It was a cloudless day in the sands surrounding Heliohapt. The sun was directly overhead baking the land and heat shimmers would slightly distort any landmark. Natalia was standing on a particularly tall sand dune looking out towards the distant city-like outline.
“Hmm… I could make it back to the city by tomorrow if I hurry but…” Before she could complete her thought her stomach let out a mild groan of discomfort. “I kinda of want some food” She mused as her hair was gently blown by the wind. “Well it’s not like I have any appointments to keep and it’s been a while since I’ve had cactus.” With that thought Natalia checked how much water she had left in her surprisingly large canteen and started to walk in the direction of a relatively close oasis.
Two hours later, the blonde woman had uprooted and carried three large cacti to a location near the oasis. Although the desert heat was unabated she had not lost any water to sweat and her clothes were barely ruffled. She then proceeded to carefully remove all of the spines from the cactus and placed them into a pile where they were exposed to the sun. This entire process had resulted in numerous spines being lodged in her hands and forearms. As a result she spent the next hour carefully removing the spines so they didn’t break of in her skin. She added the removed spines tipped with her blood to the pile to dry and proceeded to scan her surroundings for wildflowers. After picking five satisfactory plants, she proceeded to maneuver nearby rocks into a fire pit.
When the sun had fully set and the moon was starting to rise, she had prepared, boiled, and seasoned enough cacti “squares” for eight full meals. The numerous holes from the spines had closed up without a mark and her stomach was much more content. As someone who could only taste the nutritional quality of food without an actual ability to judge taste food with pleasant textures held a special place in her heart. Boiled cactus was one of them and as a result she had its preparation down to an art form. These particular examples had been seasoned with ground wildflowers which gave them a robust flavor even though the Imuchakk only had the extremely favorable reactions from others. She could measure the boosted nutritional quality which had left her satisfied in the first few bites hours ago. The desert was frigid at this time though this caused no trouble for Natalia. Still there was a large fire on the flat space near the oasis as Natalia had decided that fighting animals for food like cacti squares could damage the squares wasting them. They sky was cloudless and the entire area was basked in the glow of a crescent moon.
If someone was to look from a distance they would see a golden haired woman staring at the moon with a stable fire, a sizable canteen, and a large tied pouch nearby. If someone were to approach she would not move immediately unless called to directly as she was focused on the giant body in the sky.
OOC: Food, water, and a strong fire to warm the area.
