Job Description:

Aunt Suzie:

Helping the Armory paid its toll on Faris, who now wanders the deep forests of Kou searching for a place to sleep. As he gets to the end of the woods, he is confronted with a set of many mountains, one of which containing an old looking staircase that stretches for miles and miles up the mountain.

"Huh, that looks interesting. Maybe there's a place I can rest peacefully up there.", he continues to walk towards the staircase, beginning his journey up the tall mountain. Hours go by as he climbs the staircase, not letting his fatigue get to him, motivated to find a safe place to rest, he continues on.

As he reaches the mid-section of the climb, he notices a man, wearing what appears to be a robe covered in blood, lying on the steps. The blood trails down the steps to Faris' feet. "That doesn't look good.", Faris runs up the steps to see what he can do to help.

As he approaches the unconscious man, he notices that he has what appears to be a vicious bite mark on his arm, which is profusely bleeding. Faris does not hesitate to pick the man up and run quickly up the staircase, hoping that what ever is at the top of this mountain is friendly.

As he reaches the top, he notices a large temple, which has a few men sitting outside appearing to meditate. Faris dashes towards them, interrupting them from their meditations.

"HEY! WAKE UP!!", he drops the wounded man and begins shaking the monk, still in his meditation, appearing to not notice the shaking. "COME ON YOU ASSHOLE WAKE UP!! WE HAVE A SITUATION!"

"He can't hear you.", a monk speaks as he exits the temple. "What do you mean?", "He is in a deep state of meditation.", Faris looks curious, but remembers the man bleeding out next to him, "We need medical attention immediately, I found this man halfway up the steps bleeding out."

The monk looks down and gasps, "Brother Marcus! I'll be right back!", the monk runs inside and gets one of their healers to take the man inside.

"I hope he's going to be alright.", the monk smiles, "You are a very caring individual, thank you for saving him.", Faris rubs his head, smiling from the compliment, "What was he doing down there anyways?", the monk smiles at Faris' curiosity and explains: "Here at this temple, we practice a very deep state of meditation, which can help give you guidance.", the monk goes into further detail, explaining how the ritual works.

Faris' ears perk up when the monk describes the peace of mind obtained from completing the meditation. All Faris wants is to be able to relax for once, no worries of his past coming back to haunt him again.

"Is there any chance I could partake in this ritual?", the monk looks very happy that someone outside the brotherhood is interested in this ritual, "Well, since you saved Brother Marcus, I see no reason why you can not join us in this beautiful ritual.", Faris jumps up and down, cheerful, until the monk chimes in once more, "...But you'll need to collect some things before we can do it."

Faris' face turns to regret, "Oh...let me guess, it's the stuff that Brother Marcus was trying to get?", the monk nods, "You will need 15 yellow bloom lillies, which are located at the bottom of the steps, 5 purple tinted tulips, which can be found near most rivers in Kou, and finally 10 green flute reeds-", Faris interrupts, "Oh that's easy! I'll start now!"

Faris starts running towards the steps down, but the monk shouts out, "WAIT! The only place you can find the green flute reeds is in a very dangerous part of the forest.", Faris sighs, "Of course they're located in the most dangerous place.", Faris turns back to the monk and smiles, "But I'm not scared. I'll get those ingredients and be back in no time!"

As he runs down the staircase, Faris can't help but think about how tired he is. He wants all of this to get over with quickly, so he continues on. Upon reaching the bottom of the gigantic staircase, he notices the bloom lillies the monk mentioned. "Piece of cake", he walks alongside the base of the mountain, picking up lillies until he reaches 15. "Alright...now to get those purple tulips.", he runs towards the first river he sees, as he approaches it, the sun gleams upon the surface of the river. "Man...that sure seems relaxing...", Faris thinks to himself.

Then he gets an idea, "After I get these tulips, I can take a quick nap and go grab those green reeds. Easy peasy." The long, black haired man skips around picking up the purple tulips, humming a song to himself. After half an hour of collecting, he finally gets the 5 purple tinted tulips. "Finally...time to sleep!", Faris lays down against a tree, closing his eyes, and enters dreamland.

Just as his dream was getting good, Faris is abruptly pulled out of his sleep by the sound of growling. As he opens his eyes, he is confronted with the sight of a Wolf charging towards him at a very fast pace.

Wolf:

Faris' eyes widen, he Mad Dashes to the side of the wolf, grabbing Aunt Suzie from his back, swinging her horizontally towards the wolf. The wolf ducks under the swing and jumps towards Faris, using its claws to cut Faris on the face, leaving a nasty wound. Faris swings towards the wolf again, but the wolf is too fast. Once again, the wolf charges him, bringing its jaws down onto his arm. Faris screams in pain, but smirks devilishly at the wolf.

"I GOT YOU NOW!!", Faris brings the wolfs head up as he uses his free arm to slam his hammer upon the wolfs skull, cracking it open.

Faris drops the body of the wolf onto the ground, ripping a piece from his robe to cover the bite wound, which is quite deep. He searches around the nearby bushes for any kind of medicinal herbs. He spots a patch of Yarrow, and picks some up. Opening his cloth bandage, now covered in blood, he places the yarrow atop of the deep bite mark, he re-wraps the wound with another piece of cloth ripped from his robe.

Looking onward, his quest is not over yet. Unfortunately, his nap is.

'One more thing to grab, then I can get this all over with.', Faris thinks to himself. He treads into the deep forest, searching for the 'dangerous' place that has the green flute reeds. The bleeding in his arm starts to stop as the Yarrow takes effect.

Faris looks around for any sign of the reeds. As he looks around, he sees a cave that has a small amount of the reeds outside of it, "Bingo", he looks into the cave, which is very dark, but a small patch of green flute reeds sits at the very back. 'Better be careful, I don't want to run into one of those wolves again.', he thinks to himself as he enters the cave.

As he gets deeper into the cave, he hears a snoring sound. Looking around, he tries to find the source of the noise. Faris looks down, gulping as he sees a Bear sleeping.

'SHIT!!!', Faris didn't let this make him panic. He kept his cool and began to slowly tip-toe to the reeds. After a few minutes of collecting them, Faris slowly tip-toes back out of the cave. "Phew.", he takes a step forward, hearing a loud snapping sound. He looks down, he stepped on a branch, causing the sound to echo straight into the small cave, with reverberates so much that it shakes the entire interior.

A loud roar comes from inside the cave, "AWW COME ON YOU'VE GOTTA BE KIDDING ME!!", Faris bolts away from the cave, attempting to find higher ground. But before he could get the chance to think, everything around him begins to shake.

Bear:

He turns his head back the way he came, to see the Bear from earlier now hunting him down at fast speeds. His arm has stopped bleeding for the most part, but he wasn't about to earn another serious wound.

The Bear immediately raises its arm, swiping vertically downward at Faris, who uses his Mad Dash to avoid it, grabbing Aunt Suzie, swinging her horizontally, hitting the bear on the side. But the Bear is unaffected by this swing.

Faris gets annoyed at this, "OH GIVE ME A FUCKING BREAK!", the Bear swipes once more, slashing Faris with its claws. Faris brings Aunt Suzie up to block the attack. As the Bears claw hits Faris' hammer, the force of the swipe causes Aunt Suzie to go flying away from him. "Shit! You are really beginning to piss me off.", the Bear continues its attack by lunging forward, attempting to bite Faris.

"I DON'T THINK SO!", Faris uses Mad Dash once more, dodging to the side of the Bear again, except this time using the force of the Bears lunge against him, clinching his fist and using his Haymaker to punch the Bear right through the mouth. A blue flame forms around his arm as he does this, burning the cloth on his arm, and protecting him from the Bears' teeth.

The punch goes right through the Bears mouth, pushing the Bears' neck back further and further until it is finally ripped off of its body, sending the head of the Bear flying like a bullet through small trees, which get knocked down as it flies away.

Faris pants, "Take that, you bastard." He looks down at his arm, which is now smoking from the flame. His wound from earlier is now sealed shut from having the flame on it. Faris breathes heavily, taking a moment to regain his stamina.

Swiftly chasing his footsteps, he heads back to the temple, climbing the stairs as fast as he can. As he reaches the top, he wastes no time to enter through the door.

"Welcome back, stranger.", Faris realizes he never introduced himself to the monk. "Where are my manners? My name is Faris, Faris Basil.", "It's an honor to meet you, brother Faris. I am Brother Mark. Do you have the ingredients?", Faris nods, grabbing them from his rucksack, handing them over to the monk.

As Brother Mark stirs the ingredients together, mashing them into a sort of gel. He hands the bowl to Faris, who sits on a large pillow, shirtless just wearing his pants. "I am going to apply this to your forehead, which will cause a great state of euphoria, which you will wake up from tomorrow afternoon. It is a powerful experience, so be prepared to find your destiny.", Faris focuses as the monk rubs the gel onto his forehead.

After a few minutes of waiting, Faris grows impatient, "Well this isn't working.", Brother Mark shakes his head at Faris' impatience, "Give it time. You must be like a river. Flow down-stream, go along the waves.", Faris focuses once more, trying his hardest to be patient, but his excitement in not containable.

An hour goes by when Faris starts to feel the gel taking effect. Everything around him begins to disappear, he floats in a black abyss. His long, black hair flows like it were underwater, his movements slow, creating an after-image. "Shit...this isn't like those mushrooms...",  he starts to have visions; a short, purple hair girl with heliohaptin tan skin, and the vision of his mother in danger. The experience begins to get intense, sending him into a deep state of mind, where he contemplates his actions thus far, deciding to let fate guide him for  a little while to see where it goes.

And then he wakes up, feeling extremely well rested, he jumps up. Everything seems more colorful and full of life. "Beautiful, isn't it?", Faris turns to Brother Mark, who has a cup of green tea, which he hands to Faris. "I can't thank you enough for this experience. But I had an odd vision, about a girl with purple hair...", Brother Mark looks to him, smiling, "Perhaps it is your destiny? Seek this person out, let fate guide you.", Faris smiles as he finishes the tea, placing it on a nearby table. He then turns to the door and starts jogging towards the staircase down, now fully rested and ready to meet his destiny.
