Aayla’s life was beginning to head down a very strange path as of late… ever since she had started to travel with Jericho it seemed she was constantly faced with the hardships of her life as a slave. Every job they took, Aayla would find the influence of slavers, or see those very slaves milling about everywhere, doing their master's bidding without so much as looking you in the eye. She remembered those days quite clearly, she she swore to herself she would free as many of them as she could.

What she hadn’t thought of was just how she was going to do so… she could save up all of her earnings and buy a slave once she’d saved up enough, but then that would only free that 1 slave! She would never accomplish her goals if she went about it that way… not unless she was somehow able to come across a lot of money. Even then though, the slavers would always find more people to enslave. No, what Aayla needed to do to accomplish her goal was to abolish slavery in the Kou Empire! She would make it illegal here to own or to participate in any kind of slave trading.

These thoughts had been plaguing her mind for quite some time… even now, as Aayla picked the yellow bloom lilies for the Shu Temple, her mind was far away from her current task. She never even noticed the silver haired wolf that was stalking her. It wasn’t until the wolf lunged from it’s hiding spot that Aayla noticed it at all!

The wolf crashed against the red headed girl, knocking her back onto the ground and forcing her to drop all the lillies she had managed to gather. She quickly reached up to grab the wolf’s jaws before it had the chance to clamp them down around her deck. The two would struggle there for a moment, Aayla careful not to kill the poor beast on top of her. Sure she could easily justify it, but this creature was only looking for it’s next meal. On the same tolken, she had no intention of being that meal.

She shifted her legs under the wolf and with a swift movement kicked the animal in the abdomen, causing it to yelp lightly and jump off of Aayla, growling at her and attempting to lunge at her once more. This time, Aayla was ready, she would sidestep the large animal and jump onto it herself, wrapping her arms around it’s neck and putting all her weight into pushing it down onto the ground. She kept her grip tight on the wolf as it howled and struggled to get free.

Soon, the wolf’s struggles would become sluggish and eventually stopped as it was knocked out by Aayla’s hold. She would sigh lightly as she placed it’s head down on the ground lightly, stepping away from it and quickly retrieving the yellow lillies she had been gathering. She needed to find the rest of the lillies the monks needed before that animal woke up again, or before the pack came looking for her…

Aayla did finally find the purple tulips and green flute reeds growing at adjacent sides of a cave entrance… Alas, that was where Aayla’s luck ran out. She could hear grumblings inside the cave, some sort of animal was moving about inside… a large animal at that. She didn’t have much knowledge on what was out here, but the girl opted to be extra careful around it.

She would lay low as she crawled towards the right side of the cave, quickly plucking the green flute reeds and adding them to her bouquet of yellow lillies. Then, carefully she would make her way on top of the cave, silently creeping by and down to the purple tulips she needed. She was as quiet as she could possibly be, and yet still the beast that resided within suddenly let out a mighty roar as it noticed the Fanalis invading it’s territory.

As the bear came running out to defend it’s home, Aayla wasted no time in booking it in the opposite direction. There was no need to fight it, she had what she wanted and she could easily outrun it. She quickly ran back into the thicker part of the forest, not stopping until she found the river once more. Now that she was safely away from those angry large animals she would quickly make her way back to the temple… maybe the monks would be kind enough to let her fall into that meditative state they were talking about? She could sure use some answers on her new silent conviction...
