Opponent:

Julius entered the Coliseum, he signed up to take on his second match here. In the heat of all the destruction, he had done to Reim he wished to test his swordsmanship against another blade user. There was an older man who seen better days but his experience was surely something he was willing to test his skills against. Of course, this would not be something he would do without the aid of his magic. His sword training was still in its beginning state and needed to be better trained. He did not wish to die or lose a fight for relying on something so simple as pride or ignorance of his weakness.

Julius was signed up with the name Red Demon. He thought it fitting with his suit and mask, his diseased god fang resting on his hip. The man taking his application sheet would see the name and look up and thought it to be fitting with the strange masked horn and odd armor. The man was something straight out of a story. Julius made way to the barracks, taking a seat on a bench. He simply just waited until his name was called by the announcer.

The Magician spoke to no one, he had done enough speaking last time he was here with the young man. Back when he was human when he first arrived in Reim before he even started on this campaign to take the cities down. He heard his name after a few hours of waiting, well the name he gave the man anyway. As much as he would enjoy fighting under his true name, he did not wish to battle so many people at once to simply test his sword skills.    There will come a time when he reveals himself here, and make the people who watched this blood bath pay for their greed of man's blood.  Julius found the easy access to fighting nice, and he understood why warriors would sign up, however, if he didn't have the power of his magic and Durable armor and bones, he would not be so confident at the moment.

Julius made it to the gate, he stared across at the old man who opposed him today. He was grateful for the man agreeing to fight him and so he wouldn't kill him.  When the announcements were done, Julius watched the cage in front of him lift as he prepared himself for battle.  Julius exited his gate and walked towards the center of the arena. The old man Rufus did the same until they met in the center. Julius took a small bow as Rufus gave a small head nod. Julius reached down and drew his Diseased God Fang, Rufus would match his efforts drawing his sword and lifting his shield.

Rufus decided to start things off with his Forward Cleave Leaping towards Julius and swinging his blade downward, if Julius had a parry this would be the time to use it, but he had no idea how to use the parry properly to use such a technique. Julius tried to sidestep but he took the damage in the shoulder portion of his armor.  Julius felt the strength and wight of the attack, it was a good thing he had the armor beefed up since he has gotten it.  To prevent Rufus from gathering momentum Julius Swung his Diseased God Fang, the strike was fast but not one of his techniques that he had mastered. Rufus countered with Sliding Board. Julius' blade slides off the shield as Rufus motioned to get behind Julius, the battle would be over if he allowed Rufus to get behind him.

Julius gathered his magoi throughout his body as he spoke his command to the Ruhk. "Lightning Reflex"  black lighting would course over his body as he took a single step moving 20 meters away from Rufus. When Rufus turned around Julius was gone from striking distance.

Julius peered at the man from behind his mask, the look in Rufus' eyes said it all. It was like he knew he was no longer in control of the fight, Julius felt a bit guilty. Anyone could learn the ways of the sword, but only some had the talent or dedication to become masters, however, anyone could pick up a sword and swing it. Magic on the other hand one had to be 'blessed' by the ruhk or loved in other cases.  It was an unfair advantage to be a swordsman and a magician. Something rare and well, downright devastating to those who had to face such beings in person. Though Julius was a cut above the rest, even the Magi he had met was not on his level on deadly casting for Julius no longer needed to hold his wand or any conductor for his magic, it was part of him. He was the conductor, this allowed for freehand casting while easily swinging and moving his blade with ease.

His chest lifted and sunk as if the skeleton within the red armor would take a deep breath.  Julius would gather his magoi as he spoke a series of commands to the Ruhk. "Lightning blade, Heat Blade, Repelling strike. "

Lifting his blade to his cheek Julius took another step as he scaled Lightning Reflex
traveling in a dash instantly crossing 5 meters, Jigen-ryu Strike  would be used buffed by his two spells, Lightning Blade and Heat blade. The commands he had given the ruhk and combining them with his magoi had made his sword glow with a read heat bond to the blade with strength magic-making in compressed and deadly, but on top of that, the length of his blade seemed to grow as black lightning trickled over it and extended his striking reach by 3 meters.  Rufus had enough experience to know what was coming, but when he lowed his own sword to prevent the hit, a Magnetic pulse pushed out from  The Red Armored Samurai pushing his blade away allowing Julius' attack to land, slicing the old man with enough combined damage to kill just about anyone.

To break it down, the sword's edge was enough to slice through bone, the black lightning was medium grade magic that applied Arc burn of C tier damage as the lightning sung around the blade, then there was the Heat blade spell, the combine magics of Heat and Strength forced the compressed heated up blade to deal B tier damage and level 3rd degree burns across where it had slashed.   When it would be said and done, Julius had left the man badly burn where he had cut him down the chest.

Julius swung his blade to the side before placing it back into the sheath. He then turned to the dead man before him and bowed in respect. Rufus might have died but he showed the growing swordsman that he had a lot to learn.
