Merari crossed through one alley, cutting from one street to another as he searched for something. When he was assigned the job, all he was told was that some students were messing around with life magic and prototypes that were, basically, tree-like creatures. Then they lost their projects and they were walking loose throughout Magnostadt. Of course, he was one of the students assigned with tracking them down, and of course, they didn't give him much when it came to information. Just that he would know it when he sees it.

Forcing himself to smile, Merari stopped on the street and looked up and down. All he could see was the regular magic tomfoolery that accompanied Magnostadt and houses. Turning to his left, the Magician quietly traveled down the side path. He made sure to glance towards the backyards of the houses, his eyes peeled for moving trees.

"Aaaiiiiieeeeeeeee!"

Merari jumped when he heard the high pitch scream, his hands immediately clasping to his ears as he winced. 'Wha-what?' The Magician thought to himself as he heard nearby running, causing Merari to whirl around and try to locate where the screaming was coming from.

In one of the backyards in a house across from him, he could see a slightly older woman escaping her yard. The object that caused her to scream was a giant and tree-like, its arms slowly thrashing in the air.

Pulling Komori out, Merari ran across the street, the staff laying in his arms as he prepared to start slinging spells at the incoming tree.

The prototype slowly squeezed through the gate that the woman had left open in her panic, and as if realizing that he was there, its limbs stretched out towards him. But, he was careful to make sure that there was plenty enough space from between him and the tree creature, and so he with confidence and his Prince Charming smile, Merari began to strum a playful tune on Komori. The Rukh around him jumped around as the magic energized him, but the final nail in the prototype's coffin was when Merari flipped Komori around and pointed at it, yelling, "Gilliard!"

In a rush, the Rukh around him rushed forwards and slammed into the prototype, effectively falling it and causing it to fall over. Its body crashed to the ground, its limbs covering the ground as it made a groan.

'One out of five down,' Merari thought to himself with a slight frown as he stepped around the fallen prototype and entered the backyard. In the corner she spotted a simple tree, and, after putting up Komori, he walked towards it. Grabbing the tree, he started to scale it and only stopped after he had a semi-good look of the surrounding lots. In the distance, he spotted several other prototypes, which were now collectively heading in his direction.

Getting back to ground level, Merari climbed over the fence in, his feet leading him towards the nearest prototype. After getting into one more lot, he spotted the prototype, causing him to promptly get Komori out with alacrity.

Unfortunately, this prototype managed to actually close the gap between them, and before Merari could react, its limbs Sweept towards him. In response, his Borg flared to life, the shell of Magoi blocking the attack, leaving the Magician inside unscarred. But, his Borg did crack and fall back down after it took the brunt of its beating; however, that didn't matter seeing how Merari already raised Komori so it was pointing skywards.

"Drone!" He called before quickly lowering his staff and playing some notes. The end result was a buzz that began to grow louder and louder with passing moments before bursting something inside the prototype, causing it to collapse.

'Alright, three more.' He told himself as he climbed into the next lot and found himself facing the next enemy, which was now coming towards him.

Before this prototype could get near enough to hurt him, Merari began to play a simple, three-note tune. Just as it entered his range, Merari waved Komori from side to side, but unlike most times he cast this very spell, he poured more Magoi into it, essentially sustaining the spell so he could use it once more for one of his remaining foes.

"Allegro!" He shouted, finishing the last step of the spell that resulted in a small sound pulse/sonic boom. His magic ended up knocking the prototype over, and it remained downed afterward.

Two out of five left, and they were practically coming his way. Crossing into the next lot, Merari found himself face to face with a pair of the prototypes. His fingers immediately replayed the earlier tune, and once more he swung Komori and shouted, "Allegro!" The remaining of the Magoi that he used for the sustaining was used up, and the prototype nearest to him collapsed from the spell.

With one left and nearing, Merari got set on beginning his final spell. The tune was more difficult than the ones that he played before it; unlike the others, it was repeated backward before he moved onto pointing at the prototype with Komori. He then shouted, "Canon!"

The sound wave that was shot at the tree-like creature had the roar to it, and it blasted through its flimsy defenses. With a final groan, it fell over and Merari was finally done with the job.
