After enduring a great struggle and no small amount of suffering, Tenju had managed to pull himself up out of the hole of being broke. The wandering monk now had a meager but vital store of coins for the local currency that could be used to purchase food and housing. At least enough to get him to the next town or city where the young man could sniff out another odd job or two. It was humbling to be doing petty tasks for money, begging strangers to make use of his services. Alas, it was necessary for Tenju to step over his pride so he could scrape together enough money to set out on the road once more. This was the pattern he was not fated to follow ever since the money given to him by his master had mysteriously disappeared(was pick pocketed without his notice).

"Ah! These are truly troubling times! The heavens test me. Surely this is the hardship the abbott warned me of!"

Tenju proclaimed his words loudly as he stopped in the middle of a trade road. No one was around, but if there had been others passing by they would likely have given the strange monk odd glances. It was midday and the road should have been dotted with merchants and soldier patrols, but for reasons unknown to Tenju the trade route seemed abandoned. Little did he know that it was common knowledge in the local area that the garrison's troops had their hands full dealing with various small uprisings in protest against the Emperor of the lands. This left some of the trade roads unguarded and infested with bandits. This dirt road the monk now walked on just happened to be one such path. Only another confident in their strength or as oblivious to the danger as he was would be caught dead traveling it...

Altan always had this strange feeling towards stranger, mostly it was an insecure feeling towards them. She always thought to not trust them before she could judge that the stranger was not a bad person, however it took time. Usually when she met a stranger, she would start from making some distance, knowing that if she got close, they might harm her. But if in some occasion where she needed to work with a stranger, she would just cooperate and stayed on her guard until her work was finished then only time would tell whether or not she would want to know more about this stranger. This habit was formed when she was younger, she knew her existence as a Fanalis and most of her race were slaves. She found out that some people would try to kidnap their victim to be slaves, before selling them to another person who wants Fanalis as their slave pet. All those knowledge mostly was learned from the elders in the tribe, she knew she couldn’t be this paranoid towards strangers but still, the thought to be enslaved like an animal was not pleasant at all. ‘Be careful of strangers…they might be the bad guys…’

Today, she could say the she made a bad choice to continue her exploration at Kou by going to a shady looking place. It was the sense of responsibility to know more about the layout of this country that continued to give a hard time for her tribe that made her mustered all courage to go into this dangerous-looking area. It was pretty strange here since she couldn’t really see a lot of people, it felt like an abandoned area and something bad might happened. After making sure that her bow and arrow were hanging perfectly, she let out a heavy sigh and proceeded towards the road. Her heart beating fast as nervousness kicked in, making her sense tingling and forced her to keep on her guard more. ’It feels strange here… As if someone would suddenly appear and attack… What in the world is in this road…’.

Not long after she started walking along the road, she saw someone was kneeling in the middle of the road. The person seemed to wear a torn clothing, looked dirty and the skin was covered with mud. Perhaps the person was lost but after she done some internal thinking, she decided to just give food to the person and continue to explore the road. It was easy to reach a small package of food that was wrapped in a clean white paper stored in the bag, then she would put it in front of the kneeling person without words. Just when she wanted to start walking again, she was too late to notice that someone was holding her leg. It was the kneeling person and now she could see the look of his face, he looked suspicious with the smile on his face and a dangerous look on his eyes. “Tch! What—“

“You will be a valuable one! Guys! I caught a Fanalis!”

His words cut Altan’s and the red haired girl was surprised to see that her fear came true. Her cautiousness to get away from the stranger seemed also put her in a bad situation, however she would try to escape. Like hell she would give in to be sold as a slave. Knowing that it would be not advantageous for her to use her bows and arrows, Altan quickly used the strength on her feet to kick the man who was holding her leg tight. “Grrr, let go!” The girl growled, now lifting her hand and forming it into a fist before sending two harsh blows towards the man’s face and crushed his nose. Once he let go of her leg, the redhead would quickly stood up she was surrounded by some more bad looking people. They were laughing and looked at her as if she was some kind of a unique animal, preparing to catch her and sell her to those sick freak of slave masters.

With a quick move, she would take out her bow and an arrow before aiming both towards the swarms of people. No words were uttered as she was focusing her gaze on her enemies, she could take them down alone… she just need the right momentum and do her movements right.

Continuing down the path in a whimsical state of ignorant bliss, Tenju forged onward leaving his concerns about material wealth behind. Yes, times would be difficult without money, but the journey would have its own blessings disguised behind such hardships. A need for doing side work and odd jobs to raise funds meant that Tenju had plenty of chances to meet new people and experience Kou culture first hand. Thoughts of this bright side to the cloudy storm of poverty that hung overhead allowed the monk to proceed in high spirits. Empty coin purses be damned! A small grin had even settled across Tenju's face as he walked until his eyes noticed a rather unexpected scene playing out.

By the time Tenju had gotten close enough to witness the ambush Altan was facing, the girl had already drawn her bow. From this distance, he could not tell that it was the same red haired beauty that he'd encountered at the tavern with Singefrid. However, Tenju WAS able to tell that some kind of conflict was playing out between her and a group of rough looking men. The human magician was not keen on sitting by and just watching as violence took place in front of him. Naively expecting to resolve things with words alone, Tenju foolishly broke into a sprint running up to Altan from behind.

Tenju would run just past Altan and then cast himself between her and the target she currently had her bow aimed towards. "Now, now! No need to be so rash!" The slavers all paused in confusion as they saw this stranger suddenly butt into the situation only to suppress the girl's attempts at defending herself. "Oh, you're the girl from the tavern...it's good to see you again!" Tenju greeted Altan with a slight bow and smiled at her before turning to look at the men surrounding her with an apologetic expression. "I'm terrible sorry for whatever trouble this girl caused. But I'm sure you are all reasonable men. Perhaps we can settle this over some bread!" The bandits blinked and gave each other unsure glances. Was this man really such an idiot?

Tenju turned back around to face Altan and shook his finger at her, "Our friend Singefrid would be disappointed in you. What did you do to upset these fine gentlemen?" Just as Tenju asked this of Altan, a shadow would fall upon them both. The slavers had grown tired of the nonsense Tenju had brought into the scene and cast a net upon the human and fanalis. The net was made of tightly woven fibers from a rubbery plant. A specially made tool for catching powerful beasts that even a fanalis would have trouble breaking...

The redhead could feel it, the strength that she pour in in her fingers that were drawing the bow’s string would be released soon. It would be going to pierce one of the bad guys’ head if not because of this man that would use his body as a meat shield and started to talk nonsense. With a quick move, the red haired girl quickly loosening her grip to the bow and made it sure it wouldn’t pierce the man’s head. When he mentioned that she was the girl from the tavern, Altan would tilt her head, wondering about when she ever meet him but she couldn’t remember. Then he mentioned about whatever trouble that she cause and she was kind of offended by it, knowing that it was not her fault to be in the middle of this trouble. Moreover, if he didn’t interrupt her, she would be able to finish them all but not she didn’t have any other chance. For each more words that the man spoke, Altan couldn’t help it but to feel more annoyed that it seemed like she was the cause for all this trouble. Perhaps one of the screw in his head was kind of loosened up a little bit and it made him couldn’t really assess about what kind of situation that he was in at the moment.

It was unfortunate that the bandit didn't even listen to his plea as they started to run towards the redhead and the man, so the Fanalis could only think to survive at the moment and used her Fanalis strength to beat as many as possible. “Don't get caught or you will be sold as a slave! “ Altan said before putting her arrow back on the place and began to form an offensive stance, preparing her fist and legs to crush her enemies. Last thing she could hope was just this man’s another interference,  so it was probably better if she gave some distance between her and the man when she launched her strike, then she could attack freely. “Don't get close to me if you don't want me to crack your bones by accident…”

Just when she finished her words,  what was coming upon them surprised the redhead. Altan was not quick enough to save herself from the net, not even barely push the man away from the net. "Ughh..." The Fanalis whimpered when the net finally covered her and the other man, but she still tried to struggle, hoping she could break the net and break free. It wouldn't budge no matter how much strength she poured on her hand to rip the net, realizing that she might don't have a choice but to stop fighting for now, Altan stayed still and looked down for a bit. She would then bring herself to see the man and stared at him with a questioning look, possibly to make the man explain his stupidity since he made them getting caught like this.

The warning Altan gave didn't fall on deaf ears, but unfortunately they were as green and naive as a freshly sprouted bud. "E-Eh? Slave?" Tenju still had a dumb smile on his face as he blinked at Altan not really understanding why she would have said such a thing all of a sudden. Weren't these men just fellow travelers? Why would any of them wind up as slaves? The penniless monk didn't even fathom for a second that those men were the ones who would make him and the fanalis girl into slaves. Perhaps he lacked marbles in that head of his as much as his purse lacked coin. The confusion on Tenju's face quickly turned to panicked fear as he saw Altan draw her bowstring back with an arrow knocked at the ready once more. The human began to raise his hands waving them through the air with concern. "W-W-Wait a minute!"

The net fell upon them suddenly adding shock to the fear and confusion Tenju was displaying. "Uwaaa!~ What's the meaning of this!?" Tenju flailed about as the net enveloped him causing the young man to tangle himself up not only in the net but in the knotted rope hanging from his own staff! It was a pathetic sight to see a monk bound and tied by his own rope, but that was indeed what had just happened. In a matter of seconds, Tenju was more captured by his own rope than he was entangled in the net! At least the crushing reality of the situation seemed to have struck Tenju as realization took over his expression followed by an apologetic look towards Altan. Tears streamed down Tenju's face as he begged forgiveness to his fellow captive. "I'm sorry...the is my fault..."

The bandits dragged the two along in the net for hours as they returned to their base which was hidden in a cave carved out of a mountainside. Tenju and Altan were both tossed into a cage with reinforced bars built for keeping even a fanalis warrior in check. The net had been removed from the two, but Tenju had been so entangled in his own knots that the bandits couldn't be bothered with trying to untie him. The rope was also unnaturally thick making it difficult to cut. "Tch, leave him like that, if he were a magician he'd have used magic already." The bandit leader said before he and his men moved to sit by the fire to chat about the great haul they'd made.

"The idiot won't be worth much, but the girl will fetch a fine price! We'll be eating like kings for a while boys!"

The bandits then began to eat roasted boar and drink plum wine as they joked and laughed together 8m away from the cage where Tenju and Altan were being held. Night had fallen while they were being taken here, but this deep in the cave it would have been dark either way. Only a bit of dim flickering light from the distant fire was reaching the cage making it just bright enough to see. "Ooooh, what have I done..." Tenju moan to himself as he wriggled around in one corner of the cage, tears still pouring down his cheeks from each eye.

As the bandits dragged the two of them in the net to their base, Altan would keep staring at the man and prayed that he wouldn’t do another foolish things that would led to more problem for both of them. She felt like a wild animal because they caught her with a net and it was a special net too it seemed, judging from how hard it was to tear the net with her Fanalis strength. But probably it was just because she didn’t really train her body to do a close combat a lot since she was using bow mostly to hunt or fight. The girl would be sighing over and over again, annoyed by the fact that she got caught by the kind of people that she loathed so much and it was all because of this man who had this silly face.

Altan grunted in pain when they tossed her and Tenju into the cage, literally treating them like an animal that would be ready to be sold to those freaking collectors with “Slave Master” as their titles. She finally could move freely on her own but then when she looked at the man who was being captured with her, the redhead couldn’t help but to stare with a black stare and sighed. His own knots entangled him and there was no way he could move his body except by wiggling like a worm, Altan thought that if she suddenly gave him a deadly punch, the man might not be able to fight back. However she wouldn’t do that even if it could made her relieve her stress for being captured at the moment, the Fanalis thought that maybe he could be some kind of help for her. If her optimism betrayed her hope about this man, then she would make the man as her play thing and as her punching back so she could calm herself down.

It was kind of sad that even the slave trader wouldn’t untie him from the knots and just left him suffer like that. The girl thought that she shouldn’t do anything just yet, untying the man right in front of the slavers’ eyes could make them think that Altan might do something that could harm them. Perhaps if they became suspicious of her, then they might put her in a separate cage and that wouldn’t be good. Two would be better than one…hopefully…

It seemed that they were happy to be able to capture Altan, making the girl wondered about her race’s price because they even held a feast for themselves, like a celebration. “I’ll untie you later…. Be patient….” The redhead whispered to the man, but never once she looked at the man’s eyes. She kept looking forward, straight towards the slavers who were partying hard with their roasted boar and plum wine. Her pink eyes flickered a glimpse of a beast who would be ready to attack her prey, but even she knew that now was not a good time. She would need to find a way to escape from this cage first and then she would made all hell broke loose for those wretched men.

“You did some kind of foolish act… but oh well…” Altan would slowly trying to untie the man from the knots, at least giving him the chance to move his body freely. It was a hard process and it seemed the slavers didn’t really care about it, so the redhead kept trying to loosen the knot for now.

“Hey! What are you doing?!” One of the slavers looked at them and approached them with heavy steps, suspicious of what they were doing.

Altan looked at the slaver and quickly answered while her hands were still holding the rope, “Untying him. He is useless anyways, he wouldn’t be able to do anything inside the cage… and I can’t even break this cage with my strength. Just sell me to those collectors already…”

Nodding at the redhead’s words, the slaver clicked his tongue, “Tch! Just don’t try to escape… Cocky Fanalis.” The moment he turned his back to continue joining to the feast, Altan now tried to quickening her pace to untie the monk. “I apologize for saying that, but they need to think that you are not capable to do anything…” Then she would stop for a bit before sending a cold dagger of glare, “You… are capable to do something, right…? Magic or maybe some kind of martial arts…” She got this look on her eyes that gave a hint to the man that if he was useless, then the redhead wouldn’t continue untying him from the rope and she might kill him in the cage.

The sobbing monk was already a mess, snot and tears flowing freely as she wallowed in regret for his actions. Altan offering to untie him later despite the fact that he'd gotten her into this mess only made the water works worsen by quite a bit. It would take several more moments before Tenju finally calmed down and his eyes seemed to have finally spent all the salty drops they had stored. "Thank you..." The young man spoke with graciousness in his voice as he beamed a snot nosed smile at Altan in reverence of her good nature. "I can't believe I was wrong about you and thought you were attacking strangers without reason. You're clearly a good person."

Once the red headed archer began to work at the knots that were keeping Tenju bound, he stopped his wriggling in order to make it easier for her. The bandit's voice did cause Tenju to jump with fear, but once Altan bravely spoke up it brought him a feeling of calm and relief. It seemed like she was reliable in spirit as well as kindness. Tenju branded this impression of the stranger onto his mind deeply so he wouldn't make the same mistake of her character as he had before on the road. It was just then that she apologized for how she had referred to him as useless to the slaver on watch and explained the reason why she had done so. Tenju shook his head and smiled, "No, it was a fair thing to say. I truly was useless when I got us captured. It was a shameful display of foolishness."

The young monk was going to let the subject lie at that, but the glare from Altan and her follow up words sent a chill down Tenju's spine. His eyes went wide and he scooted a bit away from Altan out of fear before clearing his throat and nodding before admitting that he did have some value to her if she could get him untied. "Y-Yes, I think I can get us out of this cage if you untie me....probably..." It wasn't a reliable sounding answer, but it was true and Tenju's earnesty would shine through the fear in his eyes.

If Altan was satisfied with that and continued to work at the knots, Tenju would sit still patiently looking at Altan in the flickering shadows that danced about from the firelight. "So...why were these men trying to capture you as a slave? What did he mean when he called you a "fanalis" before?" The monk's sheltered naivety was showing as he asked the strange question. Having lived all his life inside the temple walls back in Kina, Tenju had never heard of the race before, nor did he know about how highly valued they were as slaves.

The redhead slowly scooted closer to the scared man, waiting until he was done with his talk about he could be useful as well before chuckled softly. “You said i am a good person before but now you looked scared? You can't trust person that easily, especially a stranger…” The redhead would pull the man closer to her so she could continue to untie the knots, “Not that i fully trust you though… but tell me, what are you capable of? I am good with archery but they took my bow… my psychical strength is useless because this cage seemed to have no effect against my strength… so you are the only hope now.”

The redhead couldn't believe about what this man just asked to her, her amethyst eyes would stare at the man in disbelief as both of them were widened. To think that there was some other people who didn't know about Fanalis, he must be from some kind of isolated area. However, Altan herself was not the best person to answer that question. The fact that she was a Fanalis was only being told by those elders in her clan but she never really encountered a lot of Fanalis in her life before.

“Hmm… Fanalis is one of the races existed in the world beside of Imuchakk, Human and Magician race. They are considered to be a very fast and strong humanoid, they are capable to lift big stone by using bare hand alone or even run as fast as a horse. Red hair is the signature of Fanalis race ” she would then sighed, “Not that i really know more though… I got those knowledge from my elders. So i am not really the best person for you to ask about this.” she said as she untie the last knot on Tenju.

“But based from what i heard, Fanalis are valuable as a slave, more than human. Probably because they have a really strong power and a quick speed, this red hair might be considered as an exotic thing as well for the slavers. Other than that reasons, I’m not sure why.” Altan leaned her back against the cage, staring at the flickering shadows. “Perhaps if we didnt make it… you will be killed… and i will be sold to those filthy slavers… We should take the time to know more about each other though, i think it would make us calmer. What is your name?” The Fanalis waited for the man to answer, but the meaning of her words earlier was more directed towards herself, she needed some kind of distraction to not let rage take control of herself at the moment before she prepared herself to fight back when the time comes.

When Altan chided Tenju for being too trusting he could only give a knowing grin and sigh, "My master said the same thing....but I can't help it, the temple where I was raised was so peaceful and everyone was kind. I'm not used to the duplicity of some outsiders. But you can't just assume everyone has ill intentions...right? That seems like it would make the world a very bleak place." Another sigh punctuated the thought as Tenju obviously felt somewhat torn. Knowing full well that he shouldn't be too trusting, but also knowing that having no trust meant walking a path full of loneliness and despair. There needed to be a middle ground to tread and Tenju was confident that it was out there. But his inexperience with the world made it difficult for him to find it. Even so, despite his conflicted feelings about the subject, a softness in the young monk's eyes were a tell that he'd likely remain leaning on the overly trusting side until he found that middle compromise.

The probing Altan made into Tenju's capabilities wouldn't get her very far as Tenju remained somewhat aloof about what he could do. "Well...I can get the cage unlocked. I'm pretty confident about that much...but I'm not sure what else I could do. I've never been in a real fight before... After those words, he became quiet, waiting to hear more about the fanalis mentioned earlier. When the girl shared what she knew, Tenju seemed somewhat troubled by it all. "Kidnapping people and making them slaves just because they are a little different? I don't really get it..." The young man's brow furrowed and he thought about the subject a bit more. However, his narrow view of the world made him blind to just how valuable a super-human slave would be.

Tenju was silent for a bit more until Altan asked for his name. The words she had spoken about him possibly being killed hadn't shaken the monk in the slightest. He replied in a cool clear voice, "My name is Tenju Ichidai, apprentice monk of Houshireizan Monastery. From Kina Kingdom to the east." It was as he declared his identity that the knotted ropes binding him had finally been loosened enough for him to begin shimmying his way out of his entanglement. "I'm a simple man, I don't know much about the world. But the head abbot told me I was a kind soul. My master taught me about the ways of the rukh and how to listen to their whispers." The monk fully untangled himself and moved over toward the edge of the cage door with his staff in hand.

"Reach!"

A soft purple light invisible to Altan and the bandits would glow from Tenju's staff to the knotted rope hanging from it causing a fresh green vine to sprout from the rope fibers. The vine swayed and shifted as it grew reaching out towards a hook on the cave wall nearby where a key to their cage was being hung. Once the vine secured itself to the key, Tenju gave it a quick whipping motion followed by a tug to lift the key off the hook and reel it in towards himself. "Since you're a fanalis, you're pretty strong right?" Tenju asked, somewhat panicked as he quickly pulled the key in. "Because I think it's your turn to be useful soon." He said as he fiddled with the key in order to remove the vine. He quickly fumbled his way into finding the lock hold with the key by reaching an arm through the bars and smiled as he heard the unmistakable click as he unlocked the door.

Tenju swiftly moved out of the way of the door for Altan and gave her a nervous grin. The source for his panic and nerves? The fact that the bandits had heard the commotion while Tenju was getting the door opened and were now gathering their weapons in preparation to subdue the escaping pair. Once Altan made her charge out towards the bandits, Tenju emerged from the cave as well and reached down to touch the vine which was now laying on the ground as he whispered, "Seedbed...". This caused the vine to grow more sprouting more vines which spread across the cave floor creating a 2m radius of plant life around Tenju.

As soon as Tenju managed to unlock the cage and moved out of the way from the door, Altan would only stare at the way out at first as she readied her legs. She maneuvered it in the way so she could jump out of the cage quickly, using the shortest time possible to get out and set herself free. Just like a beast, the redhead swiftly exited the cage and noticed the bandits were starting to gather around once more.  So Altan thought that she could use the chance as her enemies were preparing themselves with their weapons, no room for wrong movement... She thought about how she would move to defeat them all ever since she got caught and being put inside the cage with Tenju, now was the time to make it into realization.

The red haired girl chose the nearest target, wishing to crush as many as possible in the short time because who knew what the bandits could have under their sleeves to stop her. They were an expert who was used to capture a lot of Fanalis after all, she needed to be careful. She dashed towards the front line quickly before making a sudden pause on her legs just 1 meter away from her targets and inhaled a deep breath before letting out a mighty roar to stagger her enemies. Without even waiting for her enemies to recover from the staggering, Altan dashed towards the bandits and jumped when she was close enough to one of them before lifting her elbow up and dealt a vicious strike on her enemy's head. She would use the pressure that she got from the previous attack to keep being on the air as she lifted her legs and used each to kick two bandits who were standing behind the defeated one right on their faces. The girl grabbed the closest man to her as her feet landed on the poor bandits faces before using the gravity to throw him hard to the ground.

So far four of them were down and there was supposed to be around eight of them left... or more, Altan couldn't quickly assess the situation and just focused on defeating as many as she could. Like a wild beast, the Fanalis put her strength on her feet and dashed towards her enemies again. Her leg dealt a sharp pain right on her enemy's abdomen as it landed there to bring him down and another one was down as her knee made its way to the crotch, letting a painful scream to fill the room and made another men cringe because of that. 'Six more... maybe?' She kept that in mind and wanting to keep fighting, but a bandit managed to throw a chain towards her arm and she couldn't move around freely because of that. She was too focused on her prioritized preys and didn't notice the loose one, she knew it was careless but she was planning to use the chain to actually pull the enemy to her side... unless Tenju did something first to support her.

Tenju could do little more than watch Altan's rampage at first. The sheltered monk watched with a dropped jaw and wide eyes as the fanalis girl stormed through the ranks of the bandits like some kind of ferocious beast. He didn't think she was lying or wrong when she'd told him Fanalis were strong. Tenju had taken those words to be true. However, he couldn't fathom just how incredibly strong the warrior race really was from words alone. It was quite astonishing to see the red haired girl's power first hand. Tenju would have simply stood there the entire time watching with that dumbfounded look if a couple bandits hadn't started approaching him.

Apparently these men thought it a much safer task to handle the meekly magician. It certainly would have been the case if Tenju hadn't already taken steps to prepare for any attackers. The monk had created a seedbed just moments ago and now it would be put to good use. As them men ran towards him ready to attack, they did not notice the vines that had already spread across the floor. Once they got within two meters of Tenju, they were within his range. "Tangle...and Grasp!" He shouted. As he did, the vines reached up to entangle the bandit's legs as they ran causing both of them to topple over. The vines then grasped down tightly causing pain to keep the men subdued.

Tenju smiled and knelt down to pat one of the bandits on the head, "You stay put." The monk said cheerfully before stepping over the fallen bandits and moving closer towards Altan, but careful not to get in her way. It was then that Tenju noticed one of the bandits swinging a chain towards the girl. To be honest, she probably didn't need his help, but seeing the brave red head under attack was enough to spur Tenju into action. "Look out!" Tenju shouted instinctively, although it was too late to warn Altan of the coming chain.

Breaking into a run, Tenju charged towards the chain wielding bandit and swept his staff through the air. This caused the knotted rope to sweep along as well, tangling onto the bandit. Another glow of purple light come from Tenju's staff as he shouted, "Thorn!". The rope then grew sharp thorns which poked into the man all over causing him to drop the chain. Tenju then gave Altan a thumps up along with a big grin before it turned into fear as he pointed past her to the last remaining two bandits, "Behind you!"

It was only a quiet acknowledgement that Altan gave for the magician for actually doing something to assist her, “Heh!” The redhead would then being alarmed because of the sudden change of Tenju’s expression, his once cheerful big grin turned into a fear as the bandits was going to put her down from behind. It was a good chance to use the chain that was still wrapping around her hand, it would save enough time and distance as well to stop the bandit from doing what they would do. So Altan quickly pulled the chain to her before smacking the bandits hard, right on their knees. Their painful scream echoed throughout the place as the steel cracked their knees and the redhead was just focusing on unwrapping the chain around her hand instead of giving attention to the poor bandits who was now hugging their knees while crying in pain.

“RUN!” Altan said to Tenju, but as she started to run, she knew that maybe her own speed would be much faster that the magician’s. So she turned back and ran towards the man before lifting him up and dashed off from the place, attempting to get away before the bandits could chase after them. The black haired man might feel the pressure of Altan’s speed right on his face and he might complain about that, but if he did, the Fanalis would increase her speed and tightened up her arm around Tenju’s body.

Tenju let out a deep sigh of relief and place a hand over his heavily beating heart when he saw Altan swiftly deal with the foul bandits who were trying to sneak attack her from behind. He closed his eyes and began to pray giving thanks to the heavens that she was safe. However, the monk was interrupted mid prayer when suddenly he found himself being picked up and carried bridal style. Tenju's eyes snapped open and he looked around in a panic only to find that it was Altan who was carrying him. Tenju had been so absorbed in prayer before that he hadn't even noticed her shout for him to run so perhaps it was for the best that she had picked him up. However this didn't make the situation any less of a surprise for the panicked monk as his cheeks began to flap in the wind pressure brought on by Altan's increasing speed.

"W-What!? I can run on my own you know!"

Tenju shouted his complaint but it probably didn't matter to Altan. He sighed again, although in dejection this time as tears streamed down his face. He was carried out of the cave and off into the darkness of the night.
