job details:

In order to hunt, she needed one of her bows. Due to Bararaq's injury, it would have to be her who took care of this job. She took off his coat from her back and tried to drape it over his. Even on her tippy toes she was barely able to reach his back. If it wasn't for her being so short, he was unforgivingly tall. Todilo scurried back around to the front of him to pull the coat snug around his bare chest. She was still a bit chilly but it looked best on him either way. Her hands would orchestrate a few words, "Come home with me before we leave." She reached her hand into the coat in order to find his hand. There were a few bumps and nudges into various body parts before she finally found it. There were some times he felt... gross. But that just meant he needed to be groomed again.

Todilo finally made it to her home. It was small and a bit run down. The inside was filled with various trinkets she had gathered or stolen and little furniture. She sat him down on her bed which was the most luxurious thing in her house. It was adorned with rare furs and fabrics. Just looking at it would make someone sleepy. She excused herself from the room for a moment before returning with a roll of bandages. Todilo sat herself next to him and slipped off his coat. She began wrapping the bandages around his rib cage. Even though it wouldn't do anything for him, she felt it would help. After she was done, Todilo nudged him down onto the bed with her hands. "Lay down and we will leave," she signed.

She wandered to a small chair next to the window and sat down. At an unfamiliar glance, it was a mess that consisted of clutter. To her, it was her fletching station. A place where she could make her arrows and care for her bows. Todilo tucked her bangs behind her ear and got to work. She began arranging various parts to create her own quality arrows. Instead of stones, she used shark teeth and instead of feathers, she used stiffened fish fins. It would take her a while until she was finished but she hoped he would occupy himself in the meantime.

As the two walked back to somewhere a bit more familiar, Bararaq would try to keep his breathing as steady as possible. He was quite confident that one of his ribs had been broken, or at least fractured after that yeti had dealt a vicious blow to his chest. It hurt like all hell, but luckily for him he was pretty sure that his lung hadn't been punctured.

“Thanks.” He would say, in regard to his partner returning his fur coat back to him. It felt warm, as did Todilo's warm skin as it pressed up against his massive body. He couldn't help but smirk lightly as she also wrapped her hand around his own. It wasn't long after that, they had finally reached the girl's house. Bararaq still couldn't believe how small it was, since she typically liked to own really fancy looking things. It always seemed to bring a smile to his face.

As soon as they got inside, Todilo would immediately rush to go get some bandages. It was thoughtful, but truthfully he most likely didn't need them. All he truly needed was a bit of rest before they headed back out. Which is exactly what he would do, as soon as the girl finished forcing bandages around his entire stomach/chest region. They weren't even in the right place, but she still made sure to make them as tight as possible. In reality, it hurt far more than it helped.

“Blargh.” The goliath would groan out, flopping onto his partner's comfortable bed. It would creak and groan as the man's total weigh pressed up against it. The bed was soft and the scent was similar to Todilo's own. It couldn't get much better than this, other than maybe if she fed him a bit of food as well. Though, she wasn't kind enough to do something like that.

With the last fin in place, all of her arrows were complete and bundled up in her quiver. The house was quiet. Every movement made was a clear sound. Something about it urged her to speak but as she opened her mouth, her throat tightened and her heart felt as if it stopped. Her lips locked themselves together once more before she turned over towards Bararaq with a smile on her face. "Let us go get dinner." Her signs felt stiff and emotionless as usual. It was rough signing out every single letter in their alphabet just to make a simple sentence. There were short hands between them but there were to few. Her smile turned into a frown as she adjusted her quiver to her waist and slung her bow around her arm. She began to walk out of the bedroom and out of the house to wait for Bararaq outside.

Once he came outside, she would continue to walk down the pathway through the village. It wasn't long until they reached the forest edge. Todilo turned to Bararaq and took his hook hand in hers to ensure it was tight. It was the only thing he had going for him in combat and it was quite valuable. "You are all good," she signed. Todilo turned and then made her way down the woodland path. It wouldn't be easy to find a pack of wolves, let alone one. But wolf meat sounded good tonight. As they walked, she would ponder recipes that she could make with them. There was a rustling in the bushes nearby but they went completely over her head as she became lost in thought. While she was a good shot, she wasn't the best hunter.

“Right, I’m starving.” Bararaq would struggle off the bed, grasping at his bandaged wound. He wasn’t used to pain like this, that Yeti really did do number on him. Letting out an annoyed grunt, he’d slip back into his fur coat and begin heading towards the front door.

“Alright, let’s head out.” He’d say, walking past his partner who had been waiting on him. Despite how shitty he felt at the moment, he wasn’t going to show any more weakness to her. She respected him for who he was, a fearsome warrior who didn’t need the tribe to get by. He didn’t plan on tarnishing that view she had of him. Especially not because of some stupid Yeti who got a cheap shot in. This would be on his mind until they reached their destination.

As they neared the edge of the forest, Todilo would give his hook a quick check-up. He couldn’t help but feel a bit flushed as she looked it over, turning his head away from the scene. Everything seemed good to go according to her, so they’d continue their walk into the wilderness.

As they walked further into the forest, it also seemed to get much colder. Bararaq sincerely hoped that Todilo would be fine, as he knew that she had less cold tolerance than himself. Maybe he needed to make her a coat like the one he was wearing, maybe as some kind of birthday gift or something.

As Bararaq was lost in his thoughts like Todilo, neither of them would notice the noise coming from one of the nearby bushes. They’d simply walk past it, unknowing of what might be stalking them.

The rustling had begun to get louder and louder as whatever was following them drew closer to them. Todilo turned her head when she noticed it. She drew her bow, pulling an arrow back. She felt a bit foolish as she began to notice that they were surrounded by wolves. One took a leap at Bararaq, aiming for his leg. As badly as Todilo wanted to warn him, she couldn't quite force the sound out of her mouth. In a panic, she pierced an arrow straight through it's face. The yelp it made was horrifying. As much as it was her duty, she never quite liked killing animals.

She loaded another arrow into her bow, aiming it at another wolf. Her hands were shaking from the cold and because she had to end another one of the poor animals. However, she knew her people would make good use of them despite having them killed for little reason. Todilo unleashed another arrow into one of the wolves, hitting the mark on it's head. Unknowingly, the last wolf had charged after her, biting into her bow. She gasped, dropping the weapon and pacing backwards. A nearly inaudible squeak came from her mouth as she fell backwards into the snow. She felt helpless and looked to Bararaq for safety.

"Woah." Bararaq would say in shock, stepping back from the wolf whom Todilo had just thrust an arrow into its face. It would take a short moment for the colossus of a man's mind to register what had just happened. A pack of wolves apparently had just ambushed both him and his partner. Todilo had already taken out two of them, but now seemed to be in immediate danger - as the last one had her pinned down to the frozen ground.

"Hey, get off her you dumbass." Bararaq shouted, flailing his thick leg right into the left side of the wolf, knocking it 5-meters away and killing it instantly. -- "You alright? Surely you could have overpowered that thing by yourself with ease. I feel like you rely on that bow a bit too much." The black-haired goliath said mockingly, lowering his hand down to Todilo in order to help her up.
