Job Overview: The coyotes are back, making a home among all of the dead bodies of war. This is not the natural order of things, and rabies makes them beyond saving, and a danger to humans and animals alike. End them so we can rebuild and reclaim our territory from the animals
Enemy Name: Rabid Grave Coyotes (x12)
Rank: C
Needed damage to take down: C
Abilities: 15 M/s Burrowing Speed
Rabid Bite- The Coyote bites at 20 m/s, does C-Tier damage, fractures the bones and bites through muscle. The rabid venom causes stinging pains and sore muscles for 4 posts, reducing ability speeds by half and doubling reaction times.
Puntra Pounce- The Coyote can make a pouncing motion towards its target at 15 m/s
Swift Claw- The coyote swipes at 15 m/s with their claw, tearing through muscle, causing C-Tier damage.
Apparently the trouble with the Rabid Coyotes was far from over and didn’t seem to affect only farmers. The beasts were apparently seen scavenging the bodies of the dead in a town that was unfortunately part of General Kaito’s warpath. When the relatives of the deceased had tried to claim the bodies of family members, they found the Rabid Coyotes feasting on the corpses of their loved ones. Even the anger of the distraught citizens could not best the tricky beasts as only a few of the coyotes had been killed before the people had pulled back to treat their wounds and rest from the poison in their systems.
The news was sickening, like salt in the wounds of the surviving Reim citizens who now could not even find solace in burying their dead properly. Upset by this, Ayero had volunteered to travel to the destroyed town and take care of the coyote problem. She knew from experience how quick and dangerous the beasts could be, but she was confident in her abilities and did not want to allow the Rabid Coyotes to disturb the dead if she could help it. Determined to slay the beasts and allow the dead to rest in peace, Ayero set out for the appointed town.
When she had finally arrived, the Fanalis woman felt her heart sink at what she saw. Building were destroyed and toppled over, homes were charred and bodies of men, women and children littered the streets. Similar to the Western Front, things were eerily silent and sparked an uneasy feeling in the pit of Ayero’s stomach. Though scavenging through an enemy camp for supplies was unsettling, the scene before her was heartbreaking. These people were not enemy soldiers, they were innocent citizens who had paid the price of a war they did not want.
Familiar feelings of anger and injustice towards Kou welled up inside her, feelings that had been simmering on the backburner of her mind until now. She had done well to ignore them after Lagi’s final address, concentrating on helping rebuild Reim instead of letting her feelings consume her. Bastards…! Ayero grit her teeth to try and keep her anger controlled, turning her gaze away from the bodies. Kou influence was gone from their country, but the damage they had done would have last effects.
Drawing in a deep breath, Ayero’s head snapped upwards as a noise reached her ears. It was the first noise she had heard since arriving in this town, and the Fanalis woman followed the direction of the sound with her eyes, gaze landing on a pack of coyotes that were scavenging a pile of dead bodies. The beasts didn’t seem to notice her at first, too preoccupied with their noses down against their meals. Growling, Ayero’s face hardened and she drew her blade in flourish before jogging over towards the beasts.
