Material: Wood, Silver, Gold.
Appearance: A long staff that doubles as a cane/walking stick. It also has a large knuckle guard which reaches down the bottom of the handle. Inside the larger area where the white and gray meet, there are small gold-colored gears. Handle is 10 In ( 25.4 cm ) ending at the wood. The wood is 70 cm long totaling the whole staff to be 95.4 cm.

Zou has been busy in the last several days. People have been coming and going, the merchants have been all over business with new faces appearing daily. Spring rolling in from winter taking over the season change. Surprisingly warm for the afternoon time. Sitting inside on such an warm evening could always change if one was to visit the world beyond their home. Heading out was the move for today, not passing this moment up to enjoy the sun and clear skies not filled with black smoke or loud cannon fire.

Putting a smile across my face for the beginning,Aseo grabbing his cane coming outside strong with one powerful stride off his doorstep and into the streets. " Today such a good day. Heading to the merchant shops for some deserts wouldn't hurt." Speaking out loud turning a left to head down a back alley that would decrease the travel speed from his home to the district. Good thing to have all the back alleys, and sewer systems memorized makes moving from one location to another seem easier and quicker. Going on through the alley, clicking my cane against the stone beneath my feet for the fun of it happy for this great day to take off into the skies.

The pitter patter of feet running across rooftops disturbed the afternoon tea of many a household as a chase took place above Kou's capital city. A young man no older than 18 dressed in paupers clothes fled fearfully across the tiled Kou rooftops looking back every once and a while to see if he was still being pursued. Every time the young man turned his head he would find the red haired assassin that had come for him growing closer and closer. Being a thief wanted by the city guards for multiple crimes, the man didn't dare cry out for help lest he draw attention to himself. Even so, fear made him want to shout at the top of his lungs.

The young man was coming up on an alley between buildings which he would need to jump over. It was not big deal for him though, he'd been traversing these rooftops since he was a child. Unfortunately for him, it was impossible to dodge when you're airborne and his pursuer knew this. They had mutually leapt over many gaps during the chase but now, the killer was close enough to ensure his target wouldn't escape. Just as the young man kicked off the roof a distinct thud cracked into the back of his skull. The thief's body toppled forward crumpling lifelessly into itself causing him to miss the jump and slap against the alley wall instead. Bouncing off the wall the now dead young man crashed into the ground in a bloody mess in front of a passing stranger.

A metallic rectangle shape could be seen lodged in the back of his head, blood still oozing out from it like a sieve. Not far behind the corpse was a red haired man. He descended from above like an angel of death landing directly over the dead thief in a crouched position just 5m away from the cane holding passerby. The killing tool was removed from the thief's head, covered in blood, revealed that it had been a playing card turned weapon. The killed smiled and licked his lips before turning to look over his shoulder. A pair of golden predator-like eyes would stare at the stranger emitting an aura of killing intent.

"Aaaaah~ I've been seen~ That won't do...looks like I'll be disposing of two bodies~"

Zafar Mushtaq muttered to himself before standing up and whipping around in a spin to face Aseo in a single motion. The spin was accompanied by a flickering snap of Zafar's arm as he sent the playing card flying towards the stranger aimed directly for the center of his chest.

Name: Bloody Branch
Tier: A
Type: Sword Breaker
Appearance: The Bloody Branch is crafted from a rare crimson wood found deep within the Jade Dragon Mountains. It is durable enough to clash with common steels and ores and can be strengthened further through metallurgy thanks to its ridiculously high ignition point which allows molten metal to be forged over it. This process has been performed creating a unique alloy that is very hard and durable as the sharp edges to the blade. The weapon is only 12in(0.3m) but it possesses two branching "blades" that are jagged in shape. The grip is made from wrapped leather and designed to be held in only one hand. It's unique design and shape makes it excellent for catching and disarming enemy weapons.

Type: Weapon [Swordsman's Cloth]
Magic Type: Strength Magic
Appearance: This unique weapon is made of a rare flexible metal that uses a unique forging method to add hardness making the weapon suitable for holding an edge.  The dark grey blade looks deceptively similar to a strand of dark grey silk cloth. The handle to the weapon is a full tang wrapped in identical grey cloth which happens to be silk. The blade is 5cm wide and 3m long ending in a tapered point that has crimson markings on it resembling a snake head complete with two small embedded blood red rubies that have been cut to resemble snake eyes. The weapon comes with a "sheath" in the form of a padded plate worn around the abdomen. The sheath offers no defense from attacks however and merely protects the user's stomach from being cut when the cloth is wrapped up.
Function:

  • Void Arm - Feeding magoi into this tool causes strength magic to surround it, notable as a black glow to those who can see rukh. This function allows the user to manipulate the magic weapon freely as though it were an extension of their own body while active. The user can make the cloth-like blade move according to their will, however they must maintain a grip on the weapon as letting go will instantly cause the function to cease. 10 magoi to activate | 5 magoi to sustain.

Type: Edged Cards
Material: Steel
Appearance: A simple deck of cards mades from steel with sharpened edges allowing them to to be used as throwing weapons.
Ammunition Material: Steel
Ammunition Appearance: Each card is 6.35cm wide and 8.89cm tall. They are extremely thin having a thickness of only a few millimeters.

Name: Airstep Boots
Tier: C
Type: Magic Tool - Boots
Magic Type: Gravity
Appearance: The  boots are gilded with silver wings adorning an otherwise normal pair of leather boots. Magic circles are worked into the soles of the boots.
Function:

  • Skywalking - Feeding magoi into the boots allows the user to step onto the air as if it were a solid surface. While it does not grant proper flight, it does let the user walk on air up to 10m above the ground. 10 Magoi to Activate | 5 Magoi to sustain.


Beasts:

Species: Slave Worm {Master Mutation}
Appearance: A tiny creature measureing a mere 5mm in length, the Slave Worm is a blue parasitic worm which finds the host's brain stem and attatches itself with crude hooks that are directly linked to its own nervous system.
Drawback: The creature thrives on cortisol, the stress hormone. As a result, it causes its host to seek out self injury of at least D-tier damage at least once every thread.

Trait Requirement: Parasite Type Beast
Trait Description: The Slave Worm creates a link between its own nervous system and the host. This allows the worm to control the host, shutting down cognition in the brain temporarily. It also allows the host to give commands to other slave worms through their own parasite if it is a Master Mutation variation.
Trait Effect: For three posts per thread, the worm can take over the user's body. In this state, illusions that affect the host's brain are no longer effective and their sense of smell and hearing become powerful enough to navigate their surroundings without sight. When the worm is in control, the host also becomes violent and unable to distinguish friend from foe. They are able to ignore all pain in favor of lashing out at nearby prey, but are unable to use any advanced tactics or thought out plans.

Trait Name: Nervous Hivemind
Trait Tier: D
Trait Requirement: Parasite Type Beast | Nervous Link
Trait Description: The Nervous Link of the Master Mutation variation of a slave worm allows the user to give commands to the worm. These commands can then be transferred to creatures that have received the Slave Worm's brood.
Trait Effect: This allows the host to control other Slave Worm infected victims like puppets by forcing their Nervous Link to activate, only the Master Mutation worm's host is in control instead of the worm. This control only lasts for 1 post per thread. Victims have no memory of being controlled.

Trait Name: Brood Propagation
Trait Tier: D
Trait Requirement: Parasite Type Beast | User must inform the target IC that they've been infected.
Trait Description: The Slave Worm regularly produces eggs which are marked with the host's unique DNA. The eggs are spread throughout the bloodstream and can be found in the host's saliva or bodily waste as well. When the eggs detect that they have entered a foreign body without familiar DNA they hatch and begin racing toward the new host's brainstem. The worm that arrives first then commands the host's immune system to attack all other surviving worms until it is the only one remaining.
Trait Effect: If Zafar's blood, saliva, or bodily waste enters the body of another person or creature, they become infected with Slave Worms. There are no symptoms during the thread they were infected in. In their next thread, the victim suffers from a high fever. During this time they can remove the parasites by using any poison purging abilities that involve purging blood. Alternatively, the worms can be killed by lowering one's body temperature to just a step away from hypothermia. After 10 posts or at the start of the victim's next thread(whichever comes first) the slave worms hatch and one makes the victim into it's new host.

Victim hosts suffer from the slave worm Drawback and also can be affected by the Nervous Hivemind of a Master Mutation slave worm host.

Receiving a great deal of pain while infected(5 A-tier attacks) the slave worm will mutate into a Master Mutation variation. Once this happens, the host is immune to Nervous Hivemind and can kill their slave worm parasite at any time with a mere thought.

Description:

    Voicing to the sound, Aseo creates an low frequency sound wave, sending it towards another from 8 m away. Upon contact dolphin noises present themselves as B-Tier damage is dealt internally to the point of contact.


Aseo, released a sneeze swinging his shoulders up in a jolt. Sun light behind fading as the red trim of his kimono disappeared into the pitch darkness. The smell hit his nostrils first, then the grimey colors of trash collecting against one of the back doors became visible in the corner of his eye. Moss grew on the old bricks against the wall, and the path became rigidity making the sound of his cane's bottom louder in comparison to before. The wind blew past me, and flutters of black and white rush, Aseo's hasn't seen black rukh besides his own so something made him tense.

Getting further along the alleyway. He couldn't believe or find the words. Cane stopped in front of him held in a firm grasp. Blood flew down like rain from the corpse that just landed 5 meters away from him. What made this more conspicuous was the appearing after he body, just as quickly as it fell. Aseo was in a state of confusion. " Whh-… What?! " the vibe was floating amongst him now. Something he couldn't understand ultimately happened to him today, but it wasn't his composure taken by surprise. It was the modesty of how the man was killed.

Killing didn't effect him. It was the unquestioned, and unique character that sort of placed this discomfort in Aseo's body. ' looks like I'll be disposing of two bodies~ ' this registered. Clicking like pencil to paper. ' Is this man a hit man? Do I have time to think. Doubtful! ' Doubtful was correct, the clown of a man wasted no time to play around. He had thrown a card? Yes, A card was thrown and Aseo couldn't tell if he was able to dodge it, but for certain the Borg that appeared as it reach into the small radius of his body did.

Borg Active Magoi was unconsciously released in the orange sphere appearing around himself. By this time the card possibly deflected off to a wall, or the ground as Aseo is now woke. This clown like man was a hound ready to eat his food, with the food being Aseo. " You clownish fiend? I'll just render you unconscious for attacking me you... you? What exactly are you doing, You Seductive Sounding Clown. " while speaking Aseo would be poking the air from top to bottom, feeling the Magoi gather in his cane. Speaking wasn't his forte it was more of relying on his abilities, no faith, no matter of superior abilities. Just combative tactic.

Visible to him was the sound buzzing at a low frequency, that had built up and readied. Scaling A second buzz presented itself, and Aseo took off to the side jogging in a arch. Moving to the left of the Clown ( I believe it's your right, if It's Aseo's left. Could be wrong. ),  decreasing the range to be close enough to jump diagonally over the clown to send the Two low frequency sound at his opponents right bicep, and the back of the neck. He used his cane to ploy as distraction to help the chances of his semi-visible attack might connect. Landing on the other side about 2 meters closer then before, cane still in Aseo's hand.

OOC: I blocked the playing card with the Borg. Deflected it off towards either a wall, or the ground. You can decide. Had a small moment of talking. Then had Aseo jog to the left which is the right of Zafar, I believe. Jumped over him diagonally, sending one of the dolphin noises at Zafar's bicep, then another at the neck. Those sounds have a low buzzing noise heard by Aseo, since he's the caster. It's semi-visible to none Magicians. Ended my action with landing behind Zafar. ( Idk if I did this correct so... )

A veil of light that shatters when broken. Zafar was intimately familiar with the phenomenon which had just protected his target. His thrown card hadn't even hit the ground yet and the assassin already had a disappointed frown plastered across his face. The look in his eyes one one of detest, for there was no group of living things on the planet that disgusted Zafar more than magicians. Their magic was unnatural, but Zafar embraced its usefulness. His spite towards their race had more to do with their fundamental nature as he saw it. Magicians were weak of body and generally most had the opinion that the very purpose of Zafar's existence was a barbaric and primitive act. Hiding behind invisible shields like cowards, magicians dare to mock the divine experience that was a life or death battle with a truly strong opponent.

The decision to kill this stranger had originally been made out of professional motivations, but now such business sense about the matter had completely dissolved. The sick twisted smile brought on by the joy of killing had entirely been replaced with an almost blank look twinged with minor revulsion. Not unlike the expression one might make when killing a bug or a pest. Zafar stood and stood silently. His presence suddenly like a black maw of death as he watched the magician speak. Zafar listened to the man speak, but it sounded like little more than the babblings of a moron. For someone from a race that prided itself on intelligence, the magician seemed lacking in the mental facilities from Zafar's perspective. An observation which was reinforced upon seeing that the magician had decided to start charging Zafar.

The buzzing noise of the magician's spell could be heard and based on how he was jogging towards Zafar, clearly the spell required he get close. Or perhaps the man really was a fool and didn't realize how dangerous it would be to get close to a man such as Zafar. The assassin drew one of his playing cards and glanced at the face. "3 of diamonds...garbage..." A sick chance based fortune telling of sorts Zafar uses is to draw a card and look at its value in order to judge the measure and worth of a person. The cards seemed to be backing up Zafar's impression of the man.

Zafar remained still after drawing his card until the magician had just entered a 2m range of the assassin. Zafar's eyes widened as he watched the stranger's movements carefully and made quick mental calculations on the exact force and angle he was need to apply. The killer's wrist flickered out light lightning, the card sent through the air in order to execute Zafar's phantom dealing.  The card was sent cutting through the air on a unique trajectory and orientation which made the thin depth of the card the only tiny bit of its entirety visible to the approaching magician. The thin silhouette of the card would be hard to see as it approached Aseo's face only for its fragile orientation to suddenly break as the force behind it was no longer enough to resist natural movements in the air. The card would then flip becoming a screen which would block the magician's vision if he were unable to avoid the surprise "blinding" trick.

In the instant the card flipped, Zafar would then kick off the ground with a powerful but swift step which would carry him 3m forward, past the magician during the moment of card sight. The assassin then landed gently and lightly, like a cat having made hardly a sound. If the effect worked as intended, then by the time the magician brushed the card out of view or allowed it to fall away, it would appear as though Zafar had simply vanished. But this magician would not be so lucky that this killer would simply disappear. If only the clown faced killer really was just a delusion. Zafar turned, pivoting on the balls of his feet upon conclusion of his technique. Now facing the magician, Zafar would lunge towards him while drawing a crimson branched dagger. The assassin's right arm, Bloody Branch in hand, would finally snap outwards in a vicious slash aimed at Aseo's back intending to sever the muscles and tendons used to operate the magician's right arm.

If eye span is greater than the human average, scaling or sustains must be used to increase the number of cards thrown. The cooldown for this ability is doubled.

Description:

    With a flick of the wrist, the user sends one of his throwing cards flying towards a target's face/s so the thin millimeter thick card is hard to see. The purpose of this card flick is not to injure the opponent, but to obscure their vision. Just before it reaches the face, the card flips so the full width of its face blocks the target's vision for a brief second. During this opening, the user swiftly moves around the opponent behind them with a single step moving up to 3m. The user can't attack during this movement. The intended result is to seemingly "disappear" from the target's sight.


OOC Notes:
-Card dealt A-tier damage so your borg has been shattered.

-Based on your post, your spell is more of an aimed projectile? Your ability description lacks detail so I was a bit confused. But since you aimed for fairly small parts of my body as targets for damage, I posted on the assumption that it's a baseball-basketball sized projectile of sound magic rather than a wide spreading cone or omni-directional AoE.

-In order to jump over Zafar like you did, you would have needed to enter a range of 2m before actually jumping which should give Zafar plenty of time to interrupt your actions. Since the events have changed,
you are free to refund yourself the magoi spent on your actions should you chose not to take them. Such as the second casting of your spell.

-Used phantom dealing do get behind you sneakily.
It's not an invincible technique mind you, it's possible to not be fooled by it, but I do hope you'll provide good reason for seeing through it in your post if you do~ Ended the post aiming for a non-lethal blow which could cripple a limb if not mitigated or negated.

Aseo didn't know exactly how the clown would react to his words, but from staring at his face his expression only grew sociopath'ic like to me. The golden brim and black iris followed me as I moved in closer to release my first sound wave towards the man from my previous range. Not much mobility space for one to move in alleyways, but just enough to close gaps. The move was foolish and going to be a double-edged sword, but I made it anyways, and the clown replied back with incredible reaction. Confidence behind his skill, and ability something I could admire if He wasn't using it to attempt and murder me. Aseo's feet clicked against the cobble beneath him.

Keeping my eyes peeled unnoticed he grab another card. ' Another card? He is a true clown, carrying around such child like items. ' I thought, as the clown only flicked his wrist ever so slightly. I just continued to keep pace of my jog as something was coming my direction, but what wasn't I wasn't expecting or going to wait to arrive. Not waiting to change his path of directions before the whatever item may or may not have been thrown at him, Aseo came to conclude to change his direction. Stomping his right foot down harshly, bring up a few pebbles. Aseo jerked himself further left of incoming card, just before it broke it's momentum and turned to its side. That however didn't stop Aseo, from continuing to reach the range of the clown, standing over the dead body.

By time I had did all that, the clown himself appeared to disappeared brief in that moment. Aseo had just seen him before the card reached him. Turning to look around to understand what had just happened, Aseo noticed the clown in action. "  Porque " The scene was the clown coming directly towards me with something 'crimson' in hand. Little time I had, but nothing to stop me from trying in my arsenal. Running Ebenezer forward across the ground. Lifting his hands in the air, like he was about to accept his faith with his back to the wall, even though he was possibly out the range of the clown.

Aseo had to quickly pick his next action. The range of Aseo to the clown murderer was about 5 meters, if thought about right.  Range wasn't Aseo's forte, but being able to put out the correct a mount of offensive power was up to par. I moved pasted the clowns previous position, and he moved behind me in my previous position. Look almost like were playing tag in confide space.  My thoughts on whether my attack could 'surprise' and connect was 50/50. No doubts were present on my face. A straight shot as the ground split before me, and in front of the clown if he came towards me still. Rose vines slither into existences. Thrusting outwards at Zafar's elongated slashing arm holding his crimson blade. The rose vines coiled around the limb intending to dig into the skin like termites.

Description:

    Commanding Life, Aseo brings forth rose vines from beneath the ground 8m, away from himself. Coiling around target's limbs, digging through the skin dealing C-Tier damage.

Changed the wording. You could tell me otherwise if the way Aseo noticed Zafar pause to look at his card didn't alert him from seeing him throw it. If noticing the throw works, Aseo would jerk to his left to avoid its effects, but still barely react to him disappearing as it caught him off guard leading into the next action.

I believe to think i'm out of range of your slash, but I put possibly as meters and such confuses me. Reacted to Zafar approaching with his Bloody Branch by putting my hands up to attempt and trick him into thinking I've given up.

Activated Nuplyšęs Galūnių , in the path from Aseo - Zafar, in a straight shot to surprise the Clown with a attack from beneath him. Intending to coil and go through his right arm holding Bloody Branch

Well, now your post just doesn't make sense because if the card fails to blind you, there is no reason for you to not notice Zafar's movements. But I've held things up for too long already so I won't ask you to edit again. I'll just post and ignore that logical disconnect.

A couple things to note, if you ended your movements where I had just been standing, that would place us 3m apart initially as that is how far I travelled from my starting location. But then I immediately turned around and lunged. The time window that action takes place in should be just before you arrive and turn around as I used a speed focused ability and you were only using basic movement. I also have B-tier Exceptional Speed while you have no speed traits. So thats actually a somewhat generous time window. I could probably justify cutting you before you get more than 1.5m away from me if I wanted to press the issue.

I'll say that Zafar only travelled 1m with his lunge and that you were out of slashing range putting the final distance between us at the start of this post at 2m.

Putting your hands up is kind of a useless gesture that would have no effect on Zafar. His goal is to kill you, not capture you. So surrendering wouldn't really make him hesitate to cut you down at all.

This last note is more advice than anything. But making the vines appear from the ground between us was a poor choice. Having them erupt from behind me or directly beneath me would have been far more beneficial. Targeting the leg rather than the arm would also have served you better.

The pivot and slash would find only empty air for Zafar's Bloody Branch to sink its crooked teeth into. The magician had traveled farther than the assassin had thought possible in such a short span of time. But it was no matter, Zafar would stay on top of this prey and force it to fight him up close, although there wasn't usually any real "fighting" going on when a predator is going in for the kill. When the lunge failed to meet its mark, Zafar immediately took another step propelling him forward towards his target.

This Light Step would carry the clownish killed forward with all the speed he could muster. The mere 2m between himself and his opponent vanished in a flash giving the magician barely enough time to perform his scraping of the staff against the ground before the crimson dagger shot forward in a strike. Zafar stabbed at Aseo's chest aiming for the heart with the piercing blow when suddenly the ground burst and vines emerged moving up to tightly bind the killer's limb. This action would save Aseo from being stabbed as thorny bondage dug into Zafar's forearm drawing blood from multiple small puncture points.

The magician was only delaying the inevitable however. The instant Zafar felt his arm stopped, his Nimble Hand was at the dark grey metal wrap around his waist grasping onto a handle which had been hidden among its folds. The glowing light of a magic circle could be seen on the wrap as well as a black aura the magician might recognize as strength magic. Magoi flowed from Zafar into the tool bringing the Void Arm to life, its cloth-like blade would unravel from his waist in a slashing arc that threatened to cut into Aseo's abdomen horizontally while simultaneously severing the vines which bound Zafar's arm. All this takes some time to explain, but it would have occurred in but a small fraction of time giving the magician little more than a precious second to react.

    An extremely basic and simple ability in which the user performs a single powerful kick off of the ground or some other sturdy surface to launch themselves up to 3m in any direction.

Appearance: This unique weapon is made of a rare flexible metal that uses a unique forging method to add hardness making the weapon suitable for holding an edge.  The dark grey blade looks deceptively similar to a strand of dark grey silk cloth. The handle to the weapon is a full tang wrapped in identical grey cloth which happens to be silk. The blade is 5cm wide and 3m long ending in a tapered point that has crimson markings on it resembling a snake head complete with two small embedded blood red rubies that have been cut to resemble snake eyes. The weapon comes with a "sheath" in the form of a padded plate worn around the abdomen. The sheath offers no defense from attacks however and merely protects the user's stomach from being cut when the cloth is wrapped up.
Function:

  • Void Arm - Feeding magoi into this tool causes strength magic to surround it, notable as a black glow to those who can see rukh. This function allows the user to manipulate the magic weapon freely as though it were an extension of their own body while active. The user can make the cloth-like blade move according to their will, however they must maintain a grip on the weapon as letting go will instantly cause the function to cease. 10 magoi to activate | 5 magoi to sustain.

Trait Effect: The character can now outrun most mounts and maintain their speed for an hour. At this level they are equal to a C-tier fanalis in speed.

OOC:
-Approached quickly using another movement based ability closing the distance in order to almost strike you, but your spell saves you just in the nick of time.

-Instantly grabbed and activated my A-tier magic tool and its magic function.

-Used the magic function to make the weapon unravel and slash horizontally while uncoiling allowing it to sever the vines and attack you.

-The attack is coming fairly fast, you don't have much time to dodge. But the weapon is still partially coiled meaning it can't extend to it's full 5m length. So it is possible to avoid getting cut in half at the stomach, but difficult to dodge being damaged entirely.

-The distance between us is now reduced to 1m or less.

Irrational decisions, and horribly thought of actions was becoming my downfall. A short life was presenting itself through these few seconds of time. My attack connected with the creation of the hole between him and the clown. This didn't stop the clownish-man. He continued lunging forward, leaving Aseo in a tight position. Sustaining, and Scaling his ability, the vine would trail through the arm, intending to impale into the collar bone, and shoulder of his weapon Bloody Brooch arm. The vine didn't need it's stem to survive after Zafar's next action, that would be the harsh awakening.

He had black rukh gather. It wasn't any sort of deprivation. It was strength magic. Aseo couldn't believe he kept such a magic tool hidden in plain sight without him noticing. Aseo's brain trying to run multiple possibilities. Hypothetically, Aseo was about to be cut through his stomach if he didn't evade this attack. He couldn't exactly think of how to click his cane against the ground, and doubt drawing a imaginary circle would take more then a second. In the moment the clowns hands moved like a blur. Only my eyes could follow as something uncoiled from his waist. It was upon Aseo's side swinging in a large arc. Jumping back was the instance reaction. However being in such a close proximity the blade had spilled blood. How much? Aseo couldn't tell, but by how the pain felt from his lower body, and what he saw on the ground forming in droplets was his own. The crimson staining the ground, as a med-cut to the side, and half way across his stomach leaked blood.

Aseo's eyes bloodshot at this point. Using his hand applying pressure to the wound to draw a imaginary line, he felt his legs start to weaken.  Barely getting out of 1m from the clown, but making the distance 2m left Aseo with barely anything left to use. His grip on his cane loosen, but he still used it to stand. Aseo twisted the forces around the clown or in front of the clown between him and Aseo. Limping to the side, standing with his back to the opening of the alleyway, Aseo smiled. Blood dripping from his wound, he started to put pressure back on. Rubbing the forces together, causing the chain explosion between the two. It wasn't large enough to cause serious damage, the real reason behind Aseo using it was to knock himself away with the catch of the explosion. If he is caught in it. Knocking him back into the streets for everyone to see him, or to at least make it visible that something is happening to alert the guards.

Your spell makes no mention of being capable of sustaining after being severed from its root. It also specifically states that the spell originates from the ground. It makes sense for you to be able to continue controlling the vines on the end still connected to the ground, but the severed sections should go lifeless as their link to the magoi source(which would be flowing from the origin point) should have been cut. That said, I'll be posting as if your sustain had no effect on the vines that are wrapped around Zafar.

The succulent sensation of a blade slicing through flesh was transferred into Zafar's grip around his deadly weapon as it did its work. Severing the vines had been a lucky bonus but the true value of his last attack, in the clownish assassin's eyes, was certainly how it had tasted of the magician's supple flesh. A twinge of excitement ran down the killer's spine as his bloodlust became tempted, the meager spilling of sanguine essence far from enough to sate the gluttonous Zafar Mushtaq. Golden irises stared with the wild look of a hunting beast as the human assassin focused his eyes on the retreating figure of the magician. The Void Arm continued due to a sustained flow of magoi which allowed Zafar to will his blade into unraveling from his abdomen fully. Given the speed of the weapon this act would take only a brief moment, but it was certainly long enough for Aseo to grasp respite enough to put the desired distance between them.

There was no safety in the magician's current position, a mere two meters being far too short a gap when facing off a killer as swift as Zafar. Then there was the fact that the Abyss Piercing Cloth had a range of three meters as well! The threat of death would soon be upon the inexperienced magician once again. Looming proof of mortality was all but undeniable, however the precious time in preparation he was allotted due to Zafar's decision to fully unravel his magic tool would prove to be a precious live saving boon. The assassin swept his dagger wielding arm through the air  casting off the now lifeless vines as he began to dash forward intending to make another stab for Aseo's chest while willing his void arm to reach around to the right positioning itself to ambush the magician from his blind spot. A sudden gesture from Aseo gave the clown cause for hesitation however.

The staff began to draw a circle and Zafar drew upon his extensive experience to conclude that nothing good for him would come of it. With great effort he dug his feet in and forced his forward momentum to a stop while calling the Void Arm back towards himself where it would coil in front of his torso and face defensively. The effort wasn't wrong, but it was too late to be fully effective. By the time the grinding warped space burst forth in an explosive blast, Zafar's defenses would only have partially formed. The blast wave washed over Zafar scraping against the patches of skin which were still exposed, his arms which were now crossed in front of his face taking the brunt of the force. Thankfully, the attack was fairly weak and negligible abrasions were all Zafar suffered.

The aftermath of the blast saw a cloud of kicked up dust gradually clearing. Zafar peered through the haze and began to move forward once more but instantly stopped himself once he saw that the magician had been knocked backwards all the way out into the street. The killer bit his own lip hard enough to break skin and silently cursed to himself. The magic tool weapon he used quickly wrapped itself back around his waist and his dagger was returned to its sheath as well. Every impulse said to kill the magician, but Zafar knew better than to take this fight into the public streets. Instead, he turned heel and took off in the other direction. Evading the city guard was more important than silencing a single witness.

Zafar would flee the scene at full speed, taking to the rooftops after turning a corner only to drop down into alleys again a few blocks away so as to make it difficult to track his route. Given Zafar's speed, he was gone from the area in short order leaving the injured magician to live another day.
