Vodarara had began his march back through the icy tundra that stretched on before him, it would take him sometime to reach his destination, he was going to penetrate the cave system from the same place he had entered before and slowly work his way down the caverns and try to work out where these oddities had been coming from, it would take some time to reach there and he wanted to enter it in the morning rather than that of the evening, he could use the daytime to clear to the lighted alcove and then start working himself all the way down into the main areas of the cave system.

It would be the next morning just before sunrise he would begin his operation, he would arrive with the flakes of light slowly beginning to curl up and over onto the landscape as it rose in the distance so far away, he hoped that the creatures hadn’t passed the warm water river that flowed within the cave system though, they most likely would be exterminating the other creatures of the caverns rather than working their way to the outside, it was warmer within the cave and thus would most likely be far better for them, though the cave systems could lead anywhere.

Before the dawn wave of light hit the cave entrance, Vodarara entered as he moved in the air’s texture and taste changed as the further he entered the thicker and stuffier the air became, it wasn’t cycling as much as the outside thus was somewhat more contained but this gave it heat and warmth.

The caves sounded early quiet no clicking and clacking, only the patter of feet from the mutt, following slowly behind, Vodarara had pre-strung his bow and was allowing his eye’s to keep their adjustment as he had entered during the night, he slowly moved deeper into the cave system following and feeling for the marks he had left behind before, they were the best guide in this place as he could only use weak fluorescent fungi light to see at least for now.

He couldn’t really predict the time he had been in here but it took him some time to reach what he was going to make his base camp, he could at least use this place as a fall back zone and a place to store his equipment, the light alcove it seemed the corpse of the one he had slain had long gone though it could be expected that the other creatures had cannibalised it or something had dragged it off.

Vodarara ditched his extra equipment there, placing his equipment there to keep it there for safe keeping it wasn’t worth letting it disappear suspiciously again as that would cause a whole host of issue, he had to also leave behind some layers the heat here was strong and thus it wasn’t worth the risk of overheating, though he kept some just in case it would get colder deeper, the entrance was shored up slightly just to put off anything from creeping in, it would be likely even here the night wouldn’t be one hundred percent safe, Vodarara had hung some light sources and ignited the oil’s that fuelled them this would at least allow him to be able to see where he was going and what was in front of him, hopefully buying him some time against the light fearers, it was time to move in deeper and dig out the ebbing corruption at its source, it would take some time and there would be little time for stopping and rest……..

Vodarara began his penetration into the cave system, it was time to head into the eye of the beholder, a small lantern hung from a hook on his bow from the lower hook hung a weight to aim to balance out the weight distortion, the lantern burned animal fat and tallow the lantern illuminated down the cave system in till it would hit more of a turning as he moved deeper, he had left the mutt behind in the cave section which was now his base of operation, moving on from here solo.

The caves surfaces were slightly moist, the air thick and damp but the humidity and thickness kept the roughly a similar level once he reached a moderate depth after penetrating into the system, he had to sacrifice any detection into long range darkness for the preference of light for now, it would be very hard to see in these area’s as there seemed to be only a low level of the glowing fungi left, they were useful in seeing but the changed creatures seemed to at least withdraw from fire and now attack it directly head on, thus Vodarara had sacrificed dark vision in exchange to be able to have a fixed vision range of course in such dark it could pass quite far being contained down the surfaces, it also gave him a greater view of what the surfaces were like themselves, though it wasn’t his preferred way of hunting and travelling, it would make him quite obvious and if something could hide in any shadow it would be hard if not impossible to spot in till it was in the light.

It wasn’t long in till he was able to see down Into the cavern that he had once observed an occurring territorial war, it seemed quite and lonely now Vodarara observed into it watching for movement before he would set foot inside the darkness, slowly restricting down the light being let out to see if there was any ambient light being emitted by the flora and fauna in here to see if he could make visual on anything.

Vodarara slowly adjusted the lantern, as per the time that his eyes were adjusting he didn’t want to leave many major gaps at a point that he may miss something, his plan was if there was anything here or at least a good number to try to draw them all into the tighter area once they were tight in it would be easier to dispatch them all using more area affecting arrowheads which would allow him to deal with as many at once as he possibly could.

….What creeped in the darkness was soon to come…..

Light slowly became lesser and lesser, close to being shut out as Vodarara’s eyes stared deep into the darkness of the cavern that stretched before him, with the lights decrease there was weak glows from the remain fungi and the like that allowed for tiny bits of more natural light and spotting of anything becoming slightly more possible in the beyond.

A small jut of light was left, Vodarara waited and listened and observed for any subtle sign of movement and its sounds in the darkness, he would await a good while and by then had shut off the light what would appear in the low glow was 5 small spiderlings, there purple skittering hide and there tall stinger sitting behind them, scrapping among themselves over any scrap they could scavenge as they fed on what they could find upon the cavern floor.

Spoiler:

Vodarara would slowly draw an arrow from the quiver that hung across his hips, slowly taking it out and notching it upon his bow, the scarlet bow as black as night in the extreme low light conditions, the string pressure increased as two of his fingers drew back upon the string, with a near silent launch the arrow sailed over towards the pack.

One of which would keel over from having an arrow impeded into its soft younger carapace, its glowing blood beginning to leak onto the ground as it skittered and tried to move about before collapsing onto the ground, though the other four would now begin racing over.

Vodarara would fall back into the tunnel to cause the other four to back up in the meantime opening up the lantern, Vodarara already had another arrow in mind for using in such a confined space.

Vodarara turned as he listened to closing steps of many legs, as he rotated the light would revolve round on the walls towards and onto the little bugs that were closing though the light from the lantern wouldn’t burn them it caused them to panic as if from a natural reaction before returning to the fact they weren’t burning.

Vodarara would release off a Barbed Spitter through the air, it would sail down the tunnel and spit out a shroud of teeth across the four that were still approaching, the barbs would scatter across the tunnel with some of their number sticking into the skitterlings that were closing, the use of terrain was rather useful for trapping them and cutting them down with a weapon that was new to them and didn’t quite understand for now.

The corpses of the four were there but just in case Vodarara made sure to make sure they were dispatched to make sure they would not be alive though they should be dead,  during this period he would have time to inspect their bodies and there carapace.

For now there wasn’t time to take exact details on what they were but he took a number of samples which he wrapped up and stored in a nook he could return to collect the samples latter for experimentation.

He wondered what creatures would be within the tunnels next, he was sure they would be at least some sort of more mutated specimen.

Part 2:

Vodarara had finished dispatching the four that he had finished off it the tunnel, they shouldn’t be coming back behind him as they were certainly out of the fight and certainly dead, Vodarara opened back up the hood of the lantern and allowed the light to increase back into the environment as he moved ahead.

He once again reached the cavern that he had encountered the battle when he first adventured these tunnels, when he first stumbled across this place and where he had now discovered these five creatures, of course he had only dispatched four of them so far, with light flooding into the cavern from the lantern after checking the coast was clear, Vodarara began his advance into the cavern, after he reached the one he had nailed with an arrow at the start of the fight, he made sure it was dead as well dispatching it, after which Vodarara began looking around the cavern itself.

He first went over to have a look at the tunnel which was the side that the conflict he observed the mutated creatures had emerged from and had been in control of during the battle, it seemed now this environment was controlled by cysts, it seemed that from the time he had observed these had moved forwards and taken over more of the cavern slowly expanding their area of influence into the area which the grazers which he had yet to see any of had been protecting before they were heavily damaged and fled off, Vodarara did wonder if by now the native species was still alive or had been exterminated.

The fungi had been significantly reduced now which would have explained the lesser amount of light that was produced by the fungi the less fungi around the less bioluminescence could be given off by the environment because there wasn’t as many fungi to of course give it out and thus it could be seen like a tide slowly moving forwards, the fungi only held grips in a limited number of corners but that would likely soon be rid of, it was likely that the mutated bugs had been able to push onwards closer towards wherever the nest or nests of the native grazers were and thus the majority of their forces would be deeper below in the bowels of this place.

Vodarara inspected there tunnel side which the grazers had been the cysts slowly expanding their way down there in lower numbers, though he didn’t plan to go down here, his logic at this time was that if the main mutants were too busy fighting down below with the grazers, if he was lucky enough it would draw forces away from the nest only leaving a skeleton force to defend what should be a queen, insects always had some sort of queen like being whom was in control of the hive if they lost the queen it would fall into confusion and most likely be wiped out.

The queen was also the linchpin to the reproduction the egg layer thus if he wiped that out he would be able to wipe out the mutated species, Vodarara couldn’t really afford to waste much time getting there and thus began heading towards the tunnel of the mutated species and began moving into the cyst filled tunnel.

The huntsman could be said to be away from his area of expertise, but them what he had seen appear in these lands in such a short period of time was rather his experience that lead him to a different domain, he was one to commune to the wilds and seek refuge within them as well as protect and care for them at least this lands for the very least, maybe he was guided here into these filth filled tunnels for a reason or maybe he was just naturally unlucky, he was more likely taking the bet on the second factor due to the fact what type of spirits would want to come down in such a dark and dank place to find out what was in here, though there could be a possibility that it was just a fissure a slight ripple that they could feel and those whom were connected another with the wilds would at least know of it be them humanoid or animal or other.

Like any other creature death was never far away though it wasn’t something to fear if it was to happen it would happen and that would be the end, it was at least his view he was not something special, this life was his life and his way rather than being something unique or humble, in his opinion was just his way of existence like any other being, there were beings whom were special and that could be seen in the aura and power they emanated from there very bodies.

He hated to use the light in these caves it affected your vision and made you stick out like a sore thumb but this was the only way he would have any chance of spotting something before it could kill him, it appeared from what he could see from his light source that the tunnel would get slightly tighter as the tunnel go deeper and as he moved his light source over the nearby boils it became more apparent of a quivering luminous blood it was more apparent with close inspection.

Though this did come with a sudden lash of attacks as the huntsman used what turned out to be one of the now numerous attacks heads to launch himself backwards Fox Foot, The head of one had a somewhat of a crack extend due to kick off from its head as the huntsman withdrew 3 metres, it seemed as long as these things lived even with these ones grievous wounds they would still attack anything they could, three of them came out of there cover slowly dragging themselves across the ground spreading there blood across the floor, though they were pests it wasn’t kind to let them just move on with the nature that was left in them, they wouldn’t have survived anyway with heavily damaged carapaces.

Though they were still combat ready and thus there was no worthwhile risking hacking them down in melee, withdrawing himself to a decent range to at least draw out the combat just in case any more were hiding in the shadows though more did not appear at least for now.

The huntsman notched an Arrow launching it towards the closest of the wounded main body and would follow this twice more aiming Arrow against each of their carapaces at close range to end their wounded forms.

With a final and third Arrow The huntsman finished off the last of them, though it seemed that there blood was somewhat corroding his arrow heads, it would have been useful to retrieve them however he could at least make more of these in a short time unlike his specialist arrows.

The Cavern lead into a single tunnel in the direction, he wished to follow at least that was what it seemed the walls of which were covered and blocked off anything that could have been hidden there within its shadowy depths, he had to keep moving forwards while there was only light resistance though he would have preferred to have not been here, it would have most likely been easier to let the problem be dealt with those that call themselves the natives, the Imuchakk though Vodarara wasn’t the type to drop an opportunity to get his hands on a little base camp in such a location as this with its security of its tunnel network and places to hide supplies.

If he could gain a foothold and make a storage centre here it would hopefully be safe from avalanches which would mean he would have more security as well as a place where he could drag himself if he needed to rest from wounds that wasn’t that heavily exposed, he wasn’t one to go into the villages unless he needed to trade or browsing for interesting things.

This place also at least held some interest, maybe with the good viewing spot if he others knew about the lower sections hidden springs then maybe there were visitors and if those visitors were of the opposite gender, he may well have a great platform to observe hidden from view as well as having his own source of water and bathing of course.

The huntsman’s light shone down the passageway as he began his slow advance, if something was to be hiding it would hide here were it could be away from sight but lie in wait for unsuspecting prey, many predators do that wait in till they have your blind spot to strike, it was the same method any hunter or predator should use you never want the target to know you are there, though the issue comes using that method on predators, they at least have experience of using a position and thus could be said to be more aware of it, so one must use other methods in their case using the winds and the lay of the land and its other inhabitants to other effects.

The slow glob and ripple of the mushroom like blobs that came off of the walls as you inevitably had to push past to continue going as they got larger and slightly heavier, began to even restrict movement they were like a living growing blockade but at least they had little resistance maybe it was these that had closed up other passageways and hardened over or maybe that was just his imagination running a bit too far on the wild scale.

Though this was defiantly somewhere from which you were asking to be ambushed from, a tail lashed out with a swift jolt rupturing one of the bulging cysts causing it to begin to leak out a black fluid quite rapidly as it began to deplete and shrivel up, though the tails weren’t the end of it as another shot towards the huntsman going for his face.

This was different to what was before he couldn’t see what it was exactly but it was far more aggressive and tactful in what it did than the ones before, the Huntsman dropped into a Tumble to clear some distance initially from whatever was coming at him and proceed to do what he did best which was flee, when you can’t win a fight there’s no point in fighting that fight because you’re just going to end up dead and gone and of course he wasn’t going to die lightly to say the very least because if he at least was still alive in the situation he was attacked and he couldn’t win he would be running which he was proving right now.

There was no sound of clicking or clattering of the previous bugs only the blobbing of the cysts, these were silent it seemed for the most part at least what was following him could be, though it could be the fact he was having to deal with increased sensory input, he continued to run further through the cyst filled tunnel, moving his head to scan his surroundings, a liquid drop would drop down his vision splashing upon his nose, as the hunter quickly dropped and rolled as another follow up of lashes descended a tunnel like this was not the best place the fight, he should have burned this place out first rather than try to sneak through.

Vodarara managed to finally set eyes on the creature or well creatures that he was being pursued by these were different to the fighters he had seen before creatures with two tails rather than one, the stinger of which seemed to be massively bulbed and large under the sting itself it seemed there venom glands weren’t perfect and thus was causing a leakage of greeny fluid from there stings, it wouldn’t be worth taking the risk of being hit by these things, it wouldn’t be worth trying at least personally the damage they could do.

The cysts grew lighter and smaller as the huntsman came nearer to the end as he tried to remove an arrow from his quiver a Thermos, it was tipped with a ceramic pot and a thin piece of thatch which ignited as he removed the arrow from the quiver as he turned around and fired the arrow though it was a quick draw and fell somewhat shorter than he had wanted as the arrow shiftly exploded afterwards as he swung himself around and threw himself to the ground into a mixture of falling and rolling as a blazing paste exploded in the tunnel coating the cysts, walls and the twintails with burning paste, as he made visual on the coated creatures it seemed the paste had little affect there carapaces burned as they approached still slightly wounded, before they could close to strike there stings began to further bulge.

The creatures detonated in a somewhat satisfying and unsatisfying fashion, maybe there was a reaction between the liquid they produced and the paste which was rather useful as both of them had been torn apart, on the second hand however Vodarara found himself covered head to toe in the internal organs and fragmented carapace parts as there body parts seemed to stick to their surroundings that they had been splattered upon……..

Vodarara slowly began wiping off the bloody and gore coating that had now covered him, he would rather not risk any infection from anything though of course having some of their scent would most likely act as a distraction, it was most likely not worth the risk of what could possibly be in there blood which could lead to some majorly negative effects if he happened to make the wrong bet, though it would mean using up some supplies.

Accessing some of his light supplies that he had brought into this place, water skins that he had to store liquids for drinking to keep up his hydration though it did help in this case to wash himself off, using the water to try to remove as much of the muck from his clothing and body as he could, though it seemed to be rather stubborn for the most part as it settled into a layer or two of clothing but that which remained on the skin was not that hard to remove, but he would not have the time to at least clean everything fully while in a dark cave such as this, it was time to keep moving after the equipment had been cleaned and to continue onwards before something could cut him off and leave him with no way out, this was a place he did not understand this place fully only having gained a very limited knowledge of the nature of all the paths that work their way through this cavern, tunnel and cave system.

His Thermos paste had burned away at the area of the tunnel it had exploded in, causing the cysts to have exploded from the temperature that had burned upon them, leaving what appeared to be some black liquid to flow down into the cracks and crevasses of the rock work, it seemed that it had caused greater damage to the cysts than expected though it seemed they were starting to regrow and regenerate and expand back in there lost space as he got further and further down the tunnel he had come down before he had been ambushed, though it seemed even quieter than before as he continued to move his way down the tunnel.

It was the oddities that had started to occur in this world that had created so much change, why had it come and for what reason why did it feel like the existence of the land and its lay lines felt like they were in pain and under stress and causing cries to echo into the wild, it could be say those best suited to that where animals in the nature itself, they were beings that were connected to the world and those whom were just as animalistic could be said to know or at least feel similar but of course not as well that was the weakness of us being that walk as we do, though it shouldn’t be said that we are more intelligent because that is clearly not clue in many cases of certain beings.

Vodarara had sent away his pet well I guess it had become a pet it was getting in the way for now it would be far more useful if he could make use of its uniqueness but that would have to come at a different time it would be better off sitting with his kit in the area, he had taken capture of but for now he would focus on his own ability rather than making use of the creatures senses at least somethings presence may well deter the creatures in here, plus he would rather not have such a unique creature be eaten.

Eventually after pushing his way through the remaining cysts, he found himself emerging into a cavern as the globs slowly closed behind him, the only light he had was from a lantern, the air was stuffy and thick here, it was more like there was the stench of ammonia and the waste that was emitting it, it wasn’t too bad but it was not the type of thing you wanted to remain around for long, the scent emitting its way through the air, maybe it was because of the fact the cysts had begun closing up routes in and out of here, though it wouldn’t be good to get trapped in here as that would be a one way trip to a very slow and displeasing death.

Placing his lantern on firm ground he used it to illuminate the cavern, rather than focusing it as he worked his way down towards the caverns centre, the ground was in some places solid and in others incredibly soft as it seemed waste was more pilled to the centre and lesser to the edges, the ceiling seemed to be covered with cysts but the ground was relatively clear, maybe they had been removed for space or maybe the amount of faeces had prevented them growing it wasn’t something to worry about as it was more of a worry to find the nest as at least it seemed it would be easier to just follow the trail of cysts as he could sort of see a somewhat sealed section at the end of the cavern.

Though he couldn’t be certain on everything he could see as he worked his way across the room towards the other side, a rumble and roll as the waste pile collapsed and the heat in the room rapidly increased, what appeared was more of a monstrosity than anything, unlike the others it had no spiked tail but was a bulking abomination.

A creature that looked like solid stone from the front at least this was the part that Vodarara could see, a four legged creature that could be likened to the form of a hide-less bison, its large crest and discolouration of its body, the crest of its head was a large and extended from its head curving back when it past where you could estimate where the shoulders were blocking any ability to look at the rest of the body.

Vodarara had launched an arrow through the air towards the creature as it was rising from its pile of waste but the arrow, crashed into its head and the tip of the arrow shattered it seemed for the very least arrows wouldn’t be that effective against it.

The creature itself reared up and began moving its body hard and fast, accelerating itself immediately as its headpiece scarred its way across the floor, waste and small fragments of rock breaking off the ground as it felt as if it was shaking the ground itself with the weight itself as it stomped its way along the floor.

It was moving quite a fair bit quicker than how you would imagine a creature of such immense weight could move and it seemed that unlike its bretherin the way it killed was by crushing and from its shear mass rather than impaling and spiking its targets to death.

The fact however it seemed that the head of the creature would be impassable to his weaponry, would pose Vodarara issues but the first objective was not being crushed to death before he could do any proper fighting, he waited in till the creature had closed its range and was only a few metres away, it would be sheer luck if anything would come of this idea, making a bet on creatures that focus full on defence to one point should normally be more vulnerable across the other parts of their body.

Tactical Repositioning himself around the creature in question to leave only moments for the creature to react relying on the creatures own bodyweight to take it past him and to leave it without time to turn or pivot itself on him before it crashed its way through rock work as it passed he somewhat blindly slashed towards the creatures body once its head had passed with his Knife pulling It and cracking one of the poison vials in the sheathe as he Cut and Draw the creature as it rushed past, before quickly returning the blade to its sheathe.

The grinding of smash of rocks could be heard as Vodarara brought round his bow grabbing a small fist full of arrows, clamping a number between his teeth as he began his work peppering as many arrows as he could quickly into the creatures back.

The Arrow remaining in his hand went first, drawing it back in his bow before releasing it into the back of the creature, as the arrows left the string Vodarara used his tongue to push one of the arrows out from between his teeth as he pressed down on the arrows shaft to reposition them using the pressure to push it out.

Catching the falling Arrow in his hand, he drew the next arrow back into the bowstring and launched another arrow in this volley towards the beast.

Followed by another Arrow that he spat out it entered flight along with the other arrows that had been already sent to close on the target.

Spitting out the final Arrow that he had left between his teeth, leaving it loose in the string, he observed the creature, it seemed at least after that volley it wasn’t moving, slowing moving his way close to the sunken body it seemed he may have glanced it with his blade as he came close, it wasn’t worth the risk of the creature still being alive and thus he launched the final arrow towards the nape of the creature.

Job:

Inspecting the creature, it seemed it had been rather peppered with arrows it had most likely been overkill but the idea that something that focuses on one point of defence weakens others was sort of true its carapace was still rather firm and strong but nowhere near what the strength of the head piece, it was quite odd for such creatures to exist naturally in a cave system as they would commonly starve to death it was likely something similar to the other critters that Vodarara had come across creatures that weren’t exactly normal and had come into existence in some odd form maybe enough to cause destabilisation in what he referred to as the lay lines.

Maybe the creature itself was a subtype of the lasher type that had maybe lost its tail, if it was a hive mind like species it would make sense to have other forms but of course if that was not the case then maybe something else was at work and was causing effects that could not be perceived by him or others, there was no way to be certain though, he was only human he wasn’t something that could be sure of anything but the fact this was far from the normal and more of abnormal abominations, It would have most likely been a better course of action just to inform the Chief of the Native Sentient Species, she would have most likely been able to deal with such an issue or at least dispatch people to do this though that does take time of course, that was the issue with things, time is not eternal and you only have a limited amount of it.

Vodarara made a few attempts at recovering his arrows but it seemed the hide was thick enough that on removal it caused the bone shafts of the arrows to snap away from the arrow heads, at least the shafts themselves may be recoverable or put to other uses, it was a shame they had to be replaced but these things happen and nothing is eternal, with the creature dead it shouldn’t pose any other problems to him apart from its foul stench, as Vodarara turned around and made his way up towards the other end of cavern.

His boots pressed down into the filth though at least it somewhat dulled the weight from stepping on hard stone caused as like any makeshift huntsmans gear if you sacrificed water proofing for better grip you weren’t exactly grippy, bone helped somewhat at least keep him from absorbing the filth into the bottom of his boots but the would at least require thorough cleaning before they would decay, the waste itself would speed up the breakdown of the hide with its leaching of ammonia into the hide.

As he came up the slope on the other side of the cavern with the weakening light from the lantern that had somewhat pushed back the darkness that had been consuming the place beforehand, he reached a straight wall, it had ripples and bumps to it but broke up the nature curves of the rock cavern itself as well as the difference in colouration it had, to the touch it felt fleshy and organic though it didn’t feel that strong, taking his knife to it the huntsman made an incision into it and tried to look in though it seemed there was some rouge light coming from the chamber, he couldn’t exactly see and the fact he wasn’t planning on making use of this flesh meant he didn’t need to worry about cutting it.

Recovering his lantern and launching it into the wall allowing the oil and fire to scatter itself and begin burning away at the flesh like wall.

Eventually the other cavern emerged as the flesh wall crumbled and burned though it had caused some smoke to fill the top of the cavern though it didn’t seem like too much and the huntsman himself was quite used to being in a smokey environment it could be said any cave that had a fire in it was rather smokey but those used to it did not even notice it.

The remaining flames began to burn out and the rouge light that was being emitted became more in full force, inside the room was a massive creature though it did not seem free moving and was somewhat hanged and secured in the room around it seemed to be a large number of eggs, this was likely the queen or at least the central factory of the creatures, where there numbers would be mass produced, he hadn’t made much of a silent entrance but it seemed that there wasn’t many forces here to be exact.

Two Vigil Guardians formed their way in front of the Layer, scythe like legs it seemed like they relied on four legs rather than six and had both there mandibles and a set of leg that were heavily scythed seemed like an offensive pair and weren’t on the ground but were angled slightly differently to make them more of offensive slashing weaponry, though there backs of their carapace were more interesting to say exactly they appeared to be a half sectioned part, somewhat liked winged insectoids could have but it was odd due to the fact cave species shouldn’t have wings as it wasn’t that efficient as you could be attacked from above and below thus it was easier to just climb.

Vodarara observed there close cluster and decided to launch a Barbed Spitter at the group as the arrow spun its way into the centre of the cavern, one of the creatures reacted swiftly in seemed to rapidly pulse its self and lashed out destroying the spitter before it could even spit, it seemed these things could at least move and properly move when they needed to.

Vodarara drew out another one of his specialized arrows, a flash flare type an arrow designed to explode with a flash of light before leaving a small light source, as the arrow jetted towards the now advancing Guardians, as it dipped down towards them, the huntsman averted his eyes from the explosion itself as the chamber was quickly engulfed in a flash of light that quickly subsided as the huntsman quickly began scanning the creatures it seemed his aim had been slightly off and it seemed it had only affected one the size of them seemed to be significant enough to have blocked the light from affecting them, maybe they relied on multiple senses and a dark vision or thermal vision was only one of them unlike his human vision which was simple to other interesting ways other creatures had ways of hunting their prey though he didn’t really understand it, though there were always signs of such things.

Vodarara locked his aim on the somewhat dazed creature of the group it was the easiest of the group to target and whittling down there numbers before any more turned up or the multitude of eggs in this room hatched if they did, it would be one of the first times using one of his greatest designs in combat a Pin-point these arrows specifically designed for penetration.

The simple but strong designed arrow was drawn back against the bow string as Vodarara dropped his stance into a more crouched hunting stance to aid in steadying his aim, Vodarara began regulating his breathing as he focused in on his target, as he slowly followed the weak swaying in his arms as the pressure of the string worked through his strong arm, releasing the arrow from its string it jetted towards too largest part of the creature it wasn’t worth guessing where vitals were at this time just laying into them with as many arrows as he could was the best bet.

The Pin-Point met with a section of the creatures carapace penetrating into it, it had worked rather better than expected maybe he should have tried such a thing against the massive monstrosity he had fought earlier, though he had only one with him and thusly it most likely would have been waste as it may well prove quite necessary here.

Though he could feel his energy being sapped every passing moment it was exhausting and hot trying to pull this off and most likely one of the more reckless and stupid ideas to date, but on second though his life had become far more reckless and on scale this was most likely something rather minor compared to all the other stupid things he had done in such a short space of time, it was like the world had cursed him or something along those lines.

Vodarara began repositioning himself on the creatures themselves, they had both been able to close quite a substantial distance on him, though he had an idea launching a Smoke Bomb into the area between the guardian’s and dashing towards it and as the creatures begun to try to lash out there claws, he Tumbled between them dropping a Venom Bomb as he rolled his way through which would cause a toxic cloud to explode between the two creatures.

Though it seemed one was still far faster than Vodarara had expected jetting itself backwards even though it seemed to have been struck by the poison cloud, it still lashed away with its claws as the Huntsman kicked away at the creature, Fox Footing himself away from the creature as it used its second scythe for a close swing, it was a shame to cause damage to his bow as the used it to absorb the momentum of the attack causing some damage and scars to the bow as the momentum and Vodarara’s movement allowed him to put some range between him and the guardians, they were slow and if they had assistance from the other than he had killed earlier it would have been more of a death sentence.
It would be best to eliminate one now, dealing with two aggressive creatures was harder than one, it seemed the Egg Layer was rather useless it didn’t seem to have any attack potential, lowering their numbers would be the best cause of action as the huntsman would prefer to face anything alone and normally preferably by surprise from where it couldn’t react.

Resorting to yet another one of his specialised arrows a weaker Maw when compared to the pin-point arrow though it was something of an older prototype, launching it for the already poisoned and bloodied guardian, even with such weapons dug into it, with its movements reduced it seemed to still be actively trying to move though its bretherin was still fully acting causing the hunter to be constantly on the move to avoid being caught in the creatures guarding rampage.

Vodarara made use of a few more of his arrows as he brought himself to the other side of the bloodied Guardian launching an Arrow into the close body of the weakened one followed by another Arrow he was prepared in this case to use anything he could to just come out alive and hopefully avoid having to retreat.

It seemed the Bloodied Guardian had taken enough punishment as a number of arrows were spread across its body and it keeled over as its legs gave up from a mixture of blood loss as its coloured blood covered the creature’s carapace.

Vodarara was still kept on the retreat by the fully intact Guardian though it had become far less of a significant threat due to it now being alone.

Though Vodarara was clearing distance he needed time to fire off Arrows making use of a Type 45 he launched the bomblet into the front arms of the creature as the defensive explosion went off, jolting the creature, Vodarara took the time to make use of this.

Focusing on the joints of the creature, The first Arrow went for the right leg of the creature as it struck the creature swifted its weigh as part of the legs carapace became somewhat significantly damaged by the arrow.

This was followed by a second Arrow aimed for the Left leg and its joints which caused that to give way as well as the arrow breached the creatures carapace, with its front legs gone it began using its weapon arms to keep up its movement launching its forwards it a somewhat desperate guardian of sorts, to say the truth if it had a sense of self it could be said to be truly following its role to the death.

Vodarara kept his movement up, coming to higher ground on the more sloped section of the cavern using it to gain a higher profile against the insect after he had peppered the creature with another Arrow to the rear of its body to aim to restrict it more he followed it with another Arrow To the creatures centre as it rolled over with its mass and a final Arrow was used to make certain the creature had perished.

Vodarara slowly tried to regain his breathing he had somewhat become out of breath from all the running and firing of arrows he had to do, it wasn’t something that an ambush predator liked doing often, it was only him and the queen left the creature seemed more in pain itself rather than anything just there laying eggs strung up and thus was ended with an Arrow to the head it was significantly weaker than anything else most likely to the fact of its abnormal form.

With that slain eggs remained in the chamber as Vodarara began inspecting the Queen cutting it supports causing it to more or less collapse on the ground, as he hacked away at its body cutting it open to inspect it, as he looked into its innards that seemed to have become pitch black, either it was rotting quickly or had somewhat already died long ago, a number of crack black rocks were within its entrails that had seemed to have perforated its gut and organs though it made little sense to the huntsman.

Nothing could really make sense in his head he wasn’t a genius after all as he looked around the cavern, eventually finding what seemed to be rockwork that was more piled together than the rest as he pulled at it, it seemed that it began to give way as he separated pieces of it afterwards seemed to follow a short trickle of water, though of course a mountain likely had water flowing through it if this rockwork was holding back a substantial amount it wouldn’t be worth stay around here as the huntsman retreated aiming to return to another part of the mountain in which he felt the water flow was far more lower than his position….
