“Wait, what?!” A loud voice could be heard along with a loud banging sound, the person sounded very angry. She could hear a grunt, but it was not clear, she was sleepy and her body felt heavy. She tried hard to wake up but she couldn’t as her body became heavier every time she blinked. Her surrounding was moving in circle and all the sound she heard was not clear. “How could you make that kind of mistake… such a fool!” After that, all the girl could hear was nothing beside a painful grunt from someone. She wondered, asking herself in her head about what could possibly happen, and what were they talking about? She blinked and blinked again, until her eyes were engulfed into a complete darkness and her body felt like floating in the zero gravity room. With a careful step, a person came in the room, watching the girl with a sad glance while lifting hand up to touched the girl’s forehead. With a warm smile and sweet tone, the person whispers, “You will be okay… Just wait a little bit more…” The person paused a little bit, lowering the hand a little bit until it touched the girl’s cheek and she said with a tone that was as dark as the night. “Noir…”

The room was filled with a pleasant scent of breakfast, warm bread and mushroom cream soup already neatly prepared on the table and ready to be eaten. Today was not bright as the rain was pouring down a little, filling the room with an earthily scent too. As soon as the sound of thunder’s roar and the lightning strike descended, Noir lazily opened up her eyes and rubbed it with her hand. She dazed off a little bit, still trying to fully wake up while sitting up and looked blankly at the empty wall. Noir… She murmured, wondering who called her name and touched her forehead and cheek since she could still felt the warm there. The magician lifted both of her hands and slapped her cheeks lightly to make her feel refreshed before climbing down from the bed and pet her little liger who was lying down on the floor. Noir was pleased with the sleep she had, it was a rare one where she really let her guard down while sleeping and that was because she felt safe here in her guardian’s house. But the owner of the house was not present as Noir looked around the house, wanting to invite Shira to have breakfast together. It’s rare… she’s out this early… I’ll eat breakfast alone then…

It was delicious and made her feel nostalgic because that was the dish that she ate on the first time she had her own freedom and being saved by the female blacksmith. She would tore the bread into a small piece and dipped it in the mushroom cream soup, eating it happily just like a child and enjoying every moment she had. But it was not that long until her guardian entered the house with a strange expression and bleeding shoulder. Noir quickly stood up and approached Shira, guiding her to sit on the chair slowly and tend her injuries immediately. Usually when Shira was home, Haku would quickly approached her and rubbed his body on her legs, but today he didn’t do it, he was just sitting as if keeping his guard up while glaring at the woman. Noir raised her eyebrow to this odd event but focused to tend the injuries first. “What happened…?” She asked with a flat tone, but there was a hint of worry. Shira tried to breathe steadily and calmed herself down before saying, “There’s… chimera… at the city…”

“….Chimera…?”

“So you are saying that you were being attacked by the chimera?” Noir asked while putting the bandage to cover the wound on her guardian. The female blacksmith weakly nodded before answering, “You shouldn’t go to the city, okay? It’s too dangerous…” Shira said while weakly lifting her hand, caressing the magician’s cheek softly and got a nod from the girl for the answer. But the blacksmith knew about the girl, she would be curious, all she needed to do was just pulling her trigger. “I wonder how they were created… I heard that there is a kind of magic that can create such being…” The girl stopped herself for a little bit, stunned when she heard that and her thought wandered into all the things she encountered before and guessing that it was the result of misused life magic. She would help Shira to lie on the bed and waited until she was asleep before making up her mind to go and investigate it. She glanced at her guardian in an apologetic look before readying herself and commanded Haku to watch her while she go outside. But the woman who lay on the bed was not fully asleep as she smirked just as Noir exited the house. You are such a bad child…aren’t you Noir…? You acted like her…just like Luna…

The black haired girl ran as fast as she could and was a little horrified to see the condition of the city as there was an unidentified throwing rampage in the city. It was not a beautiful creature to be watched, it was almost made of something wretched and gave of evil vibe. She gulped down hard while observing the creature from head to toe, unable to even point out what kind of creature that was. The people was running around, trying to get away from the monster’s rampage but some of them was unfortunate and ended up being killed by the Chimera. This is chaos…. She took out her wand and maintain her gap to be around 10 meters from the Chimera before whispering to the rukh and cast an electricity ball that flew towards the creature,  but it gave no effect to it as its skin toughened. The chimera finally paid attention to her and was now coming towards him, just like a beast, it plan to crush whoever messed with him. “…tch…” She clicked her tongue and stepped back until she was 30 meters away, casting a bigger electricity ball towards the Chimera but still not effective because it grew extra flesh to block the attack. She was confused now, she cast a spell that should be pretty strong enough but it was like not effective for the chimera. She exhaled some air and inhaled it slowly before focusing her wand into the chimera while it walked towards the yellow magician. At this time, Noir noticed that the monster stopped his step and stayed still, gazing at the girl but then it took a deep breath and rose up her sense to block whatever would come after it taking deep breath. “Fulmine nero…” Four black colored lightning strikes appeared and struck the chimera, slightly knocking it down on the ground. But just when she wanted to make sure that the battle was finished or not, something that has a worm-like shape appeared   and hit the magician’s borg, making it shattered. “….great…”

Noir turned her back and faced another creature showed up, it had the same features as the other one so the girl guessed they must be the same. Yeah, it was very obvious. She needed to be careful though since the being shattered her borg, leaving her in a no defense state. She was trying to breathe steadily when she noticed stain of dried blood on the Chimera’s part that looked like an arm, distracting herself to not thinking that it was her guardian’s blood. But she couldn’t, the more she stop it, the stronger the urge become. Her body was hot, like her blood was boiling, and she began to grit her teeth as anger finally succeeded to take over her self-control. Crimson stained her golden orbs, changed it into a shining rubies. She gripped her wand tight with anger, Destroy it… A voice talked to her. But this time she gave in, she agreed. It was not a being that was permitted to live in her mind right now.

The creature attempted to use the worms that cover its body and attack Noir with it but Noir began her attack, commanding the rukh to made another four electricity balls that destroyed the worm-like whip that attached on the being. “…” She looked at the creature with disgust, the whole existence of it disgusted her and it needed to be destroyed. She cast Fulmine Nero and Parafulmine, casting two continuous spell towards the Chimera. Just as she expected, the Chimera blocked her four black lightning strikes by growing extra flesh on its body. But the crimson colored single strike hit it, knocking it out. She would cast another spell, whispering to the rukh to summon another attack but stopped as soon as she realized that she needed to examine the body first before ending its life. The magician knew that something must be hidden there, a clue, or something that could help herself to know what was going on with this entire strange occurrence.

She raised her eyebrow when she did found something, a letter in the pants of the creature. She kept the letter in her pocket before continuing to search if there was something else that she could find. A knife, big handkerchief and also some other small items were hidden in the pants’ pocket, clearly showing that this creature must be a human once and Noir guessed that it was a bandit before. Someone might did this to the bandits… Just like in that cave where that man colleting dead bodies… She sighed, still feeling the anger consuming her a little even thought her rage was not as big as before. She walked away from the creature, heading home to look after her guardian. As soon as she arrived, she would sneakily open the letter while standing outside the entrance door of the house. List of some places….? Was there the place where they conduct the--… No… I need to find more clue… She put the letter inside her pocket again before entering the house, planning to study more about it after she finished taking care of her guardian.

A black haired woman carefully scrolled the letter and attached it on a messenger bird’s foot. She let the bird free towards the sky to send the letter to her colleague while her face was decorated with a smile. Dark chuckle softly escaped her lips, satisfied with something. She would sat down slowly while holding her bandaged arm, hissing a little bit and then bit her bottom lip, “This is nothing compared to her growth today… right… Luna…?”
