Reim's parades were famous for being among the most grand one will ever see. The crown jewel of these celebrations were almost always the Fanalis Corps whom were the pride of Reim's military might and heroes to the people. Their very presence moved the hearts of the populus and gave them a sense of security like no other. How could their great empire fall with such strong warriors protecting it? Imagine the horror upon the citizen's faces when they laid eyes upon this evening's parade.

Almost every Fanalis Corps member member was gathered, but their bodies were missing and honly heads were present. A gruesome pyramid of red haired heads stood atop a wooden cart that was being pulled through the streets by the few Fanalis Corps warriors who still had their lives, but it was no longer proper to call them that. They were now slaves with brands on their faces to mark them as such and the ligaments in their wrists had been cut to ensure they would never hold swords again while heavy magic reinforced chains kept their legs from kicking.

The defeat of the corps rose many questions about the safety of the empire but there was at least one small shred of hope. There was one head not present and accounted for, that of Octavius Flavius, the General of the Fanalis Corps. But the large entourage of guards clad in black and equipped with magic tools made it seem impossible even for the great general to save what remained of his beloved Corps.

Sweshhhhh...went the wind as it would pass by the face of a black/brown haired man who had glowing cyan colored eyes. As he watched from the top of a house he would spot a gruesome pyramid of red haired heads stood atop a wooden cart that was being pulled through the streets by the few Fanalis Corps warriors who still had their lives, but it was no longer proper to call them that.

From the looks of it it seemed that the Fanalis Corps warriors had became slaves with brands on their faces to mark them as such again. He could also tell from the heavy magic reinforced chains kept their legs from kicking.

He clutched his fist as he came from down the top of the house. He would intercept and free the Fanalis Corps. They weren't suppose to be so weak and not only because they were branded slaves, but they didn't even bother to try.

So Tai would now run with a sprinting speed, and now leaping from a ledge which would now leave him soaring in the air. In time he would land in front of the Fanalis Corp who were dragging the carts.

Tai put his hand in front of the Fanalis Corp, this was a way of showing to stop moving. He would draw out his spear and his eyes would glow in a cyan type of way showing how angry he was.

"I'm so pissed off at the fact you guys have these shackles on your ankle...I respected you Fanalis, but now I'm rethinking that statement.." He said.

Tai stepped up to one of the Fanalis Corps members who had shackles on and he looked down on the shackles deciding on how he was going to break it.

"This is such a pain, but I can't have one of the strongest races becoming a product in the slave market..".

When the Half-Imuchakk man appeared before the enslaved and beaten warriors a look of horror and fear covered their faces. They began shaking their heads and trying to gesture for Tai to stay away. But the men and women were not afraid for their own lives. Each of the once proud soldiers were all frightened for the stranger's safety. The of these eyes people pleaded Tai to turn around and leave with great urgency but none of them dared say a word. Only one of the branded Fanalis was remaining calm and stared at Tai intently waiting for the spear wielder to look in his direction.

Fanalis Corps Enslaved 118731

This man was the oldest of the Fanalis still alive and had made the wisest decision of the bunch. His eyes showed an intense determination as he opened his mouth and stuck out his tongue to reveal a magic circle marked into his flesh. He then gestured to the slave brand on the back of his left palm and made a closed fist over it with his right hand. The enslaved soldier then let his fist explode outward into an open hand before bringing it to his lips in a quieting motion.

It was clear this fanalis was trying to communicate something to Tai which explained the distress of his comrades.

Tai stood there with the most ticked off face. He couldn't believe that this was the limit of the Fanalis, but of course since their foot was all shackled up it would make their best asset useless. They began shaking their heads and trying to gesture for Tai to stay away.

Tai didn't even bother to watch them, but instead just contradict by ignoring them and with that he continued. All of a sudden Tai attention would be drawn over to one of the red hair Fanalis who seemed very determined, and that was the spark Tai was used to when seeing Fanalis.

He watched the movements of the Fanalis Male, he stuck out his tongue to reveal a magic circle marked into his flesh. He then gestured to the slave brand on the back of his left palm and made a closed fist over it with his right hand. The enslaved soldier then let his fist explode outward into an open hand.

Tai didn't understand until he re think everything very slowly and once finished thinking it came to his mind that if anyone of the Fanalis were to talk it would cause them to explode.

This gave Tai the opportunity to now think how he was going to get these people out these shackles. It would be best he found who was overseeing this cart though. So Tai would then fall back in with the carts who were currently pushing this cart and with no time to waist he wrapped his face with a random cloth which seemed more like a scar.

It would cover his hair and mouth, and he tried his best to fit in. He would at least like to get some entail on who was the one that captured them, and especially since it was a magic circle he had a feeling it was who he really thought it was....

"Don't worry I'll get you guys out of here...very soon." He said as he muttered to himself.

A cloaked figure dashed from the nearby alley ways and moved behind the half-Imuchakk man who was trying to save the enslaved Fanalis. His hand was firm and strong; unmoving if the man tried to step closer to the Fanalis Corps, or rather what remained of them. "Don't take another step. Please." The tone in the stranger's voice was one of a concerned Father. "If you try to free them they are rigged to explode. It would not only kill them, but you as well and who knows who else would get caught in the blast." If Tai took a closer look at the man, he might recognize him as Octavius Flavius, Great General of the Fanalis Corps.

Octavius wanted to help them, but could not figure out exactly how to go about doing it alone. He only had one idea and that was to find the man or men responsible and get them to disarm the magical bomb. He knew he could not accomplish this alone. "If you truly want to help them; then help me find who is responsible." If the man was to turn and look at the face of Octavius he would feel a chill run down his spine. Octavius looked back to his family and the various looks on their faces. "I will free you all; I promise this."

Some of the Fanalis were brought to tears from seeing their hero arrive while others seemed to be relieved just to know the good general was still alive.

Tai was ready to just free them, but before he could take action a big hand would touch him. For some reason this presence felt intense like a group of ten men. The voice was deep and told Taihele not to step any forward which caused Tai to just stop because of the presence itself and the firm grip onto his shoulder.

With a sudden turn of the neck Tai looked from the corner of his eyes to then be shocked with his mouth opened of being stunned. It was the General of the Fanalis Corps, Octavius Flavius.

Since being in Reim Tai was able to learn much possible about the place learning that Octavius was a very strong & respected man, but from the little rumors Tai didn't think that Octavius would seem so scary well not scary but for some reason he sent chills down the spine of Tai.

Octavius told Tai if he wanted to find wanted to free them the best thing was to do was find the person who had the magical bomb placed onto them.

Tai could already tell how these people felt about Octavius, because of his words he caused most to break down into tears and others to be filled with relief.

If he was so respected by them Tai had no doubt with Octavius side to side with him the Fanalis Corp Warriors would be safe and sound.

"So General Flavius how do you plan on finding this man?" He asked wondering on how the great General would figure this out.

Jarrah

Jarrah was not happy. He had just arrived in Reim, albeit due to having been previously in the service of a slave master, and he was exploring the great industrial city and hoping to take in all its worth and understand better the way the city worked and experience everything he could while in Reim: meeting its people, understanding their culture and how they lived, and seeing one of the great parades of Reim that were so famous even Jarrah had heard of them in the Great North where he had lived.

This is not what he wanted to see.

A parade was most certainly occurring in the main street of Reim, but it was a parade of sorrow, now joy. The Fanalis Corps, the strongest protectors of Reim, were all chained up and walking through the main street, at least, all of the living members were. There were many more, numerous decapitated bleeding heads on a cart in a pyramidal shape that was being pulled by the living Fanalis. However, it seemed all was not lost. Jarrah heard that the leader of the Fanalis Corps, a man named Octavius, was not among the deceased, nor among the living pulling the cart.

Then the man came, a tall, possibly Imuchakk height, man that did not possess the blue hair of the Imuchakk stood before the Fanalis, clearly hoping to free them. Jarrah moved within the crowds near to the man, and saw the Fanalis man motion to his tongue, and understood what the man himself was trying to say. Jarrah deciphered it quickly enough, but he had no reason to shout it, as the Imuchakk-tall man understood what had happened. He then attempted to help out, but was quickly stopped by another large man, this one with the red hair of the Fanalis and, judging by the reaction of the Fanalis slaves, he was their leader: Octavius Flavius. He asked the large man to help him free his fighters by finding the man responsible for the chains and the magic traps. It was then that Jarrah decided to step out of the crowds and join the two giants, himself also being close to their height. He looked at the two strong men, both able fighters by the looks of them, and Jarrah spoke.

"I'm joining you both in this. I may not be the strongest fighter, but there is no way I'm letting slavers get away with this. Not this time."

Octavius would release his grip on the half-imuchakk man. He placed his massive hand against his strong jaw and began to think of ways to accomplish this. "We can do one of two things. We could either capture one of the men who are carrying around those magic tools or we can try and lure the Leader of them out. He knows I'm still alive so maybe I could use myself as a lure then we could ambush him...." Octavius trailed off he really wasn't one for making plans and never really needed to make a plan. Around here, and by here one means the Fanalis Corps, power is the biggest key as well as leadership. "What do you think would work best.....? What is your name boy?"

Octavius was not trying to be rude, but he did not have the best decorum when it came to things of this nature. Octavius looked back over to his 'family' and gave them a thumbs up and a smile, so they would stop crying. In actuality he was just as afraid as they were, but he refused to show it in anything he did. Octavius was shocked by the sudden appearance of another Imuchakk saying that he would help. The eyes of Octavius began to water, but he did not let a single tear roll down his face. "Thank you...Thank you both."

Tai would stand there with the big muscled red haired fellow known as Octavius Flavius. Tai was still stunned by his appearance and how strong his presences was. It just made Tai feel like dropping to his knees, but of course his pride was to strong to drop to his knees.

Octavius decided that they could've either lured out the leader by using him as a pawn or capture one of the men who obtained a magic item. It wasn't very hard for Tai to decide it was best they would decide to him them as a pawn.

"It would be best that we lured out the leader and ambushed them. He's the whole reason why they are doing this, with just that one man we will be able to not only capture all of the men with the magical item, but have him in our hands.." He said speaking to Octavius.

The man asked Tai his name and with no hesitation, "My name is Tai Black.." He said speaking with pride in his voice.

All of sudden, he heard a voice come from no where. With just the sniffle of the nose Tai smelt it. It was accurate, and this smell was so common to Tai that he could tell without even looking. This man was an Imuchakk and not just any Imuchakk, but a pure one at that.

"Well Well...I guess we have ourselves another man joining us. So how about we get started?" He said punching his fist into his palm showing that he was fired up and couldn't wait for some action.

He hadn't felt this way in a very long time, and he was going to take this opportunity to make the most of it, but also he wasn't taking it as fun, because the lives of others were in danger.

Jarrah

D-Tier

Fanalis Corps Enslaved 3676157946_be0bdd6980

While Jarrah had still been a member of the crowds, he had heard Octavius think up two possibilities for possible plans. Either to find a slaver and interrogate him, which may prove to be fruitless, as the slave masters location may only be known to a few of the strongest. No, Jarrah knew which plan would prove to be more effective. Using Octavius as bait to lure out the slave master, and from that defeating the master and freeing the slaves. It was the most logical course of action, and it seemed the other Imuchakk, despite being a halfling he was still Imuchakk, had the same thought process. They all understood the plan that they had to follow through with.

Looking at the Imuchakk halfling, ironically being taller than the pure Imuchakk that was Jarrah, and at Octavius, who's eyes were watering but who refused to let emotions take over, not single tear falling from his eyes, Jarrah knew exactly what to do. The other Imuchakk man said they should begin the operation, which allowed Jarrah to speak. Out of many of the Imuchakk in his village, he had been the most intelligent. Maybe not the strongest, but the smartest, so planning this was his speciality. He looked at Octavius and spoke.

"Agreed, let us begin, Tai. Octavius, we will need to use you as bait to lure out the lave master, and then take him down. Doing that will free your comrades, who will help us take down the remaining slavers in Reim. However, to properly lure him out, it will need to look like you have surrendered, an easy capture. If we can get simple chains that are easily breakable, they should do well. In fact, I know just the chains, they may be a little tight, and we'll need to remove any weaponry on your person. As soon as you break your chains though, you'll be able to recover your weapons while we battle the slave master, and then you can join in once you've recovered them. Don't worry, they'll be close. But first, your chains."

Jarrah then disappeared for a few moments, running to one of the closest buildings, as he knew it well. In the building, on the second floor, were a set of chains, damaged, easily breakable, but still looking new enough to hold the target. Jarrah picked them up and, jumping down from the hole right next to that cell, handed the cuffs and chains to Octavius, smiling wickedly.

"Here we go, a set of chains and cuffs to hold a giant, more or less. They should fit you well enough, but they may be a bit tighter on you, My wrists aren't as large as yours, but other than that they'll work for the day, and you'll be able to break them simply enough."

Jarrah couldn't help but smile at the irony. He had escaped from slavers and vowed to destroy every last one of them, and yet here he was, giving to another the chains that had been used against him only days ago. he was creating a slave to capture a slaver, and he was using his old chains to lure him out, poetic justice if ever there was a thing.

((Sorry Jarrah, but half your post is void as the actions of this post take place before you leave to get the chains))

As Octavius Flavius revealed himself a crow that had been circling overhead veered off and began flying away with haste. This beast was not a true avian creature, but rather a faux life form created through magic. The familiar returned to its master and landed on an outstretched hand that was wrapped in bandages. "...So he finally showed himself..." The mysterious man said in a low voice as he opened a pair of crimson eyes and swiftly grasped the bird servant by it's head. The crow's skull was crushed in a single quick movement, but instead of blood, magoi spilled from it's body only to coil around the man's bandaged hand and slip through the wrappings. "I will finally have my revenge..." Said the stranger as he jumped up to a nearby rooftop and began making his way towards the gathered men whom hoped to free the enslaved Fanalis Corps. By the time the Imuchakk finished stating their plan, the man responsible for this atrocity upon Fanalis-kind had already arrived.

Fanalis Corps Enslaved 3W3Ctig

Standing atop the roof of a nearby house, the red haired villain glared down upon the heroes with a pair of hatred-filled eyes. He cared not for the Imuchakk present and focused all of his animosity upon General Flavius. "Octaviuuuuuus!" The man drew his katana and let out a beastial roar of rage as he held his wrapped fist upwards to the sky. "I've waited 20 years for this moment, now you will finally know the suffering I felt when you abandoned us!" As he shouted his fist began to swirl with rukh and the skin around his arm began to boil as if it were super heated water. Several crow-like monsters would emerge from his flesh and fill the air around him until a flock of 20 beasts had formed. These birds would fly around the man as he stood upon the roof glaring down at everyone, but he did not attack yet. It seemed as though the man wanted to hear was Octavius would have to say upon seeing him.

There were a few things that seemed incredibly strange about this man. The first was that he claimed his grudge was one from 20 years ago, but he himself didn't look a day past 20 years of age. But what was perhaps the strangest thing of all was the fact that the man was clearly a Fanalis, yet he was using magic. What could have possibly driven him to commit such horrors upon his own kind and where did his mysterious magical powers come from?

Octavius nodded in agreement to the plan that the young Imuchakk half-ling had decided on. Upon hearing his reasoning for deciding on luring the man out; Octavius realized that it was in fact the best course of action. Octavius had no idea that above them was a crow like familiar, nor did he realize just what kind of surprise he had coming for him. Octavius simply listened to the words of the two Imuchakk men carefully. If he was going to be bait, Octavius wanted to make sure he had all his X's crossed and I's dotted. "It has been settle-" he stopped his words cold. Octavius slowly turned his head as he heard a familiar voice call his name. "It can't be!" When Octavius would have fully turned his head he would see his oldest friend, Original member of the corps, and more importantly his Savior.

"What do you mean I abandoned you!? Your supposed to be dead! Why are you here it's been 20 years!?" Just like his thoughts; the words of Octavius were a jumbled mess. He could not believe his eyes. His friend who died 20 years ago was here standing before him. Even more disbelief would sweep over Octavius when crows spewed from the arm of his long time friend. Octavius clenched his fist and turned to the man. He racked his brain about what he saw before him. There was no way that this man was his friend, but there is no way that it isn't him. Octavius became slightly frozen in place as some of the older Fanalis corps members jaws dropped and their eyes widen.

Tai stood there with the two men who seemed very interesting, well especially Octavius of course. The Imuchakk not much was known about him, but currently from the looks of it he was a very helpful ally who didn't seem to have any problem helping others.

Tai wasn't to sure about how long he was gone from Imuchakk, but he just hoped that all was well and that everyone was getting along like when he was there.

As Octavius began to speak and outburst from nowhere shout his name. Tai glared to his side with speed. He was kind've shocked but the words from the red long haired man kind've sparked Tai's mind wondering was really going on..

"I've waited 20 years for this moment, now you will finally know the suffering I felt when you abandoned us!" He said.

Tai couldn't help but just really raise his eyebrow looking at both Octavius and the man. Tai was kind've confused, and really couldn't help but want to just act all crazy. This was so sudden and just made his head wanna explode.

"...." His face stunned at the sudden the birds came from the man body. Tai didn't bother to count the amount.

"Kekeke.." He began to chuckle expecting people who were really really extremely really close to him to hear. At the sudden clutch of Octavius fist is the moment Tai also tighten his grip onto his spear.

If a fight was about to start Tai was prepared, he couldn't wait, but for the time being he would wait for some direct orders from Octavius.

Jarrah

Jarrah
D-Tier

It seemed, much to Jarrah's joy, that the slave master was not wanting to simply wait around for it all to be set up. It seemed that, from the beginning, following the Fanalis slaves, a creature had loomed and watched over all from above, a familiar, disguised as a simple crow, who returned to its master when it had sighted the target: Octavius. And the best part, it seemed that their planning had all been for naught, which made Jarrah smile despite himself. The plan had been to lure out the slave master using Octavius as bait. Without doing anything, simply by Octavius being there, had lured out the slave master, who shouted at them from atop a building. Their plan had worked perfectly, it just hadn't been them who had initiated it.

The man atop the building shouted down at the trio gathered, but his words were only for Octavius. However, while listening to the man's words, Jarrah heard something that didn't seem quite right. the man shouted to Octavius that he had been waiting twenty years to get his revenge, but if that were true, than this grudge of his had started when he was a child, which didn't add up. Octavius recognised him, but the great Fanalis didn't seem perturbed at the man's age, which meant that maybe this was his looks when his grudge developed and, for some reason, he hadn't aged since whatever had happened between the two of the Fanalis.

Then something even stranger happened. In Imuchakk, despite frowning upon the practice of magic, there were some Imuchakk magicians, from whom Jarrah had learned very interesting aspects about magic from. He didn't use magic himself, but he found it extremely interesting. There was one thing he did know for sure, one unbreakable law that stood over magic. For some reason, due to their blood or lineage or something Jarrah didn't know, Fanalis could not learn magic, it was impossible. And yet, standing atop the building before them, the Fanalis' arms seemed to boil with rukh, and crows-like creatures emerged from his arms, which was magic, no doubt about that.

Tai, the Imuchakk man standing next to Jarrah laughed, it was a strange laugh, but definitely a laugh. Jarrah also felt, not quite saw, but felt Octavius' fist clench and Tai's grip on his spear tighten. The atmosphere had changed, this was tense. And it was then that Jarrah thought he'd join the other two. Reaching to the clasps on his back, he loosened them and brought out his own weapon. His great axe, which he held with one hand, with the axe head being  just above his shoulder and the long handle stretching diagonally left down his back, much like how one would hold a bo staff, with Jarrah's left palm outstretched in front of him. There were around twenty crows, and the man. Twenty-one foes in total, between the three of them. Simple calculations meant that they each faced seven enemies, but that was clearly not what was going to happen. Jarrah and Tai, no matter what, were going to fight many of the crows, while Octavius fought the Fanalis man. Whether or not Octavius wanted aid in fighting the man was his call. But there was one thing that really angered Jarrah. Normally he would stay quiet and let Octavius speak to his former ally, but this was anything but normal, Jarrah refused to stay quiet with this. So he shouted back, just after Octavius.

"Hey you, just answer this one thing. I don't care what problem you have with Octavius, that's not my concern. But why the hell are you, a Fanalis, enslaving your own people. What is going on in your head to justify this? For God's sake man, this is wrong. Slavery is bad enough, but what kind of sick psychopath enslaves his own people!? What's wrong with you!?"

Taking a deep breath after that to compose himself, Jarrah smiled to himself and spoke, loud enough for anyone to hear if they so wished, "Great, now this guy gets to come out." Sighing, Jarrah looked down and closed his eyes. A moment later he raised his head and opened his eyes once more, and smiled, showing his fangs, with a gleam in his eyes that showed he was ready to tear his enemies into shreds.

The long dead specter scowled at the great general as Octavius pleaded for understanding but the man would give none. As the Fanalis Corps. leader tried to reason with the stranger he seemed to be in pain as he brought his bandaged hand to his face. "Ugh...I...You're lying! Octavius is...He is...THE MAN WHO KILLED ME! Arrrrgh!" He slashed his katana through the air and writhed in place as if he were being tormented by an invisible demon. "He was my friend...why would he betray me!?" It would be as if he couldn't even hear the Imuchakk's comment about slavery, and yet after the blue haired man had said his peace, there was actually a response from the frantic fanalis as his body went limp and he seemed to regain some degree of control over himself.

"The one responsible for what happened the them is Octavius...Yes...If he had only died 20 years ago...none of this would have to happen. It's all his faaaaaaaaault!"

The mad man was clearly not prone to reason. As he shouted, the life magic crows would swoop down for the General and the two men from Imuchakk. The beasts would squawk loudly as they attempted to peck and scratch at the men in order to deal D-tier wounds all over their bodies if nothing was done to stop them.

Octavius could see in the actions of his old friend that someone or something had control over his memories and him. Octavius gripped his fist and clenched his jaw, before tthe Fanalis General could say anything else as a flock of magical crows came rushing at him and the two Imuchakk boys. Octavius quickly slammed his fist into the ground in front of him causing a slab of earth to rise up in front of the three to intercept the crows. "I'll return you to your senses, Shuram!" Octavius would plant his feet into the ground and launch himself at his old friend with a raised fist.

Tai was kind've pumped already and had no time to wait for the men to talk. It was obvious this man was possessed by something and it made Tai really think he was out of this world. All he could do was stand there with a creeped out expression of some sort.

The man was talking to himself and Tai wondered if he was truly who he seemed to be. Octavius was really surprised himself so not everything that was being said was clear to him as well.

"The one responsible for what happened the them is Octavius...Yes...If he had only died 20 years ago...none of this would have to happen. It's all his faaaaaaaaault!"

The man shouted, all Tai could do was chuckle one more time..."Stop all your blabbering and let's get this done with already.." He said. Tai had no time to waste and wanted to release the Fanalis Corp Members from the shackles and magical spell fast as possible.

Even if it mean't going toe to toe with this psycho man, but really he had no interest for him. That man was all for Octavius, and because Tai knows the pride of warriors during battle like Octavius he couldn't dare attack the man whom Octavius once called a friend.

The crows came speeding towards Tai and his other Imuchakk buddy. With no hesitation Tai took his spear and began to spin it in his hands while it was held above his head. Tai aimed it directly towards the crows and it went spinning towards them. Instead of hitting five body parts since they were so small, it would hit five crows instead.

Because of the spin, the spear would comeback as if it was a boomerang right back into his hands, and expecting for the crows to come closer he would send his spear at the speed of ten m/a expecting to hit five crows.

If these actions were to hit he would've dropped ten crows and expected for the other Imuchakk to the same amount or at least equivalent.

Jarrah

It seemed that Jarrah's suspicions had indeed been accurate. There was something odd about this Magic using Fanalis who had held a grudge for twenty years. Octavius muttered a name, apologising to Shuram, which was the name of the enraged Fanalis, who had sent his crows to come and attack the Imuchakk duo and Octavius, but they weren't going to get very far in their task. Twenty crows stood before the men, twenty enemies between three men. Tai, the Imuchakk halfling, was the first to strike.

His first attack was ranged, throwing his spear towards the crows, and taking out five of the beasts, with the spear returning to Tai easily. The weapon itself, judging by its strength, and the fact that Tai was an Imuchakk, was no doubt a weapon made from the Rampaging Unicorn Horn's, much like Jarrah's own axe was. But Tai was not finished, he then, with his newly returned spear, lunged forward, aiming to hit five more crows, bringing his own total to ten, having destroyed half of the appearing enemies. And then there was Octavius.

He also decided to take the offensive before Jarrah, but his first, and only, attack was not ranged. He jumped towards the man, effectively rocketing towards the building in which his enemy and once friend stood. But Octavius' massive jump took him soaring through the crows, taking out six of them, leaving only four for Jarrah, which he already knew how to take out.

Having already been grasping his axe, Jarrah had no ranged attacks of his own, all he had was his strength, so he couldn't do anything until the crows came close, as all four went for him now that Octavius was pre-occupied and Tai had already destroyed ten of them. Jarrah was not himself, he was angry and was a more primal version of himself, a version of himself that only appeared when fighting slavers, this Jarrah was cunning and battle wary in ways Jarrah was not. This Jarrah knew what to do, and so he waited until the last possible moment, when the crows had adjusted their flight positions to land on Jarrah and start attacking, he swung his axe in an arc across, slicing through and taking out all four of the crows, who had attacked Jarrah in a straight line. If everything had gone to plan, all the crows would have been defeated, and that would simply leave Octavius to deal with his own enemy.

((Jarrah, there were 20 crows total. I think your math is off.))

The rock wall that Octavius created would force the crow's to attack from above making it easy for Tai to hit them with his spinning spear. However it lacked the physics he was expecting and would not return like a boomerang as he had hoped making his second attack impossible. For each crow he had slain, two more would take their vengeance upon the half breed by swooping down upon him and littering his body with individual pecks of their beaks. The attacks would only leave the smallest of cuts that just barely bleed, but there were many of them and the pain would likely be great.

Jarrah was left with only 5 of the life magic avian's to fight and his first attack would succeed in destroying two of them. But the rest were not caught by his axe and moved in to likewise peck and scratch at the Imuchakk. The attack were clearly not meant to kill or even maim and it seemed like Shuram was simply buying time so he could face Octavius and Octavius alone.

"Octaviuuuus!" Shuram shouted his old comrades name enraged as he jumped down from the building and met the General's fist with his own. The air would shake between the two men as they both fell to the ground and Octavius drew his weapon. Upon landing, both men would swing their blades at one another causing sparks to fly through the air as a duel of champions began.

[No need to wait for Octavius to post again]

His spear went spinning through the air as it would come in contact with a few of the crows. He was able to defeat some of them, but his spear didn't spin back towards him like how he would expect. Tai had no choice now but to fight with his bare hands, he wasn't really useless without his spear, his strength was just a regular Imuchakk despite being a halfling.

"Goddamit, I gotta' go get my spear.." He said.

Even thought he could fight without his spear he didn't want to be unarmed. As two crows came swooping down at Tai. Instead of hesitating he stood his ground on the offensive and defensive.

Tai crossed his arm like an (X) as they would pluck and peck him causing D tier damage. He couldn't take it no more and his rage of being annoyed had been awaken (nothing special, just him being pissed). His hand raised up like a hammer smashing down on of the crows, expecting C tier or higher damage.

Now there was one left for him to handle, and he would grip the crow even though it attempted to pluck him. Tai would take even more damage to his palm because of gripping the crow, but he tightened his grip and attempted to destroy the crow with just tightening his grip on it.

If this was to work he would take his opportunity of running for his spear. He noticed the Imuchakk with three other crows on his hand, and with no hesitation Tai ran towards him.

He tried to pace himself, and not taking the kill for the Imuchakk, but if he would end up being more damaged Tai would jump in to help.

"This is such a goddamn' pain fighting these crows.." He just wanted to free the Fanalis and help Octavius, but the psycho guy who was talking to these crows...

Jarrah

It seemed that Jarrah was not as fast as he thought, no surprise there really. Imuchakk, despite being known for their great strength, severely lacked in speed, which allowed three of the five crows to avoid the swinging axe, before landing on Jarrah and pecking him, dealing very minimal damage, but it would soon become much more troublesome if they were allowed to continue on their current course of action, something Jarrah was not going to allow to happen.

It seemed Tai, the Imuchakk halfling was facing similar problems, but his solution was identical to Jarrah's. The crows were upon Jarrah, so his axe would not be useful in this situation. As such, he dropped it to the floor. While it fell, the fighter within Jarrah, his primal side, quickly analyzed the best way to take out his assailants, and he knew exactly how to do it. As soon as his axe touched the ground, Jarrah struck. There were three crows: one on top of his head, one on his arm and one on his neck, which was his first target. Imuchakk weren't known for their speeds, but at this close a range, speed was not a concern. This was all about strength, and the Imuchakk had that in abundance.

Jarrah threw a punch towards his neck, just to the side of it so that he wouldn't actually hit himself, but instead the bird, dealing enough damage to crush the beast. He swung his right arm to the left side of his neck, and the bird on his right arm was shaken by the sudden movement. If it stayed on his arm, it would be right in front of Jarrah face, and such he would headbutt the creature, shaking his head and the bird on top of it. If the bird on his arm let go, Jarrah would reach for it with his free left arm and grab it, throwing it on the ground and crushing it with his foot, leaving only the bird on his head.

Regardless on whether or not the bird stayed on his head or let go, Jarrah would reach for it and, if he grabbed it, he would hold it in his left hand, while holding his right hand to its tiny neck. With a snap, the bird would die, bleeding if it had blood to bleed with. If it bled, Jarrah would pour the blood over his face. Jarrah the animal, his enemies were dead and he assumed Tai's would have been too. All that was left was for him to relax and allow Octavius time to help, or destroy, his old friend. If Octavius looked like he was going to die, Jarrah would help out. For now, he would kick his axe up into his hands and wait.

23Fanalis Corps Enslaved Empty Re: Fanalis Corps Enslaved on 06/08/14, 06:24 pm

While the men with the blood of northern giants fought off the life magic birds, a battle between two Fanalis warriors ensued. Blades flashed through the air, both filled with killing intent as Octavius and Shuram fought each other seriously without holding anything back. The Great General seemed to be getting pushed back as his old friend's body had been restored in the same condition it had been in during the prime of his life. Octavius was aging more and more with each passing year and while his experience in battle usually made up for his fading stamina, fighting an old friend made his uneasy heart get in the way of his minds calculations. There was not a single wound on Shuram as the two swordsmen dueled but Octavius had already received a handful of cuts including a moderate gash along his left arm.

As moments passed the general would recieve more and more injuries as his mind drifted back to the last day he had seen Shuram...

Flash Back:

Many years ago, the Fanalis Corps was simply an idea. A dream, resting in the mind of a young Lieutenant Flavius as he fought his way up the ranks of the Reim military. In these times it was rare to see a fanalis employed on the battlefield as anything other than a slave that was bred for battle and the would-be-general had hit a ceiling as the resentment from fellow soldiers prevented him from obtaining promotions. Octavius found himself given a number of suicide missions to tackle during a war with Heliohapt. Time and time again, the men of his unit would perish leaving only Octavius and a handful of survivors after each mission. Through sharp wit and unparalleled might, the Lieutenant always managed to come back alive and eventually the higher ups could no longer ignore his accomplishments.

Upon being promoted to Captain, Octavius was given permission to create his own combat unit. However, instead of choose from among Reim's soldiers, the young man used all of his funds to purchase and free a number of Fanalis slaves which he then personally inducted into Reim's military. Many frowned upon this action and even more questioned the viability of a unit comprised solely of beasts who lived to fight and destroy. The first member of this questionable squad had been Shuram, just a young boy at the time. Shuram served under Octavius for two years and over time their efforts eventually came to garner the respect of most soldiers as many had had their lives saved by the group of crimson combatants when the battle with Heliohapt was at its peak.

In time, Shuram grew to become Octavius' right hand man and was loved by all the members of the squad. It was he who suggested they re-brand themselves the "Fanalis Corps" and many of it's members found strength through him. However not everyone had come to appreciate or recognize the efforts of the Fanalis. Jealous of their success and convinced they were stealing glory, a Reim general ordered the Fanalis Corps to attack the heart of Heliohapt's armies in hopes that they would all perish. In order to further ensure their demise, the general leaked information about the attack to the enemy before hand allowing them to set up a trap for Octavius and Shuram along with all their subordinates.

The Fanalis Corps accepted the orders dutifully and walked right into a death trap as Heliohapt ambush forces closed off their escape route as soon as the Fanalis has begun their assault on the Heliohapt army lines. Octavius ordered a retreat when it was clear they were out numbered and at a severe disadvantage and led a charge to break through the enemy blockade which was blocking their retreat. However even after escaping the kill zone, Heliohaptan soldiers were in hot pursuit as they refused to let the "crimson demons" flee after having killed so many of their comrades over the years.

The terrain of the western ramparts aided the Fanalis Corps' retreat but it's narrow passage ways also slowed them down. Shuram stepped up to the challenge of rear guard and volunteered to stay behind to hold off those following his comrades. Octavius agreed on the condition that Shuram had to return alive, however he knew it was a vain gesture. Shuram died that day, cut down by Heliohaptan spears after having slain over a dozen enemies by himself. The Fanlis Corps returned to Reim suffering the shame of defeat, however they would almost immediately mobilize again against orders. Octavius led his men in a vicious counter attack at night which led to one sided slaughter that caused so many casualties that Heliohapts entire army was routed.

It was in this battle that Octavius distinguished himself as a hero and earned his promotion to General, however Shuram's body was never recovered, nor was the pain of his loss ever forgotten...

Lost in memories of the past, Octavius was losing sight of his reason to fight and live. All he could see and feel was the guilt of having failed to save his friend that day. He never felt right about the way people treated him as a hero and a savior or how he had gained a promotion as a result. What praise did he deserve when the life of one friend could not be saved? These emotions clouded Octavius' judgement and he began to make more mistakes as a dozen cuts began to slash across his body over the course of only a handful of seconds.

Octavius was losing the fight as well as his will to live...

[You guys succeeded in defeating the birds. But the General will need your help in order to find his resolve and overcome the specter of his fallen friend.]

Tai had successful defeated his batch of the magical crows and he had went to grip his spear to aid the other Imuchakk, but from the looks of it the man was doing well just by himself. So it was then known that Tai and his Imuchakk buddy had finished off all the crows and now it was time to proceed.

Tai found himself running towards Octavius to see how the red haired man was doing in combat against the psychopath known as his friend.

"....I can't even.." He said as he bit down on his teeth in anger.

Tai watched as Octavius fought with numerous cuts and his foe was normal as ever. The tension between the two was high and Tai couldn't interrupt it with any of his childish actions. The code of being a warrior was for a man to always to finish his fights even if he had the most wounds. So he stood there strong n' tall only a couple feet away.

"I really thought you Fanalis were more strong willed than what I'm seeing now....Don't tell me that you can't defeat this one man? Even if he was your friend doesn't mean your going to resist in defeating him. You have several Fanalis locked up in shackles and one word from their tongues they can be blown up....They put all their hope into you. From the moment you arrived many were happy to see you still standing, some even cried. They believe in you Octavius, but they can't move on further without a leader like you. As the way of a warrior and a man I shall not interfere in your fight, but I'll lend you the most important thing, and thats my friendship & loyality. The least you can do is STAND UP & DEFEAT THIS MAN YOU ONCE CALLED YOU FRIEND!" He said speaking to Octavius..

"And for you......psychopathic idiot how dare you say Octavius was the one who led you to death? When I recalled Heliophat was the ones you were at war with...it seems to me like your a weakling who can't overcome defeat, and since your a Fanalis who lost in combat..These are my last words to you, I pity you fool.." he said with a deep and dark expression at both men.

Tai loved Fanalis, for an Imuchakk he was quite frightened by them also. The words that he just spoke were deep down from his heart and he hoped both men would get some sense smacked into them.

Jarrah

Jarrah

Jarrah, now, was even angrier now than he had been when he had seen the slaves. Shuram, the twisted and enraged Fanalis who had enslaved many of his own people, had not a single scratch on him. But his opponent, General Octavius Flavius of the Fanalis Corps of Reim, he was riddled in scars and wounds. Octavius was maybe older, but he had at least twenty years more experience than this man, if all was true about what had happened between them both.

It was clear that Octavius wasn't taking the wounds because he was the weaker fighter in terms of combat ability. Octavius wasn't wanting to fight, his mind was slowly losing the will to fight and live. Jarrah couldn't believe it himself, but it seemed that the General was giving up.

Tai then spoke to Octavius, trying to rekindle his fighting spirit by reminding him of the reasons for his battle right now. All the Fanalis Corps were either dead or enslaved, and Octavius was fighting to free the living members, he had to win this fight to save his friends and comrades, which meant he had to defeat Shuram, and so once Tai had finished speaking to Shuram and Octavius, Jarrah decided that he should take a shot at it, just to back up his allies words.

"He's right you know. Octavius, ask yourself, why are you fighting? Don't you remember? You're friends, your comrades, your family are all chained up, enslaved by this man, some even dead by his hand and yet you still refuse to do what needs to be done? Think of it like this: he is your friend, I understand that, and you don't want to kill your friend. But are the Fanalis Corps not also your friends? Are all of them not your friends? Because if they are, then the man before you has taken countless numbers of your friends lives. It would be dishonourable not to lay your friends' souls to rest, and that includes the man before you. Do you hear me? HE MURDERED THEM OCTAVIUS! SO MANY OF THEM, DEAD, BECAUSE OF HIM! HE'S TROUBLED, YOU KNOW THAT, SO LAY HIS SPIRIT TO REST AS WELL AS THE SPIRITS OF YOUR FALLEN COMRADES. YOUR FAMILY!"

Unlike Tai, Jarrah decided not to bother talking to Shuram, it was clear the words would fall on deaf ears, and so he wasn't worth the time, but Jarrah held his axe, ready to jump in and save Octavius if he needed to. It was one thing to allow men to fight their battles, but it was another thing entirely to let an ally die when you could do something to save them.
