The Sun and his pale sister hung low in the evening air, casting long shadows upon the empty streets. But there, amidst the clouds darkening the sky, stood the spires of the Hinamoto palace like a lighthouse in stormy seas. While the square lay deserted below, the grand Nagatacho estate - the governmental building of Kina’s Clans - was awash with visitors, both samurai and ronin alike. They mingled freely, this great sea of warriors, their faces covered with intricate masks.

These masks are essentially formal-wear, donned during official meetings such as the Summit. This is a time-honoured tradition dating from centuries ago, the supposed idea being that vassals and their warriors would hide their faces from their lords. These masks depict mythical yokai, such as tengu or orochi, and have been gifted to you by your respective Clan (IC); an example, the Hinamoto’s vassals wear oni masks bearing long horns. Feel free to describe your masks, or provide a picture, as you enter the Nagatacho estate!

As the relaxed evening intruded upon Night, the great sea of warriors began separating into six streams; one column for each Clan. Marching side-by-side, they ascended through the estate’s many floors. Upon the second floor, they marvelled at the traditional tapestries hanging taut upon the walls. Upon the third floor, they admired its ivory sculptures, made long ago by masters of the craft. Upon the fourth floor, they wondered at the cascading fountains, the silvery moon reflected upon their waters. Ascending its five floors, the estate’s beauty unfurled around them like the first blossoms of a cherry-tree.

The Three Blades Piercing the Demon [Plot/Event/Kina] Aki_pa10

Reaching a richly-decorated entranceway upon the fifth floor, the six streams converged into three greater bodies, one for each oaken door; the Morihana with the Kogata, the Hinamoto with the Shikizui, and the Kazeharu with the Toh. Standing before this entranceway, everyone would be requested by name to enter one of three doors: First, Silva and Terao would be invited into the right one, noticing Manami blushing across the room, and accompanied by Emi and Tenma - whose looks would provoke adoration and envy - who would be seated behind Shinsho. Second, Lagi and Eight would enter the left room with Yussef, seated behind the grinning Abe, while Julius and Altan would sit near Higa. Trent and Noir would enter the left room afterwards with Khalik, seated next to Kazuo, behind Ryujin whose brother Samejin was noticeably absent. Menat and Casrare would enter the middle room alongside Ryou, with Tobinaga and Hiroki following soon after, greeted respectfully by Abe and Ichiro.

The Clans were thus separated into three groups, each one entering into different rooms. These rooms all connected onto the larger Denpato Chamber through a sliding screen, but they could neither see nor hear the other rooms. Each room was organised as such; the close family of the Clans took the front row, their vassal lords upon the second row, their esteemed samurai behind them, with affiliated ronin and mercenaries upon the last row. Some of these samurai and ronin stood out; in the right room, they might notice a scarlet-robed lady wearing an eyepatch and a large man cloaked in grey, sporting a red lotus; in the middle room, a dazzling woman covered in exquisite tattoos, a stoic woman wearing a crow-mask and a quiet priest with an eerie smile upon his face; in the right room, a petite woman wearing a butterfly-hairpin and a woman wearing robes emblazoned with a red lotus. A great cast had assembled upon the stage of the Nagatacho estate. Their play was the Summit between the Clans; who would play the villain, and who the hero?

When sitting down, you will find a wooden tablet and its brush upon your seats. Please write upon the tablet what topic(s) you would like discussed in the Summit; this will inform how the Summit progresses. The following characters will also find a package from their Clan next to their tablet; Khalik, Silva, Noir, Lagi, Julius, Eight and Tenma. The package will contain one Magic Item, a reward from your involvement in Act One, which will be detailed below! Please, take a look at the seating plan as well, it may clarify some details.

Donning the mask of an elderly man with an oblong head, hiding the smirk with the face of the Nurahiyon, unable to tell if it was an honor or disgrace. He would file in behind Yussef, seeing Jynx nearby as he greeted his ally with a bow, giving him a wink as if to signify to the possible chain of events that would unfold. Managing to get a wave to his friend, Julius, Noir and Altan before focusing his attention on the task at hand.

When prompted to his seat, he would see the tablet and the gift. 'Talismans of the Final Prayer? Heh'. Amused how it could possibly fit. Picking up the talisman, depositing it within his garments, and placing the tablet under his wing as he clumsily climbed over his row to the next, while holding onto a shard that was smuggled by his Kogatan Shinobi. If Chouyi Asobi were to react, he would just put a palm out, letting her know it was okay that he proceeded forward. Regardless of threats or restraints, Hyperion wouldcontinue his mission. Attempting to pass a stranger in the second row to seat himself between two leaders of the Morihana and Kogata clan, Ryujin and Haruto respectively.

Upon getting the seat he desired, he would look towards Haruto, and begin to write, "The Kogata Clan shall become the Shogun of Kina~" in his best writing, as he placed it on his lap, so those around him could easily see his intentions inscribed.

Plan to use a shard or two if my life is threatened,or if I am restrained.

The one eyed man put the mask given to him by the Shikizui clan, wearing the red colored, lion-shaped mask to hide his face. He wondered though, about why they were using lions. But it made sense because they were a samurai clan… a warrior. A Lion never hesitated to attack their enemy, the bravest of all animals they said.

Tenma walked, following Silva and Terao from behind as he walked alongside Emi quietly. He would exchange an acknowledging nod towards the girl before noticing that she was the one that the swordsman mentioned before as Emi, if he was not mistaken. The general would notice how Manami, the mother of the prince seemed to have a rosy cheek whenever she looked towards Silva, an amusing scenery at the very least.

There were a lot of other faces as Tenma looked around the area and it seemed like they were making themselves look stand out on purpose, or not? Well, the man didn’t want to judge. Sitting in the upper row should be someone who was more important for the family, so he would do his best to remember their face and names, it could be useful someday. Although… This lady who shared a similar feature like him piqued up his interest. Not exactly in the romantic way, but Tenma just wanted to make an acquaintance.

He would begin to take the wooden tablet with one hand, as another hand was lifting up the brush, ready to write something on it. 'Strengthening the bond between Kina and Kou.' Once he was done with his writing, he would flip it and put it down, hiding what he was writing. Tenma would then call the one eyed girl, “Good day, milady. Apologize for my rudeness, I couldn't help but to stare at your beautiful swords.”

The elderly man would put on an oni mask similar to most of the other hinamoto supporters except his would be a deep purple with gold eyes. He would notice Manami as he was walking in to take his seat. He would smile underneath his mask. She was as beautiful as he had heard. He would have to go and talk to her soon. He would notice the swordsman tenma that he met before, yet the other faces would be unfamiliar to him. He would find himself seated next to the famous sumo terao he had met earlier. He would look down seeing the gift for him accepting it and then he would write down something on the wood, "Replace internal battles with sumo battles to solve conflicts among clans." He was doubtful it would work but everything would be so much simpler if problems were solved by sumo. He would look at terao and gesture towards the one eyed samurai and the large ronin "Any idea who those two are master Terao?" He would ask pausing for the man to answer before asking another question "Also if you dont mind me asking, why are you a wandering sumo? What is your reason for not settling with one of the popular sumo stables?" He would ask before taking a glance at Manami.

Here they all were: The Morihana's and their mysticism; the Kogata and their ninjacism; and the rest— not in this room... Probably.

With his hair on end, Khalik fluttered to his seat in the back of the class, like the misbehaving student he was. A black kitsune mask obfuscated his ginger expressions with that of pondering stoicism. Red accent along its detailed grooves kept the mask in proper festive tastes.

Speaking of tastes: He had already began to dig into the package left for him; and he must confide these are some really, really, really nice sandals. Look at that! They fit like a glove! And so comfy too! With not the slightest bit of further intrigue, here merely threw on his new flops right there and then. He hadn't the faintest notion they were magical, except in how they cushioned his feet.

After properly switching his footwear, sliding his old sandals behind him, he began to write his question for the panel. Now what to ask— what to ask?

"How will you enrich the lives of your fellow countrymen to live a more fulfilling and prosperous life? By what means will you accomplish this?"

Oddly thoughtful for a jokester, but he was genuinely curious.

Altan would be surprised to see that Dalia was not here, in the room with the rest of the group. But then again the thing that happened between the team was inevitable perhaps… and Altan hadn't had the time to talk to Eight or the others about that matter, because she was trying to make herself busy by strolling around the city of Kina.

The redhead adjusted her Inugami mask, the Dog God in Kina’s folklore. Well, she chose that one from all the variants offered by her clan without any particular reason. However, the archer thought that perhaps she was like an obedient dog who would be ready to die for their master if necessary.

The Three Blades Piercing the Demon [Plot/Event/Kina] U2rWial

In this case… it was between Altan and her clan. With her sigh and tired face kept hidden behind her dog mask, the redhead would look at the tablet, thinking about what she wanted to write. But Eight, that man was going to the front row and… the redhead feared for his safety due to his naivety. “Oh well…” Altan muttered softly as she lifted up the brush, writing on the tablet. ”Will the Kina country keep opening their gate to the foreigners and lend them a hand if needed?”

Lagi would place the red demonic-looking mask with the long nose on his face before taking his seat in the back row. It was rather comical that it was the only place where the outsiders belonged, in the back of the room where their voices would probably not be heard and the conversation would be moved to another place. It was rather deplorable and Lagi thought that maybe there was a reason why all of them had to be there. But from a strategic standpoint, it was uncomfortable.

"Hm."

Dalia wasn't here, that was something that Lagi didn't know the reason for. Of course, he could use his sire bond to talk to her, but he didn't want to give her any sort of distractions if she was on some personal mission. Lagi trusted her, Dalia wouldn't just abandon the group and leave without saying anything, right? Why did she leave like that? What was wrong?

"............."

He simply didn't have time for it, Dalia was strong and can handle herself if anything. Or better yet, Lagi would notice if her life force was fading and quickly head to her last location if he needed to.

The signal from Eight was apparent and Lagi was going to simply follow suit as he wrote what he wanted on the tablet. However, he decided to write it differently.

"The argument that the Kogata Clan's rise to the shogunate as the leader can improve the countries' capital with international trade and commerce. "

Lagi was going to try to attack them at a different angle, something quite unlike him.

At first, Noir found it funny when she saw the mask given by the Morihana Clan to her. She wondered why people always associated her with this particular animal breed, everywhere she went, most of the time. She would wear the mask, letting the black cat mask which was decorated with red and gold markings to cover her upper face.

The Three Blades Piercing the Demon [Plot/Event/Kina] Japanese-black-and-red-cat-mask-nekomasuku

The girl would then enter the room, along with other people… she recognized some, but the rest was a stranger. Noir wondered about the strangers though since they just showed up now. As her golden eyes stared twardso the tablet and brush in front of her, her gaze would wander to the packager next to it. Curious on what was inside, the magician slowly and quietly opened the package, only revealing a handguard inside. She could feel a condensed rukh within the magic item and this was like a heat magic, perhaps she could try it later after the meeting ended.

Taking up her brush, Noir would then think about what she wanted to write. Her question towards the prince from earlier was not really a good question after all, it seemed that Lord Akihiko despised that kind of question. However for the sake of feeding her own curiosity, Noir didn't really regret asking that. As she tilted her head, the girl would begin to write something on the tablet: “Since the current Kina is being led by a Shogun, is there any chance for the other six clans to have the same power at the same time? Sharing one power together to achieve a greater good for the country.

The Three Blades Piercing the Demon [Plot/Event/Kina] Rtv6JBT
Name: Mask of Retribution
Tier: A
Material: Steel, Wood, Leather
Description: A mask from Kina given to Julius. The mask is a symbol of a Horned Demon or Devil. One would say its just a typical mask of the Kina swordsmen, though others say the mask of this horned demon is worn by those who seek out to punish the truly evil. The mask is made of wood and carved to fit the face of a Devil. The wood is painted and stained red and shaded with black. On the inside of the mask lays a leather cut out of the mask to rest on the face. Steel mesh covers the eyes and mouth area, hiding the eyes of the wearer, and muffling the voice to become unrecognizable. Two black painted horns poke from the forehead of the devil face. The mask has a carved out smile with four larger fang-like teeth at the ends of the smile and painted white as are the rest of the teeth wish are normal. 16.51cm /6.5 Wide inches 25.4 cm/10 inches High 10.16cm/4 inches Deep.

Julius would not mutter a single word as he walked through the room. Wearing his mask he had attained from his Kogata Ninjia, he walked past the first few rows moving directly to the last row, near his Teammate Atlan.  He was shocked to not see the other fanalis girl here. Perhaps Eight had not allowed his pet to partake in the meeting?  Julius was unsure of what had happened since his last mission with everyone.  Apparently, he had missed something important in his absence however, he did not care.  He was Eager to finish his plans for Reim, but working with this group had shown some promise.  Jynx and Eight had especially shown they could prove useful, each had their own ideas and plans.  Atlan he was still unsure about, to be frank, he didn't know if she should be killed after they had Put Kogata into power or not. She did not seem like the type who had a heart for this ruthless lifestyle. Daila had expressed her distrust for him twice now, but she had the natural ability to kill without mercy. it was both saddening and impressive.  He had only hoped her not being here wasn't some ploy by Eight to cross them, while he thought unlikely it was not impossible.

Crossing his legs as he sat, Julius would grin as he'd scan the room getting an idea of where everyone was.  He had to admit, he was surely curious to know how the leaders would feel or react if he were to crush everything around him.  The Kogata had even proven that they too even with no open borders were consumed by greed.  It seemed they were given something to write down what they wished to speak about.  Julius would rest his stave under his arm as he wrote onto the tablet.
"When are you going to share the magic of the clans with those who have raised you up?"

It stood high and magnificent. Spires of the Hinamoto palace pierced the calm evening, as the Summit was coming to begin. Visitors and warriors were to now begin donning masks of yokai, mythical beings of Kina culture. It was said to be a long standing tradition of the Kina Summit. Vassals and warriors hid their faces from their reverent lords as part of the tradition's reason. Masks were to be gifted to the people by the clans.

For the young Trently, he were to be given one quite suitable for him but one that would look a bit peculiar with his already existing horn on his side of his head, an apparent sign of an oni already. It was something Trently had got questioned on about here in Kina. People looked at as an accessory. It was but a mere accessory however. It was a part of his body, something connected to him no matter what. So as one could imagine, him receiving an oni mask of blue color were to look a bit redundant with his horn but Trently were to thank Morihana regardless.

Mask:

Trently were to enter the Summit meeting with a woman known as Noir. She was a familiar face, but Trently could not put an exact finger on her. Perhaps his memory was failing him but he had seen her before. Anyhow, Trently would enter into one of the rooms, his room being a left room. He would be in a room with many ronin and other foreigners of important status, with tablets of wood and brushes with ink in wait for anybody who sat down.

It would be an exciting even Trently could feel now. Trently with a smile, were to begin writing upon the tablets when he were to take his seat. Each stroke of his brush would excite him. It would intend to be the most shocking topic of the Summit. Trently was brimming with elation and excitement.

Tablet Written Topic: "Dear lords of Kina, what if I said there is land that could benefit the country of Kina forever? If it is near within my grasp, and valuable produce and more that could be traded with Kina, and a new state of Kina, are within my grasp, how may every lord react? What proposals may you give? It is quite likely a trading empire may be within grasps of Kina. It is the lords' choice."

The Three Blades Piercing the Demon [Plot/Event/Kina] ALZVxYN

The mask Menat had been gifted was not on loan from the Toh clan as they and the other clans did for those who had allied with them. Instead for Menat it was a gift from her new friend, and apparent left hand, Akane. An old hand-me-down half mask from her early days as a kunoichi that had been cleared for the summit by the Toh. The face covering left her cheeks, mouth and chin exposed while keeping the rest of her face covered from the top of her face down to her nose. From what Akane explained to Menat the mask was stylized after a mythical creature called a "Kitsune", some kind of fox spirit as Akane further explained to her. With a base of white paint covering the mask it was designed with simple streaks of red and gold with the markings around the eyes bleeding from red to gold like flames. From each ear of the mask was a different decoration with a gold tassle from the right ear and a red cord leading to a gold bell from the left.

It fit surprisingly comfortable over Menat's face, almost as if it had been custom made just for her. If this truly was a hand-me-down from Akane then Menat was starting to think she'd have to talk to her kunoichi about keeping it once the summit was said and done. It was the most focused she was able to keep her mind as she entered the totally jaw dropping structure that was the Hinamoto Palace with the other atendees. One by one each person to enter, as well as their ac ompanying clans, were funneled through into three different rooms. Menat herself, as well as the other members of the Toh and those who had come to aid them during this period, were directed into the central room. The first thing Menat noticed as she took her seat was the small wooden plank, or perhaps a tablet, of sorts resting on her assigned seat.

Picking it up she found instructions with it. Reading them over as she seated herself she found she was to write down what topics she wished to discuss during the summit on the tablet with the provided brush. "To forge a union between Kina and Meridia as friends and allies" was her chosen subject. Or rather her mother's given that she had sent her to this land for, even if her goal had to only forge a union with the Toh clan while it was Menat who had decided to expand that goal to the entire nation itself. Resting the piece of wood in her lap until she was instructed on what to do next the young Meridian Princess found herself taken to simply looking around the chamber in which she currently sat inside. Three rows ahead, at the front of the Toh's section of the room, sat Lord Abe in the center of the row. But it was something two rows behind him that caught Menat's attention.

Red hair like a wild blaze tied up in a long ponytail drew her eyes to the woman sitting seated just one row in front of Menat herself. The woman had the entire row to herself which alone would make her seem like an "odd duck" of sorts but for Menat it was more than that. There was some differences, of course, but to Menat the woman looked like she could have been an older sister to the young princess in her physical aspects. Her mask made it harder to tell however. Yet besides that there was an air of "wild" to her. It made Menat want to approach her. Nothing had been said about being unable to interact with the others in the room prior to the summit actually beginning. With her tablet still in hand Menat would rise from her seat and make her way to the woman herself. "Uh. G-Greetings. My name is Menat Firdaus of Meridia. I was taking stock of the room and your hair caught my attention." She was starting to wish Akane had given her a mask that covered her entire face now as she could feel her cheeks growing warm as she began to blush.

His scent of sulfur no longer lingered, but discomfort would still plague the Sasanid. As horns poked past his mask he would appear odd. With the covered face of a dog, and horns blacker than the night would be an oddity. The dark and drab themes of his clothing would cause his amber eyes to pierce through the gaze in his mask. He wasn't sure why he had been invited, he had been somewhat of a guard, and ally to Naga but was that really enough? He had come here to see the world and found himself dragged along in more. It gave him a good perspective, but not nearly enough questions.

He would tap the writing utensil against his horn, the soft clack clack clack ringing in his head. With so little time to understand the face of this nation, he could just at least look in. He had to find a question that would at least make him feel like there was a point in coming here. He wasn't sure where this nation could go. Maybe that was a simple enough question as is, they all had different paths it seemed like. He would simply just write his question. "You can't guarantee peace, if you fail to feed your family they die, how will you hold yourself accountable if you let Kina die?" It wasn't really a topic, but it was a question he felt they should answer.

Right Room: The Hinamoto and Shikizui

Breaking the formal atmosphere of the right room, the one-eyed Himari would smile playfully at Tenma, taking in his handsome features, “Oh, mister, I was certainly staring at your beautiful sword. Apologies, I suppose introductions usually come before flirtations, don’t they? The name’s Yang Himari, a lone ronin hired by the Hinamoto clan. However, I’d prefer the name given to me by the Kinan navy, Ryujin’s daughter. It has quite the nice ring to it, don’t you think? Indeed, the Kinan navy even awarded me this wakizashi.”

When he noticed Manami blushing, Terao would clap Silva’s back heartily, “I had heard the rumours, friend, but never thought them true. You have certainly captured the fair Manami’s heart, there’s no doubt there!” Hearing Silva’s questions, the stoic Terao would begin musing, “Hmm, I know that woman Yang Himari is the former captain of a pirate crew. Her prowess was such that the Kinan navy awarded her the honorary status of a samurai, clearing her previous crimes in exchange for helping clear the northern coast of marauders. However, I know little of that large gentleman, other than his local nickname, the Shuten-doji. He hails from some foreign land beyond the Kounese mountains, but other than that? I couldn’t tell you more, friend.” His face darkened upon the next question, “I have no right to settle with any stable. For the same reason that I am a ronin, I am a wandering sumo. Some crimes, whether pardoned or not, cannot be forgiven; mine is one of them. As such, I’d prefer not to have any stable associate with a man like me. No, I like pursuing the life of the ring, free and unburdened. Free to be a better person than I am.”

Left Room: The Morihana and Kogata

In the middle room, Altan would notice a blue-horned woman beckon towards her from a different row. Though her appearance seemed monstrous, her veins protruding and her eyes slitted, she held a polite smile that widened as she spoke, “My apologies, my dear, but I believe that I have a package meant for you. It must have been misplaced when the seats were arranged. Oh, you are Altan Bey, correct? I apologise if I have been hasty in my judgement, I simply recognise that tell-tale bowman’s gait. Indeed, I remember Rashim having that same gait.”

Meanwhile, as Eight clambered through the third row, he would notice that Asobi paid him no heed. The second row, filled with nobles and vassals, would begin their protests but quickly fall silent as they heard a deep rumble, “I believe that’s my seat.” Were Eight to turn, he would see a shark-bodied man approach him; the absent Samejin had finally arrived. Khalik and Noir, the closest to the door, could see upfront the rippling muscles underneath his scaled torso but everyone else could feel his heavy footsteps and hear the gnashing of teeth. As he approached Eight, he would grip one shoulder and pull him close, not violently but definitely, quietly speaking in his ear, “I’d advise you not to anger Grandfather. He’s a stickler for the rules and might take your actions as something disrespectful. I know he may seem senile, but truly… he’s a monster.” Indeed, if anyone dared look at Abe, they would see his grin had stretched unnaturally, as if splitting his face in two.

Unlike the other rooms, this left one was filled with laughter and jollity. Gozen would reply to Menat in this same spirit, smiling as she said, “No need to be so shy, lass! Speak freely, no one’s gonna judge you! And, by the way,” she gave a little wink to Menat, “I think your hair’s much prettier than mine. So have you heard the good news? I mean, if you haven’t, this whole mood probably makes no sense. Anyways, see little Naga over there? Yeah, her older brother has announced he’s gonna marry the Kazeharu girl the day after the Summit ends. Like, right after!” If the slight flush to Gozen’s cheeks was not telling enough, the cups of sake held by many of the warriors and their lords made it obvious that they had all been drinking their fair share. “You want a bit? Hey, and you too!” She would offer a small cup to Menat first, before waving over Casrare.

While these little scenes were acted out within the three rooms, the rows would gradually become fuller until no seat was left empty. Some faces were vaguely familiar, like the Kou officials and the Clan members sitting together, while other ones were certainly new, like the seasoned warriors and their vassal lords who had arrived. Soon enough, just like the seats, every tablet would be filled; with each one that was finished, a priest would collect them. Golden lights shone brightly beneath their veils while they observed them, those lights disappearing as quickly as they left themselves. However, five priests would remain in each room while the others left, standing motionless in their purple robes.

At last, the conference-talks of the Summit will start! Your topics have been filed and transferred by the priests (who, if a magician wished to identify their magic, were using some form of Clairvoyance). Five priests have remained in each room, one stationed at the end of every row and at the door. Every seat is filled, barring Eight and Samejin, and the seating plan will be presented below to illustrate this.
Seating Plan:

Central Hall: The Clan Leaders

Within the main hall, the six Clan leaders gathered round the conference-table alongside the High Priest. Those within the three rooms could see only their silhouettes, since the decorative screens barred access and view. Thankfully, those screens were so thin that they could hear everything clearly and, from what was being said, it seemed the Summit was soon to start.

Akihiko: “It has been five years since the last Summit; five years since our six Clans gathered here in this room. In those five years, the times have certainly changed, as have our opinions, and this meeting is a necessity now more than ever. Indeed, my dear daimyos, it is time we settle this matter one last time. It is time to make our oaths.”

What seemed the silhouette of that old priest ambled towards the conference-table, uttering the unmistakable chant of atama soru yori kokoro wo sore. As his chant finished, he touched the table’s surface and a strange shape grew outwards from it, whose silhouette resembled a wizened tree. Raising their arms skywards, the Clan leaders seemed to touch its drooping branches, whispering that same chant quietly. However, if one listened closely, it sounded as though they were not the only ones whispering; that strange tree was whispering back.

“It may be hard but you have potential, my girl... What an auspicious day to make some new friends… Uho ho ho... There is no challenge, only death... Show me that you have what it takes to make me regret it... I won’t lose hope, and I certainly won’t just be your plaything… Kye he he... We reject your fate, or anyone else’s, we reject any path...”

The High Priest: “Your oaths are now enshrined within the Ame-no-Mihashira! You have sworn here, before our Father, that you shall speak truthfully. Should you speak lies, he shall strike you down where you stand. Uho ho ho! I presume there are no objections from anyone?”

Tobinara and Ichika: “There are none from us.”

Jin: “Not at all, it is our duty to carry this out, after all.”

Yoshihiro: “Exactly, we can’t just escape these matters.”

Fumiko: “And it’s not like we would be here otherwise.”

The High Priest: “Then it is decided! It is my duty, and my pleasure, as the High Priest to announce that the nineteenth Summit is now in session. Uho ho ho!”

This post will be split into two halves. This first half will have a 48 hour posting limit, and then the second half will be released. The second half will consist mostly of debate between the Clan leaders, with select opportunities for interjections and social interactions. As such, please post by 17th November at 11:59 PM GMT.

The unique variety of traits that the citizens in Kina had was still very surprising for Altan. Well, she never seen anyone like that before and it was uncommon as well within her clan’s area and Kou. She was certain that only Kina had this kind of fascinating feature. Her eyes would be looking at the blue horn, she couldn't help but to feel slightly bewitched by the slitted eyes from this woman who beckoned her.

The archer would stand up and maneuver herself to approach the horned woman only to receive a package. Turned out that the woman knew her name as well, but there was nothing to be expected, everyone here would know their names, the foreigners...by now. “Yes, my name is Altan. It is a pleasure to meet you. May I know your name, Miss?” She would take the package from the woman’s hand before thanking her. This woman said that she could recognize Altan from her gait...she didn't think it would be that apparent but this woman might be an archer herself? Or perhaps she knew more about archery than a regular person. “Rashim?” The redhead repeated the name mentioned by the woman, “Well, if you could tell that I am an archer from my gait, then perhaps you are into archery as well?”

Altan felt a little bit more refreshed honestly and she couldn't really tell why. She should be feeling the tension talking with this stranger, but she admitted it was the first time someone talked to her in this way ever since she came to this country. Her team was a bunch of...dangerous and quiet kind of people, so receiving this kind of chit chat made her less nervous. She would stay there, talking to the woman longer if the woman let her.

Noir would notice that Eight was moving up to the first row, wondering why he did that since all of them had their own designated seats. However it was not long until she saw someone appearing with a rather intimidating appearance. Noir believed that this person should be Hanamori Samejin, the son of the current leader of Morihana Clan based on what she heard from the priest at the manor. Now that she was able to see him face to face like this, she was clearly fascinated by his appearance.

Her gaze would be locked towards both Samejin and Eight, wondering what they were talking about because it seemed serious. Then Noir would notice an elder, sitting at the first row as well, with a smile that seemed unnatural and gave off an eerie feeling. But the magician would nod politely if their eyes met, she had no intention to be disrespectful towards the clan that provided her a housing on her stay in Kina after all.

Soon, a priest would collect the tablet they were filling earlier and Noir would notice a golden light shining beneath their veil. "Clairvoyance?" The magician muttered with a small voice but should be audible enough for the priest to hear her. Noir wondered if they did that to transfer the writing on the tablet. The raven haired girl would then give a second of staring towards the priest that would be standing in the room before she broke the gaze and waited quietly again.

The one eyed man would chuckle when the woman answered to him, “I supposed then. My name is Mikazuki Tenma and I am helping the Shikizui clan at the moment.” He would offer his gloved hand to Himari, wanting to offer a handshake. “Well, your name is beautiful, milady. If the writing is the same as what I have in my head, it would mean Sunflower?” He would then smile more towards her, loving her nickname given to her by the Kinan’s navy. She must be someone important for the navy of this country...not only that, she was awarded a Wakizashi, which meant that she was greatly honored.

Perhaps it was a coincidence but both of them had ‘dragon’ titles given to them, since Ryujin was usually known as a dragon shaped being. Tenma seemed very delighted to hear about that. “The Daughter of The God of Sea? Indeed, that suits you very well, milady. The Kinan Navy must be very fond of you to give you this wakizashi.” The swordsman would look at the short sword, really loving Kina style weapons. Well, he began to like Kina style weapons that did not come from nothing to be honest, it was his father who influenced his taste. “Say, milady. If you are free after the meeting, would you mind doing a friendly sparring with me? I would like to know more about your swords. I apologize if it came out in a strange way though.”

The slaver didn't have the strength to resist Samejins grasp as he listened intently to his every word, quietly spoken to his esr. But Hyperion didn't rely on looking to the man behind him, who was himself a leader amonst the Kogata. Nor did he look to Abe and the Morihana supporters. Simply taking advantage of the sharks quietness, perhaps calling a bluff but very willing to sacrifice the chance at an altercation.

"Oh thank you, young sir, for being such a kind host and letting me take your seat! I do see an open seat in the back though!" Hyperion pointed to his assigned seat without acknowledging it as having belonged to him, as well as playing into the age befitting his mask. Finally, putting his hand to brush it off, symbolically, while his right hand held onto one of his shards, almost eager to have a confrontation.

Lagi was watching silently, no one was really speaking to him so observing the others was basically all he could do at the moment.  Maybe this would be one of those peaceful meetings where they wouldn't have to deal with any sort of shenanigans of the other clan members. However, Lagi spoke too soon. It seemed as if the shark man decided to put his hands on eight in quite a way were made eight seem uncomfortable, even if it was a poker face. Lagi has done this before to eight, and he knows how strong he was.  There were ways to interact with others instead of flexing your powers onto them, especially if they were a fellow dungeon beast.

This was something that upset Lagi, the idea of someone upspring the hierarchy of lord class dungeon beasts right in front of him. They had great responsibility towards their peers and it commanded respect. Samejin probably didn't know any better, but he wasn't going to let it slide.

"I don't like the sound of that nervousness Hyperion. Do you have any idea who you are? Or have you forgotten?"

Seeing  Julius's signal, Lagi transformed into his dungeon beast lord form and grasped the wrist of Samejin at A rank speeds, using his A rank strength to imply the suggestion that he wanted Samejin to remove his hand. The look of Lagi was a crossbreed of a dragon and a vampire bat hybrid. His muscles were bulking and maintained an imposing presence.

Spoiler:

"With all due respect, if he's quite the monster,  maybe I should reintroduce myself as the king of monsters?  That is a lord class dungeon beast you are mishandling, you will not insult me in such a way, regardless of where we are.  Remove your hand and take your seat, the one you so shamelessly try to abuse your fellow kin to have. I hope it warms your ass to your liking. Real nice and toasty..."

Right Room: The Hinamoto and Shikizui

Licking her plush lips, Himari would stare into Tenma’s one-eyed gaze with her own, “Yes, mister, if I find the time after all this, I’d very much love a spar. I do love crossing swords - in fact, I’d say it’s the greatest of my guilty pleasures.”

Hearing his proposition, Terao would answer Silva in a wistful tone, “I am growing old, friend, and older still. I may have risen to the top of the sumo-wrestling world but it takes only one mistake for me to tumble back down. Perhaps it is best that I broaden my horizons beyond the ring, towards the world, and see what value I have outside my art. Maybe I can find the peace of mind I seek in some foreign land, where Kina’s native lands cannot. Talk to me once this is over, friend - it seems I might consider your offer.”

As Silva walked over to the brutish Elgjiho, he would notice those red eyes staring at him like raging wildfires, “Another foreigner?” His deep voice rumbled in Silva’ ears, continuing with gruff and blunt words, ”Hmm, just like me then. Well, if I knew one thing about foreigners and Kina, it’d be that things won’t end well here for you.”

Central Hall: The Clan Leaders

Akihiko: “As the one who called this Summit together, I would ask that I begin the talks. Have you any objections, my dear daimyos?”

Yoshihiro: “None, milord. It’s only fitting that you do!”

    Jin: “I will not object.”

Tobinara and Ichika: “Neither will we.”

Fumiko: “That is hardly a surprise that you should not object, mmm, when you do not think. But, if they shall not, neither shall I.”

Yoshihiro: “I’d mind your tone, if I were you.”

    Fumiko: “Why would that be?”

Akihiko: “It is not the time, nor the place, for your disputes - well, give me a minute and the floor shall be yours to dispute as you wish.”

Akihiko: “I would announce that we have two topics that must be discussed: First, our foreign policy regarding unions with other countries. Second, our current trading-climate and changes to exported and imported goods.”

Tobinara: “I believe those are the most relevant topics, considering our foreign guests.”

Ichika: “I have thought long and hard about this. It seems that we have penned ourselves into this island, with the rest of the world passing us by.”

Jin: “Exactly, Kina has endured its isolationist policies far too long. We called the seas our boundaries, but it was those policies which truly bound us.”

Akihiko: “Those policies served to prevent foreign nations from taking advantage of our resources. While I disagree with their severity, those policies have let us take back the Kounese control over our exported goods. Indeed, they preserved our sovereignty over Kina’s lands.”

Yoshihiro: “Surelly, milord, it would be better that Kina forges stronger bonds with Kou? While we may have control over Kina’s exported goods, there’ve been significant decreases in goods imported from Kou. Our restrictions have only been met with restrictions!”

Ichika: “Yes, the problem has become quite pronounced with this dry season. Our yield has been significantly lower than the past decade, and we do not have enough grain stored in our silos. We need to import additional grain, but the prices for importing it from Kou is far too high.”

Jin: “Hmm, as such we must turn to another trading partner?”

Ichika: “Exactly, we must find someone else who we can rely upon.”

    Akihiko: “Who might you suggest?”

Ichika: “It seems there is a fledgeling nation in the West, whom I think cou-”

Fumiko: “Are we truly entertaining her idea?”

    Jin: “Pardon?”

Fumiko: “I said, are we truly entertaining that girl and her ideas?”

Tobinara: “How dare you address my wife so irreverently!”

Fumiko: “Ah, your wife? I am afraid that I do not concern myself with your pubescent affairs.”

Akihiko: “This is not the place for childish jabs, Fumiko, but civil discussion. As such, I would prefer we continue our previous discussions.”

Left Room: The Morihana and Kogata

As those heated arguments rolled back into simple talks, that azure-veined woman began her own talk with Altan, “Pardon, my dear, my name is Onigaku Amida - I would prefer Amida, however.” As she was listening to those her sultry tones flowing full, Altan might miss the scarlet-branded Ojou leave the left room with a heaving sigh, before Amida continued, “I am not an archer myself, though I do profess I have tried my hand with bow once or twice. No, I was quite familiar with an archer, that Rashim I mentioned -  I had assumed you knew of him, since he was quite related to the Bey clan.”

Central Hall: The Clan Leaders

Fumiko: “...and why is it that we should concern ourselves with sovereignty? That subservience to lords and shoguns is what has kept us playing upon this boring game-board.”

Ichika: “Let me guess, you would rather the title of shogun be removed?”

Fumiko: “No, girl, I would simply have the title of shogun endowed upon someone who would appreciate it, unlike the Hinamoto ’prince’ who refuses his own title. I am sure there is someone better in his family who could take it.”

Akihiko: “The title of shogun is reserved for the Hinamoto clan, as agreed by the six Clans in return for our diminished power. I am the sole heir, Fumiko, and thus that title is mine to keep and refuse.”

Fumiko: “Why not remove it from the Hinamoto clan, then?”

Tobinara: “All you want is to take it for yourself.”

Fumiko: “Mmm, who might you be then, see, I cannot remember for the life of me! Ah, perhaps you were pointed towards the wrong room. This is the Summit, not some playground wh-”

    Akihiko: “Quiet.”

Fumiko: “Some playground where you can just amuse yourself with toys, like simple children. This is an adult’s world, where decisions are made us-”

    Akihiko: “I said, quiet.”

Fumiko: “Decisions are made using realism, not idealism. Your optimism is fuelled by youth, but experience will wear it away. Till then, it seem you are too young fo-”

    Akihiko: “SHUT UP!”

Akihiko: “I don’t give a single fuck when you insult me. I deserve it, yeah, cos I’ve been a shitty ruler. I’ve tried and tried and failed. But you insult Tobinara and Ichika?! I may disagree with them, but they’ve always tried their fucking best. And they’ve succeeded! They succeeded where I failed! Their lands prosperous, their people happy and their ideals lofty. What about you, you harpy bitch?!

Fumiko: “You dare talk to me like that, with your many failings?”

Akihiko: “I’m talking to a fellow sinner, that’s all!”

Fumiko: “Ah, whatever could you mean?”

Akihiko: “Hey, see, that’s the difference between you and me. My sin is complacency - I’ve got caught up within this lifestyle of luxury that I sometimes overlook the problems right there in front of me. Yours? Wel, yours is a fuck-load worse!”

Fumiko: “Mmm, is it now? Then tell me, shogun, what my sin is!”

    Akihiko: “Your sin is lust.”

Akihiko: “You’ve lusted for power and money all your life. But you always want more, even if it means destroying Kina from within.”

Fumiko: “What accusation are you making against me, shogun?”

Akihiko: “I am accusing you of the highest crime; you have committed treason - against me and, worst of all, Kina itself.”

Fumiko: “Upon what grounds? There is no evidence you could weigh against me! Without evidence, there can be no accusation. Indeed, you are playing a dangerous game, one which you cannot win.”

Akihiko: “Not at all, Fumiko. This is my fucking game-board, and I’m declaring check-mate.”

Even through the decorative screens, there was a clear shape that could be seen in Akihiko’s hand.

    A letter.

Left Room: The Morihana and Kogata

While this check-mate rocked the central hall, the stale-mate between Eight and Samejin was coming to its close, “I find it difficult to believe the outside world teaches children no manners. It is customary for the host to entertain his guest - but the guest must obey their host.” As he spoke, the entire room saw Lagi tightly grip Samejin’s arm with astonishing speed. However, Samejin did not even flinch but stared directly into Lagi’s eyes, “If you think yourself some ‘king of monsters’, you have evidently not met with the Morihana clan.” Speaking quietly, he nodded towards Abe, whose grin twisted into something grotesque. His entire face began to contort, with blood-red horns breaking outwards from his skull and sharp fangs breaking through his jaw until-

Something spherical flew across the room behind a scarlet spray and hit the wall with a deafening splat.

A woman wearing a butterfly-shaped mask wiped her blade of the old man’s blood, sighing with a singsong voice, “I’m tired of this. Can we just get on with the plan?”

As the Sun fell from his high throne, the Nagatacho estate was cloaked thickly with a scarlet veil. Throughout the three rooms, the seats began to run red as warriors and nobles alike drew their blades upon their fellows. Entering the central hall was a young woman bearing the symbol of a crimson lotus. However, she did not enter alone, not at all, but behind the stoic Manami. A sharp blade held at the matriarch’s throat, this woman spoke loud and clear with biting sarcasm,

“You asked if there was someone better in his family to take the title of shogun? Well, here I am. Oh, let me reintroduce myself, Akihiko!”

“I’m the eldest heir of the Hinamoto clan.”

The stage is set, and the actors ready! There have been some serious changes to the seating plan, on account of some cold-blooded killings, which shall be indicated below. In addition, those associated with the lotus-bearing woman and who are killers will be coloured in red. There is now a posting-order, with 48 hour intervals between, and the thread is death-enabled.

Silva would smile as the old sumo seemed to be interested in the old man's offer. He would go and talk to the large man when everything seemed to go crazy. There was yelling in the man hall where the leaders were and then in the hall he was in blood was shed. The one eyed woman and the large man would slaughter those near them, SIlva was lucky not to be struck down by the man he was talking to. He was about to stop the large man when he saw Manami being taken by a woman with a red lotus symbol. HE would grow with anger seeing this and his body would begin to increase in size as his frail, old body grew into a large muscular man. He would use his incredible speed to rush into the central hall trying to get close to Manami and the woman that was holding a dagger to manami. Once he was within 10 meters of Manami and the woman he would feed magoi into his belt which was around his waist he would then stomp to create a shockwave to knock the woman and all near him backwards. "Leave that woman alone!" he shouts to all that could hear him. If able he would then run to manami picking her up in his arms.

Within his seat, the young merchant looked on in a bit of fright for the situation unfolding upon the summit now. Trently looked on quite confused, and a bit not knowing how he should act. Frankly, he did quite know anybody here. Trently just stood up and scratched his head. On guard and cautious Trently was. It did not seem very good. An odd man had took a seat of a Morihana person, and what followed was quite scary.

Trently were to witness a heated encounter right before his very eyes now. A familiar vampire man whom Trently had seen before were to grasp the arm of Samejin. Trently was utterly conflicted what he should do. Perhaps the best option was to do nothing. Hanamori Abe were to be decapitated before the young man's eyes, and Trently were to sigh. Trently could care less about such petty terrorism. It was Kina matters. Trently had changed a fair deal in his character.

Trently: "I have no idea what is occurring.."

Said young Trently, feeding magoi into his Shuriken of Storms. It was quick. Suddenly clouds of dark color were to fill the room 10m in diameter around the merchant. It was for Trently could just get out. Instantly, the merchant were to yell to interrupt everyone around him [Denki no Himei]. While he cried out loud, he were to step with his right foot [Denki no Ho]. Trently were to close distance between him and his exit in hopefully an instant. Lagi was looking forward to seeing something interesting. The man didn't bother to say much and it seemed that he was going to go on the offensive and attack Lagi or something. He let go of the shark man and turned to the elder, waiting to see what he would do. However, the showcasing wasn't of the old man's skills, but someone else. In a blink of the eye, his life ended. There was a visible shock on Lagi's face, even though you would expect him to be happy that a rival was killed. But he wasn't, this wasn't something that pleased Lagi at all.

"If that was the king of monsters, you'll be brutally murdered by this woman. Stand behind me if you want to live. "

Lagi actually stood in front of Samejin as he took in a deep breath and fired out his blood breath projectile at the butterfly woman, attempting to deal B rank ability blood damage.

"Your opponent is the king of monsters, you will take no more lives while I am here. "
