D&D tabletop game, Story So far

We are playing Rangers of Ehlonna the goddess of forest .... etc.

My Character Sheet:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1al7JwClRUSH0V3huVl3n7y3jxVkYrBcuILfnuUgOJwQ/

The mission of the party of multiclassed rangers is to track down a Cleric of Nerull, a half orc that is surprisingly human looking that also has a minion that is a hunchback.

We left out village tracking the half orc as fast as we could, during our tracking we discovered other fallen rangers that had been tracking the half orc before, they had been stripped of there possessions.

We arrived in greyhawk after tracking the individual to there, as such we have began looking and searching for them.

One of the party mages joined the mages guild during our time in greyhawk while ones self joined the mercenaries guild.

We enlisted the aid by earning favour with the high elves of the city, as well as having the note that our bretherin had fallen sent back to the elven villages.

We went out in search of one of Ehlonna's groves finding it destroyed by what we suspected to be undead creatures but were unable to find the druid whom was caring for the grove, as low level clerics we could only perform ceremony and headed back to inform the high elves.

The High elves dispatched a cleric whom had wolf companions whom now bases himself out of the place.

Over time we have begun informing numbers of temples aligned to the human lawful gods those whom would hunt nerullian's in till the bitter end.

While in search for leads and our money declining two of our party joined the thieves guild hoping for information, once they were able to join an 100 gold bounty was set for information leading to the clerics capture.

We discovered a young slum child during this time, injured by some means being goodly characters the party decided to assist, though the human temples refused any aid, we decided to have to deal with this ourselves, gathering herbs to at least try and calm the wounds.

We rented a cart and horse from the elves and used it to travel to the grove, we hoped the child through mentions of undead and the like had seen the cleric.

Though after having the disease of its body purged, it seemed there was no information, we decided to leave the boy with the cleric of the forest and left off back to greyhawk.

With funds running shorter and shorter we decided to take an escort duty, our trader of the group bartering for more pay, due to two party members not including ones self thinking it was too low pay.

We headed out with a caravan consisting of three carts, alongside 4 other mounted mercenaries, we headed towards divers, we had agreed to get extra pay for handling an encounter.

During the travel we were set upon by a pack of wolves though due to our nature as followers of Ehlonna we were able to talk down the creatures and cause them to withdraw and leave us most likely sparing there lives.

We weren't far from divers when we met another encounter, we were set upon by two ogre's ambushing us with boulders, one of the outriders was instantly killed by the ambush.

We set upon them by range, the outriders using there crossbows and my bretherin using there bows as I the melee fighter went behind to ambush the ogre's.

Using ones magic user spell, Sleep i was able to disable the unwounded ogre causing him to collapse while the other fell to a hail of bolts and arrows, after which the slept ogre was swiftly dispatched.

Though i had suggested seeing if there were any more ogre's it was decided to just head on to divers, which we arrived at after that without issue.

After being payed and gaining a day of rest. we decided to get back to greyhawk we decided to see if there was any caravan's going back to there, though we lost the job due to a group of mercenaries pulling rank for a job to escort a carriage to greyhawk.

Thus without a job, we decided to begin heading back on foot, during the day we were passed by the carriage that we had been pulled rank on.

Not long after that we came upon the carriage group again, it had been set upon by a large number of ogre's the group being attacked by 6 in a paired triangle formation, the carriage had already been knocked over and one of the mercs killed when we made visual.

Being goodly characters it was morally obliged we assisted, though it would be risky and we would most likely withdraw if it got too dangerous, the mercenaries engaged with the ogre's were well equipped, in chainmail riding light warhorses.

The three remaining attacked a pair each, we decided to use the tree's and brush to head behind the closest most isolated pair of ogres.

The biggest of each pair wielded a bastard sword in one hand while the others used clubs.

Before we could engage them, the biggest of the mercenaries fell in battle to his pair of ogre's which were furthest from us.

The plan was as follows, we needed to backstab the closest set of ogre's and then wipe out each pair after that.

By time we engaged two riders remained battling the 6 ogre's one had been wounded though the other was in perfect health so far.

The thieves attacked first attempted to backstab the ogres, our mage thief landed her attacks using there set ability shocking grasp, the ogre was swiftly killed by axe and electricity collapsing to a heap.

The other thief attacked the smallest ogre, though he fumbled his weapons and thus missed, for the record hes called Garret.

Though it was time for myself the fighter to engage, attacking from the rear of the ogre myself, with a slash of ones longsword, the creature was caught in a critical area, the slash killed the creature before it could even react.

We had managed to free one of the outriders, whom did not respond at this time to us, he quickly charged off to assist his remaining comrade.

At this time we decided what too do, we had been detected by the engaged pair of ogres whom bombarded myself with rocks thought none of them landed.

The others ran off to flank behind the group the mercenaries engaged while i moved to engage the two ogre's whom had begun attacking us.

Moving quickly to close the distance on my pair of ogres, using the spell - Sleep on the largest, annoyingly the spell failed and the creature remained awake.

This allowed the largest to engage, though it seemed the smallest stayed back, as the largest swung he fumbled his blade causing it to slip from his grasp.

My comrades continued moving around to flank the ogre's battling the mercs, but before they arrived there the mercenary that had been engaging them from the start was cut down from his mount.

The ogre battling myself in melee, would collapse in our combat, the command word DIE put the creature into a short slumber, while the smaller one continued to throw large rocks.

My comrades aided with the mopping up of the other two ogre's, while i dispatched the ogre that had battled me in melee before it could awaken.

The final ogre would fall to an arrow lodging in its neck shortly after from my female comrade.

As it fell i would check the carriage, it seemed the people inside one appeared to be a young woman whom seemed of human nobility she had a head injury, while the maid had suffered a broken arm.

The one surviving mercenary was happy to have survived there battle, and we were rather happy to have been pulled rank on.

Casualties of the battle were 3 mercenaries and two carriage drivers whom were buried at the side of the road.

I treated the broken arm as best we could splinting it as a comrade tended to the head injury using a cure on that, to aid in some stabilization.

We spread out the equipment from the ogre's we gave a portion of the coin on the ogre's to the mercenary while we kept the equipment and the rest of the coin.

Though the carriage had been made inoperable, we all together had 6 horses that could be still used and one surviving mercenary, before we could finish up another caravan heading to greyhawk came across us, they were kind enough as people of the road and also most likely seeing the ogre corpses to offer us assistance in returning to greyhawk.

At the first waypoint, i checked the items we had gathered from the ogre's one of their bastard swords had magical properties and as the groups main fighter, i called first loot on the magical sword, though its magic was weak, magical weapons are useful. During this stop ones self checked upon the maid with the broken arm deciding to use a cure of light wounds just to aid with its recovery.

We eventually returned to greyhawk, the rest of the journey had been uneventful and we waited in the mercenary's hall in till the noblewoman and maid were taken away by carriage, we recieved a bag of gold each from the families chamberlin, a nice fee of 30 gold EACH for our assistance.

That is were the story is so far.......

We had returned to greyhawk and decided to look around and contact our contacts to look into if they had become aware of any more information regarding the nerillians.

There was no rumours around the tavern we were staying at or the mercenaries, my two colleagues headed to their thieves guild contacts in search of more information though they only gained the knowledge that the targets we were searching for were defiantly within the city, though the two of them had to pay a small fee to the contact.

The elves could provide us with no information and the Penlorians confirmed the same information as the thieves had thus meaning we had at least two groups that had information that they had entered the city and then gone to ground.

As we needed to give our contacts time to search for information we asked around the mercenaries’ guild if anything was being done about searching for ogre’s related to the attack on the noble family’s carriage, we were suggested to offer our services to the guards for patrol.

The Patrol consisted of 8 guards and our three members, everyone was mounted on Light Warhorses, the guards carrying, Shields, Swords, Lances, Dirks and Crossbows cladded out in chainmail, one of the 8 was of lieutenant rank and 7 of the eight members were male.

We joined the guards for patrol in the region towards divers at which the assault had taken place and followed the trails into the keren hills in search for the ogres following a weak trail, though this eventally became difficult to follow.

We were able to get better bearings after talking to a hawk which pointed us in the direction of were the ogre’s could be, this was set around a hill top with a rubbled structure on its top. We began moving with the patrol.

During the nights we spent the night with a cold camp to avoid being detected by the ogre’s infervision and to make it harder for anything else to notice upon us.

We moved on and once we were close enough to the possible target we observed it from a distance during the day, a small human sized figure ran out of it before being dragged back in by a larger ogre like figure, though we couldn’t be certain due to the speed and the distance.

We would come back during the night to scout the area and see if we can identify the number of ogres, when we moved in I remained in armour and thus withdrawn from the group alongside one of my colleagues, while our other member went ahead wearing there leather armour to scout.

Once he returned it seemed he had a confrontation with an ogre but had been able to silently dispatch it before it could alert anything using his command word “die”, though it seemed he was quickly forced to withdraw as more ogre’s came to check and discovered there dead comrade.

We decided to see if we could dispatch any more of the ogre’s, I would remain in my armour and sneak around the perimeter to come up behind the ogre’s and attack them from behind, though my two colleagues would arrive first.

My two colleagues weren’t as fortunate, one slipped and struggled to get up the 10ft climb that the had to cover, while the other climbed over they ended up being spotted and unfortunately for them there sleep spell failed to have any effect on the ogres, after which she was critically wounded from two rocks hurled at her.

My other colleague managed to make it to the top and began to engage the ogres as I tried to ascend the wall from behind the ogre’s with my armour on, though I couldn’t get up first try.

My colleague battled the ogres taking a weak blow from one and before I could engage after climbing over had used there command word “die” on an ogre again, when I arrived I swiftly dispatched the ogre that was on the floor while they finished up with the ogre they were fighting.

While they were bandaging our wounded colleague, three other creatures attacked us of around human height from what was visible from infervision, using my spell Sleep on them I was able to disable the group, on closer inspection they appeared to be ogrelings and thus were dispatched.

We withdrew with our wounded colleague and returned to the camp were the guards were, in morning we would search the place.

Next morning we lead ahead and scouted out the ogre’s base, while searching my colleague discovered a chest and when looking inside discovered a horde of gold around 2000 gold coins and some jewelry and potions before the guards arrived he quickly took the jewelry and potions and hide them before covering up the chest.

Having myself unveil the chest and allowing the guard leader to inspect the horde, though he wanted to check the area was safe first, it seemed the tunnel deeper lead into a tomb that was clear but a section was far to unsightly to search it seemed it was the ogre’s waste pit, we also discovered some tracks that lead away it seemed some ogres had survived the battle and escaped.

We pursued them on horseback however we ended up losing the trail, by our luck I spotted the hawk again and asked if it had seen them lucky enough it was willing to help us again, though I couldn’t convince it to become my assistant and we rapidly pursued towards were the hawk had pointed us.

We managed to close in on them but the headed into the rocks so we couldn’t run them down, thus we dismounted and surrounded the group, it was likely only an Ogre female and her two ogrelings, we closed and began our attack though it seemed the ogre had picked myself as the target of her rock assault.

As I charged as my colleague bombarded them with arrows, I was struck by the rock but it wasn’t enough to put me down, though it was enough to easily put off the charge while assaulting uphill, I was able to strike the ogre and began engaging it in melee, using my bastard sword two handed.

With my second swing I was able to cut down the ogre as the guards that had come with us four of the number, the other four had left earlier with our wounded colleague to return to greyhawk.

The ogrelings were dispatched and we returned to the treasure trove, were the guard officer decided that the split would be 50% to greyhawk and them equal shares by person, it seemed we had rather been screwed over we were not being paid for this, we ended up coming out with around 100gp each from the treasure trove, and we returned to greyhawk.

Once back at greyhawk, we had only been gone a couple of days, we set about speaking to the elves to get the jewelry appraised, I was able to check the items for magic earlier, one of the two potions was magical it was of illusions and could be of invisibility if it was it could be worth a good coin, the other could be poison, none of the jewelry was magical and once our colleague was able to move around we went for appraisal.

We were able to work with our colleague whom was our trader and were able to get roughly 850 gold coins for all the pieces of jewelry, them being a mixture of gold and silver necklaces, though we could have had significantly more coin.

The others were planning on raising the coin of the bounty to 1000 gold pieces this would make it near impossible for our targets to shake such a bounty, the thieves would be very happy for a hunt like that.

Myself I planned to acquire some more gear likely plate armour……

Update 3

We have returned to greyhawk and with are now heavy coin need to spend it, we would spend some time walking around greyhawk looking for blacksmiths/armoursmiths that would be able to make us some high quality plate mail.

We eventually decided on one and by ordering 3 sets of plate mail from him were able to receive a discount of 100 gold, though he would need us around to take down measurements and then to do adjustments on the armour over the next few weeks.

During this time me and my fellow magi party member would look to learn spells from each others spell book, i was interested in shocking grasp and he was interested in shield, i just about managed to gain a grasp of shocking grasp and learn it, whereas my colleague failed to learn shield.

During this time we had a note arrive we had been requested to travel to the Grove of our druid contact whom was in the process of training the child, we had decided we would also take the ceramic vessel with us as well to see if it would be possible for us to get it checked for poison and if it was for it to be disposed of as goodly characters it was only right for us to dispose of poison on sight.

- I Reach Level 2 cleric and roll 2 hit points on the d8 and thus get 1 hp from that dice after it is divided
- Both other members get one thief level and one of them get a cleric level

He gave us information from the boy, it turned out the child had seen the nerillian cleric and his hunchback, they had been entering the sewers in the burn of greyhawk and after that he hadn’t seen them since however he was able to tell us about what they were discussing it was about a kaern in the kearn hills, that there was something there that was of interest to them, he was able to tell us landmarks that had been mentioned that would help us later.

Due to us prior informing the blacksmith of our time away and the fact it took us far less time than expected due to us renting horses from the mercenaries’ guild to race over there, we returned quickly after our 3 day trip and informed the blacksmith of our return to get our platemail ready.

During this time I purchased a Large Metal Shield, we now had to make a plan of action on what we were to do, we needed to get a party ready to head to this place to see if we could catch our target though it had been weeks prior so we couldn’t be certain if we would catch him, we would enlist mercenaries for hire by placing a job hoping our reputation in the guild would help us to be able to hire some people.

With my party during our period of preparing for the operation I discussed seeing if we could acquire a paladin or a cleric from the penlorian’s to assist us with what we were going to do though they were against it, I did inquire with them but was rejected maybe due to the lack of information I provided them with about what we were going to do and why only leaving hints about its possible links to the nuerillians.

We began our interviews of our possible recruits shortly after, we had 16 of the 6 maximum we wanted appear for interview for the role, we paid 4 gold to be able to acquire a room to interview them in at the mercs guild, we informed them that we would be requiring goodly people and would perform a detect evil and other detection magics which caused 3 to leave due to not wishing to be checked for one reason or another.

Of the remainder there was 3 separate solo people, 3 groups of 2 people and 1 group of four people.

Of the best well equipped and best pleasing was the group of four a party of 4 elves and half elves, one which appeared to not be wearing armour whom was the leader it would turn out he was wearing elven chain thus had it under his clothing rather.

One of the parties of two a pair of half elves.

There was also a very impressive Human Plate wearing fighter whom was most likely the strongest of all before us.

All of the best also had horses of their own which was a bonus.

In the end we settled with 7 rather than 6 taking the best of the bunch we had after which we checked them with penetrate disguise spells to check that they weren’t attempting to hide their identity.

We arranged a rule of pay with them, of course as per the contract they would receive a share of the gold, if they were to die there family would receive half share, they were each being paid 10 gold per day and we would provide iron rations as food for the journey as well as trying to supplement with game were we could as rangers.

2 days before we set off we would meet with them again, we would discuss what we were planning to do and where, though there was comments due to where we were going already numerous times being known to have been picked clean, we told them it was otherwise from our information and that we were going there to try and track down a nerillian cleric, this did turn heads but nobody left at that point and they were all happy to carry on.

Two days later we would set off, on horseback with supplies and two spare horses for carrying any extra goods we set off, it would be on our first day during the middle of the day we would meet something.

From the side as we were riding along a road through the kaern’s in the hills, there was a loud wailing and screaming what would appear was a ghostly apparition, a banshee as one should say, this was not something that we could turn or was worth us fighting its strength far higher than ours, so we did the valiant thing of riding as fast as we could past it and by the skin of our teeth were able to escape from having to engage the banshee.

After this encounter we would discuss with the group whom was equipped with magical weapons, in case we faced beasts whom could only be affected by weapons of magic property in all there was only 3 of us that had magical weapons…..

Myself, The Human Fighter and The Elven Battle Cleric, we would be the ones whom would have to face beings like that head on well at least hopefully not another banshee.

We continued on ahead hard for a good while before we would find a location at nightfall to allow us to settle down, this night we would again cold camp and hope for the best, we would stand little chance if a banshee set upon us again.

In the morning the weather was still fare and thus we continued on, it would be through the day we would meet our next encounter, while travelling through the kaern's that reduced the sight that we could see, we would meet head on against another group with only a limited distance between us.

It would initial become a stare of a number of us reacting quicker than the other group, we were prepared to ready but being goodly we weren't obliged to just run down this ragtag band of 15 people armed with crossbows, swords and other equipment, they seemed like bandits.

A member of my party called out asking "how the road was ahead"

They would begin attacking us first there front ranks dropping down and the rear ranks started firing crossbow bolts at us there first wave before we could react by some luck sailed passed us and none of us were struck.

It was our turn now, I led in front dropping my lance and charging lance first towards the enemy, though my lance would miss the front rank, my horse would trample over the men i charged through, i was followed up by our comrades whom followed in crushing through other ranks of the enemy.

The enemies frontlines were quickly crushed the first four of us rolling over the enemies front two ranks, my colleague worked there way up into the hills and would begin shooting arrows into them.

Where as my other mage colleague would close in and prepare to cast there spell, as the enemy forces began to break after taking heavy casualties instantly, an arrow flew striking one the bandit's rear fighters, it would be now the enemy began to run as the next ranks were cut down by our forces as we waded through there lines, not a blow fell on us.

A number of there men fell to a sleep spell and thus we continued on over them the horses trampling the fallen soldiers as we pursued the runners, these two runners would surrender before we cut them down and when we returned the other four whom had been trampled would still be alive.

We would tie up the remaining survivors while we interrogated them while we thought what to do, we should technically turn them over the authorities, even with threats of taking them to where we found the banshee they wouldn't tell us anything, we thought of making them bury there dead, but it would be best to take them to the village on the route and turn them in we would take the corpses and there items as well.

We also made references to them being morons for attacking 10 heavily equipped people the front two equipped in plate mail, obviously something plebs couldn't easily defeat, which was proven by the flawless victory we achieved.

We would arrive at a gnomish village, the guards were obviously initially apprehensive a group of 10 heavily equipped mounted soldiers with bodies and prisoners appeared behind them, my colleague would go ahead and introduce themselves as an elf and the tone changed completely a gnome officer appeared there guards commander he was rather impressed we had eliminated 15 members of a band of around 100 renegade bandits that lurked the area, as well as having captured alive one of there officers, we received a fine bounty as well as a monetary incentive for the gear that we had retrieved none of it was magical.

The officer made references about spreading rumours about us and that we would now be very well hated by this band but also gave us information on the fact the bandits had clerics and mages so could be some threat but had lost a major chink in there group because of us.

We also received free lodgings as a reward for what we had done as well as free feeding of our horses we received a great treatment and good rewards for our actions, they would take our prisoners.

The next morning we would move on heading towards the kaern we were targeting nearing it now, we would move towards it before stopping for the night setting up camp though the next morning it would be throwing it down with rain we were forced to wait it out, during the day we would hear wolfish howls, using our ability as clerics of Ehlonna we were able to convince the wolves to not bother with us as it would be worth none of our while.

The next morning the rain had past and we could see landmarks and were around half an hour from our target, when we arrived it was a there fine small difficult path to the location, it would be single file pulling our horses with us, myself at the front and the human behind me.

As we were climbing rocks would begin sailing down on us, four ogre's had began throwing rocks down on us, the first wave flew past us, though one of our comrades a member of my party was wounded from the rocks he was still standing but his horse was killed as thrown down the hill, we would begin peppering the ogres with arrows while i spoke to my horse and told it to follow allowing me to free my hands and advance up the slopes with shield and sword in hand.

The 1st ogre fell fast from a hail of arrows and i had drawn a way a number of bombardment from the ogres, my colleague healed himself with his clerical spells, returning some of his health.

Another barged of arrows would cause another ogre to fall, as i was closing up the hill, it would be around 15-20 seconds away from them when i would be struck by a boulder, striking both me and my horse, my horse would be taken from the hill and i would be criticaled but remain on the slope.

Another one of the mercenaries would take a hit from a rock but would still be able to move around and hadn't been fatally hit.

Another ogre would fall to arrows and the other would duck into cover wounded as my comrades advanced, as this occured as the climbed the slope a hunchback would emerge and start climbing the slope above the kaern, he would be quickly peppered with arrows dropping the sack he was carrying, he screamed No!!!

I would be binded to keep me from bleeding out by my comrades as they advanced up the slope, our cleric remained with me as the others all advanced, the hunchback would drink something before continuing to flee up the slope.

When my comrades reached the top plain were the ogre's had been another rock would sail towards them it missed and the ogre would be felled by the human fighters arrow that would kill it, the advanced on the position as my other colleague said to get someone up there to chase the hunchback, the knight would begin boosting the Mercenary cleric up, while others looked for what he dropped.

Though a flapping could be heard they armed themselves, the sack couldn't be found but near the caverns entrance there was a hole that went down, the cleric was unable to spot the hunchback and stopped above the cavern when a stench could begin to be smelt, two ghasts undead that could sicken people around them emerged into the shade beginning the assault, the clerics made attempts at turning them but both failed, of course it seemed the closest people knew to defend themselves rather than initially attacking the undead but with the fail they had to engage.

By this time i had been left binded down where i was wounded on the slope, our cleric pushing forwards would cast protection from evil on himself as our thief colleague using my magical bastard sword began attacking the undead with the human fighter and one of the elves as the other cleric swung his mace at the heads of the undead.

The ghasts would take many blows, one took a blow to the head and many blade strikes, another two swords, though would rake there claws twices across one of the mercenaries he would fall to there paralysis but would still remain alive.

Before the ghasts could get a chance to feed on him the Human pushed in wading in with his weapons striking fierce blows on one of the ghasts, as the other ghast would be felled by blade strikes itself and a number of fatal strikes, the human would cut down the other ghast.

Though with them dead we hastily looted them before throwing them down the hill and preparing for more undead, the wounded would be gathered together, we had two out of action myself and the merc who had been paralysed and a wounded man standing and a slightly wounded cleric of our party after his own healing.

It would be now we had to plan of what we would do next if the hunchback and undead were around the half orc had to be somewhere if the hunchback hadn't been eaten either he was a cleric or the half orc was controlling the ghasts.......

Session Start

The party discussed what to do, the entrance on the kaern was filled with weapons that had seemingly been dropped or lost in combat as blood and entrails were scattered on the walls and floor but there where no corpses, though down below crunching of bones could be heard.

The clerics and others began discussing the options of what to do, we could attack before the undead could return to full strength with the casualties that had occured during the recent events with the new undead that could possibly rise from whatever had happened here very recently.

It likely happened within the last day or so possibly during the day that we spent sheltered from the rain and thus why we hadn't noticed it, seven members of the party would press on, one would remain outside with the wounded and paralyzed members of the group, to guard them.

To aid with there watch alarm traps were set up to give them some extra aid if a situation occurred.

The party would advance down a single tunnel that would regularly turn off like a right angle with a steep slope of around 45 degrees downwards, they continued on like this for a fair while in till once again the grinding and biting of bones could be heard, there was some stench emanating from the area.

If it was possible the plan would be to through casks of burning oil into the room, while the rear members used there lanterns to provide light into the room, the two remaining combat active clerics would advance in and the Cleric Mercenary would make an attempt at turning the creatures within, with a protection from evil active on him to aid in his protection, while our remaining cleric placed down an iron circle for his protection from evil to repel any ghasts within as they wouldn't be repelled the spell on its own.

The assault on the open room began the clerics and the human fighter would rush in to gain a small foothold, though it would be quick the ghasts would be onto the cleric mercenary who had attempted to turn the creatures.

While our remaining cleric was finishing his circle, the Mercenary cleric would be swiftly rended by the two ghasts that engaged him, he would be killed instantly without being able to do anything against the rapid attacks that struck true and clean against him rending him dead instantly.

Though the ghasts would then be repelled by the circle, the human fighter would be affected by the ghasts stench.

My other comrade would step forward to engage both of my comrades unaffected by the stench, blows would be swung against the ghasts and now a number of closing ghouls, though technically it isn't possible to tell the difference other than the smell, one of the ghasts would fall quickly while another would hold on and then retreat from the combat while it couldn't breach the protective warding.

three of the ghouls would fall before the warding failed another would fall as the warding collapsed and a remaining three ghouls would pile in with the ghast returning, the ghast however would be swiftly cut down by blades, the human fighter would fight against two, he would be struck by there claws and go down, a half elf mercenary behind would step up into the combat to engage the ghouls as my comrades moved behind to engage the ghouls from behind to allow the other combatants to step into the melee.

Eventally the ghouls would fall with us suffering wounds but no more deaths or paralysis the human fighter had only been paralysed and luckily had not been killed.

While down there they would search for where this bag had been, discovering a wall with a hollow behind it, however it would need to be chipped away, a stone was dropped down the fissure above and it didn't land in this room, however a good portion of the floor was covered in filth and thus we would scatter oil within it and burn out any rot grubs and the like that may be living in the filth.

It would be around 3am before now five members of the group would return to the kaern, this was after a number of healing had been performed on the groups wounded to return them to health.

Once they returned they began working there way round checking if anything remained in the area's we couldn't see into the hole were a shattered cargophigas once was was only a small dug out dip that didn't go that deep, the filth itself had very little that was findable in it, after some while they came to the decision to try to make a hole in the wall.

After a short time with a pickaxe a small hole to see into the area was made, enough with the light of a lantern to see the bag which we had been searching for, though we would need a larger hole to retrieve it and after some work extending the hole we were able to retrieve the bag from where it had become stuck in the rocks.

Once on the surface it was carefully checked for traps such as contact poison and the carefully opened with two knives by its draw string, within the sack there was a necklace it was decorated with skulls, also alongside it there was a armlet decorated with animals of the wild.

The two items would then be closed back up and stored within our active clerics backpack and we would rush back to the gnomish village.

We reached the gnomish village with our remaining horses, the corpse of the fallen and our paralyzed and wounded members, we would need to rest here to get our unparalyzed wounded back in the fight, it was by some luck we were able to acquire a gnomish cleric whom free of charge assisted us by using there spell remove paralysis from our paralyzed party members.

We would remain here for the time being, it seemed of all the items we had found that only the two within the sack were magical, both of alteration magic and spiritualness.

The Cleric Mercenary elven chain and magical mace would be kept by his group.

End of Session
