Spoiler:

Gloomy simply because of the clouds covering the sky and blocking the sun. Sometimes for brief moments the sunlight pierces through the heavens and graces the earth with its warmth. A little late to the meeting place maybe but Mira was excited for her first combat situation. Her heart was a drum within her chest as she walked further unill she finally found the place where she was told to go meet her temporary companion for the job. Standing as she normally does when feeling uneasy her entire body is ridged and tense with fear. Yet like she always does she calm facade. Eyes observing and watching always darting around looking for escape routes for if they become necessary later.

Not knowing what else to do Mira decides to wait for whoever was assigned to her or asked to assist her in subjugation of the gang members. Taking a look around the place it wasn't much different from her own family's house back before her being outcast. The buildings and houses where rundown or a shambling of patchwork. Honestly it made her both sad and angry to think about her family. Shaking her head she forced herself into focusing on the task at hand. Being depressed or angry would only bring her down in combat.

Adamas was not the first name on the guard's list, nor was it the second, or even third... Honestly, his name wasn't on the list, save for a mere passing of his uncle and junior, and for good reason. The boy, all be him fully grown, was simply remarkable for being unremarkable, in spite of his prolific blood ties. It was a bitter understanding, one which he did well to grip loosely in pursuit of his hopeless and foolish endeavors.

Yet, here he was, tapped by the authorities themselves to settle the unease of the streets and return justice to these unruly ruffians. Maybe, the guards played it a joke; maybe, they thought his companion so better that she needn't real assistance; or, maybe, they misunderstood his shared name. Whatever it may have been, a purposeful mistake or not, it was a mistake all the same, for the boy strode into the streets wary of shadows at every turn.

Each step was a mere battle in its own right as his legs quaked with the intensity of tremors and his stomach rocked in equal measure. Inexperience was much to blame for his anxiety, but his own self-awareness was the true burden dragging his feet. Would he be of use? Would he be capable? Or was he to be of deadweight? A cascade of insecurities washed his mind, and the dreary signs of life in this poverty-struck community did little to ease his mind. The wood of these hovels creaked with rot, the soil of these earthen streets were besmirched with loitered shard, and the wind at his back reeked a stench most foul.

Nevertheless, he pressed onward to prove himself not of false bravado, but of true confidence. A confidence that quickly crumbled upon sight of his companion for this endeavor. Adamas had been walking on pins and needles for the better half of an hour, so when he rounded corner and beheld a human posturing feral instincts, his neurons lit up like fireworks.

"Woah," a yelp signaled the amateurs arrival before he shrunk back with a sharp step that underscored at least some discipline. His empty palms rose to his face ready for a scuffle.

Of course, this eagerness of his was only surface deep which was evident in the defensive stance he took up. He was just an amateur; so, surely he could be forgiven for the confusion, no?

Mira heard voice of surprise and maybe a bit of unease as well as she turned around it was her assigned teammate potentially. He looked as inexperienced in combat as herself and just as nervous about it also. Apparently nobody told him about Mira's family and their animalistic nature. Yet nobody has seemingly heard of the Chysanthos family besides those in it or those having dealings with them. Yet by the newcomer stance he was prepared for combat. Talking seemed like the only way for corporations to start between the two. "Mira was told to come wait here for teammate for assignment is that you. Mira's mission is eliminating a gang that information is Mira's confirmation. Was told teammate has confirmation information as well." Mira was told that a small group of four was their target and that her teammate would know it as well.

The information told to her that should be used as confirmation was their targets numbers. The soldiers told her that this mission was a test of her and her teammates strength. Yet Mira didn't care about any of that so long as she could become stronger which the soldiers promised she would during the mission. Telling her that only by fighting can a personal truly get stronger. Staring at this potential teammate or possibly a thug in disguise Mira's stare was intense. It was a warning and challenge to potential threats as she began to circle him slowly. Never walking very fast and never leaving his line of sight before turning around and making a semi circle then repeating the action. Careful not to be caught off guard just in case.

Adamas had been forewarned of his comrade's... attunement to the natural side of the world, but not one fully described the extent of this return to the primal walk. Mira's prowling pace only served to worsen his anxiety, and her particular manner of speech seem to fair no better. Confirmation information? A code? The guards may have gave mention to such seemingly crucial details, "I-uh... That's," yet his mind could only draw upon blank slips.

The answer he sought fumbled on his tongue until, finally, a ruckus clarity thundered across the destitute labyrinth. A jolly, hungry crew, famished for a good bruising, howled from somewhere round the corner. Mad dogs raise they're cry as they hounded their next prey.

"Where you off to now, old man?" someone asked; they're powerful voice overcoming the dissonance of clambering debris. "Running around like that," A stampede of steps echo a hasty approach."Is bad for your back!" A mighty front kick struck the old man to throttle him from around the corner and into the alley inhabited by Mira and Adamas.

Following the old man's rough landing, the jackals, four in total, came crawling on two legs. Their fangs protrude in greedy sneers, and their metal claws stayed hitched to their sides while they approached the downtrodden. "Now," a punk— his dark, greasy hair was slicked back with pure filth— indicated himself the leader with but a simple step forward. He got down, real low, to share a word. "Why not let your junior's take care of ya? The thug's hand reach out, of course, it held no civility and went straight to pilfer the man's coin purse. "How does lunch sound?" He held the purse out, dangling it just above the old man's head. "It'll be on us, a low, guttural laugh parted from his lips.

"Oi, boss," spoke a scrawny street rat. His dull brown eyes stared down their next meal. "Should we set reservations for seven?"

Befuddled by his companion's words, the thug's kingpin rose to his feet and shifted his glance once to the rat then to the two beasts. Deep blue eyes, like the ocean's depth, at at the prospects. "Why, of course." With a grin like a hyena and a snap of his fingers, he commanded his subordinate to give fight. "Get them."

(P.S. Sorry for such a late response.)
