The rays of dawn glistened in ethereal beams through the trees. Their warmth kissed her chilled skin. Her slender fingers ran through his hair as he carried her through the forest. The sound of flowing water passed through her ears. A calming tune it made as her ear pressed against his chest. His heart beating in rhythm with her own. "Pluto..." Her voice called for him. She wrapped her arms around his neck, her breath flowing in soft waves against his coat. He felt a strange sense of humanity rush over him as he continued to step forward into this mystical place. Everything seemed too perfect. As if they had been in a dream the entire time.

His head began to throb as images passed by his vision with great speed. There was a woman. A young girl. Her eyes a beautiful and deep shade of pink. The silver locks that framed her slender face. Her soft, porcelain skin that reflected the rays of the sun like a mirror. Her radiance felt blinding. He wanted to reach for her but she was out of his grasp. Multiple emotions he had felt before came to the surface of his mind; more intense than before. His love for her. The loyalty in his heart. A single tear fell from his eye, falling onto the soft grass. It was a tear he never knew he could shed. His mind was more aware. Something had returned to him. A reality he never knew existed.

"Di... ana..."

Her name formed from this throat at a single thought. His ears bent back at the sound of his own voice. It held a tone that was deep and flowed similar to a gentle puff of smoke. The sound felt disembodied. It began to echo in his head as his mind raced with thoughts he never once had before. His body shivered in anxiousness. He wanted to run... to rest. Her grasp felt weaker and then non existant all so suddenly. She had felt warmer than before. His nose picked up on the scent of sickness as he took a deep breath into his lungs. He lowered his body down to the ground and her body slowly slipped off of him.

She coughed a few times into his stomach as she cradled herself against him. He let out a low whine, pushing his muzzle into her embrace. It was only now he remembered that she felt ill. But that was a few days ago since they had been travelling. She trusted him and his simple mind had forgotten. Yet this time, those memories did not fleet from his conscious. For the first time, he knew how to help her. He remembered what she needed and what she liked. She touched her forehead to his own and he felt her energy rush throughout his body. It was familiar to him but it was new. He was able to hold onto those feelings as he was more connected to her than ever.

There was an understanding. He wondered if she had heard him call out to her. His jaws opened slightly, his breath gentle against her flesh. "Diana," he spoke. It was clearer yet gentle enough not to startle her. He felt her flinch at the sound of his voice but he knew she was not afraid. "I... don't know..." She hushed him with a soft tone, stroking the top of his head with her hand. "I know," she said, her facial expression tensed, "I feel it too. We'll figure it out later... but... I need to... sleep." Her voice trailed off as her body steadily felt heavier on him. She was sleeping before he could say a word to her. He nudged her off of his head, laying her on her usual spot against is stomach. His body curled around her as he drifted off into dreams as well.

His dreams were filled with an array of memories. It played all the years he had been alive in one swift motion. The colors were vibrant and every feeling flourishing through his body yet fleeting all the same. His eyes gradually opened as he woke. Diana had been in the same place she was before. He dried his mouth, lapping up the excess saliva on his maw before beginning to groom her. Despite the newly formed complexity of his mind, he still enjoyed the simple things he did for her. There was a hope in his heart that he could kiss away her sickness but her scent remained the same. As he reached her head, he could feel the abnormal heat radiating off of it with his tongue as he gently attempted to sooth her with small laps.

She let out a soft hum as her eyes fluttered open. He stopped as his eyes met hers. She smiled at him and he felt a tightness in his chest. An overwhelming sense of relief washed over him. He pressed his nose into her own and she laughed, doing the same in response. There was a bond here that he had hardly noticed before yet he still did not know what it was. Her hands rested gently on his cheeks, her thumbs stroking the fur beneath his eyes. There were no words he knew that he could speak to her. He was frantic trying to find the right words to say yet he drew blanks.

Diana lifted her body up onto his snout in order to touch her forehead with his own. He looked up towards her, chuffing to show his contentment. Her movements were still slow and weak yet she was still loving towards him in her time of need. He couldn't comprehend her actions yet he enjoyed them none the less.

A strange sense of power flowed through his head and throughout his entire body. It was a true line of connection that bound their bodies together. The feeling was inexplicable. A mirage of white rukh fluttered around him as his form changed before their eyes. A gust of wind swept around them. His hands pressed against hers and intertwined his fingers with hers. There were only three words in his mind at this moment as the wind died down. His silver hair fell gently against his face and his crimson eyes opened to meet her own. It was the first time he could see the world through her eyes as her own kind.

"I am yours."

She looked at him in shock before her eyes softened into a more accepting gaze before she closed them, leaning further into his body. He released her hands, catching her in a tight embrace. His movements felt foreign. It was not a body he was used to. Her hands pressed against his chest, grasping onto the thick mane that was now just clothing covering his bare, human skin. "You are mine," she replied. In that instant, he felt a bond form within his heart. His loyalty towards her was stronger. His love was deeper. He would die for her. He would serve her until his last breath.

Pluto lifted her up in his arms, her hands gripped onto his shoulders as she looked down at him. His strength was there and he was happy he was able to lift her this high. Her face was flushed and he could notice pink rukh flutter around her. He tilted his head in confusion. The color of the rukh was a new sight for him. "Diana... your light is an odd color... are you feeling well?" She looked confused as was he. Could she not see them? There was no response from her. Her hand wavered from his shoulder to his face. "Could you always do this?" she asked, running her fingers along his face as if she were trying to figure out something. Pluto shook his head. "This is new," he said. "It's weird."

"W-weird?" He turned his head to look away from her. He didn't even know what he looked like. "Am I scaring you?" he asked, peeking at her face to see how she would react. She smiled at him, shaking her head. "It's just... different." It was a better choice of words but he still felt shy. This body was foreign. She lifted one of her hands to her mouth and coughed a few times. "What can I do for you?" He held her closer to him, his expression concerned. She seemed surprised at the question and shook her head. "I'll be fine," she said, ruffing up his hair. He felt embarrassed and helpless. "You are not fine," he growled. Diana had just laughed.

He wanted her to take him seriously and all she did was laugh. "Diana." It took a moment and she calmed herself. "I thought I was supposed to be ordering you around," she chuckled. "Yes." His response was brief as he set her down onto her feet. She wobbled a bit before stepping back a few paces. He sat down in front of her, hanging his head down. "Do you have an order?" he asked. Pluto felt her hands run through his hair, petting him. "Just talk to me."

She sat down in front ot him, grasping onto his hands. "I want to learn about you." His head lifted to where his eyes met hers. He didn't know where to begin. Even he didn't know much about himself. This consciousness was new to him. The only thing he could think of was what he liked before. She listened to him intently as he began to speak. He told her everything he could speak in her tongue. While discovering himself, he learned a great deal about her as well. Diana became even more precious to him as the day passed.

"I wonder... will you change back?"

It was a question he was not prepared for yet as she asked it. He felt... odd. A weakness suddenly came over him, his vision blurred. "What is... happening?" He felt a warm liquid drip down from his eyes. Tears? Diana held onto him. He could feel her touch. But it faded quickly as he blacked out.

She allowed him to collapse onto her. A rush of wind and a thick white, airy substance surrounded him as he changed into his normal form. Diana felt relieved to see him change back. He seemed rather uncomfortable in his other form. His head was now rested in her lap, blood staining his cheeks. If she hadn't known better, she would have panicked. "Out of energy, huh?" She smiled, resting herself on top of his head.
