Blades of grass pierced through the sheet below her, pricking gently at her skin as she lie awake. Her eyelids fluttered as she gazed at the vast twinkling space above. She pulled the fur blanket closer to her, letting out a soft breath as she felt the lingering warmth press against her. The moon was high in the sky, not quite ready to come down. She closed her eyes for a few moments. Her mind trying desperately to paint pictures of a dream hoping it would bring her closer to sleep. But it would only lead to images of horror and death. The nightmares that corrupted her dreams never left. Diana turned on her side to face Jahan, curling her knees upwards towards her chest. A sense of tranquility eased her thoughts the moment she fixed her eyes on him.
They had been on the road for a few days, finding a place to call home wherever they could. This place rested off the path in a little clearing within the depths of the forest. There was a waterfall that flowed gently off of the flat stones that held up the stream and into the pond below. Around them was a sparse field of short grass and bright red poppies that curled their petals under the light of the full moon. It was like a dream.
Her hand emerged from the cocoon of fur around her, gently cupping his face. She left it there for a moment, feeling the warmth of his skin. His presence was magnetic, drawing her closer the longer she gazed at him. He looked as if he was in a deep sleep; his breaths calm and steady with her own. This dream she was in, this reality, it was lonely. Her thumb pressed gently along his cheek bone down to his jawline. Her heart stopped for just a moment as time slowed around her. She pulled away, resting her hand next to her head. Her eyebrows drew back and a soft, somber smile formed from her lips. How foolish she felt yet confused with her actions.
She tapped her hand a few times against his face and tried to wake him with a calm voice, “Hey.” Diana wanted him to come back into this dream. For a reason that fleeted her mind and lingered within her heart, she wanted to hear his voice. Just once.

Jahan rested in a somber silence, his chest falling rhythmically as he slumbered. Diana would cup his face gently waking him from his rest. Jahans eyes fluttered open and he began registering the world. The first thing being Diana her face beamed at him with an expression that was painted with a restlessness. Jahan reflected a grin at her.
"Hey" he said in a deep rugged voice that almost startled him a bit. He had been asleep for long enough that his voice had deepened temporarily. Shaking off his initial shock he raised his brow at the woman, "Are you ok?" Jahan asked Diana. He scooted inches closer to her enchanted by his future empress. He reached for her hip and ran his hand up her side and into her flowing hair. He rested his forehead against hers.
"Whats wrong?Did you have a nightmare or something?"

“Hey.”
The sound that greeted her was like a soothing purr against her ears. Her chest tightened and her shoulders shrugged back as she pulled her hands under her chin. His grin was contagious. She returned it with a shy smile of her own.
“Are you okay?”
Diana opened her mouth slightly to speak but couldn’t quite find the words. She nodded her head quickly and shrugged her shoulder slightly, averting her gaze for a mere moment. He moved closer to her, her back arching inches towards him as his hand traveled up her side. She shuddered in her breath as he pressed his head against hers.
“Ah… yeah.” Her voice was hushed under a shallow breath. She felt his breath on her skin as he spoke. Her hand reached out instinctively to place itself against his chest. Diana looked down at her arm and her eyelashes fluttered against her cheeks. “We’re… uhm,” she paused, swallowing the knot in her throat, “A bit close.” Diana laughed underneath her breath, closing her eyes for a second before meeting back with his own with flushed cheeks.

“We’re… uhm... A bit close."
"Well, Im getting fond of sleeping besides you." Jahanghir told Diana, his expression morphed into a frown.
"Is it so bad to be close to you--Is it not nice within my grip?" The sight of a frown on Jahanghir's face was foreign and disappointing, he had thought he had broken through that barrier with her. They had spent so much time together and while she was not his woman she surely felt like a part of him. It was wondrous, it was also confusing... Who was she to him?
Yet the World King did not budge he was too enchanted by her. She was so pretty, with skin like shining porcelain. "If you're dreams haunt you, then let me hold you..I'll keep you safe"

The corners of his lips dropped into a frown as he expressed his concerns. Her brows furrowed and she bit her lip. She was confused. Diana felt her heart break as she looked at his face. Her other hand reached underneath his face. His body heat radiated through her skin. She pressed her thumb gently across his cheek bone. Her crimson eyes peered into his own amethyst gaze. They were filled with an eagerness but an uncertainty.
“No- I- It’s… It’s not that.” Her voice was choked up behind a mountain of emotion. She couldn’t bare to express it with words but every inch of her wanted to be closer to him. Diana pressed her forehead against his even more, the tips of their noses touching gently against one another. Her heart was pounding against her chest and her skin began to heat up all over her body.
Diana hated the feeling yet loved it all the same. Her hands began to shake slightly and her breathing was unsteady. She could barely hold in air in her lungs. There hadn’t been many times where she had been this close to someone but there was still something unknown drawing her closer to him. In her heart, she knew but in her mind, she couldn’t quite understand and it was killing her.

Jahan watched the girl his gaze was unwavering and strong. She was so unstable, shocked and perplexed. Jahanghir just wanted to know, he just wanted to feel. She had woken him up right? He would have to help her sleep again. She put herself closer to him and their noses connected. He could feel the womans breathe, and she was just so pretty. Her eyes so crimson, her lips so full and soft Jahanghir couldnt control his urges, he kissed her.
Jahan gave in not caring if she rejected him or not, this would be his kiss to steal. Their lips met and he enjoyed the feeling of the soft flesh, if he could he would deepen it and explore her mouth intimately.

In a mere moment, his warm lips were pressed against her own and with that he had stolen her breath away. She ran her hand up from his chest towards the underside of his jaw. It had been so long since she had kissed another that it was almost foreign to her. Diana melted under every touch that landed upon her lips, every breath they took together. There was an electricity that radiated throughout her chest. It was hot like a blazing flame. They were closer than they had ever been before and she didn’t want to let go of this moment. She was happy. She felt loved.
Diana had hesitantly pulled away from this moment, leaving a few more pecks upon his lips before she drifted back. A single tear drifted down her cheek and onto the blanket below them. She smiled warmly, laughing lightly under her breath. Diana didn’t know why she was crying. She wasn’t upset. All she could do was smile. “I’m not- It’s okay,” she chuckled, quickly wiping her tears off of her eyes but they kept coming.

Jahan wiped the tear from the Diana's face. He was confused, she had met his lips with a tear, and he just couldnt understand it. Every woman, no matter which woman had met him with a smile. They had given him their hearts, their bodies and spirits.
"Dont cry love" Jahan told Diana.
They had made Jahan more and more into the man he was becoming today. He just didnt get it, he pulled her closer until their hips met but that didnt satisfy him. He pulled Diana on top of him, wrapping his arms around the woman.
"Thank you" Jahan whispered silently to his woman. "Thank you for sleeping beside me"
Her head rested on his chest, and he stared out into the space, the stars shining above.

His hands ran across her face, chasing her tears away from her eyes. She just looked at him with a soft, loving smile. Diana was overwhelmed with feelings she didn’t understand. He captivated her and at the same time caused an ache that didn’t go away. It was when she recalled what Nahvi had said that it came together, piece by piece. But she was afraid of what it meant for her.
Jahan pulled her closer and rolled onto his back. She pressed her hands lightly against his bare chest, balling them into loose fists as she relaxed the tension in her body. Diana turned her head to rest it upon his chest. His skin was cold to the touch at first yet a soothing warmth replaced it. Diana rubbed her feet together and curled them around the blanket. The sound of his heartbeat was like a metronome; her own slowing into sync. She took a deep breath through her nose, gradually exhaling.
His deep voice rumbled in his chest like thunder. Diana lifted her head to rest her chin onto his chest, looking onto his face. He was perfect. She studied his face for a moment before whispering, “Now I’m sleeping on you.” Diana laughed quietly, turning her face into his chest for a moment before looking back at him, perplexed. “How strange,” she mumbled. When did she start feeling like this? How long would it last? Her doubts left her with a somber frown on her lips as she searched his eyes for answers.
“What is this between us?”

A RIVER UNDER THE MOONLIGHT
"Between us?" Jahanghir was taken back from the question. What did she mean, "what is this between us". Didn't she know? Shouldn't it have been aware to her?
"You know how impossible it is to describe that feeling! Whats between us? It is the same thing between breathe and life, between us is the same what is between time and age. The heavens and the stars." Jahan held Diana firmly his body rushing with new emotions. He had wanted her, he had knew she was meant to be his. It was fate, another thing written in the stars. Diana and Jahanghir had a relationship only the gods would gossip of. The rukh would populate and descend into the high grass from the atmosphere above.
"I know it, The way you look at me. The way you touch me... Its different than how you treat any other guy..."
The sky lit up above Jahanghir and Diana, it was so spectacular and painted. the moon radiated it soft rays across them. A row of stars shot across the sky, one after another a meteor shower swept the sky. Shaped like twilights teardrops the light show struck Jahanghir in awe. His face brightened at the miracle but as he looked back on his woman it had all paled to him in the moment. The miracle of nature reflecting across his woman stunned him in her beauty.
She had captivated him, she had made him feel safe. Wherever she was, he had no fear or anxiety, whenever she was besides him he was at home.
"Diana stay with me.." Jahanghir said slowly, he was worried now. He was worried about when she would leave him, when their story would come to an end.

Diana rested her hands below her chin as he spoke. A flush of warmth filled her cheeks. She did know how impossible it was. Even after it all, she was still perplexed. She had hoped he had the answers but it felt better left unsaid. A tinge of disappointment paled in comparison to the exciting mystery that these feelings held for them. Fate seemed to unfold like delicate petals, unearthing something beautiful yet unseen. Like the radiant sun, he shined bright for her.
"It's different, hm? You've been watching me with others?" The words flowed off her tongue like silk and followed with a sly smile. She watched the reflections of the sky in his eyes. The stars glistened against the deep purple hue of his iris. His face glowed in awe as he stared into the sky. Diana turned her body slightly to look up, amazed by the stars that flew by. This moment felt important to her. It meant infinite possibilities. Anything was possible.
She looked back at him, smiling gently. "Always." This was a wish under the stars, a promise of eternity to him. Diana slipped herself upwards, touching her nose with his before sitting up close beside him. She grabbed both of his hands in her own. "Come. Let's have some fun." Diana gave him an innocent look as she pulled him up as she stood. She would release one of his hands to guide him and then the other as her foot stepped into the cool water of the pond. Like a dancer, she spun around a few times, droplets of water hopping from the surface at her touch. The ribbons of leaves of willow twirled gently around her, curling back as she stopped.
Diana turned back at him, crouching down slightly, scrunching up her dress so it didn't get wet. She splashed the water towards him with her other hand. In this moment, she felt free from all of her worries. It was pure bliss. "Let's play a game," she said, placing a finger on her chin, "If you can catch me, I'll grant you a wish. No running! That's no fair." Diana turned away from him, disappearing past the willow's vines at a brisk pace.

Jahans heart calmed as his woman kissed him and rose, she was teasing him and tempting his heart.
"Come. Let's have some fun." Diana said, her voice did something to the world king further exciting the man. She made him feel so daring, the way that only woman strong enough to be besides him did. She led him to still waters. Hiking her dress up with one hand she took the other and splashed at the king who grinned and retaliated.
"If you can catch me, I'll grant you a wish. No running! That's no fair."
Diana took off past Jahan's view and he chased after her. the Cool waters peirced his designer slippers and silk garments and he couldnt care less. He was in the bliss of the moment chasing after his lover, he only wanted her back in his arms again.Taking after the brush the woman had disappeared from his view, he raised a brow.
"Diana!" Jahan yelled as he scanned the area for sudden movement.

Diana moved through the water, soft splashes sounding from her footsteps. She listened carefully for his own, making sure she was ahead of him. The pond was rather large yet the water only seemed to reach just below her knees. Her dress left soft ripples behind her as it skated across the surface. The water settled as she stopped in her tracks. Her eyes bright and wide in awe from what she had found. An array of flat, wet stone covered in bright moss and white flowers rested along the side of a steep hill. The water bouncing off of the surface created a veil to a mystical cavern. At a glance, there was a faint, blue glow illuminating and pulsating within the dark space. It was nothing like she had ever seen before.
She looked back to see if Jahan was behind her. His absense left a tightness in her chest. Had she gone too far? Too fast? "Diana!" He called out for her but he was not in sight. His voice relieved some of the tension in her chest but she could hardly breathe. "Over here!" she replied, wiping the slight accumulation of sweat on her hands on the bottom of her dress. Diana moved them through the water while she crouched down, splashing a bit on her face before getting up.

Jaja heared the call of his woman and he speed towards the sensation of her voice. Jahan spotted his woman under the moonlight. She was bathing the soft radiance of the moons rays and the rivers heart. He felt playful, and he wanted to pounce on her. She was so magnetic to him, Jahanghir used his speed to his advantage dashing through the river bed at top speed. His velocity ripped through the water causing it to split into two high waves.
The water fell from high in the air wetting Jahanghir and Diana as he came to a stop. He shook his hair a bit and smiled mischievously at the mess he had made. Reaching out he grabbed Diana by the wrist.
"Ive caught you" Jahanghir said while smiling, and he hoped he could capture her more intimately for a moment. "My wish"

The unnerving silence broke as a wave of water came over her, drenching her completely. She let out a short gasp, wiping the water off of her face. A hand reached out for her leaving a strong, yet gentle grasp on her wrist. It drew her to move closer to him. Diana pushed her hair back with her free hand and then looked up, smiling softly at her charming captor. Her gaze met with his gem-like eyes. They were captivating. She couldn't help but stare. "You've caught me," she murmured. Her words bounced playfully off her lips.
The sight of him eased her anxiety. She wasn't alone. He was here. 'Why am I so afraid of losing you?' Her garnet eyes flickered between his own, searching for answers. The heaviness in her chest and the fluttering of her stomach was mystifying. It made it hard to breathe but somehow the pain was addicting. He was right, it was different. She felt much more differently about him than anyone else. It vexed her.
Her eyebrows raised at the mention of the wish. He had won but she hadn't made it very hard. She was curious. "So, what's your wish?"

"You've caught me," she murmured. Her words bounced playfully off her lips. Jahanghir grinned and pulled his lady closer, resting his head against hers. He kissed her forehead and gripped her waist tightly. She was his and when their hips connected he felt like he had could stay with the woman forever.
"So, what's your wish?" Diana asked him and it wasnt even a question in Jahanghir's mind. He knew what he had wanted.
" Be my woman Diana" Jahanghir said. "My wish is for you to be mine, to lay with me in my nights and fight with me during the day." Jahanghir started kissing the girl again, he aimed for her cheeks and her lips simply enjoying her skin. He only wished, she would at least be his girl.
