The journey had been long and arduous. It had taken at least five days riding, since they couldn't go by sea for risk of them sticking up like a sore thumb. If they had invaded Magnostadt's land like that,it would have been seen as a declaration of war, although that was likely to happen at some time during the future due to the horrible anti-goi racism that the "Country of Mages" institutionalized.

Still, as inevitable as it was that they would end up going to war with the most anti-nonmage place in the world, they didn't need to throw themselves into that too early. It would just complicate any hope of getting out of this situation with only the racists killed. That was the whole reason they had spent a couple of days riding rather than the four hours (at most) it would have taken to sail down the river with the wind magic that a lot of the more skilled boat captains used. Still, whether or not it had caused a long journey, they were now coming up to the dungeon itself.

The place was beautiful, with an architectural flair that made it look so amazingly ancient... which was weird, considering the fact that it had grown up within the last week. That was something that he would have questioned god about, if he existed. There was no other real way to explain something like this.

He had been given the basics, that the Emperor had been told about this area by something he assumed was a magi, but that was about all he knew. Yet, the mere link with a magi alone seemed to suggest that it was innately magical. As a Fanalis, magic was a little bit too far beyond his comprehension, so he tried not to think too hard about it, just like how an Imuchukk would never think about using a bow and arrow since they were too clumsy to use them properly.

Still, his hands clutching tight around Susan's reins, he neighed slightly in clear worry about the thing that they were looking at. It was said that when things were about to go wrong, like tsunamis or earthquakes, animals showed concern, so maybe there was something inherently wrong about this place. However, he had also seen this horse fall asleep when he put a blanket over its head in the middle of the day, so perhaps it was not the smartest decision to trust their future to an almost brain-dead animal.

Slipping off the saddle, Alek walked forwards, his cloak blowing behind him ever so slightly in the breeze. Geas wrapped around his hands as tightly as they always did, knowing full well that he might be attacked by a stupidly over ambitious bandit at any time. However, slipping one of them off and putting it in his off-hand, he stroked the door of the dungeon. This place....  was pretty weird.

Sara was with Zander on behalf of Reim. An assignment for them to find this great power in the Dungeon and make it theirs. It was a complicated situation, they were suppose to do this, but she doubt they would be the only two that persuade this. With her blade on her side Sara looked ahead to see Zander was already quite eager since he was ahead of her. She seemed to be extremely calm and didn't think much of it knowing that her dad had always taught here that it was important to keep calm in situations like this. She was looking out for anything out of the ordinary and anything that would prove to be a threat to them. The only thing out of the ordinary was this large building. It's structure was massive and brought a shiver down Sara's spine wondering how easy it would be to get lost in there and more importantly how easy it was to be kidnapped. She shook her head removing the bad thoughts in her head and began to think optimistically.

This power would be theres, it had to be. Sara sighed as she looked at Zander stop and get off his horse knowing that they were finally toward the entrance. She got off of her horse not falling too far behind. She was eager to begin a new journey with on elf her friends. She had a wide grin as she followed Zander. What happened next was indescribable however. She touched the Dungeon itself with her comrade and only one word could justify what was happening, and it was magic. As all of this occurred o She had a large grin on her face to show her dominance and bravery to Zander.  One would think she wasn't scared or panicking but one thought ran through her mind.

"What did we just sign up for?"
Sara thought.

Once Zander and Sara press their hands against the door, it shimmers with a bright golden light. Whether if they decide to pull their hands away or not, they vanishe into thin air, having flashed away in a similar hue as the door had.

The two appear within a black abyss: space. All around them lie the constellations of the fallen kings and queens. A golden beam of light carries them away into another gate, where they finally enter the dungeon...

OOC: Zander may now create his "Main Hall" topic, in Marax' Main Hall Forum. Sara may join that topic as well, but no one else.

Much had happened since Yakuroro had first come to Magnostadt seeking a place at the famed academy for magicians. Since arriving, the Imuchakk magician had learned tons of new magic, been abducted to Zou, met a former student of his original master, and even learned a second magic type. But for all his accomplishments, he still had yet to get a response from the magician's academy. Perhaps his application was lost, or perhaps there was some other reason for why the city of magicians had yet to accept Yaku's ploy for citizenship. Either way, the lack of a welcome into the school for magic had driven Yaku to spite the chancellor just a bit. Sure, Ephraim probably wasn't personally responsible for Yaku's delayed admission as a student, but that spite gave Yaku an excuse to disobey one order the old mage gave in particular. "Ignore the Citadel" was the general word on the street all throughout magnostadt and Yaku himself had even served on a patrol dedicated to ensuring no one entered.

Ever since Yakuroro first laid eyes on the mysterious structure he'd been just as curious about unraveling its secrets as every other mage in the city. Now he no longer cared what sort of punishment would await him from the city of magicians. The Imuchakk was currently seated on a flying carpet he had just purchased and was speeding away from the city gates towards the citadel at a rate of 25m/s. Yakuroro's blue robes and hair both danced in the wind as he called out over the wind to his companion who would be seated on the carpet beside him, "See!? I told you buying one of these would be faster than a wagon! Worth every penny!" The blue mage shouted in justification of his purchase. Zadi was a black magician Yakuroro met whom originally suggested the enter the ominous giant citadel. Yaku wouldn't have decided to go for it if his trusty friend had not been there to assure him it was a good idea.

Neither of them really knew what would await them inside as Yakuroro's flying carpet landed only to wrap around his waist as a jade green obi to hold his robes closed. "I wonder if there will be any books inside..." Yakuroro pondered aloud as he stepped forward to the great doors and placed his hand on the dungeon...

Well, Zadi and Yaku were heading for the large and ominous tower that just seemed to want to be...touch I guess. Maybe it was a kinky tower? Who knows? All the same, Zadi was able to convince Yaku, rather easily, too, that entering the tower would be a 'good idea' if nothing else. So yeah, Yaku quickly purchased a rather large magic tool...a flying carpet! It was just so friggin...COOL!!! It was one of the greatest feelings ot just sit on a carpet...and fly at the same time! TOTALLY FANGIRLING!!! However, Zadi wouldn't get one of his own. He kind of like long travels to distant places. he would save his Huang for something equally as practical, yet slightly different. Maybe an oriental carpet? Well, the point of all this blabbing is that Zadi was happy and excited and anxious to get to the tower.

"Yeah, haha! It was a good idea!"

Zadi shouted at Yaku, trying to get a word across without the sound getting carried away due to the carpet's blinding speeds of 25 m/s. Zadi tried to look ahead, but there was so much debris as they got closer to the tower. There were several birds, some large and some small. However...they were mostly scavengers...pretty creepy. Eventually, the two magicians of different origins entered simultaneously into the grand tower after pushing open the great doors! There was a great flash...and then...

"Hey Yaku, I got your back on this...don't you worry about a thing~"

After claiming the ring which Marax would now be housed in, a great flash of golden light would fill the treasure room and consume the world along with Yaku's consciousness. The last thing he remembered was the dungeon beginning to tremble and collapse around him. But when Yakuroro's eyes opened once again, he was back in that golden tunnel that had pulled him and his companion into that strange dungeon. It looked like much of the treasure that had been in the final room had come along with them. Zadi was here in the portal too, still atop Yaku's flying carpet from the looks of it. While they were still being transported through space, Yakuroro joined Zadi on the carpet and packed it full of as much of the treasure they could manage. After all, when they arrived there had been a contingency of Reim troops stationed just outside the citadel. The mages wanted to be ready to go at a moments notice.

Outside the Dungeon, Marax sank back into the ground from whence it had been risen. In the deep pit left behind, Yakuroro and Zadi would appear. They were floating about three feet off the ground on the flying carpet and looked around in confusion. Yakuroro expected Marax to spit them out somewhere near the citadel, so why were they in some kind of hole in the ground? Yakuroro quickly checked his hand and felt the ring he'd obtained. Running his fingers over the magic circle engraved, Yaku smiled. It wasn't all just a dream! "Well Zadi, not much reason for us to stick around any longer...They don't look happy to see us." Yakuroro said as he looked up to see several Reim soldiers peeking over the edge of the pit. Some of them shouted out "treasure!" while others who noticed the two magician's reported their presence as well.

Seeing that as a their cue to scram, Yakuroro ordered the carpet to ascend at max speed before flying towards Magnostadt. Little did the blue magician know that a pesky Finalis would be hitching a ride....

((Zander is allowed to post sneaking/grabbing onto my carpet. We'll meet in another thread.))

The treasure was endless upon endlessness...however, the carpet wasn't big enough for and endless amount of treasure. Shame. All the same though, Yakuroro and Zadi piled up as much as they could before the dungeon crumbled and turned into a bright flash of light before ending up in a hole in the ground...completely visible to the naked eyes of the Reim soldiers. Zadi got a little more treasure before getting settled on the carpet and flying off with Yaku...and a hitchhiker. Zadi didn't see anything...in fact...he wasn't even here! Funny thing is, he really wasn't on the carpet anymore. He was using his own flight spell, Gravity Lift, to get to where he wanted to be. He did get a few crowns, necklaces and other such accessories to be able to sell back in Balbadd for some Huang. It would be nice to live in luxury, even for just a little bit. So yeah, Zadi had left Yakuroro's side for the first time since they first met. The other time wasn't technically leaving Yakuroro's side, but rather a temporary disengagement in order to train and get experienced in battle. All the same though, Zadi had grand fun with the Imuchakk Magician. Zadi even learned about dungeons and whatnot, knowing that if such a thing ever showed up again…Zadi would claim on for himself indefinitely.

However, Zadi would need even more experience in combat and the like if he were to be chosen as a suitable person to become a King Vessel. He really wanted what Yaku had…his own giant wispy monster in a ring! Or anything that he could find lying around. Pretty much anything metal and shiny that would catch Zadi’s eye in the spur of the moment that he actually got what he wanted. Now then, Zadi was making his way HIGH up in the sky above the Reim Army that was confused and bewildered as to the events that just occurred. Zadi was making sure not to get noticed, but he went at top speed all the same, 10 m/s. Not all that fast, but fast enough. Zadi eventually made it past all the soldiers and everything else afterwards and could see the vast ocean around himself. He was even going faster than most of the ships! It was truly wonderful! It wasn’t even that long until…he got really really tired of flying. His magoi was running dry due to the dungeon thing plus all the flying…so he eventually stopped flying and crashed onto the roof of a Balbadd house near the docks. Zadi was home…ready for an adventure or two~

It was taking a little while to recover from the immediate shock of having not died horrifically, but the guys that he had seen entering the center of the dungeon were on their carpet again. Damn it, they were not just going to get away. He had to stop them, he had to make sure... he had to make sure what, exactly?

That they didn't get the power? They had earned it fairly, and that surely proved they were better than him - at raiding dungeons at least. What was the chance that he would be able to take them out? He could at least talk to them, make sure they didn't join a nation state.

If any nation state had this kind of power, they were going to become an unstoppable conquesting machine that would destroy everything and everyone in their way getting between them and absolute control over the world as a whole.

Even if he'd had the power, he would have made sure it was well used, kept it within restraints... well, sure, he'd have abused it to kill off the final members of the list, but that was a good thing to do and it was going to happen anyway.

Moving forwards, he grabbed the carpet in an attempt to stop them from getting away without talking to him, and... ended up being hoisted off the ground with ease. He would have yelped in surprise but he caught it at the last moment, it was going to be hard to explain his position as it was, he wasn't going to add to that fact by catching them off guard and so for now... he was just going to have to wait.
