John Davis TU5tn47 (Placeholder)

Name: John Davis

Country Affiliation: Wanderer (Reim Empire origins)

Race: Human

Tier: D

Class: Warrior

Age + Birthdate: 26, December 19th

Gender: Male

Sexuality: Heterosexual

Personality: Through John's life, there has been a multitude of experiences that influenced his personality. That much is true for every person in the world; a combination of parental teachings to life events, both working in unison to shape one's personality. For better, or worse.

Friendly- John is friendly to those he meets. Although it is sometimes difficult to save face, he does his best to remain amicable. However. He will not be friendly to everyone in different circumstances. John can grow frustrated with people who act with ill-will toward anyone, especially slave traders, whom he has very little tolerance for.

Kind- Whether friend or foe, John wants to be kind to whomever he meets. But if he were to grow to resent someone, it would be challenging to be kind toward them at all.

Respectful- Since childhood, he was raised to believe that to be respected, one must show respect in kind. But despite this, he can experience trouble with having respect for people who don't deserve it, in his eyes. These people tend to be Slave owners or traders, individuals who go out of their way to harm others...Generally, those who have blackness in their hearts.

Merciful- If anyone were willing to change their ways, John would grow to be more accepting and understanding of them, even offer them forgiveness. In that regard, as well as others, John is merciful. He does not hold grudges for long, and all grudges that exist will fade away once he has found the ability to forgive someone. He does not kill anyone unless he has no other choice.

Compassionate- Compassionate is another term that comes to mind when describing John's personality. Perhaps he always had a good heart, and his father's teachings certainly help. His heart goes out to those less fortunate than him, and he won't hesitate to help people.

Determined-When in battle, or when facing significant challenges, John has incredible determination. He refuses to be beaten since his goal is to reunite with his lost brother and father. So despite the odds, he will fight to the bitter end and give everything his all. That said, John chooses his battles carefully so as not to be headstrong and throw his life away needlessly.

Protective- If John takes a liking to someone, or sees they are in need, he will stop at nothing to protect them. He blames himself for the loss of his father and older sibling at sea, so now he does what he can to defend someone's life and well-being to prevent a such a thing from happening again to anyone.

Likes:
The seas- Thanks to John's family, he has a great love for anything regarding the ocean. Sailing across the waves is one of his favorite pastimes since his fondest memories involve adventuring with his older sibling and his father. His mother played a role in his fascination with marine life, with dolphins and sharks being among his favorite animals.

Exploration- John's dream of seeing the world plays a pivotal role in his search for his lost family members. Getting to witness new cultures and meet new people are the main reasons why he enjoys the adventure.

Seafood-If John had to make a choice for which kind of food he had to eat for the rest of his life, he would pick seafood hands-down. His love for seafood plays into his enjoyment of cooking seafood dishes, some including pasta and spaghetti.

Helping others- Helping others is second nature to John, finding gratification in doing so. If he cannot help anyone, it will weigh heavily on his mind for a time.

Dislikes:
Slavery- Being that John views everyone to have equal merit, to see someone as a slave makes him distraught. No person in his eyes should be treated as property. If he had the chance, he would free slaves without a second thought.

Cruelty- John despises cruelty to both people and animals because of his beliefs that he learned from his father and mother. If John catches someone acting cruelly to another, they will get an earful and then some.

Pompousness- Pompousness and cruelty appear to play hand-in-hand more often than not. Whether a person was raised to act or believe a certain way, or if they walk that path on their own, John can't always accept that people function that way, while deep down he wants to forgive them. It is inexcusable, especially when a person makes a choice not to change when they know better.

Aspirations: John had always wanted to travel the world with his father and older brother. However, there was an incident out at sea that separated him from his family. From that day, John was determined to do his absolute best to help those in need, no matter how unimportant the task was, spreading kindness and charity just as his father did. His goal is clear; to explore the globe and help people where he can, all in an effort to one day reunite with his father and brother who many have claimed to be dead.

Phobias/fears:
Drowning- John is by no means a terrible swimmer. He is confident in his abilities and stamina to tread water for quite a long time, being that his father taught him how to swim. He will more often than not dive into the water the first chance he gets. Although, he still has a fear of drowning; overwhelmed with helplessness as one is pulled into the dark depths, air escaping your lungs, body screaming to get air until your body moves out of instinct to breathe one final time.

Tornadoes/Waterspouts- In all fairness, who wouldn't have a fear of one of nature's deadliest forces on the planet? It doesn't help that a few waterspouts cropped up in the storm when John lost his father and brother.

Failure- John wants nothing more than to find his father and brother. To this day he feels as though he failed them, that he could have prevented them from being separated. He is afraid of letting anyone down and failing as a whole.

Face-Claim: Original

Hair Color: Dirty blonde

Eye Color: Green

Height: 172.5 cm (5 ft 8 in)

Weight: 85.729 kg (189 lbs)

Appearance: As you'd expect from anyone that originates from the Reim Empire, John has a fair complexion, short dirty blonde hair, and eyes the color of the sea. Though being a traveler of the ocean, he rarely gets a tan. He keeps his hair short since it is better suited for life on sailing ships, and his face remains clean-shaven since he never really cares about growing a beard. While he is from the Reim Empire, John dresses in clothes more suited for sea travel. Though his clothing style won't always remain the same, he changes his appearance every once in a while. Lastly, John will never go anywhere without the katana that his father was to gift to him on his seventeenth birthday.

Rukh Alignment: White Rukh

Special Features: None.

History: John was born in the Reim Empire as the second child to Eryk and Adriana Davis. It was from Eryk that John and his older brother, Cisco, earned their love for adventure. The family already shared a dream of traveling the world together to explore new worlds and partake in new experiences. All the while, Eryk extended aid to those who needed a helping hand wherever they went. Whether that was feeding the poor with fish Eryk and his family had caught, offering spare coin, or protecting someone from danger. No matter how little of importance, Eryk believed that spreading kindness and goodwill would one day change the world for the better. After witnessing his father's actions as he grew up, John came to earn the same morals as his father.

It was on John's seventeenth birthday when his life would take a sudden turn for the worst. For his birthday, Eryk promised to take both of his sons on a special trip of their choosing. The brothers agreed that they wanted to visit Baldadd, as that was a location that they had never visited before. Although as night blanketed the sky, their ship would find itself caught in the jaws of a mighty squall that appeared out of nowhere. What's worse, was the appearance of waterspouts.

Despite John's experience at sea, never before had he seen such a dangerous storm. He always heard tales, but not once did he ever think he would be within one. The once calm waters rolled and heaved, crashing violently into the tiny sailing vessel. In the midst of the confusion, John was tasked to help secure the rigging. But before he could help, the boy was swept overboard by a rogue wave.

The ship itself capsized from the force of the swell. And once proud and pristine, it was now reduced to nothing but flotsam, which John clung onto for dear life. The last thing he remembered, was hearing the cries of his father and older brother while he slipped away into unconsciousness.

It wasn't until daylight when John stirred. His mind was still hazy, but his senses told him that he was resting against wood. The deck of a ship. Was it all a dream? His eyes opened to meet a flawless blue sky, with deckhands staring back at him. The boy was rescued, and upon further investigation, he learned that he was on a ship headed back for the Reim Empire. The crew informed him that he was the only survivor. John refused to believe that with every fiber of his being.

As soon as the ship made landfall, John thanked his rescuers and made his way home as quickly as humanly possible so that he could give the horrible news to his mother. Just as he expected, Adriana broke down into tears and squeezed John tight. Once some time had passed, John expressed that he knew his father and brother were not dead as their bodies were not found, arguing that they were too skilled to perish in a storm. It was then that Adriana revealed a katana owned by his father, which was to be given to John on his birthday after the trip. Such a sword was an anomaly in the Reim Empire. But, his mother explained that it was granted to Eryk after aiding an old man in the Kou Empire. Adriana locked eyes with John, and told him to follow his heart and not to give up on the search for Eryk and Cisco.

Not long after the beginning of his Journey, John realized that he would need to find a ship and crew. But with how expensive a vessel was to purchase, he had to start small. He somehow managed to get by, acting as protection on a ship here and there to different countries. It was on his excursions where he learned of the legends that were Dungeons. Mysterious structures that granted untold riches to whoever captured one. If John was genuinely going to travel the world, he needed to find a Dungeon and become its master.

Role-Play Sample: John gasped for air as he snapped up from his dampened bed drenched with sweat. His eyes were almost bulging out of his skull to accentuate the horrified look etched on his face. Though he knew he was in a cabin, lit only slightly by what moonlight trickled through the porthole, the images that played in his mind like a picturebook were too real for the man. A dream, no; A nightmare of the day his father and brother had been damned by the waves they loved. Shutting his eyelids, John leaned forward, cupping his hands to cover his eyes. He shivered ever so gently. If he didn't know better, John would think he was covered in seawater, as if he was actually in the depths before being pulled from them.
