Bahir

Bahir
β-Tier
β-Tier
Bahir had followed all of the clues and information that he has obtained over the month. His search has finally led him to the barren lands of Reim: the Western Front. The young fanalis had heard rumors of the look of devastation the area had, but none of the rumors could have prepared for the scale of pain there. Bahir had truly hoped that his father wasn't in a place like this. It wasn't the kind of area that he would see once he arrived. There were destroyed ships, torn battle flags, spears and pikes sticking out of the ground, and even weapons strewn along the area. How could this still be in such a condition?! Why hasn't King Lagi tried to clean this area up?!?! Those thoughts owned the Fanalis's mind for a few minutes. It wasn't very long until he snapped himself back into focus, however. Ignoring his surroundings, Bahir travelled towards the location that his informant led him to.

He was here on another hunt. So Bahir forced himself to get in the right mindset. The fanalis covered his head with his hood and the lower half of his face with excess material from his cloak. He was looking for a camp that belongs to a Slave Trafficker. It would be full of other slaves, and hopefully, the one Bahir was searching for. Bahir moved his head from side to side, scanning the area as he walked. He was told a few signs to look for to let him know how close he was to the Slave Trafficker's camp. So far, it has been nothing but wreckage upon wreckage. He was starting to get sick of the sight, in all honesty.

It wasn't long before the Fanalis started to notice the signs. There were stages made out of scrap metal and slave posts not too far from them. His heart jerked a bit and he cringed at the sight, his imagination running wild with the thought of his kin being whipped and auctioned off. It was a sickening thought and only served to make him angry. Even though fanalis are hot heads, this imagery was enough to drive even the calmest of Fanalis into a berserk frenzy. The young man followed the trail of landmark clues until he found himself staring into the eyes quite possibly the third most sadistic man that he has ever met. Twenty meters in front of Bahir, sat the Slave Trafficker. Grinning.

Bahir balled his hands into a fist, his fingertips and knuckles turning an off white color. He was trying his best to suppress his anger, hoping to get some information out of the man instead of pummeling him. Before long, Bahir was within eight meters of the man and he held up his hand to the Fanalis. "Alright, dark worlder. That's far enough. Y'know I've heard about you." The Slave Trafficker stood from his seat and walked around Bahir, slowly making a circle. He had his hands behind his back, eyeing the Fanalis up and down, measuring him up. "You're looking for one of my old rats, I hear. Hakim, is it? Heh. I can tell ya right now, that filthy creature isn't here. Oh no. That mongrel escaped me a looong time ago. Took out nearly half of my whole business with him!"

Bahir's eyes followed the man, but he stood there silent. He looked at the slaves chained up on either side of him. They were standing in line, but where a good distance away from Bahir and the Slave Trafficker. The fanalis wasn't paying the man much attention until he mentioned Bahir's father's name. Bahir raised his head slightly, his features still covered by the hood and the excess cloak material. Now the Slave Trafficker had Bahir's ear. "I didn't expect you to be so cooperative..." Bahir's words were somewhat hushed. It was surprising to him that the Trafficker picked up on them. He was sure that the man did when a hearty laugh was had by the Trafficker. "Why wouldn't I?! Because you assaulted my underlings?! Don't kid yourself! You're the most entertainment I've had since that idiot Lagi went on that campaign to expunge slavery in this country. Well, hey. He tried right?! THAT'S all that matters! So, since you're entertaining, I told you what you wanted to know! That Hakim is probably dead in the sands of Heliohapt by now! He went that way without any kind of supplies for the heat! But y'know... intel comes at a price..."

Bahir turned his head towards the slave trafficker and raised an eyebrow. A price?... I hope he doesn't think about doing what I think he is.. As his thoughts finished up, the slave trafficker picked up a rather large mace. He cackled as he pounded the palm of his left hand with the head of the mace, trying to intimidate the young fanalis spy. Bahir had yet to draw his weapons or turn to look at the man. All he knew was: the Slave Trafficker was cocky. Bahir moved his right hand to his left hip, gripping his sanjiegun, the Triple Stick! He held it in its folded position as he heard the man speaking again, practically grinning through his voice, "There ya go! You know the deal here! The price is your freedom. I'm sure I can sell you for a pretty penny. Moreseo than these useless dogs around here! Come on then! Bring me your head!!"

The trafficker started to run towards Bahir. The fanalis almost impressed by how quickly the man was closing the distance. He calmly unfolded his weapon and gripped the one of the outside sections and the middle section close to their respective chains. He watched the man raise his club and Bahir started to spin the edge of the sanjiegun that wasn't gripped. When the Slave Trafficker brought his mace around with his baleful impact, Bahir was already prepared to counter. He hesitated his rotation for a moment before starting the spin again to let the stick flow under the mace head at 20m/s with his stick spin, knocking the mace off course. The force of the parry caused the slave trafficker to expose a portion of his back to the Fanalis. Before the trafficker could recover his balance, Bahir brought the end of the stick in his left hand across to whack the trafficker in the back of his neck. After hitting the man, Bahir took a few steps backward, getting at least three meters (3m) between them. The Trafficker fell to his knees and the fanalis slaves started to murmur about what was going on. Their owner looked to be losing a fight. They were a bit surprised, while the trafficker was embarrassed beyond end. Bahir knew it too. The trafficker got back to his feet and rushed the fanalis, wanting revenge for being shamed in front of his property. Bahir waited a moment before he brought his right leg around in a kick aiming for the trafficker's face. The slave trafficker knew something like that would happen and he stopped just short of Bahir and used his condescending parry to push Bahir's leg away from his face. The fanalis's foot touched the ground again, the rotation making his back face the trafficker.

Without wasting any time, Bahir lunged forward and rolled back to his feet. He turned and saw the trafficker's mace head in the ground where he was once standing. A grin appeared on Bahir face as he felt the need to end this quickly. He had already learned what he wanted from the man, now it was time to exact revenge for his wrongs against the assassin's race. Bahir dropped his sanjiegun and drew his knife. Gripping the weapon tightly, Bahir lowered himself in a sort of "set" position. The slave trafficker was making his way towards Bahir, thinking the same as the fanalis: it was time to end this game. However, the trafficker didn't have the means to do so, while Bahir did. The fanalis bolted towards the man at an alarming 25m/s and before the Trafficker even recognized that he was being approached, he felt nothing. Bahir used his shadow's strike mk. I against the man and cut across his throat. The trafficker fell backwards lifeless, Bahir sheathing his knife as the man's body hit the ground. Heliohapt huh..? The fanalis looked to his kinsman that were chained and went to each one, helping them break their chains. The "hero" went to his Triple Stick and picked it up, heading back towards Remano. His new destination chosen after he got a little bit of rest...
