Resubmission of Bahir MovD1xz
Name: Bahir
Country Affiliation: Wanderer
Race: Fanalis
Tier: B
Class: Assassin - Primary; Warrior - Secondary
Age + Birthdate: 21; January 3rd
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Personality: Bahir isn't that complex of an individual... on the surface. The young Fanalis is a rather social person. Upon meeting new people, Bahir would do his best to keep a conversation going, unless he has a good reason to not like a person. He has been taught proper manners and tries his best to use them when dealing with most people. His social air is rather forced, in all honesty. While he does talk to people, he would much rather listen. If he would have to start a conversation, it would be a truly awkward situation.

When Bahir is dealing with attractive members of the opposite sex, his awkwardness multiplies. He fumbles over his words and often times doesn't make coherent sense. He tends to become more blunt with them, even if what he is saying is hardly recognizable.

However, when Bahir is on a "job," he is a completely different person. He is cold and distant to people that he comes in contact with. His ideas of mercy and manners disappear and he is completely goal oriented. If there are obstacles in his way, he will do what he has to do to complete his mission. This makes him seem like an asshole to most people. Interestingly enough, most people do not know Bahir as "Bahir" when he gets like this. He goes by his alias "Shadow" to try and keep his business and social lives different.

No matter if Bahir is on business, enjoying casual small talk, or conversing with attractive women, he shares the Fenalis trait of having a short temper. Granted, he has tried to work up his tolerance with people. Unfortunately, the results of his efforts have, so far, been barely recognizable.

Reading: Bahir is a quiet man, essentially. So most of the things he learns are either from listening to others or reading. He has a large number of books in his small home and spends the majority of his free time with them.
Training: Despite his quiet nature, Bahir is a fighter, and a fighter has to train to be successful. He also happens to just love pushing himself to the physical limit. These combined are the excuse he gives for training. He treats it as seriously as any of his jobs.
Exploring: Everyone has that adventurous tingle at some point in his or her life. Bahir happens to feel this tingle a lot. Ever since he traveled to Reim with his father and returned to Balbadd, Bahir tends to have strong desires to just pack up and leave, at random times, to different countries. The main one being the Kou Empire.
Combat Prowess: Bahir, being of Fanalis descent, has developed a strong respect for those who are able to hold their own in battle. Whether it be in one-on-one combat or on the field of battle, if you can handle yourself, Bahir respects you.
Lazy people: A strong work ethic had been ingrained in Bahir's mind. It is almost inconceivable that some people wouldn't have that, at least to him. When he meets people who are outright lazy, he can't help but to become aggravated.
Rudeness: Who likes it when people are rude to you? Not many people can enjoy that. Bahir isn't one of those people. He has almost a zero tolerance with rude people, but he is a Fanalis... what doesn't he have a zero tolerance for?

Aspirations: A lot has happened in the young life of the adventurous Fanalis. Unfortunately, for the majority of this life, a goal was never really something he thought about or could even put his finger on. Now, finally, he has something to work towards. Something that will keep him alive until he can reach out and grasp the goal. His aspiration? To see his father dead. The truth to his childhood has finally been revealed to Bahir, and now he wants revenge for the events that happened that day in Reim. The only acceptable retribution? His father's death.

Phobias/fears: Bahir's main fear is being in tightly enclosed space. Bedrooms and bathrooms are fine, but anything similar to a cage breaks him down. This also extends to extremely narrow hallways. The small handful of people who know this about Bahir, like to attribute the phobia to be due to him not wanting to be enslaved. Bahir doesn't agree with them. He's not sure himself why he has this fear. All he knows is that he doesn't like them.

Face-Claim: Demon Eyes Kyo from Demon Eyes Kyo
Hair Color: Red
Eye Color: Red
Height: 189cm (6'2")
Weight: 86kg (189lbs)
Appearance: Bahir's body has been groomed into a fairly well oiled machine. Though he is not overly bulky, has an impressive amount of muscle mass that makes up for the majority of his weight. His hair flows at an admirable length, ending right at his lower back.

Bahir's clothing is usually quite bland. He usually wears a dark colored shirt with a standing collar that is form fitted to his body with burgundy or black pants. When he is in a more formal setting, he adds a rode with gold trimmings.

When on a "job," Bahir wears an all black outfit. The shirt has a hood attached to it and the sleeves are extremely close to his skin. The pants aren't too baggy so that they don't rustle too much. He also uses a face mask that covers from the bridge of his nose that goes down his neck and tucks into the collar of his shirt. For this outfit, Bahir usually ties his hair back completely so that it isn't visible.
Rukh Alignment: White
Special Features: Bahir's body is now covered in scars. The bulk of his scars are on his arms and back. However, he does have a horizontal scar across his right pectoral and diagonally across his stomach.

History:To say that Bahir was born in Balbadd would be a lie. The Fanalis boy had no idea where he was born, in all honesty. The most sensible explanation would be that he was born on some road. While he is a full blooded Fanalis, he was not born in the dark country. He was given birth somewhere between Magnostadt and Balbadd, in a wagon. Before long, the family had set up in Balbadd. They found a place to live, and his father found stable work. Everything was fine!

When Bahir was around the age of ten, his father started to teach him how to fight like a Fanalis. Of course, Bahir noticed his innate differences from other people immediately, but his father went a step beyond and taught him how to control himself. "Being strong is pointless if you smash everything in sight." was a saying that his father would always tell him. It never made sense to Bahir. As far as he was concerned, you got strong TO smash things. Either way, Bahir was a good child and obeyed his father. It was around this same time, that Bahir's mother started to teach him the basics of reading and writing.

Bahir's teenage years were the most interesting. His mother died of natural causes when he was thirteen and his father became a much bigger part of his life. His training became more intense and he almost couldn't handle it. Within two weeks of him becoming fourteen, he and his father relocated. They moved to the Reim empire and attempted to make a living there. Along with his father, Bahir fought to make money. It went well for the longest time, and eventually, they were called upon for some more devious jobs. Assassinations.

The assassin duo had a successful run throughout Reim and Heliohapt. On one of the missions, however, Bahir was wounded and his father did what he had to do to let him escape. He pushed his son off of the coast and was left to the mercy of their pursuers. Bahir was pulled aboard a trade ship and when he came to, he was back in Balbadd. He found his way to the home of a close friend of the family's and started taking up jobs around the city. They weren't as extreme as the assassinations from Reim, but they were just as sneaky: spying, stealing, scouting... with the occasional assassination. It wasn't long before the Fanalis started to go by the name "Shadow" to keep himself separated from his jobs. Despite what happened to his father in Reim, Bahir tries to continue on like nothing is wrong. Living with his "uncle," has let him do a bit of reading and still keep up in the fun stuff.

A few years later, Bahir made his way to Reim, hoping to find some clues about the men who killed his father. He began his journey out small, taking up small jobs here and there. He eventually found his way into the company of a few friends. His first friend in Reim was his most trying introduction.

Bahir met a halfling, a fanalis and human hybrid, by the name of Ayero. Shehelped him get his bearings in the large country. She even helped him make a bit of Huang in the process. Through her, he met a number of people that made a huge impact on his life. In particular, he met the former Emperor of Reim, Lagi El Nagi, one afternoon through her.

The young fanalis couldn't believe what his life was turning in to at this point in his life. He even enlisted in helping the Reim rebellion against the Kou army. On this field of battle, he met many more remarkable magicians and soldiers. He started to realize how large the world truly was and it drove him to further his skills. Unfortunately, the occasional assassination wasn't enough. He needed a form of work that would help him to constantly improve. His eyes landed upon the Emperor of Reim once more. The two met and came to an accord: Bahir would serve as Lagi's shadow, his assassin, his right hand.

His relationship with the Emperor began to foster at an alarming rate. Lagi was easily the young fanalis' best friend. Serving that closely with someone for so long would drive that kind of relationship to develop. Bahir was so close to the Emperor that many of the officials began to call him "The King's Shadow." He was able to even dress up as the Emperor whenever he didn't want to deal with anyone and act as if he was Lagi.

It wasn't long before a new military faction started to form in Reim. Of course, Bahir was in the middle of it as well. Lagi was forming a new corps to help protect the citizens and relieve some stress from the rekindling fanalis corps. Bahir, without hesitation took up the mantle of Colonel beneath Lagi. He even went as far as to train his own network of spies and spread them throughout the continent so that he and Lagi could keep informed on all of the things happening in Reim.

Then Bahir's world turned upside down. During his tenure as the Unity Corps colonel, he discovered that there were assassins throughout Reim after his head. Upon chasing down one of the assassins, Bahir discovered the mastermind behind the attacks: his own father. Bahir was conflicted by this and wrote a letter to Lagi to excuse him for a while so that he could go to train and prepare himself for whatever may happen.

During this training, Bahir runs into a man that he met during the war and is taught form gladiatorial fighting. By the end of his training, Bahir returned to Reim to find out that Lagi had been kidnapped. Of course, having supposed to be Lagi's Shadow and protect him, Bahir blamed himself for the kidnapping. During this time, Bahir became a hollow shell of himself. One day, Bahir was ambushed and before he knew it, he had lost consciousness.

Bahir had been captured by a group of assassins. He finally awakes to see his new surroundings, his senses slowly coming back to him...

Role-Play Sample:
Old-y, but a good-y:
Bahir watched as the men and women scrambled through the obstacle course. The fanalis couldn't help but snicker at their antics. Thankfully, all of them passed the agility and dextrous portions of the obstacle course with flying colors. Their main problem came about in the physical strength portion. However, this was what Bahir was expecting. The man crossed his arms as he waited on his students to continue their push ups and pull ups. The sight was starting to evolve from amusing to discouraging. I'm going to need to work them a bit more than I imagined. He thought to himself. There was one of the group that didn't show frailty. It was the fanalis girl. She completed the obstacle course with impressive speed, surprising the assassin a bit.

The girl stood in front of Bahir, her breathing slightly heavier. Her eyes and Bahir's met for a moment. He could feel a bit of familiarity from them. She was suspicious of him still. Bahir didn't back down and held the eye contact for a moment before the rest of the men and women made their way over to the two. This girl... Hmph. He nodded to her and then turned to face the rest of the group. He let them to their devices for only a moment, to let them get a hold of their breathing, and began to address them. "Good. You finished the obstacle course, but we're not done for the day." The fanalis was met by a collective groan. The sound of disappointment secretly pleased him. They weren't broken... yet. Bahir couldn't decide if they would need to be or not. Why not? He was broken down in his initial training...

Bahir smiled at the group and spread his legs until his feet were shoulder width apart. "Hey now! No bellyaching! You will become the deadliest, most efficient, and most crucial group of people in Reim. IF you have the right attitude. That groaning and moaning isn't gonna cut it. Take pride in your training. When I'm finished with you, this will be nothing. You'll be faster and stronger than you ever thought you could be."

Bahir watched as the group's faces started to lift a bit. There wasn't excitement on their faces, but there was no longer a feeling of doubt or unwillingness. "Good. Now that you understand the weight of this training, your next task. Now I want you all to pair up and spar amongst each other. This will be a tournament style exhibition. The last man, or woman, standing will spar with me. I'm getting bored." The group started to murmur among themselves. It was mostly centered around the possibility of fighting two fanalis in one day. Bahir stood at the front, waiting on them to calm down. He knew that they would eventually. The shock doesn't last long... supposedly.

Once the rumblings had silenced, Bahir paired the eight people into four groups of two. Watching as they each fought. It was difficult, but he watched each fight. In hind sight... I probably should have had the fights happen one at a time. He thought to himself as his eyes darted back and forth from the fights. There was an interesting amount of potential in this group. They all had their own way of fighting. Hm... I won't change a thing. The variety will help in the long run. Hostile spies won't be able to accurately prepare for a way to fend them off.

Bahir was starting to get excited. Seeing them all give what they had in the tournament was heart warming. Before he knew it, the first round was done. Before they could group up once more, Bahir stepped forward to intervene. "Alright, alright. That's enough for today. We'll continue tomorrow." With that, the group of trainees helped their downed comrades back to their feet and they started to set up camp. Bahir assisted them in the building of the fire and shared with them provisions that he packed, including a bit of ale. This was a good first day. Can't wait to see what they continue to bring to the table. He thought as the sun began to set.
