Job Details:

xxxxxx Todilo wrapped the coat tightly around her body as the howling winds blew against her. She didn't understand how Bararaq could stand the cold sometimes. Perhaps it was how massive he was. As they sat around in the village nearby, she watched him from a distance. She was mesmerized by the way the frost crystalized on his black hair. It reminded her of diamonds. Like the ice was a precious gem that made him look even more valuable as the light glimmered off of it. There were things she would never be able to tell him. However, it did not bother her.

xxxxxx When they had brought back the fish from before, they were tasked with gathering some of the plants from the farm. Though they had just been lazing around. If he was hungry, he would eat. Bararaq irritated her with his childishness but she sat back, watching as always. There was no need for her to get her hands in the dirt. So it was worth it to wait for him to do it. However, all she wanted to do was go inside and nap. She yawned quietly, curling her knees against her chest.

‘Tch, I underestimated how cold it was actually going to be today.’ Bararaq would think to himself, glaring at the blue-haired woman who he had given his coat.  While she didn’t display any sign of thankfulness, Bararaq knew she was grateful, which was all that mattered to him in the end. Taking his eyes off of her, he would focus his attention back onto the frozen-over dirt in front of him. “Snow yams, ay? Easy enough.” he would mutter to himself, bending over and reaching his large hands into the cold soil.

After a few minutes of him digging through the dirt, he finally came the the conclusion of it being empty. A slight displeased look crossed Bararaq’s face as he picked himself up off the ground and looked towards his partner. “Yeah, there’s nothing here.” the Imuchakk would grunt out, almost throwing a kind of tantrum. He was hungry and wanted some dinner tonight, but this was way more work than he had anticipated. “What now?”

xxxxxx Todilo would watch him dig through the dirt, desperately looking for the yeild. There was none and she could tell but she didn't bother to tell him. Was the soil too cold this season? Why didn't the yams grow? She walked over to the patch, shifting the dirt around with her feet. It wasn't as soft as she expected it to be. There was something amiss. She signaled to Bararaq that there was something wrong before circling around the fence, paying close attention to the snow. Ah! A trail! A bit too excited for her own good, she began following the footprints. A rabbit? No... a fox, perhaps? Todilo was a bit embarrassed at her lack of knowledge. It hadn't snowed recently so they were still visible.

After a bit of tracking, they stumbled upon a series of holes. Admittedly, she had no idea what kind of creature this belonged to. Todilo picked up a nearby rock and tip toed around the holes. This looked ridiculous because of the way his jacket hung over her. She looked like a large blob with tiny legs. Impatient, she would reach down into one of the holes. Her face scrunched up as she felt whatever was in there latch onto her hand. It hurt! She tried pulling it out but it wouldn't budge. Todilo gave up, putting on a rather good act. With a pout and teary eyes, she laid down in the snow, her arm still stuck in the hole. She signed to Bararaq: "Help me or I'll cry."

With an annoyed glare, Bararaq would sigh at the pitiful site that was his partner. He would slowly walk his way up to her, crossing his arms the entire way. Scanning the stuck Imuchakk over, he knew deep down that she could have gotten out with ease. Todilo was incredibly crafty, and also physically strong for someone who preferred to distance themselves in a fight. She was simply being lazy, but truthfully, Bararaq didn’t mind. With one of his usual irritated grunts, the black-haired giant would reach out to his friend. However, without actually thinking it through, he had accidentally reached out with his hook-hand instead.

A cold sweat would form on the nape of his neck, as his obvious mistake would begin to sink in. “Uh, here.” he would mutter, switching his outstretched hand. Even if she had decided to make fun of him, he could always use her current position as a type of self-defense. The girl looked ridiculous, almost like some kind of messed up sea turtle. He couldn't help but chuckle under his breath, while also doing his best to hide it from her. The humored/embarrassed goliath would look away in a hurry, his pale cheeks turning a light pink color. After Todilo was fully unstuck, Bararaq would try to change the awkward subject. “I think I see another patch over there, let’s give it a try.” he would say, trying to play it cool as he made his way towards the other patch of frozen soil.

xxxxxx Todilo had a devious smirk on her face the whole time he was helping her. It was also partly because she was amused by his initial mistake. If she had grabbed onto his hook, it would have went flying off! As much as she wanted to laugh about the thought, it wouldn't be very satisfying. She brushed the snow and dirt off herself before chasing a bit after him. He was quite a bit faster than him since he was so tall. It seemed that there was another patch of some sort of crop ahead of them. Todilo wasn't much of a farmer since all she knew were the ways of the hunt. She would stay on the side while he rummaged through the soil for whatever they were looking for. Todilo wrapped his coat around her tighter to shield her from the chilly winds.

xxxxxx Behind them, there was a rustling in the bushes. Todilo turned around to see a few hungry juvenile yeti standing in front of her. Thick strips of saliva dripped down it's chin and onto her feet. She could smell the putrid breath it was exerting. Todilo would be lying if she said she wasn't a little scared. It was just as tall as she was-- maybe taller. The creature had a large branch in it's hand most likely to use as a weapon. It suddenly roared loudly in her face; the smell almost bad enough to make her puke. Did it want the patch behind them? She didn't have her weapons with her so it was really up to her fists to take the beast down. Todilo gave it a rough punch to the face, startling it before running over to Bararaq. In those moments, the yeti was now behind Bararaq, giving him a hard smack on his back with the branch.

Not acknowledging the rustling from behind him as he dug through the freezing dirt, Bararaq would feel a sudden wallop to the back of his skull. A juvenile yeti had struck him from behind using a large tree branch. Upon impact, the branch would snap in half leaving the yeti weaponless. Instead of backing down, the Yeti would proceed to let out a warcry and leap upon the Imuchakk’s back. During this, an unforeseen anger would begin building up within the raven-haired man. Suddenly picking himself up off of his knees, the Yeti would go flying back a few meters.

Jerking his head backwards, Bararaq was now giving the beast a cold glare. “Eh?..” he would grunt out, taking a giant step towards his foe. He would begin brandishing his hook, twirling it in his free hand. Watching as the Yeti began to back up slowly, he couldn’t help but chuckle to himself. He knew very well that he was quite the intimidating foe. However, knowing this wasn’t enough to satisfy the giant. He had been slightly wounded by this pathetic creature, and he wasn’t planning on letting it get away. Instead, he had his sights on this soon-to-be roasted yeti. He’d never eaten one before, but it looked to have plenty of meat on its bone.

xxxxxx The sight of Bararaq handle the situation with such ease made her silently chuckle. Being so small and young, the creature didn't stand a chance against the giant. The poor yeti cowered in the snow, covering it's face with it's padded paws. It was kind of cute. Todilo tilted her head, walking over to it without much fear anymore. Before she could even touch it, the yeti began screeching loudly. Most likely to call for help. She cringed from the noise, signing to Bararaq that they should probably get out of there and take whatever he found back with them. If by chance the yeti and his family followed them back to the village, it'd be a good meal for everyone... maybe. Though, she would respect and follow his decision whether he chose to fight or flight.

Giving the yeti a quick lookover, Bararaq would notice something different about it from the first time he looked it over. For some reason, this creature had a burlap sack tied around its waist. “What the…” he would mutter to himself, quickly pacing over towards the beast. The yeti continued to screech loudly, falling on its behind as the two came face-to-face. “Give me that!” Bararaq would say in an agitated tone of voice, snatching the burlap sack from its waist. Upon grabbing it, the sack would spill out onto the snowy ground. What was once inside of the bag, lay around twenty to thirty snow yams. The Imuchakk couldn’t help but feel a tad bit ticked off upon seeing this. “So, this is where all the yams went.” he muttered, a vein popping out on his forehead.

However, before he was able to do anything about it, he felt a soft touch on his shoulder. Todilo? No, she would have socked him right in the face for no reason. Turning his head around, his eyes would meet a much larger yeti’s. The creature was slightly taller than himself, with a much thicker coat of white fur. It wasn’t long before the soft touch turned into a sharp jabbing sensation. He was then thrown aside with ease, right into one of the nearby trees. Attempting to pick himself up, he saw that the yeti was no longer interested in him or his partner. It was now comforting the much smaller yeti, grabbing it by the nape of its neck, just like some kind of cat.

Watching them from a distance, Bararaq would continue to keep an eye on both the creatures and Todilo. After only a couple of minutes, they would begin walking off into the dense forest nearby. Sighing under his breath, the raven-haired man would finish standing up. However, he continued to place his hand upon the left side of his body. He wasn’t entirely sure, but it felt as if one of his ribs were broken during the impact. Clearing his throat, he would begin to chuckle a bit under his breath. “Dumbass yetis left the snow yams.”

xxxxxx Before she could get very far, a large screech sounded from behind her. Her body whipped around to look at the scene behind her. It all happened to fast. She heard a loud crack as the yeti whipped Bararaq into a nearby tree. Todilo wasn't sure if it was the tree or him. In a panic, she picked up a few nearby stones and began throwing them at the yeti in order to scare them off. After they went away, she would run over to Bararaq and immediately check him for any wounds. Even if it meant that she had to strip him down. Though, a quick look at his abdomen would tell a thousand words.

xxxxxx Todilo shoved him back and aggressively signed a load of nonsense at him. If he paid attention, he would be able to read off a few crude words. She was worried about his state of health and if he would scar or worse. Oh, the horror! She grabbed his wrist and dragged his ass back to the village. But not before she grabbed the bag of half-eaten and whole yams which smelled like yeti. As gross as it was, they would have to do with what they had. After returning to the village, she would give the bag to one of the farmers. Though, before she could get Bararaq medical attention, they gave them yet another task. Hunting.

Bararaq would let out an exhausted sigh, as he noticed his partner had gotten into one of her ‘fussy’ moods again. After continuing to pelt the yetis with small rocks, the blue-haired girl would rush over towards him. For but a mere moment, her face would look sincere to him. As if she was actually worried about his condition. However, this sentimental farce would be over within mere seconds. As soon as Todilo realized that he would be fine, she would begin signing incredibly rude gibberish to him. Some of it made sense, most of it didn’t.

“Give me a damn break, will ya?” the halfling would mutter at Todilo, wincing in pain as the girl yanked him up off the ground. After grabbing the sack of yams, they were off back towards the village. He had hoped that they would be able to hunt here soon, but first he’d need to heal up. Which might prove slightly more difficult for him now, since he had sort of a bad reputation with most of the doctors in the village. Whatever the case, Bararaq was decently fast at healing naturally.
