Jumanah rubbed her side as she walked down the road wincing a bit. Maybe she should cut back on things she knew related to battle for a bit when it came to jobs. Or just tasks in general, cause man after the last while of doing some jobs she was getting pretty sore. This was though the mast action she had faced in a long while. She slowed her walking a bit though looking, she… she knew this area. Her eyes widened a bit under her mask. She should have been paying far more attention! This was the noble district! She saw some men walking towards her and quickly ran into an alleyway and around another corner pressing up against the wall holding her breath to quiet herself as much as physically possible watching from the corner of her eye as the two came close but didn see her walking back off again.

She slowly and quietly made her way out from the area back onto a main road to try to go back the way she came before she saw the fat bastard himself. “Others were saying they saw someone with a mask fitting your description running around… I felt as though they were lying. Why would you ever come to this district let alone stay in the kingdom? But here you areee~” He held out the word with a near snarl. She gripped her staff before looking behind her as the men from before were closing in on her then back forward to the two in front of her. “You’re coming back with me you brat.” He said with a spit to the ground she charged up some Magoi staying still as she focused now on her spell. “Get her.”

He said as the men lunged at her at the same time she casted Buzz for 10 Magoi. The spell letting off sound shockwaves with a screech making the men around her fall to the ground as their bodies stopped moving. She quickly turned and leaped over the men as her old owner cursed her out for the pesky good for nothing slave he viewed her as. She kept running but others had gotten the attention of her and her benign an ex slave. Ever since the whole slave revolution there had been a safe place for slaves and ex slaves but the noble area? If you were an escaped slave it seemed like every noble wanted their guards to mess you up. And soon enough the sprinting girl had a mob of noble guards chasing after her. She clenched her teeth tightly as she tried to keep running but she was running out of steam fast!

( Spell used Buzz for 10 Magoi -> 190 Magoi Left )

it was an awfully boring day.

pluto had been carrying her, moving slowly through the streets. his figure towering over the clearing crowd. her slender fingers gripped tightly onto his long silver mane. she was weary from the sun and even more tired from walking. it wasn't a heat she was used to. even in reim, it never quite got as stagnant. she didn't know how rima dealt with it during her youth.

wherever they ended up, there seemed to be a bit of commotion. gasps and shouting caught her attention. her crimson eyes found their culprit and she was running rather fast. much quicker than those chasing her, at least.

"shall we chase, my lady?" pluto asks, picking up into a trot. diana gives him a gentle kick with her legs, tightening her grip on his mane. "go."

the canine picks up into a jog, covering more distance than any human could. as they approach the girl, diana would reach out to grab her by the back of her shirt, swinging the stranger on top of his back. she keeps a strong grip, pressing her down into pluto as he picks up into a sprint.

with each step, the ground crumbles but it was mere seconds before they were gone and out of sight.

without delay, diana dismounts and pulls the girl with her with ease. the strength of her heritage not hindering her even in her fatigue. she drops her onto the ground and pluto stands on the other side of her to block her path.

"don't bother running," diana states, staring at the girl. "why were you being chased?" even if she tried to fool her, it wouldn't matter. diana had dealt with enough petty thieves in her life so far.

Jumanah kept running as she felt something nearing close, and what she saw was more terrifying than the mob gaining on her….. What even is that giant thing?! She could feel the adrenaline kick in more as she picked up the pace a bit more tensing her jaw more as her eyes widened looking back forward as she ran. She was soon grabbed though by the back of her shirt and swung onto the back of the beast. She grabbed onto it to not fall off but still held onto her staff at the ready, uncertain if this would go south or not as she was pressed down onto the creature with a strong grip. She squinted her eyes a bit as the creature moved into a full sprint they were moving so fast, seriously what was this thing?

She relaxed her eyes as they dismounted… or well the rider did, she was pulled off of the creature letting go of its fur as to not pull on it as she was pulled off. She didn’t want to pull on a possibly killing ready creature who she may be possibly the target of. She looked back to see the creature blocking her from one side then the apparent woman in front of her. She probably looked to be in her early 20s? So around her age probably. She slowly rose up her hand and staff in surrender as she stayed rather tense. Please don’t let her be a noble’s slave recovery kind of person.

”My old owner of 4 years found me and he and a few others started chasing me to try and get me back into slavery under him since I’m a recently escaped slave…” She said with a bit of a nervous tone. ”I don't have much but if they paid you to bring slaves back to them I can give you money if you let me go… please.” She offered. The last word sounds a bit… defeated mixed with pleading. She knew she couldn't take on this woman or her mount even if she tried her hardest.

diana crooked her brow, taking the girl's jaw in her hand. her eyes piercing daggers on a rather calm facade. "a slave, hm?" while this land was new to her, the practice of slavery here was apparent even among the chaos. in her homeland, it had been abolished for a long time. despite it being the law of this country, to give the girl in to her masters wasn't of her interest.

she releases her face and waves her hand, signaling pluto to step down. he lies down on the path, his eyes still watching them. "no need to be afraid. i'm not interested in returning you nor taking your money," she says. diana couldn't help but pity her. to have to be on the run all of the time. it reminded her of her time in kou. how her enemies chased her down constantly.

"what's your name?" she asks, her gaze softening.

Jum tensed a bit as she felt her taking her jaw in her hand. Her eyes were hidden by her mask but the radiating uneasy was apparent in her as she saw her eyes. ”Yes?” She said simply. She herself knew she wasn’t lying but did this woman think she was with eyes like that looking at her? She hoped she believed her… mostly because she was starting to get a bit further nervous at the idea of what she may do to her if she thought she was lying and tried to get the truth out of her which had already come out. When she released her hand and waved her mount off she looked back to it at it laid down on the path watching them still.

As she said she didn't have to be afraid and was not wanting to send her back she lowered her staff and touched her jaw for a moment where she had gripped it before lowering her hand. She nodded a bit before properly bowing her head to her. ”Thank you mam.” She said as respectfully as she could. She was glad she didn't have to pay her off either honestly. Getting money seemed to be quite a task when it was in larger numbers. She seemed to relax allowing Jumanah to do the same as she spoke softly ”Jumanah Necowl.” She said offering a hand. Normally she'd only really give her first name but this woman saved her just now. She deserves more respect than just her first name alone. ”May I ask yours?” She asked softly.

she gives her a nod. the bounty hunter didn't need her gratitude but it was appriciated none the less. diana takes her hand and gives it a gentle shake. "diana corvus and my companion here is pluto," she returns. by her scent, she was very much a human. whether she was gifted with magic or not was up in the air. though the staff in her hand told her it was likely. rima carried around something similar during their travels. even yamato.

"have they been hunting you for long? it seems they were quite intent on retrieving you." the whole situation was sickening, really. not even animals deserved such treatment. "i could offer to get rid of them for you," she proposes. pluto could take care of the job quite easily and earn an easy meal out of it. to own another person like a pet was enough of a crime itself in her eyes.

Jumanah Shook her hand as it was grabbed and nodded to her once as she introduced herself and her mount. She looking to the mount and bowed her head respectfully to him as well before looking back over… was it a him? The name sounded like him. She would possibly find out later. Dor now she focused on her again. She shook her head. ”Relatively speaking no, but I may have angered him more then the average runaway before leaving.” That guy was lucky she didn't spit on his face on the way out but still.

”They likely want to get me back before I have another chance to go back to where they had taken me back between Magnostadt and Balbadd. It would likely cost more to find me then it would benefit them to get me back at that point.” She said mostly thinking out loud. Honestly to her it hadn’t been that long for the chase given how soon to her it felt that she had been free. It likely had been at least 2 months at this point. Was that still short? She wondered to herself before hearing the offer blinking under her mask.

She grew silent for a bit looking off before speaking. ”I can only say I wouldn't be opposed to the thought, though I can not ask you to do such a thing for me. It would not be right. I do thank you for the offer.” If she chose to do so on her own Jumanah wouldn’t be quite upset by it at this point in her life oddly enough… but it felt wrong asking her to kill those people on her behalf. No matter what they did to her.

"i see."

her gaze turned down. icy white lashes shyly obscuring her eyes. it would be beneficial for the girl to get out of the country. slavery was not allowed in those territories. they wouldn't be able to apprehend her. not without resistance from other parties. besides, this country was no longer safe for being in such a position. it seemed a civil war was beginning to brew here as well. if it wasn't just a petty squabble between nobles and ex-slaves.

she gives a slight nod to pluto and he gets up off the ground. "don't be ridiculous. it'll be taken care of," she says, giving jumanah a small smile. her companion steps past them and disappears around the corner. at least he would get a meal and if she was lucky, her slaver would be worth a bit of coin if he had a bounty on his head.

"how do you fair?" she inquires. if the girl was injured, she could take her to a healer. though at a glance, she seemed fine. "i've decided i will escort you out of the area. to the docks even, if you wished to leave this place." it was the least she could do. diana wasn't certain if there would be others trying to capture her after all the commotion.

She looked over to Pluto as she nodded to him then back over as she spoke and frowned. ”But I-...” She sighed, she couldn’t argue for the woman not to take care of those people… She looked up to see the woman smile and blushed slightly under her mask before nodding a bit to say she wouldn’t stop her. She watched as Pluto disappeared around the corner watching carefully for a moment before. She blinked looking over to the woman once more when she asked how she fared. ”Oh sorry, I’m a bit sore but that's for unrelated reasons.”

She said assuring her she wasn't harmed from the mob. Thank you magic. She nodded to her then seeming a bit hesitant. ”I would appreciate the escort but I’d rather not leave the main civilization until I have gotten a bit stronger…. I was captured in between kingdoms before in the past due to my own lack of strength… this time I want to be ready… and if I can be strong enough to-” She couldn’t say it out loud… the desire to kill all those bandits who destroyed her home and the ones that took and sold her… she just couldn't say it out loud. ”I just need to be stronger…”

it was hard to tell her expressions under the mask but she didn't seem to oppose the idea. though it was likely much too late to call pluto back. he worked quick and efficiently. a trait she valued in her companion.

though, diana was relieved the girl wasn't harmed. it only meant she was more capable than she seemed.

a subtle smirk rises upon her lips. "vengeance," she states. it was a term she had grown so accustomed to over the years since her father's death. "you want to get stronger so you can get back at those who have wronged you. i understand." it was a noble goal but she had to be careful. their road is easily led into darkness.

"i would offer you my assistance for you to get stronger but i'm afraid your skills are much different from mine. you're a magician, correct?" diana wasn't proficient in magic herself. she knew of other magicians but they were too far from this place.

Jumanah looked off a bit when she said the word like it would hit her if she looked at the metaphorical manifestation of the word. She though did nod a bit. ”For me and my people…. But I would be lying if it wasn’t more of a selfish wish of mine.” She said in a hushed tone. She was glad to some degree that the woman understood but was still a bit unnerved to have that desire out in the open for anyone to see or hear. She looked up to her when she asked if she was a magician and nodded. ”Yes… though at some point I wish to learn the kills of a warrior so I am better prepared for protecting myself up close as well.” She said simply. She sorta had a bad habit of going super up close and in peoples faces in combat so it would be better to at least know some form of combat up close.

there is a small turn of silence. she couldn't imagine what jumanah or her people had been through. it was hard to find the words to say. "it's not all selfish if you're doing it for others as well as yourself," she says. at least that was not how she saw it.

"though, when you're ready to learn, you should find me. while i'm not full bred, i am a fanalis. i won't go easy on you but i'm willing to help you." diana couldn't count herself as much of a warrior. but she was a fighter and battling up close was her forté. it was truly one of the only things she was good at.

Jumanah smiled just a little bit when she said she was not selfish ”That is nice of you to say, thank you.” Even if she didn't agree with the though she still did appreciate her kind words on the matter. She nodded, listened to her offer and nodded a bit thinking on her offer of training her when she was ready to learn. Gaining a teacher may in fact help her quite a bit in learning better skills… Maybe she should do the same with her magical skills? Magnostadt from her memories of hearing things about it seemed to have a lot of magical based things so maybe she should travel there to train more before venturing to her money land. She thought to herself before looking at her. ”I think I will take you up on the offer, I may end up traveling as well to better my magician skills, is there somewhere that you normally stay? This way when I’m ready I can find you again?” She asked rather hopefully.

diana gives a subtle shake of the head. "no problem." it was the truth. being nice was just a side luxury to the statement.

"there is an inn on the west side of this city called the red sphinx. if i'm not there, just leave a post on the board or leave word. i'll find you," she says. it was a shadier part of town but if she seemed capable enough to handle herself, even in her current state. besides, it'd be easier to find jumanah than it would be for her to track her. "though, if you ever find yourself near a king by the name of jahangir, i'll likely be nearby."

she was never far from his side, even now. diana starts to turn, looking back. "next time we meet, be ready to train." her lips curve into a smile as she faces away completely, making her way down the road.

Jumanah took note of the location before smiling softly and nodding. ”Understood… Thank you again mam.” She said politely It seemed like it was the more questionable part of town but this woman did save her, so hopefully trusting her and her instructions was a good idea. SHe thought to herself SHe though paused hearing about the king part and blinked under her mask. ”You know a king… you seem to get more impressive by the moment mam.” She said picking back up the past mostly speaking as a statement rather than a question. She looked to her more seriously and determined before smirking and gave a single nod. ”I will be. Thank you again!” She said with a wave before pausing and muttering. ”... That university man was right. I have a problem saying thank you far too many times then needed.” She sighed before setting off on her own path.
