After parting ways with the Imuchakk, Ani. Rima found herself in a state of drowsiness, as per usual. Two days from now, the two would meet up again at the local market. ‘I wonder what she wanted to do, maybe I shouldn’t meet back up with her..' the girl thought to herself, trying to take action the way Diana would have wanted her to. After wasting a bit of time and not fully deciding on what to do, Rima decided to go ahead and prepare her bed for the night. Her normal bedtime preparation didn’t take much effort at all.

First, she would find a nice shade-tree. Second, she would pull out a wool blanket she had stowed away in her bag. Then last but not least, she would take off her traveling bag and place it somewhere nearby, covering it with a little brush so it didn’t get stolen during her slumber.

Just before snuggling up with her blanket, the magician would sit her hat down on the ground next to where she planned on sleeping. She originally planned on reading a bit before bed, but that whole ordeal with Ani had taken it out of her. Though, she didn’t really do much. She had a lot planned out for the following morning, as it was going to be her first time training in almost an entire month. After analyzing her recent clumsiness, she knew it was time to get serious. If she was ever going to avenge her brother’s death, she had to be much stronger.

It was the next day, and Ani had been thinking about a few things when she had gotten home from the park last night, the serial killer having put a few thoughts into her head. She thought that she could indeed do a few things on her own, but she still wanted to get stronger. Though first she wanted her beast to get stronger as well when she had thought about it So she decided during this day, since she had nothing originally planned for the day she would spend it training a new technique with Hoyo. After thinking about it for awhile she thought she needed a new powerful technique, something that would be incredibly strong, and useful in a battle. After realizing they only had one real range attack, the thought had come to her head. In theory Hoyo could shoot a bolt of lightning from his mouth, and she would help him develop it.

As the son had rose on the empire of Kou, and Ani had been awoken by light shining through her window at dawn. She had gotten herself and her large beast a simple snack of jerky, cheese, and some berries to eat on the short trip. She would mount Hoyo after getting dressed in her leather armor, and strapped her spear to her back. She soon enough would tell him to head towards a spot in the wild where she could set up the targets and begin training their new technique.

Soon enough they had gotten there and would begin to set up small targets made from wood, which she had carved on her own time according to her own tastes at the time. Once the targets had been set up on the rocks at varying heights and distances she would walk back over to her beast. She remembered that he was able to learn the lightning ball rather quickly, so she was hopeful that her beast would be able to learn this technique with ease. Though she was ready to spend the entire day trying to get him to be able to fire lightning from his mouth as if it were a cannon blast. "Alright buddy, are you ready to get down to business?" She asked smiling as she kissed Hoyo's head and rubbed it a bit in excitement from what was about to come, the adrenaline running through both tamer and beast.

The sun would rise much earlier than Rima had hoped for, beams of light stinging her closed eyes. It was time for her to wake up, as she had promised herself. Crawling out from her warm blanket, the magician would begin slithering up the tree she had slept by. “Damn, morning already?” she muttered to herself, wiping the crust in her eyes away. This had also smeared the makeup she had forgotten to take off before sleeping that night, making her look quite foolish for the time. However, it didn’t matter much since she would begin walking over towards the nearby pond. She’d splash the freezing water directly into her face, and take a nice white cloth she had brought along to wipe the residue away.

Stretching out her limbs to pop them, Rima was just about ready for training. All she had to do now, was to get properly dressed and get something to snack on. After about ten minutes of fumbling with her traveling bag, she had finally picked out some older clothing to wear. She’d immediately strip down and put them on, feeling slightly uncomfortable due to the clothing being quite ugly and worn. It was a simple black dress, one that had been used for her training purposes for about a year now. It wasn’t exactly in good shape, but it worked. Slipping her feet back into her geta, the purple-haired girl was finally ready to get her serious face on. She’d watch as Set crawled out of her hat on the ground, waddling nearby the assorted fruit she had laid out for the both of them.

Despite her knowing more about life magic in general, she often relied on heavy usage of heat magic instead. What exactly did she need? She wanted to create a new spell, but was unsure of the kind of commands to tell the rukh. Speaking to the rukh was second nature to her now, though they typically didn’t have very nice things to say back. Considering the rukh around her were considered tainted, and seemingly filled with grief and anger. She could remember being a child, the rukh she used to speak to were pure as driven snow. Though, that changed after that horrible incident.

She knew better than to get lost in this train of thought, though. She’d be questioning herself all day, if she kept it up. Instead, she would get right into it the heart of training. She thought back, to all the spells she had used previously. What could she do, to become stronger. After pondering that question for a moment, that’s when the answer hit her in the face. A combo. She needed some kind of ability she could combine together, creating some form of huge chain reaction. Tapping her chin in thought, she would try to take the situation by its logic. Combining two abilities would be powerful, but what exactly could she do. She had recently dabbled into learning to command the water, but could she do anything with that?

The magic to create life, to control water, and to control heat. In what order could she use those, to create something massive and powerful. Perhaps she could create some kind of heated steam bomb, though she didn’t entirely like the concept. Instead, she would try it in a different manner. “How about, this!” she would yell, waving her Headless Caster directly in front of her. The commands she had given the rukh weren’t complicated at all, instead it was as basic as one could get when controlling the red rukh. She’d watch at the furious swarms of black rukh around her amassed into a single clump around her wand, as they slowly faded into entirely different color, the color red.

“Combustion!” she’d yell out, as a strong force of hot air shot from the tip of her magic catalyst. It would continue going straight, stopping in its tracks as it came into contact with a tree. The result being; the bark of the tree had been slightly singed. The spell wasn’t incredibly powerful, but she had an idea for what it could be used for. It wasn’t much, but she still had plenty of time left in the day.

Abilities Trained:

Combustion
Tier: D-Tier
Class: Magician
Type: Offensive
Range: Long
Requirements/Drawbacks: Heat - The user must focus their catalyst directly at the designated target.
Scaling: Range: The distance the ability can travel may increase by 5m for every 10 magoi/stamina that is invested.
Sustain: -
Cool Down: 1 Post
Cost: 10 magoi | 5 magoi
Description:

  • Upon chanting the name of the spell, the caster must then direct the position of their catalyst towards a target within 10-meters of themself. A 60-centimeter blast of heat magic will then erupt out from the tip, igniting any flammable substances it may pass through.
  • The heat magic used is not actually fire, and is merely a wave of heat. Thus, the ability might be harder for one to notice.
  • This ability can travel up to 10-meters away, unless sustained.
  • The ability itself does no initial damage, but it will cause minor burns to anyone hit directly by the heat wave.

Ani was a bit nervous about this new technique, that was for sure, but the reason was rather unexpected. Ani was not nervous because she was afraid Hoyo wouldn't be unable to master the technique,. She was nervous because she knew that based on the attack she had already created with him that there was a possibility this could be a heavy hitter attack. She never knew who might get hurt with it, so she was worried she might help develop something incredibly dangerous and end up hurting someone who is innocent and undeserving of pain and suffering. She knew for sure that as she had been working out the specifics, and laying out a training plan for Hoyo that she would indeed need to make sure no one else was nearby. She didn't want someone to randomly come into firing distance and then end up getting hurt, or even possibly killed by the massive lightning blast. She definitely would not want something like that weighing on her conscious. She was a caring person after all, and to hurt someone undeserving would be like hurting a friend, or hurting family. Something that would wound her pride and morals as a person, and as a beast tamer.

Ani wasn't sure if everything was right, even though she had just asked Hoyo if he was ready. She would slowly walk up to the targets and ensure they were set up properly. After she had checked she would give herself a firm nod before taking her place right next to her beast. She would feed him a small piece of jerky before giving him a light pat on the back. "It's alright boy, go ahead and just try to fire off a blast of lightning instead of a ball this time around." She would nod before stepping to the side. Hoyo would open his mouth and electricity would start to run through his body, visible from the fact that the crystals on his back would start to glow and conduct lightning throughout them, As he watched the electricity crackle and arc between his spikes she would start to gaze at her own beast in a bit of awe. She rarely used her beasts lightning abilities, but after Hoyo had shot off a ball of lightning she knew that it was time to harness that potential. As her mind was lost in thought Hoyo would suddenly shoot off a thin lightning bolt that would knock down the target, but barely burn it. Ani would chuckle and pat her beast, who was pouting a bit at the result. "Don't worry, try to concentrate your lightning more, I know it's probably hard, but if we keep trying i'm sure you'll get it down quickly." Ani would say to him while smiling before patting his head again.

From all the affection and the like Hoyo would smile before soon enough taking a new position He looked a bit more confident, and seemed to be standing in a way that he could handle shooting off a more powerful attack. She wondered if that's why he had trouble the first time, but she didn't say anything and would watch. Once again her beasts back would glow with electricity and his mouth would open up as his teeth would begin to have small sparks crackle between them. This made Ani's eyes raise a bit as she watched and cooed to herself in pleasure. Soon enough Hoyo opened his mouth as wide as possible before he fired off a thicker lightning bolt, that was bigger, but the lightning arced off a bit before knocking down three cans. "Good job, we're getting closer to our goal buddy, before we continue we should look over some things." She said as she walked over to the targets and began to set the lightly burned targets into their proper place, while also pulling out and putting up some sturdier targets from her bag. .

Rima couldn’t help but look up at the fading sun in the distance, admiring it as she always seemed to do. It was absolutely stunning, the type of view she wished she could have shared with her late-big brother. The magician would let out an exhausted sigh, resting her chin in the palm of her hand. She had been trying to meditate for most of the day, concentrating on the small body of water that was laid out before her. Her goal here today was to master controlling this water, making it her own as she did with heat.

Manipulating the water itself was an easy enough task. What had been giving her the most trouble was when she tried throwing a bit of life into the mix. She was trying to replicate a form of magic Faris had shown her during their training way back when. Noir had used it against her as wel, at one point in their training together. The magic she was going for was to create a slimy-type substance, something that could both amplify her offense and defense immensely. It was clear to her that this form of magic was merely the combination of both life and water magic, but to what degree? The most she was capable of doing so far, was to create a thick layer of moss within the water. This frustrated her ever so slightly, but she knew she'd get it down soon enough.

The girl's concentration would be focused upon this one task for about half an hour more, until finally, results began to surface. It wasn't long after her first successful attempt, the intelligent girl had finally managed to create exactly what she had been training for.

--Timeskip: One Hour--

“Oho.~” The magician would say in amusement, watching a newly formed gelatinous orb float past her face via being controlled by her wand. The girl had done it. It took a little while, but she was finally capable of creating the correct substance. However, just to make sure of this, Rima would see just how potent the explosive properties to it actually was. By maneuvering the slime orb to about five-feet away from her, she would follow up with her newly created spell. “Combustion!” she would shout, waving her Headless Caster in the direction of the orb. Upon chanting this incantation, a blast of heat energy would fire from the tip of her wand at full speed.

As soon as the two forces collided, the slime sphere would immediately begin to react to the heatwave. A small explosion would be triggered from the spark of heat, burning away every drop of the gel in the process. She had finally reached the right balance of life and water magic, replicating the powerful composite magic known as “Slime Magic”. Upon seeing her success, Rima couldn’t help but jump in joy. However, her task of creating a useful spell with this magic was not over just yet.

Ani was impressed with her beast, and thought that it was good that she was able to help him refine this technique Though they were far from done with making it into what it would, and should be as a technique. At the current moment Ani walked over towards the cans to see the ground zero results of the technique. This would allow her to see the effects, and what they needed to work on that she didn't pick up on from watching him discharge the plasma ray. Upon looking at the strike zone, it could be seen that the lightning was dispersing against the targets when it's hitting. She examined it for a few more minutes before pulling away for a moment and consulting her journal to overview everything she knew about Hoyo, and what she was fathering from his discharged bio-electricity. It was something she would spend some time doing while she allowed Hoyo to rest, and enjoy a meal so he'd be in tip-top shape for when they would continue their training.

A few hours would pass before soon enough the blue-haired tamer would pull her nose out of from her journal and stand up, putting it in her bag and letting out a soft sigh as her tensed face relaxed. Out of the corner of his eyes the half asleep Hoyo would see his master stirring and then wake himself up slowly. Stretching out his tail, and long neck the lagiacrus would yawn, his massive fanged jaw gaping open as he shook his body to get his body awake. He walked over to her and Ani felt her lips curl into a content smile as he pressed his snout into her hand, nuzzling lightly. "Alright boy I think I figured it out." She said, which made her beast let out a soft hiss in pleasure as he tilted his head, waiting for commands from his master. She made a simple motion for Hoyo to stay in place as she walked over to the targeting area and she soon set up a dummy that she had custom-made by a few friends she made in the city. It was made to see the effects of the lightning bolt, and to help refine it into an ability that could cause discord on the battlefield.

Over the next hour, or so Ani would check out Hoyo's body and go over what he needed to do in-order to make it more like a solid strike of lightning, a bio-electric artillery blast that could provide them with the long range damage that they needed. Soon as the crescent moon had began to rise, they were running the final trial of the day. Making sure that Hoyo was standing right she instructed him to focus on his conducting and flow of lightning in his body, to try and ensure that it would all be discharged from one point. It was then that the beast opened its mouth widely. The lightning arcing from his spikes as he tried to focus. Once Hoyo was sure it was stable, he looked to his master. Ani gave a simple nod, the beast taking the go ahead. Hoyo's neck tensed as a luminescent bolt flew from his mouth, the lightning zigzagging as it danced through the air towards its target at light-speed before ultimately striking the dummy, blowing it apart and catching its remains on fire.

The training had been rather successfully, and to end it off she complimented her beast on his efforts, and the strength that he had showed her today. She was a bit proud with the the fact that he had indeed fired a bolt of bio-electrical lightning from his mouth. She thought maybe that he deserved a treat, she'd put some thought in what to give him, but at least she knew that she had someone who grew stronger for her, by her side.
