Minerva 914ebadd15fe1870513e080a56fd3eb6
Name: Minerva
Nationality: Reim
Race: Human
Tier: D-Tier
Specialization: Int: Lightining
Age + Birthdate: 17 years. Born April 21st
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Bisexual
Personality: Minerva is, at heart, a strategist and careful thinker who enjoys planning things out before hand, or at least coming prepared for the unexpected. Of course, she also recognizes life's greatest adventures only begin at the end of one's comfort zone. As such, she often leaps into adventures that she knows she cannot be prepared for, relishing in the rush of quick thought and adaptation. To her, the ultimate thrill would be to delve head first into a dungeon, just to find out what happens.
During most hours of the day, she is either researching the local everything, devouring some book on tales of advanced magic she can only dream of performing, or submerging herself into the social arena.
As a strategist, one goal she has is to make as many notable acquaintances as she possibly can, extending her influence and resources that are available to her.
She treats others fairly, standing not only for respect, but grace. She is a firm believer in forgiveness and turning the other cheek. She believes that everyone is intrinsically worth something, and will not bring harm to another being unless it is for the sake of her own survival.
While becoming her close friend is difficult, those who can will find themselves allied with one of the most loyal friends they could happen to wish for.
Likes:
Learning: Adapting, planning, and fast thinking are some of the most enjoyable mental exercises for Minerva.
Puzzles: A mental exercise, Minerva finds puzzles as relaxing as she does entertaining.
Dislikes:
Ignoring the truth: Nothing bugs Minerva more than someone who refuses to acknowledge a petty truth. Some horrid and unpleasant realities she can understand, but something as simple irks her beyond compare.
Feeling helpless: Own her own from a young age, Minerva has detested the feeling of helpless ever since, pouring herself into her studies in an effort to lift herself from that status.
Aspirations: Minerva’s ultimate goal is the attainment of knowledge. She relentlessly pursues all forms of knowledge, physical, magical, or otherwise. Her thirst often causes her to throw her own cautious nature to the wind and dive headfirst into dangerous situations. Perhaps her ultimate goal could be seen as learn everything you can and never stop until the day you rejoin the Rukh. OF course, you cannot hope to learn everything at once. Pursuing a firm foundation in a subject area before delving deeper is always the first step.
Phobias/fears: Arachnophobia: Minerva has a massive fear and hatred of spiders. An incident with several giant spiders in Heliohopt fostered an unparalleled disdain for the arachnids. While the fear isn’t paralyzing, Minerva will cease to act in a completely rational manner, attempting to slay the spider the instant she sees it, preferably in a manner that leaves its husk completely disintegrated. However, given time, patience, and many, many, many examples of it’s trustworthiness, she could come to tolerate one.
Face-Claim: 99% sure she's a random OC.
Hair Color: Blonde
Eye Color: Amethyst
Height: 167 cm
Weight: 62.5 Kg
Appearance: Slender, but well sized. She usually wears her robes, her hair tied behind in a ponytail.
Rukh Alignment: White
Special Traits: She has a voracious appetite for books.
History: Minerva was born and in Reim. On her own from a young age (9), she found refuge with a traveling group of merchants. She seemed to be of no use to any of them, until one day she was found plowing through a book on mathematics. One of the merchant’s asked her to calculate the worth of their inventory, which she did very quickly. While some of the merchants could easily perform the task faster, the young woman was quickly assigned to the task of taking inventory and calculating its value so that the merchant’s could focus on other things. As time passed, she journeyed through many nations, experiencing all she could of local culture, lore, and knowledge, all the while searching for someone who could reveal to her what the white birds she had begun to see were.
The answer came in Magnostadt, when a magician she had been hocking a staff to was able to answer her question. She immediately pursued the man, tailing him back to his home where she begged him to teach her what little she could learn while the merchants remained. Over the course of the week, she poured herself into listening to the magician whenever she could find time, learning what the rukh were, and how to even understanding the origins behind the Bolg that appeared around her. From there, her journey into magic was her own. She poured over old myths and tales, using anything she could find to formulate the faintest idea she could of what she could do with magic. The answer came suddenly and without warning.
Holding her improvised staff aloft, she had been attempting (unsuccessfully) to start a fire with heat magic. The result was unexpected. Instead of a burst of flame, a thunderous crackle broke the silence, a bolt of electrical arcana arcing between her staff and the tinder. While the desired result of starting a fire was achieved, she had discovered her talents lay in a different breed of magic all together.
At long last, her journey had brought her full circle, and with what little she had made on her journey, the now 17 year old maiden secured herself supplies, intent on venturing out to learn all she could about her mysterious new magic, from wherever she could.
Role-Play Sample: “It’s beautiful,” Minerva muttered.

This was it, the seat of the knowledge she had been searching for. The palatial columns that held the regal awning aloft only fueled her unquenchable thirst for knowledge. The spark in her eyes seemed to crackle with a fire that had only been seen once before in her life. This was her time, her moment, and her dream. She was finally able to study one up close, a feat she had longed for.

Minerva sat against a column, laying out her supplies and counting her inventory one last time. It had been years since she had last seen any of the merchants, but old habits died hard, and she’d always had a soft spot for double checking everything.

“...and a week of field rations.” She smiled to herself, sliding the few materials into her bag. She hefted her staff, the glistening amethyst jewel at the top refracting the golden glow of the sun across her face, radiating the same, pure hue that her eager eyes shone. She took a few cautious steps before breaking into a full blown sprint.

“Down the rabbit hole!!”

Her body collided with the thick, mucous-like light barrier that ripped her body into something, throwing the young magician straight into the deep end.

Into her first dungeon.
