Vodarara had began his march back through the icy tundra that stretched on before him, it would take him sometime to reach his destination, he was going to penetrate the cave system from the same place he had entered before and slowly work his way down the caverns and try to work out where these oddities had been coming from, it would take some time to reach there and he wanted to enter it in the morning rather than that of the evening, he could use the daytime to clear to the lighted alcove and then start working himself all the way down into the main areas of the cave system.
It would be the next morning just before sunrise he would begin his operation, he would arrive with the flakes of light slowly beginning to curl up and over onto the landscape as it rose in the distance so far away, he hoped that the creatures hadn’t passed the warm water river that flowed within the cave system though, they most likely would be exterminating the other creatures of the caverns rather than working their way to the outside, it was warmer within the cave and thus would most likely be far better for them, though the cave systems could lead anywhere.
Before the dawn wave of light hit the cave entrance, Vodarara entered as he moved in the air’s texture and taste changed as the further he entered the thicker and stuffier the air became, it wasn’t cycling as much as the outside thus was somewhat more contained but this gave it heat and warmth.
The caves sounded early quiet no clicking and clacking, only the patter of feet from the mutt, following slowly behind, Vodarara had pre-strung his bow and was allowing his eye’s to keep their adjustment as he had entered during the night, he slowly moved deeper into the cave system following and feeling for the marks he had left behind before, they were the best guide in this place as he could only use weak fluorescent fungi light to see at least for now.
He couldn’t really predict the time he had been in here but it took him some time to reach what he was going to make his base camp, he could at least use this place as a fall back zone and a place to store his equipment, the light alcove it seemed the corpse of the one he had slain had long gone though it could be expected that the other creatures had cannibalised it or something had dragged it off.
Vodarara ditched his extra equipment there, placing his equipment there to keep it there for safe keeping it wasn’t worth letting it disappear suspiciously again as that would cause a whole host of issue, he had to also leave behind some layers the heat here was strong and thus it wasn’t worth the risk of overheating, though he kept some just in case it would get colder deeper, the entrance was shored up slightly just to put off anything from creeping in, it would be likely even here the night wouldn’t be one hundred percent safe, Vodarara had hung some light sources and ignited the oil’s that fuelled them this would at least allow him to be able to see where he was going and what was in front of him, hopefully buying him some time against the light fearers, it was time to move in deeper and dig out the ebbing corruption at its source, it would take some time and there would be little time for stopping and rest……..
