her body would collapsed to the ground as she no longer had enough energy to move. She found it difficult to even keep her eyelids from closing till the inevitably do, sending her into a deep sleep.

She would continue this type of training for five days straight. Clearing her mind in the morning, using her weapon equip lightly, then meditating till she exhausted herself. She did not feel like she was getting much of an understanding, that is until the fifth night. That night she had a dream that she would later equate to a vision gifted to her by her god. In this so called vision she was donned in a suit of armor made out of ice with a halo of fire over her head. This was quite a marvelous form that she found great joy and splendor in. Coming out of her back was her arms of fire but this time they were doubled in number, being eight in total now. She saw herself using an unrelenting barrage of fists from her eight hands, burning everything that she touched. She also could see something else, an ability on such a scale that she had never seen the likes of before. Well that last part was not exactly correct, she saw a glimpse of two such spells at the battle of the sea, she was just not aware what they were at the time. However, once she was woken from the dream she would not be able to clearly remember what the extreme magic she used in the dream was. Yet she was certain that she would remember once she had gained access to her full equip.

On the sixth day she would begin meditation again but this time she would use this to do a sort of image training that she was taught to use by her master. She would grin to herself as she thought about the old man. He was an old knight who had never made it to the rank of major knight but he taught her everything he knew about Body manipulation. He taught her something that the stuffy knights never could, to embrace her reckless nature and fight in any way that would ensure her a victory. He taught her that when she was unable to train her abilities in the open or due to physical harm that the best way was to use image training.

She already knew what it had felt like to activate her weapon and the feel of the arms that emerged from her body. So it would not prove to be incredibly difficult to imagine herself with more arms and controlling those. However, what would prove to be troublesome was activating the full body equip. She could feel in her dream that the suit of ice armor was not just her armor but part of her body as well, as if a second set of skin. She would imagine herself moving and fighting with the armor like skin and the 8 arms of fire and ice. She would spend the next week working solely on this type of mental training. She could slowly feel herself begin to understand her metal vessel even better and felt as she was getting close to being able to use the full potential of her gift.

Once the week was over she would attempt to activate the full equip mode. She would begin to pour all of her magoi into the vessel trying to force the full equip to activate. She would exhaust herself once more feeling that it did not work like she had wanted. The next day she would try this again and the next. One the third day she would achieve what she was looking to obtain. She found herself shouting words she had not actually thought of saying, “Grasp the world in your hands, Bertilak!” Due to the injury she was forced to inflict upon herself she found it extremely painful to utter these words in anything more than a mere whisper. At these words she would feel herself transform, her body heating up inside of herself while her exterior became freezing cold. A hard layer of ice overs her body in the form of a suit of armor, becoming part of her body more so then another layer of clothing. Finally there was a halo made of a bright, blazing fire, right behind her head. Spouting out from her back were the 8 burning arms that she had imagined in her dream she was given.

She would grin as she had achieved her goal, it only took a couple of weeks for her to activate her full equip. She could feel her body brimming with power and could remember the abilities that had been lost to her in her vision. She even was able to remember the Extreme magic that would serve as the trump card for this form, a weapon of mass destruction that will bring the grace of her lord down to those who sorely need it.

Once she was done with this she would deactivate her power and stumble to the ground. She had finished what she had came here to do and it was time for her to head home.
