The user draws their sword and slashes at a target and returns the blade to its sheath in one, fluid motion. The slash is made in whatever direction the blade is facing upon being drawn, though generally the slash is diagonal by 45 degrees for convenience. The slash arcs 180 degrees across the user, damaging anything in the way. When scaling, the number of slashes made before sheathing is doubled.
The user spreads magoi through their body. The magoi is then concentrated above the skin and hardened for a flexible armor-layer which blocks up to A-tier damage. If the user loses balance, the magoi hardening becomes unstable and dissipates quicker than it can be replaced. When scaling, the number of armor-layers and/or body parts covered is doubled. Each armor-layer provides A-tier defense.
Sorry about my earlier post. If you don't know what I'm talking about, then don't worry about it. Simply put; I was in a grouchy mood and therefore posted a grouchy post.

Anyway, Magi Manipulation abilities always have high cooldowns (7 posts).

I thought I had already mentioned the defensive power of an armor-layer, but just in case I didn't; I added a sentence at the end that specifies an armor-layer's defensive power.

Where in the rules does it state that magoi manipulation must have high cooldowns?

Also, magoi wouldn't create an air-tight seal, nor would it make a steam effect like the one you mention.

Lastly, pick a more confined area for this magoi shield to form. Covering your entire ability is brokenly unfair.

I swear...the rules change about as often as I look at them...

Changed the tier upon further inspection of the class system. Cooldown subsequently changed, too. Granted, this ability is probably going to be forced to A-tier because of the complexity, but I've got a couple questions before that edit happens;

What specifically do you mean by "wouldn't create an air-tight seal"? Like, what kinds of magic are able to bypass the ability?

Why can't there be "steam" that isn't actually water vapor? The effect is purely meant to be aesthetic and force the name of the ability to be relevant.

The ability is actually fine as it is, except for the constantly releasing and replacing magoi part. That would essentially mean you are wasting tons and tons of magoi and would require that you add to the cost of this ability as a drawback since that's the logical result of doing something like that with your magoi. Since there is no reason for you to have this effect and the drawback it brings along other than to "force" the name of the ability to make sense, I suggest you remove it.

When I say the ability wouldn't create an air-tight seal, I don't mean to imply that certain types of abilities will pass through the shield. I brought that point up because you seem to think there is some kind of need to let your skin breath. Your skin can breath, it's just magoi. It's pure energy. While it can create force on things effectively acting as a "hardened shield" it's not actually physical.

The reason why you can't have the steam effect is because that's not how magoi works. It's being denied for the same exact reason why I would deny someone a sword slash warrior ability that makes their weapon glow with a bright blue light. It's because that's not how sword slashes work in the magi universe. This isn't sword art online in the case of sword slashes and in the case of you wanting to produce steam, your ability isn't Luffy's gear second from one piece.

You're much better of just changing the ability name than trying to argue for flavor text that doesn't make sense in the context of the universe we are rping in.

lol yeah, Luffy's Second Gear is where I unintentionally drew inspiration from :3

Alright, so I changed the name. I guess the name is kinda cooler now~

Took out what needed to be taken out (aka the trash).
