Xiang's Vault 27754646561BE00B0C49A9
Name: Xiang Yijun
Country Affiliation: Kou
Race: Human
Tier: D - Tier
Class: Warrior
Age + Birthdate: 20, September 27th
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Heterosexual

Personality: To most who see Xiang from afar they would believe him to be a solemn and somber individual, and, while that may be true from time to time, they would be surprised to find that it is simply the way his face manifests as a neutral expression. He is more reserved than outgoing but is not exactly a shy person, simply preferring to keep to the sidelines rather than being the center of attention. He keeps to himself mostly in order to avoid all the fuss that comes with being popular, although he's sure he'd never be considered as such anyway. Xiang's people skills also aren't the most impressive, being a bit more curt than he'd like to be at times he often finds himself having to apologize for causing offence or hurting someone's feelings. He especially has this trouble when dealing with superiors and those of nobility, which definitely leads to him getting into all sorts of trouble. Xiang isn't a bad guy, he just operates under his own ideals, and one key thing is respect. To him it has to be earned instead of being handed out to anyone with an outstretched arm and most of those on top don't look at the people below them with any sort of respect. As such this causes Xiang to butt heads with people. He's also very diplomatic despite his appearance being of one who takes to the battlefield, if a situation can be resolved without resorting to violence then he'll always advocate for that. Do not misunderstand though, Xiang is not a pacifist nor is he a pushover, being more than capable of rising to whatever challenges or situations present themselves to him. At the end of the day even if he might have to do something he'd rather not he will if it is absolutely necessary, someone has to after all. Despite how intimidating he might come across as Xiang is actually a rather kind person, getting along well with children and enjoying being surrounded by nature and the company of animals. He also quite likes being able to laugh and making friends although he doesn't usually find himself in much of a position to do either. At the very least there's much more to Xiang than meets the eye but at the same time he isn't a very difficult person to figure out, anyone who bothers to get to know him would see he's a pretty swell guy.

Likes:

  • Autumn: Of all the seasons this is Xiang's favorite both because of the cool temperature which he's fond of and because of the amalgamation of beautiful colors as far as the eye can see.

  • Small Things: Xiang has a strange fixation on things that are particularly small, whether it be children or small animals or even cute trinkets just the mere sight of them tends to to fill him with joy.

  • Festivals: Strangely enough Xiang quite likes various celebrations and festivities, the way people treat each other is much more kind and there's all sorts of wonder to be seen and fun to be had. With so many people it's also easier for him to simply blend in and enjoy himself.

  • Tea: Xiang will probably be the last person to turn down the offer of tea, feeling a sense of peace when enjoying it and not wanting to react poorly to someone's hospitality

Dislikes:

  • Entitlement: Xiang finds a certain distaste for those who carry themselves as if the world owes them anything. In his eyes whatever a person has should be earned in some form of way not just handed out for the sake of it.

  • Negligence: As someone who has proved himself to be capable in some way he believes it is his duty to do for those who are unable to do for themselves and as such other should as well. As far as Xiang is concerned someone in a position of power should do for those under them instead of abandoning or casting them aside, he has no respect or mercy for those kinds of people.

  • The Ocean: Xiang feels a certain discomfort when having to travel by boat across the waters always being on edge and ready to react at a moments notice should something occur. The world can be a rather dangerous place and the waters that circle the globe are a lawless place. However he doesn't have much issue with being at the water side at a beach or port.

  • Slavery: Each and every person should be in control of their own lives and be able to make their own decisions for themselves, violating such rights is inexcusable. The fact that people in this world believe it is acceptable to buy and sell another human as if they were common goods makes Xiang sick.

Aspirations:

  • Peace: In war there are no victors, only the losers and survivors, and Xiang has no interest in being either. Glory is an illusion paid for by the blood of the fallen and coveted because of it's ability to wash away the guilt of what has been done. Xiang hopes to be able to lead not only his country to peace but possibly the whole world, and although it might go against some of his beliefs he'll do what he feels he must in order to reach that goal. If he can succeed then no one else has to suffer needlessly.

  • Seeing The World: As a more selfish dream Xiang wishes to see the world and everything is has to offer, not only the great scenery and architecture of various countries and civilizations but also the interesting and wonderful people he'll meet along the way. Taking in the culture and just developing an understanding of the world in which he lives sounds like a fantastic and amazing experience.

Phobias/fears:

  • Atychiphobia: Xiang has a slight fear that despite his best efforts he will be unable to achieve his goals or his dreams and will ultimately be seen as a failure.

  • Athazagoraphobia: Tying in with his previous fear Xiang fears that if it were to come true that he will be forgotten by those around him and his name will quickly fade from the world without any sort of sign that he had ever been alive.

  • Taphophobia: Although it might be a bit strange Xiang finds a certain uncomfortableness with the idea of being buried alive and would much rather avoid such a situation if possible.

Face-Claim: Nagasone Kotetsu (Touken Ranbu)
Hair Color: Black & Blonde towards the lower back
Eye Color: Amber
Height: 191.37 cm
Weight: 92.56 kg

Appearance: Xiang is a fairly attractive man, not being the largest around but still relatively big and muscular but what probably garners people's attention more than anything is how strangely pale he is. Appearing somewhat sickly Xiang is actually of perfect health, his body simply doesn't take to absorbing melanin from the sun and tanning giving the idea that either he's sick or simply never goes out. His hair is mostly black except for the lower backside being blonde and his eyes have an amber coloring to them. His choice of attire gives away his profession and even during times of relaxation or common every day affairs he'll still be seen wearing it, showing that he is ready at any given moment should the need arise for him to take action. Around his neck is a small metal choker with a ribbon tied around it. Instead of wearing a shirt he simply wears an open white jacket with a few black straps wrapped around his chest in order to hold it in place. On his left shoulder is a large black metal guard in order to block attacks coming from the opposite of his dominant side. His pants are gray and tight fitting and depsite the appearance of them being plated are actually quite flexible and comfortable. From the knee down Xiang wears black metal guards that lead to his boots which are also quite sturdy. At all times he can be seen travelling with his katana on his person and feels incomplete without it.

Rukh Alignment: White
Special Features: N/A

History: Within the Yujin household respect and tradition were the very foundations on which the members built their lives. Not a particularly large family but each of them garnered at least some sort of respect in their respective fields. Xiang's father was a soldier, as so many men of Kou were, and served admirably when fulfilling his duties to the empire. He was stern but fair, not one to take credit for anything and always choosing to not bask in the glory but simply share it with his comrades and brethren. All in all he was an excellent role model for his son. Where his father taught more along the lines of ideals and other such lessons Xiang's mother helped to nurture him in the aspects of kindness and fairness to his fellow man. His parents did not care for their son to grow up to be a mighty hero or become an emperor but instead wished for him to be the best he could possibly be. From a young age he learned to look at the world objectively, there was no one way of being right or wrong but instead it was up to each person to decide those sorts of things for themselves. What caught his eye however was the behavior of the nobility, a stark contrast to what he was taught at home. It appeared that the world wasn't as kind as Xiang would have liked for it to be. Abuse of power was a way of showing that you had any power to begin with it seemed, high ranking commanders gave little slack towards their men and the nobles treated commoners with little respect. From what he understood the only way to make a change in the world was to do it yourself and that's exactly what he intended to do.

It took some time but Xiang was relentless in asking his father to teach him the way of the sword and how to be a proper soldier. The latter of the two would be simple enough but for the teachings of swordsmanship Xiang would be taught by his uncle. The two were rather different in ideals and appearance but they were family all the same and loved each other dearly, Xiang also held high respect for every member of his household and was more than happy to learn from whoever would be willing to teach him. Ever since he was little he knew that he'd have to serve in the military and as such decided to get as much training as possible before then. Most children spent their free time playing games and enjoying each other's company but Xiang practiced sword play and learning about combat maneuvers and war tactics. He was a relatively simply child with his heart in the right place. His love for his country was great but he knew it wasn't everything it could be. Time was relatively linear for him, life passed along rather simply and with age came improved reflexes and greater muscle and a wider understanding in order to become a better soldier. His family wanted to make sure he was doing all this because he absolutely wanted to, his life was his own and he'd be the one to make his own decisions for himself not for the sake of others. He assured him that this was the path he wished to follow.

Things changed a bit shortly before coming of age to join the military. Xiang's father was called on for a campaign in order to fight off some advancing forces, whether they were of another country or simple some bandits looking to pillage he was unsure of but nonetheless it seemed like great experience. Following along after the soldiers he eventually came face to face with a large battle, men were thrown about in heaps and there was so much blood, it was a harrowing sight, but instead of having a negative influence on Xiang it lit a fire within him. In the brief moments were timed seemed to stand still as arrows were launched and men charged forward for glory and hopes of living to see another day he reached a sort of clarity. This was only a small piece in the grand scheme of things, war was so much different than a skirmish like this and held so much more weight to it that he couldn't even imagine. But more importantly his philosophy changed. Conquest wouldn't ever amount to anything but more and more bloodshed, what Xiang wanted was for his family and his people to be happy and safe. He realized what he wanted was peace. But many probably shared in that want, but he vowed then and there in order to live his life so that peace would be achieved for the Kou Empire and possibly even the world. He also understood that in a person's life there come many times where what they must do acts against their ideals. But they must carry on and see things through to the end, they mustn't falter. Exiting the battlefield Xiang returned home to reflect on everything he'd seen and learned.

The day came for Xiang to enter the military and with a sense of clarity was more than happy to do so, he trained hard, kept his beliefs firm and always strove to do his part. Over the span of a couple of years he'd served in a couple of battles but didn't really ever let anything too great be attributed to his name, he learned from his father to not let such trivial things go to his head. Still this was only the starting point, the world was much larger than he could ever understand without seeing it himself and as such hoped to one day be able to explore every bit of it. He's got a long way to go before being able to realize his dream but if one thing was for certain it was that he was never going to give up.

Role-Play Sample: Amidst the chaos of battle Xiang had allowed himself a moment's reprieve, sitting quietly under a tree he tuned out the sounds of fighting and focused solely on any trace of nature he could pick up. Unsurprisingly there was nothing, the animals and insects had already cleared the area, the sounds of metal clashing against itself and flesh being gouged open resounded. Screams of pain and battle cries seemed to meld together to the point where it was just a symphony of chaos. Blood had stained the ground to the point where everything was a streak of crimson and the stench of death was just starting to well up. All in all it was poor of him to be on the sidelines during such a time, but the battle was already in their favor and would be over soon enough. Having to do any more at this point would be cruel. Xiang leaned back and enjoyed the shade, staring up at the sky he watched one lonely cloud drift along ever so gently as a signal of the only sort of peace and beauty to be found for probably a few miles.

The sound of something crunching caught his attention, his eyes darted lazily to the source to be greeted with the sight of a few men approaching him with weapons drawn. Hmm? Better off running at this point I'd say, things don't look too good for your side in this battle. One of them took a quick step forward but halted upon Xiang holding a hand up. Trust when I say that you don't want to do this. There is no glory or honor to be found here, choose life over such frivolous things or be forgotten as fools. Those are your options. At this point his words had sparked quite a bit of rage from the enemy soldiers, there were four of them in total and they just seemed to be bursting at the seams with the intent to remove Xiang's head from his body. You dare speak to us in such a way?! You're just a coward avoiding the battlefield because you fear for your pitiful life. Given the tone it seemed this man was the one taking charge of the group. You're just a damned snot nosed brat who needs to learn his place! Make your peace because this is where it ends for you. Another step and Xiang's gaze hardened, catching the men off guard they halted once again. Please. Don't make me do this. The men couldn't believe what they were hearing, on the one hand they wanted to laugh but at the moment so many veins were bulging from their necks and faces that they most they could muster were grunts and obscenities before charging towards Xiang.

Sighing loudly he quickly rose to his feet and drew his katana, a precious family heirloom that his uncle had passed down to him when he first left to join the military. Quickly closing the distance between himself and his attackers they were all surprised to see him move so quickly, with a quick and powerful one armed swing he cleaved clean through the ankles of the man to the far left. Before anyone could register what happened in their minds his body fell to the ground and a sharp and piercing scream was released before being silenced on account of Xiang plunging his katana straight into the man's brain. Raising back up to his feet he glanced at all the men who were currently surrounding him, fear quickly overtook them but they stood as firm as they could. I had already killed enough today. You brought all this on yourselves. Die you bastard! One of them charged forward and swung in a downward diagonal motion geared towards the right but Xiang parried the blow and charged into the man, slamming his metal guard into the soldiers face. There was a loud crack as his nose broke and a few teeth could be seen splintering about. Turning so that his back was facing the soldier Xiang gripped his blade with both hands and stabbed backwards, plunging it through the mans heart and killing him instantly. Removing the blade from the body with a quick swing all the newly acquired blood was now sprayed on the floor in an arc. The two remaining men were taken aback by this display, the leader still seemed as if he intended to fight but the other looked as if he'd reached his limit. Opening his mouth to speak Xiang quickly threw his katana, piercing through the back of his brain the man crumpled to the floor without so much as a word. Approaching the last one slowly the soldier backed up. Retrieving his blade from the corpse Xiang continued his advance. Damn you. I'll kill you just you wait, this is far from over. The cold piercing gaze Xiang had was enough to practically freeze the man's blood. With another step back the soldier felt himself collide with something, he'd pinned himself right against the tree Xiang had been leaning against earlier. Charging forward Xiang swung with all the force he could muster the soldier attempted to parry but it was no use, his sword was cut clean through and so was his spine. The soldiers severed head fell to the floor with a thump and just as quickly as it had began it was over. Cleaning off his blade on the dead soldiers clothes Xiang didn't feel the slightest bit of pity for this turn of events, he'd simply done what he had to do.

Hey Xiang! The enemy has surrendered and the battle is over! Turning to see a friend and comrade of his calling int he distance Xiang waved and smiled gingerly. Yes, yes I hear you! I'll be right there Guanro! Without so much as looking at his handiwork Xiang went on his way to regroup with his allies. The head of the last soldier he had slain had landed at an awkward angle and began to roll towards the direction of the other side of the tree. Reaching the end of the small hill it quickly gathered speed before coming to a sudden stop. What it had collided with was one of a few dozen corpses that were strewn about.
