The black haired girl finished packing all the things she had inside her bag, only bringing necessary things so her bag wouldn’t be very heavy when she traveled. She brought Haku’s food and also packed some meal so she could share it with Adrastos on their way before checking all the things again before she left her house. When Haku growled softly to her and rubbed his face on her legs, she would kneel down and petted him, giving him all the love she could give. “It will be our first time to travel together… I hope it will be a fun travel… don’t you agree?” The white stripped liger growled softly again, now licking Noir’s cheek as if telling her that he agreed. After checking for the last time, she would then put on the necklace that the white haired magician gave to her, staring at it and then put it behind her shirt. She would touch her ear too, touching the black earring that the dragon emperor gave to her, feeling all the warmth emitting from the things. She hoped that she could come back soon, so she could meet them again, her dearest friends…

She arrived at the dock and waiting there for her mentor to come, sitting on her Liger and just stared at the sailing ship. It would be her first time too, to actually travel together with Adrastos, being just two of them in heading towards the other country. But they would use a ship to travel which slightly making her remember about when she was on the slave ship, journeying to different country just to be sold as a slave. But now she travelled with ship as a free person, not as a slave, so she should at least enjoy the trip.

After Diego's devastating talk with Yakuroro, he had to make a decision. Where would he go now? Remano was out of the question; he didn't know a soul there and he was not a fan of large cities. His whole reason for being in Remano was to assist his King Candidate and to kill Jagang. Since he had failed Yakuroro and wasn't in any condition to kill the spiral-eyed magician, there was no point to stay in Reim any longer. Perhaps he could travel the world, see the sights and meet others who had their lives ruined by meddling magicians.

Whatever his decision, Diego knew he had to hurry. Jagang was bound to discover that the Fanatiga had escaped and he didn't want the magician to find him on the side of the road, still contemplating his next move. Throwing his pack over his shoulder, opposite his bow and quiver, Diego nudged Zanzibar before heading back into town. As he turned towards the docks, he came across a shop that sold an assortment of clothing with styles from nearly every country. A few racks were set up outside, displaying a few pieces of merchandise to entice customers.

As he browsed the racks, a thick, brown cloak caught his eye. He ran his fingers along the hide and turned it over, appreciating the craftsmanship of the piece. Holding it out, Diego found the length to be perfect for his tall frame. Even better, the hood was deep enough to cover his face enough that he could hide his animal-like features. He reached for his pack to pull out some money when he realized that he had none.

Disappointed, Diego started to place the cloak back on the rack when he reconsidered. The shop owner had left it out here, clearly they knew it would be stolen. Looking every which way to make sure he wasn't being watched, Diego wrapped the cloak around his body and took off. He dipped into the nearest alley, sticking to the shadows and side streets on the way to the docks, constantly checking to make sure he wasn't followed.

He managed to make it to the docks without incident, finding several large ships in the process of being loaded or unloaded in the harbor. As he walked along the wooden platform, watching the crews working up a sweat, Diego heard someone mention a ship leaving soon, bound for Balbadd. 'Perfect...' Diego thought to himself.

As he was searching for the ship destined for Balbadd, Diego came across a black-haired woman sitting atop a beast. At first glance, Diego swore it was Trixie, judging by the white fur marred by black stripes. Heart thumping heavily in his chest, Diego approached the girl, only to see that she was riding what appeared to be a combination of a lion and tiger. It seemed Zanzibar had a similar reaction as he quickly skittered over to the liger, climbed up its hind legs and buried his face in its fur, letting out a merry Squee~.

Clearing his throat, Diego looked down at the black-haired girl and gestured to the ship. "This ship going to Balbadd?" His voice came out harsher than he wanted, still choked up by the memory of Trixie.

Adrastos Thanatos arrived at the docks. Behind him walked Zayn, the Fanalis from Balbadd that used Body Manipulation whom he met at The Wreckage. Adrastos wore white mainly, and his staff was hung from his back, whereas his new comrade sported a crimson attire and carried no weapons on his person. They were right on time, seeing as the sun was just beginning to set, and there stood Noir. However, there was someone else there as well: a cloaked figure behind her. Adrastos walked up, his face calm. Now that he was with Noir again, his heart fluttered uncontrollably, and a sickening feeling was pinned toward the figure whose ace could not be seen.

"Sorry if I'm late, Noir. I ran into this guy and we just got to talking," he said, pointing back at Zayn. "So, you ready to depart for Balbadd? I'm sure the ship is about to leave."

His silver eyes glanced at the figure. What was this feeling making him want to vomit? Did he know Noir? Was he perhaps someone close to her? The magician cleared his mind instantly, unsure of why such thoughts entered his mind. "If you're headed to Balbadd too, you're welcome to join us. This is Noir, I'm Neo, and the Fanalis behind me is Lavi. May I inquire as to what your name is?"

As a cloaked figure approached her, the black haired magician observed the figure while her hand touched Haku’s head, taming him because she could feel her liger’s body tensed up a little bit. She would nod and replied calmly, “Yes…” Haku suddenly jumped a little, making Noir almost lose her balance on the furry body and almost fall. She quickly motioned herself to stand up properly before she bumped to the cloaked figure and embarrassed herself, wondering why her companion was so surprised. She noticed a strange creature that looked like a spider, burying its face on Haku’s fluffy fur and letting out a cute sound. The cute looking creature flipped Noir’s curiosity switch as she was now already reaching her hand to touch the spider, but when she heard her mentor’s voice, she halted and looked at the silver haired man.

She noticed someone that she didnt recognized standing behind Adrastos when he pointed at the red haired man before focusing her gaze back at her mentor, “Yes, I am ready.” She would turned her body to face the cloaked figure, bowing her body a little, “Like Neo mentioned, my name is Noir. Pleased to meet you...” She would motioned her hand so her liger walked beside her and petted his head, “My fluffy friend here is Haku. Haku, greet.” The moment she commanded, Haku sat down and lifted his hand, showing his paw and growled softly. She would then approached the fanalis named Lavi, introducing herself in the same way as polite as she could and then waiting for the cloaked figure to introduce himself before hopping on the ship that was ready to depart. She slowly exhaled the air  from her lungs, feeling her heart beating fast as she saw the majestic sea views. ‘...5 months, eh...?’

The fear of Jagang capturing Diego was ever present in the back of his mind. As such, he was already on edge, so that when he heard the creaking of wood, Diego was already alerted of the newcomer's presence. He turned to see a Fanalis man accompanied by a silver-haired woman approaching. Diego's eyes narrowed as they fell upon the staff hanging from the woman's back. 'A magician...' Diego sneered, revealing a brief flash of fangs from underneath his hood.

Diego kept silent, listening to the exchange between the others, and even learned that the magician he thought at first glance was a woman, was actually a man named Neo. Diego noticed a strange expression on Neo's face and found it odd that he introduced himself for Noir. With his lack of experience in romance, the Fanatiga didn't recognize the subtle hints of jealousy in Neo's behavior.

When prompted for his name, Diego slid back the hood of his cloak to reveal his feline features. His face exposed, the others could see a recent scar around the crown of his head, as well as burns and large patches of fur missing. "My name is Diego. I also am traveling to Balbadd." He stared at Neo while he spoke, his tone making it evident that Diego felt he didn't need the magician's permission to accompany them on the boat.

Turning to the Liger named Haku, Diego crouched down till he was at eye-level with the beast. "Hello, Haku. You are gorgeous. It seems like she takes good care of you, huh?" Diego's tone was softer than before and his posture was less tense as he spoke to Haku through the Wildman's Charm. He felt more at ease around beasts than people. As he spoke, pain reflected in his eyes, still reminded of Trixie, however he pushed his feelings aside.

As he stood back up, he saw movement from his peripheral vision. Spinning around to take a closer look, he saw someone staring back at him from a distant alleyway. In the blink of an eye, they vanished, but it left Diego stunned. 'Was that...Triston...,' he thought to himself before shaking his head. 'I'm losing my mind, seeing ghosts.'

Uneasy from seeing the apparition, Diego flipped the hood of his cloak back over his head and got aboard the ship. Zanzibar quickly followed after him when he noticed the Fanatiga hobbling towards the ship. Diego found a spot out of the way of the crew to take a seat and waited for the boat to depart. The furry white spider joined him shortly after, using Diego's lap as a pillow for his nap.

A few days after leaving the port, the feeling of being alone started to overwhelm him. The only person on the ship who he could think to talk to was Noir, a fellow beast tamer. He waited until she was alone on the deck before approaching her. "The sea is beautiful, is it not? It's always nice to run into another tamer. Where did you meet Haku?"

Once aboard the ship, Adrastos ascended to the highest point of the ship: the crow's nest. There, he relaxed, gazing up at the sky while memories of his sea-faring days washed over the core of his soul. Zayn, on the other hand, was sent to his quarters as a reassurance that he would not attempt to fondle the magician. Adrastos lived up there for days, thinking about his past. He had traveled by ship numerous times, mostly when he was being transported from the Plains to Heliohapt. There was also that time when he sailed to Magnostadt and toward the hell that was the Shrouded Isle. Now, the magician found himself on another journey, but this time to a land he had never been to, or at least had no recollection of ever being within its borders. His jumbled thoughts were eventually interrupted by the sound at the humanoid tiger's voice as he spoke to someone down below on the deck.

Adrastos sat up to peek over the edge. The voice was enough to make the young man's blood boil, but seeing the hate (most likely directed at magicians) that gleamed within his eyes once they had met was annoying. Not only that, but before they departed, the thing had the nerve to speak toward Adrastos with such an ear-grating tone. Yet, none of those compared to the seething inferno that raged when the silver-haired man saw to whom he was speaking to. Watching as Diego talked to Noir was beyond the torture he could take. The humanoid tiger was not wanted here. He didn't want that abomination here. What if he found out that Noir was in fact a magician and not a beast tamer as originally assumed? Would the hate Adrastos saw be unleashed upon her too?

Get off this ship. Get off. Don't talk to her, Don't look at her.

The wood of his staff dug into his flesh. It would be easy to knock him off, to catch him off guard and send him into the water below and leave him behind.

But what about Noir?

As long as she is away from him, he didn't care. Deep down, even if Adrastos would not admit it, he didn't like the idea of her being with anyone else. He had felt the same with Kazuya Akina.

You yourself claimed you didn't love her.

Shut up.

Don't you care about how she would react?

His silver eyes narrowed in observation. A few days since leaving Portsmouth, and the fleabag thought he could make casual conversation? Alone?! With her?!?!

"Stay away from her..." Without anymore thought, the magician used a gravity lift spell to send himself down onto the deck. Once his feet hit the floor, his arm moved on its own accord, waving his staff toward the fanatiger. Without hesitation, The magician sent forth a torrent of spells consisting of Aqua Cyclonas II, Aqua Vipera Glacialis Morsus, Glacialis Lamnia, and Shadow Cyclones at Diego, attempting to release his anger and boiling jealousy.  Then, finally casting Water Blast in order to send Diego over the edge and into the sea.

For a few moments, Adrastos stood there, breathing heavily. His anger and jealousy taking awhile to simmer down before his stance loosened up. Then, even when his emotions became a smooth reflective surface, Adrastos stayed where he was at, unsure of what to do, awaiting for Noir's reaction.

If or when Noir would react, Adrastos would walk back to his quarters, motioning for her to follow. She deserved an answer regarding his actions, but first, he felt like they needed to do something else if the were to spend 5 months afloat. Training was what he had in mind, and what he planned to do. It would not only allow them to get stronger, but give them the opportunity to bond. The chance of a lifetime.

Noir stared at the cloaked figure from before and petted her liger that quickly stood up beside her, observing Diego with caution. The black haired girl was surely curious about Diego, as he had some features that was very unusual… and looked like he was abused. He reminded her from the time when she was abused by those slave masters, leaving bruises on her pale white skin and beating her senselessly… perhaps this man was experiencing same thing? “It is indeed beautiful, Mister Diego.” She would step aside so Diego could lean on the wooden railing too in case he wanted to enjoy the endless blue scenery. “I met him around 5 months ago… at the western front forest. May I ask where do you meet that pretty spider? And what is the spider’s name?” The feline featured man would be confused a little because the black haired girl was not giving any emotion and her tone was as flat as the wood planks. But that was not because she was not interested to having such conversation, she was excited, but the emptiness masked her face and covered all her emotion inside.

As they had enjoyable conversation, Noir could feel something approaching and in the blink of eyes, Haku bit her hand to pull her away to the safe area and made her fall on the wooden board. Her eyes widened seeing several water spells being fired towards Diego, “M-mister Diego?!” She quickly stood up and called Haku to get ready for the fight, but when she saw the caster, she only stay quiet… surprised and confused. “Neo…!” She called with her might, looking at Diego as another water spell being directed to him. Her once expressionless face was now filled with a horrified, surprised look. “Neo! STOP!” She then ran to her mentor, wanting to stop him at all cost and asked why he would do such things after commanded her Liger, “Haku, stay there.”

The moment the spells finished, she only stared at the silver haired man, watching as he breathed heavily. Right now she was confused on what was going on, many thoughts swirling around her mind, making her head dizzy. Her mentor might be mad because of something, but he was a little bit strange these days. She felt the slight change from him when he killed Rocky and Esme, curious to know his reason to kill them. And now he was attacking this man in a brutal manner if she could say it, maybe they knew each other and were enemy? She didn’t know, she was curious… she was confused. When her mentor walked back to his quarters, Noir would motion her hand, signaling her liger to wait while she followed the silver haired man.

“Neo.” She called his name firmly, “What is happening?”

The female magician would wait for any answer that her mentor could give, and if there was anything that they could do while they stayed in the boat was only training. It was brutal indeed, but for Noir, those spells were beautiful and she was eager to learn more from her mentor. But right now, knowing what was in her mentor's mind was more important

There comes a point in everyone's life where they are caught in the wrong place at the wrong time or where they become a victim due to a misinterpreted situation. Lately, both had become a constant in Diego's life. It was how he had not only found himself captured by Jagang, who had wanted to perform scientific examinations and experiments on Diego, whom he believed him to be a chimera, but also how he had found himself in his current situation. Simply for trying to strike up a friendly conversation with Noir who shared his love for animals, Diego had earned a target on his back.

While Diego listened to Noir explain how she had met Haku, a jealous Neo seethed in a black rage. Diego would never get a chance to respond to Noir's questions, as the blue magician threw an onslaught of spells at an unsuspecting Fanatiga. Only by the grace of Zanzibar's shrill warbles of danger, communicated through the Wildman's Charm, and Noir's confused look, was Diego able to see the spells coming his way before they hit. However, having no time to do anything but observe your impending doom in the final moments before it strikes you is infinitely worse than being ignorant of its arrival.

For his part, Zanzibar managed to come to a realization, Trixie was gone and that meant there was no one else to put themselves in between Diego and danger. With a courageous SQUEEE~, the furry white spider half-leaped half-climbed up Diego to protect the Fanatiga. While his attempt was noble, Zanzibar's ability to imitate a shield was incomparable to Trixie's, let alone that Neo's spells affected too wide of an area.

Before Diego knew it he was surrounded by four cyclones which quickly converged upon him. Buffeted by the force of the high-pressured vortex, Diego and Zanzibar were thrust into the air, but not before the Fanatiga's shoulder was pierced by the icy fangs of a serpent-like apparition. Next, a giant sword of ice rent a deep gash into Diego's chest while redirecting his upward momentum back down onto the ship.

Before he could crash into the deck of the ship, a swirling shadow formed beneath Diego and caught him in its chilly clutches. Thrust back into the air once again, Diego slammed into Zanzibar on the spider's descent, but it didn't slow the Fanatiga's momentum down. Both tamer and tamee rocketed upwards, high into the sky, until they became a speck in the clouds. Sadly, this meant that Neo's Water Blast would not be what sent Diego and Zanzibar blasting off at the speed of light.
