Ariella grumbled softly to herself. Figuro had brusquely told her that he would have no time for training any time in the next two weeks and that until then, she should pick up some jobs. She did not particularly need any money, her parents had given her plenty to ensure that their disappointment would be well-provided for while she stayed out of their hair. After the frustrating talk with the magician, she had went to the market and fate decided to drop just the thing in her lap. Which was why she was currently traipsing through a huge plantation filled with trees, trying to identify the different fruits with a furrowed brow.
She had never been one to shirk manual labor but she was completely unfamiliar with the different types of tress and which fruits were ripe. She finally decided to simply stop in front of a tree and snagged a dangling piece of fruit that she was fairly certain was a peach. The flesh of the fruit was firm but soft and she took a bite. As the juice ran down her chin, she grinned. Fresh fruit really was an amazing thing. And she had been correct, it was a peach. Now she knew which ones were ripe at least.
