The sun rises slowly over the lush, steep, and misty mountains of the Zou Empire. This was a place filled with mystery and magic. Stories of brave warriors training among the bamboo forest, wise mages sitting on the tops of the tallest mountains, and fair maidens echoed in this part of the world. The early morning mist refracted the sun’s rays making it a dangerous place to travel through, one never knows what could be lurking in the fog and brush. A lone figure makes his way on a dirt and stone path, a white cloak covers his head and body. In his hand was a wooden staff, the staff of a mage. A small bit of ruhk fluttered about the boy carelessly.

Noah had found himself walking in the forest for nearly an hour now he was not lost per say but it had become quite clear to him that he was not heading in the direction that he once believed he was. He had only arrived in the country a few hours earlier, his ship that he took passage on from Balbadd was not heading to the capitol city like he first believed it was, no this was heading to a small port town on the south eastern shores of Zou. After arriving there Noah had bought a small and simple map along with some provisions, mainly water. He asked a local the quickest way to the big city and he simple pointed him down this path.

As the path started to fade away from stone to dirt is when Noah began to suspect that it was indeed the wrong way. Noah had not passed a single soul on this bleak walk, most likely due to the fact that he had decided to set out in the middle of the night and dawn’s first light was just know showing itself. He was not tired though, his adrenaline was pumping, not as much in a fight or flight situation but still enough to keep him going even after walking this long. He did not fear the jungle though, he doubted there was much out here that he could not handle on his own and even if he could not handle them he could at least out fly them, hopefully.

Noah had heard of this area in the world in many of his books that he read as a child. His mother always said that this place was home to so many different plants that there was at least a cure for every illness known to man out here, just they have yet to be uncovered. His mother always said she was going to take him here. The one time he had been in Zou before this moment was when his father had brought him here to go on a diplomatic envoy. Trade with the country was going south fast and Helio decided that it would send several higher ranking members of its country to help work out a system. It all ended out well though and trade went back on as it always had, though Helio had to pay a price, one of the other noble families had signed the contract with a marriage pact with one of the noble families of Zou.

Noah carried on the path keeping his eyes and ears open to anything that might give him help or harm depending on the situation. The sun was nearly above the mountains now and the fog had begun to break apart. Animals started to stir from their sleep and the mountains were slowly coming to life for the new day. Up ahead a fork in the road appeared, well three paths branching off from this current one appeared. There was a sign here, one written who knows how long ago. The words had started to fade making it difficult to tell where anything was. Noah pulled down his hood and looked at the sign hoping to be able to decipher it with just sheer will power, that or hope that another would pass by soon and be able to help him.

Sara walked down the long path from the town she had just been in which was Magnostadt. Still disappointed in her inability to conquer a dungeon she felt that she needed to become more powerful and become more lethal in order to win power. Sara walked with her back straight and her sword in her scabbard strapped to her waist. She was traveling alone, having ditched Zander after recent events. She wondered if she could face her father after such a shameful performance and a failure of a mission. Word had gotten out that a new dungeon was up, and many went to conquer it, yet Sara did not want to conquer a dungeon in the name of Reim just quite yet. She wondered if she could get strong enough so she could enter one of those locations alone without having to worry much about it. The problem was rather than a magician who had ranged abilities, she was forced to fight close range all the time and that simply bothered her. Therefore she would have to strengthen herself as an individual who didn't have any special techniques, only relying on her martial arts and natural speed and strength.

She traveled down the path slowly taking in everything that nature had to offer. She had left Magnostadt quite early, being disciplined. The Fanalis Corps training had gotten her into the habit of waking up at extremely early hours to start her day off. This mean that she was usually awake before everyone else. This also meant that she retired for the night earlier than most too. She wasn't quite a partier, and she was simply your average girl just trying to bring honor and respect to her family. She looked ahead and saw various mountains, she was drawing close to the Zou empire. She had goals and motives for that empire. Her dream was to get a piece of land form it in the name of Reim. She was the definition of someone who had a great sense of nationalism.

As Sara approached the mountains she saw a figure. At first it was quite hard to make out the figure, but she could notice he had black hair. She walked towards him seeing the sun up ahead slowly starting to rise. Her goal was to make it to the Zou empire before the sun completely rises. As she reached the man there were two separate roads. One went left, one went right and in-between was a sign that had arrows pointed both ways. She walked towards the man and was questioning him, willing to be the tourist to someone who was probably an inhabitant. "Excuse me sir.. You wouldn't happen to know which way the Zou empire is?" Sara asked. She seemed to talk with confidence, and the way she carried herself made one think she was sophisticated, nice, and elegant. Yet she might of been one of the most Arrogant, strict, and harsh prudes on earth. Yet she wouldn't come off that way just yet. She had to make acquaintances with the boy before she scared him off.Sara had never really had a relationship therefore she didn't quite do the entire guy thing. The most time she ever lasted with a guy was in battle. Even after battle the longest she has ever been with a guy might of been with her father when they eat dinner. She is truly a father's girl, yet her personality was the reason she was socially awkward towards men. They weren't quite fond of her, and the feeling was mutual to her.Now that didn't mean she hated them. It just meant that she wouldn't care if one didn't want to have any friendship with her because of her awkwardness towards them.

As Noah stood there in the road trying to decide which path to take the sound of another approaching caught his attention, though not until the figure was literally on top of him. The sound was that of a woman, a woman who was alone in these mountains but had no fear or doubt in her tone, somebody strong Noah presumed. He turned around seeing the red headed girl standing before him. The first thought that crossed his mind was that she was of the race called fanalis, a group of people that were known for their speed and strength. Only a fool took on one of them in their prime, no wonder she was not afraid to ask Noah for help. Too bad for her that Noah was in the same boat as her, lost. He gave her a kind smile but at the same time was looking her over a bit. He could not afford to be careless when he was possibly wanted for murder, who knows who the Pharaoh might hire to kill off a trader.

“Oh..hello. So you are lost too huh? I’m looking for the capitol as well but these signs seem to have had better days.” He gave a slight chuckle as he nodded towards the sign. “I have never really been to this part of the world before so I am afraid that I am probably the most clueless person around to ask. Maybe you might find a village down one of these paths that can help you out, I think that might be our best bet.” He tried to hide his accent as much as possible, due to his mother being from Reim his skin was not as dark as most his countrymen, he could pass for a citizen of Balbadd honestly if he wanted or needed to, and nobody had ill will towards such a laid back country.

The male gave Sara a kind smile and she could already determine he was another friendly face simply by the way he acted to a stranger coming up. Not everyone smiled for a new face. She laughed at his joke regarding signs having better days. She nodded and agreed. "You've got a point. These look a bit worn down. I'll  try to file a complaint once I get to town." She said still staring at it trying to decode the mystery. It was something that would her nerve wrecking for her since she was slightly OCD about neatness. If something wasn't the exact way it should be when she wanted it to be that simply would cause chaos. The man talked about how he had never bent to that part of the world and Sara agreed with him. "Me. Too.. Its quite beautiful isn't it?" She said questioning him. The man talked about how he was afraid about being the most clueless person there. She smiled, she was a fanalis. The fact that she was one made it so that most people could tell they weren't he smartest race out there. Yet she wouldn't bring that up. Maybe the man could already tell by her hair, or maybe he didn't know at all. It was still something in the works.

She listened to the mans suggestion about finding a village and she slightly thought about it, before agreeing. There was no rush into getting into the Zou empire and she had nothing better to do with her time so what would be the harm of hanging out with as stranger for a short amount of time. She found no harm in it, therefore she would go with him. "Well if I go to that village you have to come with me." She said. She didn't give him  chance to respond and began walking forward hoping he would follow. The fact of the matter was she couldn't go to that town by herself. It was fear that someone would see her hair color and then the next thing that happened would be her being sold on the slave market. Usually she took care of herself, but that could be debated in some situations. If a man was as powerful as her father, or simply physically stronger than her and more intelligent she would easily become a slave.

The man she was with seemed harmless, and he seemed like he could help. Plus he didn't seem like he was from another race that could overpower her in physical capabilities so she wasn't quite worried about fighting him in a physical fight.  It was a calculated move by her. When both people were outside of their respected kingdoms it was survival of the fittest, and if Sara's life was on the line she would become the fittest. Even if it meant that she would need to use someone else as protection.

The girl was rather forceful, a fanalist tendency for you. Noah just smiled as the girl started to walk down the path. It had been a long time since he traded words with one of their race let alone hung out with them this could serve interesting, if not conversational wise then maybe action wise. The sun was starting to beam warmly on the two and with it came a nice breeze rolling through the mountains, the wind seemed to give Noah a little push down the same path of the woman. He started to pursue her, slowly at first trying to watch her walk, seeing her muscles flexing and un-flexing with each step. He shoulders were slightly broader than most human’s though that was to be expected in a race known to cause earthquakes with just the steps of their feet. He wondered what kind of person this woman was, a free slave, a member of Riem’s renowned Fanalist Corps, or maybe just a fist for hire, those seemed to be a popular trade these days with war brewing like a summer storm.

After a few strides behind the girl Noah’s pace quickened. He would be right beside her in only a matter of 5 steps. With the wind blowing his robes hood would fly about freely along with his hair. A warm smile crossed his face as he soaked up in the sun. He was still wary of this woman but he was not so much that he was going to let it ruin his nice day. He started to whistle a tune that his mother had taught him as a child, a simple song from Reim, a song about a blue jay that sored through the air free. He wondered if the woman knew the song, if she was indeed from Reim she would surely know but if she was from another country it be rather remarkable if she would. The song was short but still a nice little thing to make the bore of walking less a chore and more a relaxing adventure.

By the time he was done whistling the song the sight of smoke could be seen from the distance, a town perhaps? “Looks like we did not have to go too far after all to find somebody that can help us.” As they got closer it could be seen that a make shift camp had been made here, wooden walls had been thrown up in a circular fashion blocking the path. A single entry way was seen nearly 40 meters in front of the two. There was nobody on guard duty at least that was Noah’s first thought before he noticed the iron cages he could see through the main gate into the camp, people were locked up it could mean only one thing, slavers. Noah held his staff out stopping the woman in her tracks. “Wait.” He wondered if she saw the cages as well or had an eerie feeling like he did. His head looked from side to side trying to see if there was any enemies nearby. All seemed calm in the forest but that might not be true.

Sara took a gentle step along the path feeling the wind throughout her body and breezing through her hair.  She held a bad in her right arm, and it was small and easily carried it seeme dlike. It seemed like the man increased his pace coming closer to her quickly. She simply continued to walk normally awaiting for him to catch up, eventually he did. The man began to whistle a song as the two walked. One that most citizens of Reim knew. Sara smiled as the song went on. She began to hum it along with him, not really having the voice for singing she preferred to hum or whistle. Yet she doubt that two people whistling the tune would sound as beautiful therefore she hummed it with a smile on her face. "So it seems like you know that song. I'm taking it that you are from Reim too?" Sara asked with curiosity. She continued to walk down the path  seeing a town in t he distance. The man gave commentary on the new found sight they had in front of them.

"I agree. This looks like a good place." Sara said. There was a single entry into the small towny where both parties were heading and it seemed like  there was no guards at all. She continued to walk nonchalantly yet alert. The town didn't seem so lively to her. Maybe it was just a off day. The next thing she knew the men held out his staff and Sara simply stood there stopping in front of it before looking down. She looked at the staff and wondered why was it in front of her, yet she looked upward and saw in front of her. Being a Fanalis she had an extremely keen eye sight which made seeing things like iron cages and slavery was something she could see in the distance. She clenched both fist seeing it in front of her. Simple anger ran through Sara's head, yet at the corps she was taught to somewhat sustain the anger. She was a Fanalis meaning she was on a short fuse. One more thing and she could possibly explode not he nearest thing around her. She was frustrated, eager, and impulsive. She was a bomb waiting for someone to cut the wrong wire.

She asked Noah a question. "I'm not sure about you, but i'm going to help these people." She said taking her right hand and attempting to move Noah's stick downward gently, not putting any strength into it. "I'm gonna take down those walls. Then whoever made this mess." She said as she began to run forward towards the village with complete anger.

The woman seemed to give no regard to Noah’s warning after she saw the cages, brash actions but that was her race’s nature. Noah kept sight of her running but was more focused on the forest around him. Something was moving among the trees and brush that was certain but what and where was the bigger question at the moment. The ruhk fluttered around him sporadically as he gathered not only his senses but also a large quality of energy readying himself for an ambush. The woman cleared the distance between the two rather quick, quicker than Noah could ever accomplish. She had said she was going to take down the walls a rather easy feat for her he guessed. At the sound of a few leafs rustling to his back left side causing Noah to spin around. His eyes narrowed and his grip tightened. He peered into the forest but could not see anybody or anything moving among the green.
Cowards hiding in the brush, they aim to make me a slave as well…fools

From the direction of the rustle came a swarm of tiny needle looking objects heading right for Noah. He was alert to the incoming attack but still had little room to dodge or counter, he simply raised his left arm up taking the blow right there. The damage was almost not even worth mentioning, minor scraps and bleeding. He was more pissed now than wounded. With the redheaded woman safely outside of his wrath area a black aura wrapped around him. The white ruhk was quickly stained black as well. A black fog rolled out consuming the trees around Noah as well as any living thing that might be hidden in there. The sound of a human screaming was heard, music to Noah’s ears. A baleful smile crossed his face. As the trees withered away he saw a lone figure clutching what appeared to have once been his hands. Part of his nose and face had also been. The man was useless now, no hands and barely a face what kind of slaver would he make. The fog was dismissed just as quick as it had formed, Noah did not want to keep up the magic supply nor did he wish to scar this area of the mountains just to get some spineless rodents out of their hiding place.

He walked over the man who was still dazed at the fact that he had lost nearly all his flesh. Noah kicked him in his gut, which too felt as if it had lost flesh and organs. “Where are your comrades? I know a weakling like you couldn’t capture people for the slave trade all by yourself.” The man was coughing up blood at Noah’s kick. He was scared, the look in his eyes showed that. “They..they..they are inside. I’m just the look out please let me live!” Noah doubted that this man would live much longer even if he did nothing to him, he was losing blood and fast, without the skin to keep it all nice and neat inside his body is was now oozing out all over the ground. He just turned around and started to jog near the camp yelling out to the girl to warn her. “Yo! They others are inside be careful! I’ll support you!”

Sara ran towards the town, hearing Noah shout about how there was more inside. She didn't quite mind, and figured it would only make her better. As she reached near the entrance. As she arrived she already noticed men had taken notice dog the Ruckus the two had started causing, or the ruckus Noah caused. As she arrived a man slid out waving a wand pointing towards her. She expected some kind of beast, yet all she got was two brooms coming toward her. Each darted at her at 10 m/s like an arrow while she was 15 meters away. As they approached she spun around one, and unsheathed her sword at the other broom. As she spun and unsheathed her sword. Her back would feel wind run against her hair as she successfully invaded broom number one, and she would take out her sword and parry broom number two. AS it was parried it would go upright. and Sara grabbed the broom with her bare hands and snapped it in half with ease. She looked forward not worrying about the other broom, hoping Noah could take care of it and she jumped toward the first mage. She then began to run towards the man who had the broom. He turned around and began to run, yet she jumped forward straight at him landing on him with her knees. As she landed she stood up and looked around prepared for anything.

No fear, this woman was charging straight ahead with a determination to ruin whomever hid behind those walls day. Oh well. Noah jogged behind. He no longer feared of being ambushed, any one that had witnessed what he did to the man in the trees would surely think twice before trying anything sneaky on him. A smile crossed his face as he ran, even though this was a dire situation it was still exciting. As a broom came flying at the redheaded woman she quickly whipped out a blade slicing it in half as well as bashing the magician casting the spell that brought life to the broom.

The magic that was being used was life magic there was no doubt in it, from the needles flying at Noah’s arm to these brooms now being brought to life it was rather obvious. Simple versions of life magic, nothing that compared to Noah’s own. He had closed the gap to only about 10 meters from the walls of the little fort area. He jumped up taking flight. He was able to clear the wall and the red headed warrior with ease. He noted that she was about to kill one of the slavers, or at least from this angel that is what it looked like. As he got over the wall he noticed a few cages with people being held captive along with three magicians standing there guarding them. The men all held their wands out and started to cast their spells, though pitiful they were.

Noah hovered there in the air nearly 10 meters from the ground and 3 meters away from the men and the cages. His eyes locked onto the objects which they had posses with their magic, a scarecrow, a chair, and mess of chains. Noah just smiled at the men. He uttered the words in a near inaudible tone “Valar Morghulis” A bright green color reacted from his staff and a wooden dragon sprouted fourth knocking back all the incoming creations breaking them to pieces. Noah’s eyes narrowed as his dragon’s attack shifted from the mages creations to the mage themselves. The dragon’s mouth opened wide and devoured the first of the men, the blood stained the brown creature with a deep red color. The mage’s peers were already scrambling to try to get a safe distance but it was too late. By spinning around quickly the dragon was able to whip its tail around quickly knocking the two to the ground. This would not only knock the wind out of them but also let the dragon easily pick them off. Now there was only a few slavers left in the entire camp, Noah looked behind him to watch the woman and see what she would do, his dragon came up to him nuzzling it’s head underneath Noah’s hand like a dog trying to please its master.

Sara observed the slaves in cages above her, before finally a dragon came out of no where .It helped the destroy the numerous cages and before she knew it men and women were running out of the town, yet the battle was still far from over. Sara continued to walk now noting to herself that the man was a mage and he seemed to be good at it also. She kept her sword sheathed and began to head north of town searching for any sign of anyone who was enslaved. As she continued to roam, it didn't take long before people surrounded her. She clenched her fist prepared for the fight, Yet she had something in mind. as they all approached her she used a Fanalis technique. They came closer, now within 10 meters of her. Each of them had next to them chairs, candles, and other objects that seemed to take on human characteristic. One was a mirror and this gave her nothing better to do. Hopefully the man whom she had met decided on giving her an assist. As they approached she let out a large bellow shattering the mirror, and having the men and women scream. Their ear drums would most likely shatter and the objects would all crack breaking and falling apart. After her scream they would most likely be disoriented. She ran towards one man and attempted to clothesline him. There was still two more to be taken down. She hoped that she got some back up.

Noah stayed air born, it was easier to see what was going on below plus much harder for these wanabe life mages to hit him. If they were real life mages then they would know how to handle Noah but unfortunately for them they did not. His redhead companion seemed to be crossing paths with a few more of the slavers, hopefully the last of this little group. As she was surrounded by a variety of random objects Noah’s eyebrow raised. What will she do? The woman planted her feet and inhaled before letting out a howl that made even Noah hold his ears. It seemed that she was able to produce not only kicks and punches as fast as lightning but scream like thunder. The simple objects around her shattered and the last few slavers were stunned. She was already charging one of the men who was away from the rest of the pack leaving the remaining slavers standing there like idiots. Noah pointed with his staff sending his wooden dragon to take care of these men, they would not be bothering anybody any longer.

After the wooden dragon approached and saved the day Sara simply stood there seeing that all the enemies had been defeated. She was still breathing trying to intake oxygen from her scream. They had finally saved the town. She hoped that anyone captured and enslaved would see these actions and have hope for the world knowing that there were still good people out there attempting to change it and make it a better place. Yet everyone knew that things such as that didn't come without time. She liked the man she was with. This man seem to be powerful, and she was almost certain he would be a powerful asset to have in the future, and would surely be someone she preferred as a ally rather than an Enemy. After he had helped finished the battle she walked towards the man now putting both hands on her hips and looking towards him.

"Thanks, I appreciated that. I don't quite thing we've made our introductions yet. The name is Sara, Sara Flavius of the Reim Empire. I am part of the Fanalis Corps. I must say, you didn't quite look like the magician type when I first met you. However, it suits you. " She said finally introducing herself to the man. She didn't bring the point up about her father being the head of the corps, simply because she wasn't there to live in her fathers footstep or shadow. No she much rather preferred to want to be a part of the corps and work her way up and have it when people hear her name, they don't think of her as Octavius's daughter. Rather they think of Octvaius as Sara's father. She knew nothing came easy, and she had to start somewhere. Maybe making an ally here and there wouldn't hurt her cause, but maybe it would only support it. Now all she needed was a bit more strength to be on part with the guy who had just taken 2 guys out.  She would await for a response, hopefully getting to know his name at least and getting to know what he was really about.

The ground was coated in a red paint. The people that had opposed him where dead now and he had freed a large number of people. He was not against doing good deeds, Noah was not the type that was fully evil but he just did what he thought was fun and for a moment this was fun. The woman seemed strong though, maybe just as strong as the boy but her strength was something vastly different than Noah’s own. He was entranced by the blood on the ground for a moment, its splatter seemed to create art work beauty that was never before seen on this world and once a rainfall comes would never be seen the same way again. He could have possibly saved these men if he was a bit stronger in the arts of life magic, if he could do that he could enjoy killing them over and over again and again. Maybe they would get stronger each time they resurrected or maybe they would still be the same old boring life mages that could only do simple tricks that children could perform.

His small little trace was broken when he noticed that the redheaded woman had started to approach him. He regained his composure and stared at the woman with a kind smile. "Thanks, I appreciated that. I don't quite thing we've made our introductions yet. The name is Sara, Sara Flavius of the Reim Empire. I am part of the Fanalis Corps. I must say, you didn't quite look like the magician type when I first met you. However, it suits you. " That was not too shocking to Noah really, he had suspected that the woman was some kind of warrior from Reim, well suspected was not the right word, he had known. The moment she picked up his tone from whistling. Being from Reim and a red head with a short temper it was easy to put two and two together to assume that she was a member of the finalist corps. But that last name Flavius why did it sound so familiar? Maybe she had a brother or father that had made a name for himself.

Noah held out his hand in a greeting. He decided to take a risk, reveling not only his name but also the country that he hailed from. He wondered if the woman would try to pummel him right then and there on the spot or if she would be friendly. He had a few more tricks up his sleeve but rather not become violent unless provoked to do so. “Noah Ramos from Heliopaht. And thanks haha, I may not look like the strongest of mages but I’ve been working at the Black Temple for most my life, though I have taken a bit of a break from it lately. Your fighting was superb, exactly what I expect from a member from the Fanalis race. Would be a frightening day to ever have to cross paths with you or any of your kin.” He gave a light hearted chuckle hoping that might ease any tensions that would form from him being from the country that was at a standstill with her own.
