Alexander had heard an interesting rumor from Tsuki. There happened to be a beast terrorizing the town, it was quite a rare one; a chimera. Alexander had never seen one, but from Tsuki's description and information, it would make a great creature to tame and resell to some of the exotic pet buyers in the town, or perhaps even the military. They could sway the results of the war with the right sales, which would put them in a the proper position once the war was over. But Alexander had more selfish reasons now, he needed to get his own stock before killing his master and his slaves.

A chimera would be a great beast to own, they were such monstrous creatures that were bound to strike fear into any that would cast their eyes upon them. One that was able to create havoc like this was also certainly quite physically strong, and they always said 2 heads were better than 1, so three heads had to be even better than that. Tsuki had given him a small map including the town and the forest nearby, with a bit of extra information on where the den of a beast like this might be, considering the mix of animals that created it.

Eight had decided to start his search for the beast, right in the forest. Eight had every reason to believe while it wasnt attacking the villagers for who know why, it was recouping its energy in a comfortable nest.According to Tsukis notes, it was likely to make its nest inside of a dark cave. It was smart enough to use natural shelters. Eight went into the forest with his eyes looking for an area that might have stone formations, which would give him a good lead on where to perhaps start his search for the beast that was terrorizing the town.

The forest was humid and nearly unbearable, while the tree tops were providing plenty of sunshine, the actual trees were a big wind breaker, stopping any breeze from infiltrating to bring some comfort and relief. Even worse was that there were no signs of any dens for the exotic creature. The forest was almost completely devoid of any stone. The terrain was almost entirely dirt, trees and humidity. Eight scowled as he felt the heat begin to overwhelm him as his body couldn't outpace the rising temperature. But as he leaned against a tree for momentary respite, he looked down and got his first clue.

He got down on his knees at the edge of what he found; tracks. Alexander looked around now and there were more tracks, so he would be able to follow the trail of this beast. Things were starting to get a move on in the right direction at last. He was more careful and went behind the tracks making sure not to leave any of his own, just for his personal safety in case a human or another beast would try to follow him. He was able to tell a few things from the tracks, the beast was not in a rush, and was heading deeper into the forest.

The tracks eventually lead him to the base of a large tree within the forest along the outskirts of the town. At this point, he began to prepare himself, since the base of this tree lead underground and the wooden trunk seemed to offer a natural cave entrance, and this is where the trail of footprint lead.

He took a deep breath, and began to peer around the corner of the trunk into the depth, with an arm up to guard himself. But as he looked inside he realized there was no thread. Just more traces of the chimera having been there.

As he looked into the 'cave', he noticed a few things about the chimera. One could see the molted skin of the snake, which was the tail of the beast, probably peeling it by rubbing it's snake-tail against the bark of its den. Fang marks were etched into the den as well as some whole fangs on the floor, horns being press against the tree, and even some fur as it shed. But as he peered deeper into the den, Alexander noticed there wasn't anything else in here, except the remains of a few animals that the chimera was feasting on. There were other bears, but then he realized one of the corpses was primate-like in nature, it was only then that he realized that it was a human, From there, the whereabouts of the Chimera became several times more apparent. The corpses was mostly picked clean and the meal was freshly left out. The monster must be hungry... and the place where it was getting its meals was the village. Alexander had essentially lead himself on a wild goose chase all on his own. But it was worth the steps, he would've had the chance of dealing with the threat before it had even arrived back in the kou village.

With that, Alexander had decided to dash back to the town and see what he could do about protecting the villagers before the chimera could get to them directly. The fanalis sprint while he weaved in and out of the trees, while he was unable to reach his max speed, he still was making good time in reaching the village, but by the time he made it out of the forest, he could see the mayhem and panic in the villagers. The screams and some people hiding behind whatever they could as to not be caught by the wild beast. But now Alexander was here and he jumped over the villages fence in a single bound.

He could see where the people were running from and he made his way to the center of the chaos and commotion. He could hear the screaming, not only in fear but from pain. He could see the people hiding in fear, but there was an odor of terror in the air. But now it was time for Alexander to quell the situation and claim his prize. In the town square, there stood the chimera unscathed, feasting on the neck of a soldier where there was no armor. While its head was down and taking huge morsels, the snake tail kept its eyes trained on Eight like a lookout, it rose, tensing up and began to hiss as if there were a great danger. Eventually, the chimera turned to face the boy, snarling in anger from being interrupted from its meal.

It was strange to see such a beast, the goat alongside the lion head were both stained with blood from the human meal. As the sake was hissing, it finally calmed down, but then the lion let out a curt snarl followed by a roar, nearly on par with that of a Fanalis, which was quickly followed by the goats 'baaaaaah', they sort of blended for a moment, but it quickly became disharmonious. Eight was more than ready to take this beast down, but he would have to try to restrain himself as to not kill the beast so he could perhaps sell it afterwards.

The chimera jumped into action and charged at Eight with full force, but Eight was able to outrun it across the village center. The chase was almost humorous, the villagers who were once afraid, in tears and dirtied managed to crack a smile as Eight's antics. Forcing the chimera to butt heads with walls and carts.

This only infuriated the beast more, all according to plan. During this final charge, the chimera cornered Eight, but the slaver ran up the wall, jumping off into an elbow drop into the beasts spine, but the chimera's tail automatically reached into the fanalis' arm and swung him off course to protect itself. With the Fanalis on the flow and the complete awareness of the situation, the chimera's bear legs charged at the fallen target and the Lion's bite was aimed right at him. But instead of losing his pretty face, he offered up his left forearm, which the beast tore into his muscles, and causing some damage to his bones.

Eight began to hyper ventilate from the pain, and he channeled that extra oxygen, pain and hatred into a fanalis shout right into the creatures two heads. The goat's head rose straight back, a prey instinct natural reaction, while the lion head's released his arm on guard, but it was too late. The chimera stood back in fear, even the snake tail was rattling.

Alexander got himself onto his feet in a single hop from a roll. With that, he clotheslined the goat and lions head, snapping their next simultaneously. The bear body collapsed but the snake wriggled and writhed trying to escape the dying host body, but to no avail. The slaver sighed, he had ruined his chances to sell the chimera to a suitable bidder. He stomped on the snakes, finally killing it. Then the villagers returned, and applauded Eight like a hero; little did they know.
